mango margarita
Catherine L.

Some friends showed us this place and it was a local gem. Garibaldi Mexican Restaurant and Bar has a bit of a reputation in Apopka and with locals for being the place to go to celebrate an occasion. This is cool as it sounds like the local hispanic version of Chili's. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Honestly walking in, it's lively and the music is loud and it seems like fun.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were sat in a corner but the staff was attentive. I got the fish tacos and we got the queso and chips for the table. Both were good, but the winner is really the gigantic margarita. I mean it's huge. Like the size of my head big. The portions were big and everything came with rice and beans and some salad. It was good, but probably a bit pricey for what it was. The fish tacos were a 7/10, I think it could have had some breading or something or more sauce. The queso was an 8.5/10, this was excellent and delicious. It comes in one of those metal containers that keeps the heat going for longer so it's sizzling a little when it gets to the table. The mango margarita was a 10/10. I mean again, drink the size of my head. I think the bill came out to be about $60 total. I think this place was really cool, although I may not go again unless one of my friends wanted to go. Overall, 8/10 for the whole restaurant.

Service was super quick and everything came out hot. I got the taco salad and the Ceviche. Their ceviche is one of my favorites. Taco salad is a nice portion and could easily be shared. Their food tastes really authentic and not overly processed. Our waiter was attentive and was really good. A great place for lunch or a fun night out with friends. Their margaritas will get you right!

Always a great spot to get some fresh and flavorful Mexican food. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It can get pretty busy in the evenings, so definitely plan accordingly if you have a party larger than 2-4 guests.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We enjoy getting the trio dip and birria empanadas. I have also been for lunch and the lunch specials are budget friendly priced!

We always have a great meal here. Tonight we came to celebrate our friends birthday. The drinks were strong and the food was delicious. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Always full of flavor always a very lively crowd.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service is great here. Everyone is always so helpful and welcoming. We live pretty close so we try to come here every once in a while

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This place is a lot bigger than you would think from what you see on the outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were seated outside (our preference).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were greeted right away with some fresh salsa and chips. They were super amazing. We both went with the shrimp quesadillas and they came out hot and cooked exactly as we wanted. They were super delicious and the perfect balance of flavors. Servers did check on us a few times and were all super friendly. Can't wait to go back and bring the rest of my family to try some more items.

This is a very trendy Mexican place. The food was great with good chips and salsa. I had a wet burrito with beans and rice that were very good. The service was fast and nice. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We ate outside that was very nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I would recommend highly for a nice trendy place to get food in Apopka.

This was my first visit to Florida, and my family brought me here to try a local Mexican restaurant. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Right away, the layout and design stood out--very welcoming, clean, and nicely done.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were seated quickly and quietly, ordered drinks, and waited comfortably for my sister to arrive. Chips and salsa were brought out promptly. The salsa was decent--one of my sisters thought it was too hot, but I didn't find it spicy at all. Being from Oklahoma, I quickly realized there are some regional differences in how Mexican restaurants operate, and that led to a bit of confusion. Where I'm from, it's common to receive (or request) flour tortillas along with a relish tray--typically marinated carrots, onions, and jalapeños. That setup isn't standard here. When we asked, the server returned with sliced radishes and three flour tortillas wrapped in foil, which wasn't quite what I was expecting. There was a bit of a communication barrier, but everyone was friendly and we managed to place our orders without issue. Once the food arrived, the presentation was very nice and everything was cooked properly. My main entrée actually turned out better than I expected, which was a pleasant surprise. Still stuck on my "relish dilemma," I decided to pass on dessert. Back home, complimentary sopapillas are pretty much a given at Mexican restaurants, so skipping dessert felt natural once I realized that wasn't part of the experience here. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall, this is a solid spot and a good venue for a family meal.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] While it didn't fully meet the expectations I typically have for a Mexican restaurant, that may simply come down to regional style differences rather than quality. If you're local or familiar with Florida-style Mexican dining, this may hit the mark better than it did for this Oklahoma visitor.

Margaritas

We arrived at Garibaldi expecting an average lunch but left having reached food nirvana. Garibaldi has definitely taken the spot as my top Mexican restaurant (so far) in this area! The decor is gorgeous, the staff were so kind (we brought our dog and sat outside.. everybody seemed to love him!), and there was even a mariachi band playing for some entertainment outside! My fiancé and I have an unspoken rule... when we dine in at a Mexican place, we must get a margarita. The pricing of their 28oz margarita was only about $2 than the smaller size one so this is a big fat plus in my book! The strawberry and spicy mango margaritas were both delicious. We ordered a Queso Fundido since we love cheese and chorizo (check out the cheese pull in the video). It came out very quickly with some fresh tortillas. I definitely thought this was going to be my favorite dish of the day since it made my eyes roll, but then we ordered the Fajitas Garibaldi Deluxe. Everything was cooked to perfection. We will absolutely 110% be back!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Beautiful restaurant with beautiful decorations inside as well as outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's a pretty outdoor area with lights.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service is great, usually always a table available upon arrival. The staff are super friendly and come check on you multiple times and of course the food comes out hot, fresh and tasty.

Food was good our first choice had lost power so we went here. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The music was a bit too load for us.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was quick and efficient.

I have been a Garibaldi regular for as long as I can remember (shout out to their old location across the street!), and it's the epitome of a 5 star restaurant. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Extremely consistent, friendly staff, and awesome atmosphere perfect for family dinners or a night out with friends![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My favorite items are the fajitas, enchiladas verdes, any of their tacos, and the ceviche is an amazing starting dish! Their drinks are always spectacular and you will not be disappointed in their skinny margarita

Is this place still open on Semaron?

I have been coming to Propagate since we started building our home and have really enjoyed seeing their business flourish over the past few years. They have a loyal customer in me and I cannot wait to see what's next. I digress, the service at The Shade House is stellar, the cocktails are creative, and the vibe is an extension of Propagates but with some added spice. You guys outdid yourselves on this one.
