Bought a bottle of salad dressing, a savory kugel, & a Get Up & Go breakfast wrap. The wrap which had ham, egg, pepper Jack, jalapeños, avo & hot sauce was sadly bland except for areas were you could get a jalapeño with each bite - it needed salt. The salad dressing also was lacking in flavor even when I shook that bottle well so I had to crack salt and pepper on top of my salad after using it. Lastly the kugel - this was the best thing we got from G&H. Reheated really well and was delicious! read more

I've been coming to this place occasionally over the past few years. This last time however, I think will be the last. It's hard to describe what's going on here other than to say, "something is wrong." The food simply isn't fresh. I ordered a Cuban sandwich on a hoagie and the roll clearly had not been baked that day and probably not the day before either. The sandwich itself was a mess with the meat only on one side of the roll and falling out. Not sure... but was that barbecue sauce? On a Cuban? Whatever it was just wasn't right and I was sorely tempted to throw out the second half of my sandwich. However, for what I paid, I felt obliged to eat it. I feel like this place is slipping with no recovery in sight. Don't think I'll be coming back. read more

Garelick & Herbs is that all-in-one shop with a little bit of everything- for everybody. Go in and you'll see different types of Salads, Pastas, meats and Seafood items. You can also have Sandwiches prepared. Just select the bread of your choice towards the left of the counter. Lots of Beverages, Hibiscus Iced Tea and a few other drinkables. I like Garelick's style because it almost reminds me of a quaint shop in the countryside. It's also filled with jams, Gourmet goodies and lots of Pastries. But on top of all that, there some interesting chackies and trinkets. Heads up, Garelick is tight and around Lunch time can be a bit chaotic. By the way the dining-in area has been remodeled and looks fabulous. At times when I have a longer Lunch break, I just sit in. But I like this quasi Bohemian look that they have here. Very dissapouted. we ordered a chicken Cob salad for two. large portion size but no flavor, no chicken or bacon, 1/2 hard boiled egg, a tiny bit of cheese . we ordered Dr Chicken noodle soup. it had lots of chopped celery...large chunks of dry overcooked chicken. the best thing about it was the orchiette pasta. Along the way, we worked with Lindsay W. to coordinate and plan out the details of the event, eventually settling on passed appetizers and two stations (we would highly recommend both the Risotto Station and Bao Bun Station). Lindsay was highly knowledgeable about how much to order / plan / select for the event (~115 people). What really exceeded our expectations was the professionalism and hard-work Lindsay and her team demonstrated at the event. The team showed up hours early to make sure everything was in place and we received only praise for their work from our family and friends. We feel so lucky to have had Garelick and Herbs cater this event and would highly recommend them to anyone for a catering job. Well done! read more

Walking into Garelick and Herb is a culinary experience. The food is artfully displayed , made fresh by amazing chefs. One of my favorites is the kale salad or anything with avocado. I enjoy meeting friends for lunch because there are so many choices with seating indoor or outdoor. And when I am not in the mood to cook i can always find fresh prepared choices, like tuna, salmon and Turkey meatloaf. Desserts are great too. Staff are friendly and helpful. Love that it is locally owned and in business for over 25 years. I visit all three stores. read more

Very disappointed. Ordered a salad from here for delivery. Lettuce was so wilted and watery and even worse they added the dressing in. I have never gotten a salad for delivery with the dressing already mixed in. I could barely eat it and had to pick around to eat the chicken and cucumbers. read more

I got a pretty solid panini here. Turkey, mozzarella, roasted red peppers and pesto. I'd definitely eat here again. I do have 2 complaints. 1. Keep the sandwich on the panini press a bit longer, the insides weren't warm 2. Get a cohesive sandwich menu with some pre-configured items. The "create your own" is nice, but sometimes you just want to walk into a place with a little bit of guidance. All in all a decent place, it's a bit tight inside, and some of the offerings were priced a bit high, but it's Greenwich and that's to be expected. read more

surprisingly, greenwich is lacking decent places to get fresh make-your-own salads. Came here for the first time, immediately noticed that everything was pretty overpriced, but i was here already. ($6 for a dip, $10 for mac and cheese, etc). they had a kale/artichoke dip out to taste - was a little too mayo-y for my taste. The salad was normal priced at 9.49 - got back to the office and realized they forgot the chicken on it.. ill probably be back to try again but will have to double check my order while i'm there, like everywhere else in greenwich which lack attention to detail. read more

