Neat brewery with a welcoming interior, the taproom is in front right when you walk in with a few tables and tall stools at the bar. The brewhouse is in the back mostly along the left wall - there's also a door in the rear that provides access to a outdoor patio beer garden. While there (yesterday 2024.12.07) there was a Santa at an elevated area with an open fire. I tried a flight of what looked to be the most interesting on the menu. There appears to be 16 available drinks on tap, including a couple of seltzers. I tried: * Berry Buzz fruited sour - Tasty little sour, dry tart body with notes of raspberry and a touch of lime, very clean. 4/5 * Holiday Hops hazy IPA - Fairly tasty IPA with a great mouthfeel, hoppy fragrant nose and slightly dry finish. 4/5 * Frogtality barleywine - As barleywine go, this is pretty basic, yet satisfying. Could definitely use more sweet malt, finishes fairly clean. 3.5/5 * Dark Side of the Pond brown ale - Not sure what's going on with this - registers more of a light porter with zero malt sweetness and a bitter burnt finish. Not a typical brown ale. 3/5 Service was awesome, easy to have a conversation with those working the bar. I'll return from time to time to see what's new.

The interior was fairly large, but a good half was separated by the large storage tankers and equipment. There were plenty of picnic style tables on either side of the bar though so seats were aplenty. There were also some high table top style seats and a few comfy seats near the goat paintings. Yes, there are goat paintings. Additionally there were two old school game consoles, but only was working. But it was a two for one game: Ms. Pac-Man and Galaga. This was free to play! And of course there were two T.V.'s with some sort of game playing in the background. Now for the alcohol itself... I tried a beer that had Naughty in its name which was fruity and had a low IBU (International Bitter Units). The strawberry margarita was super strong. But then again, I was sipping from the very bottom. I also sampled the hubs' stout and a watermelon lime beer to which both were pretty tasty. The vibe here was chill as it should be. One guy was super friendly throughout the whole evening engaging us in conversation and willing to help me find the perfect beer pairing according to my taste buds with a few sampling.

I have been wanting a Turkey burger for a few weeks so I finally decided to feed my craving! I…read moretypically go to LOL burger, but read a review that raved about the turkey burger at this spot! I was sold! I arrived around 3:30pm. They have a dedicated parking a lot that had plenty of open spots when I arrived. When I walked in I read the sign that said seat yourself, so I did just that . The wait staff immediately came over with a menu. She asked if I needed another drink besides water. I am not a fan of ice cold water so I did request water with no ice. I checked out the menu period to arriving so I already knew my order ! I opted for the turkey burger with Parmesan garlic fries. The sound of this had my mouth watering in anticipation as I waited for my food to arrive . It appears the food was cooked fresh because it took a good 15 minutes for my food to arrived. There were only two other patrons in the restaurant so they were not busy . When my food arrived - I got so excited to take that first bite . I started with the fries! I enjoyed them but I did not taste the garlic . Additionally I am accustomed toParmesan cheese being grated thin- the cheese on the fries did not look like Parmesan, but they were tasty! Would I order them again? - no- they just did not taste like Parmesan garlic fries so no need to pay extra for it next time . Now for the star of the show--- this turkey burger was amazing!! Here is the deal, the actual Pattie is nothing special - it's what is included with the Pattie that makes this good. The kale slaw , and the sauce - oh my gosh!! You get every macro you need , protein , carbs and fiber!!! Then to make it even better it has a spicy kick to it ! When I tell you I cleaned my plate ! There was not one crumb on my plate when I finished! My only complaint -- please clean the router and the items next to it ! I sat in the booth directly by the router and the amount of dust on that thing was disturbing ! I wanted to clean it myself! I am sure this does not need to be stated - but I will be back and I would recommended you check this spot out !

The service was the bomb and the food was very delicious. We ordered for the group three different types of mussels and a fried ball of beef (can't remember the name) for appetizers. This is a Belgian-inspired brewery, restaurant, bookstore, and beer garden all under one roof. Bold Monk is located in the Upper Westside of Atlanta, near Chattahoochee Food Works and Topgolf Atlanta Midtown. There's plenty of free parking around the building and on the street (Ellsworth Industrial Blvd NW). I like the space here because there are various spaces inside and "outside" to spread out and hang out. I put "outside" in quotes because their patio is fully covered and enclosed -- good for bad weather. I had the Presence Pilsner (lager, 4.8%, 16 oz, $7). It was cold, crisp, and refreshing. I recommend it. The menu describes it as offering a "soft bready malt, delicate herbal and floral hop notes, and clean, dry finish." For dinner, I had the Salmon Dip ($16) to start and the Steak + Frites (market price) as my main. The Salmon Dip is made with house-cured salmon and tarragon aioli, and comes with thin toast triangles. The Steak + Frites is "chef's cut" (not sure which, didn't ask) and comes with Bearnaise, arugula, and Belgian frites (fries). The Bearnaise went great with both the steak and the fries. Bold Monk is known for their Belgian Frites, "The Original French Fry," which comes with a variety of sauces and in a few different styles. They also offer a variety of mussels and pizza. My buddy had one of the pizzas, "the 1838," I believe, which comes with different mushrooms, mozzarella, and house-made truffle ricotta. He seemed to enjoy it. The pizzas - the 1836, the 1899, the 1838, the 1850, and the 1862 - are all named after years that monasteries opened in Europe. I ordered my steak medium rare and it came out just right. The quality of the cut was average/about what you'd expect for budget-friendly steak frites (it's no Bar Blanc in terms of cut quality). But still, that and the Salmon Dip were tasty and satisfying enough. Good service from both our server and the host/manager, who made sure my friend did not leave his jacket behind. Bold Monk opened in December 2019.