Now having turned many friends/family onto G&H, I've never heard a complaint. My parents have driven 2 hours round trip just to get a pie. The staff is great, the selection is vast, and the food delicious. My biggest recommendations: anything avocado and the blueberry crumble pie (not together...or try them together and see what happens...it's your life-live it! I walked in Garelick & Herbs after using the Fed Ex store next door and instantly knew I'd like it. I did a make-your-own salad. Ingredients were all fresh, and there was a good selection of choices. The salad size was very nice. The coffee there was great, as well. They have a really nice selection of treats and their red licorice ropes were outstanding. I love all of their candy! One of my favorite places for a quick lunch. Lots of sandwich options. I usually go for a salad plate, I pick 3 or 4 of the freshly prepared salads, ask for a small scoop of each. Yum! But let's be serious, I go for the baked goods. The black and white cookies are the size of my head. The decorated sugar cookies are addictive. I sometimes go here because it is convenient to my office building - most of the times I get a salad which are always pretty good - one time I got a stuffed artichoke - it had a bug in the leaves - today I just went there for a salad and waited and waited while no one even came over to myself or two other women to take our order - finally I just grabbed a piece of Banana Bread - got back to my office opened it up and it had mold on it- the expiration was 7/28 so it still should have been good...the last time i grabbed a banana bread it was past expiration and still on the shelf.... not worth the money. read more

I come to G&H occasionally for the "choose your own salad" which is very good, but learned the other day that they are masters of something else. I needed ONE MORE Christmas Gift basket to give to a colleague, and both my high-end grocery stores failed me - I had purchased the entire daily inventory from one, and the other had run out of the actual wicker baskets, and would not deconstruct the one they had left (which was filled with a weird assortment of packaged or canned items which could have been re-stocked) in order to create a nice assortment - very disappointing. What to do??? Garelick and Herbs popped into my head. Sure enough, they would make a basket with the items I wanted and how much did I want to spend? "Sir, it will be ready in an hour." "What hour?" "An hour from right now." Given the fact that one of the high-end stores needed 3-4 days to construct a cheese basket, I was impressed - and it was Dec. 23rd. But that was nothing to how impressed and pleased I was when I picked up the basket. For $60, it was filled with a great assortment and large quantities of meats, cheeses, crackers, and oils, all in a quality wicker basket. Merry Christmas to me! And the staff was VERY cheerful. G&H has become my go-to for the rest of the year when I need gift baskets. read more

This is my go to place!! When it comes to a family gathering or holidays, I make sure to always grab a couple quiche & desserts. All baked in house, they are to die for and the varieties are endless! I'm a traveling makeup artist constantly on the road & they are a life saver! I pop in for a sandwich and keep traveling! No long waits and always fresh. This store has gone way downhill in recent years. I used to often stop for good coffee and a fresh flaky croissant. Now the coffee is often weak and the croissants are not flaky, but rather doughy, heavy and more like a Kaiser roll impersonating a croissant (Merde!) Bought the "Strawberry Shortcake Passover Cake" last year, beautiful! It got oohs and aahhs at the Sedar we went to. White cake with white frosting an delicious looking, large red strawberries on top and fresh strawberry filling in the middle. Same cake this year, no berries on top and canned preserve filling! Boring, and a complete rip off. The owners are coasting on their reputation. Beware of overpriced mediocre food and service. read more

There's one guy here who is lovely, but in general the customer service is severely lacking. You feel as if you're inconveniencing the staff by trying to place an order, and they certainly don't listen to you when you place your order. Tuna on your salad as a protein? You'll have to pay extra for that. Light on the salad dressing? I'm eating soup right now. I sometimes wonder if they do it on purpose. I keep giving these guys second chances because given what they offer they SHOULD be good (they could be good!) but they're not. I'm always disappointed and have finally given up. read more

The best gourmet store in Connecticut by far! I love all their salads, entrees and desserts. The magic bars are one of my favorite desserts of all time. Well worth the drive from NY to get.
