At this point, their staff should probably have our margaritas rims ready before we even sit down. I've worked my way through quite a bit of the menu, and one thing remains true: the food is always fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicioso. Our favorites include the salsa, queso, chips & guacamole (because let's be honest, chips and salsa are basically a love language), the Birria Empanadas, and the Steak Garibaldi. Every bite is so good it's practically a queso emergency when the plate is empty. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere is lively, welcoming, and perfect whether you're planning a girls' night, date night, Taco Tuesday, or simply looking for an excuse to avoid cooking.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff is always friendly, attentive, and helps keep the good vibes flowing right alongside the margaritas. Speaking of margaritas... the tropical mango margarita with the Tajín rim deserves its own Yelp page. Sweet, tangy, refreshing, and dangerously easy to order "just one more." Was recommended to this place by a coworker and it was really good! [[HIGHLIGHT]]And it was pretty busy when we went on a weeknight.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] So there was a little bit of a delay on service but not bad. I thought they handled pretty well. My daughter and I shared the fajitas for 2, husband got the pick 3, and son had the California burrito. Firstly that Cali burrito was HUGE! But of course my teen devored it. So what I assumed is what he said that it was sooo good. The fajitas tasted awesome, it is a lot of food as well so just be prepared. My husband really enjoyed his 3 item. He got a hard taco, chili relleno, and a enchilada with beef. Then we decided to get dessert anyhoo, the churros for the teens and the fried ice cream! Some friends showed us this place and it was a local gem. Garibaldi Mexican Restaurant and Bar has a bit of a reputation in Apopka and with locals for being the place to go to celebrate an occasion. This is cool as it sounds like the local hispanic version of Chili's. I got the fish tacos and we got the queso and chips for the table. Both were good, but the winner is really the gigantic margarita. I mean it's huge. Like the size of my head big. The portions were big and everything came with rice and beans and some salad. It was good, but probably a bit pricey for what it was. The fish tacos were a 7/10, I think it could have had some breading or something or more sauce. The queso was an 8.5/10, this was excellent and delicious. It comes in one of those metal containers that keeps the heat going for longer so it's sizzling a little when it gets to the table. The mango margarita was a 10/10. I mean again, drink the size of my head. I think the bill came out to be about $60 total. I think this place was really cool, although I may not go again unless one of my friends wanted to go. Service was super quick and everything came out hot. I got the taco salad and the Ceviche. Their ceviche is one of my favorites. Taco salad is a nice portion and could easily be shared. This was my first visit to Florida, and my family brought me here to try a local Mexican restaurant. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Right away, the layout and design stood out--very welcoming, clean, and nicely done.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were seated quickly and quietly, ordered drinks, and waited comfortably for my sister to arrive. Chips and salsa were brought out promptly. The salsa was decent--one of my sisters thought it was too hot, but I didn't find it spicy at all. Being from Oklahoma, I quickly realized there are some regional differences in how Mexican restaurants operate, and that led to a bit of confusion. Where I'm from, it's common to receive (or request) flour tortillas along with a relish tray--typically marinated carrots, onions, and jalapeños. That setup isn't standard here. When we asked, the server returned with sliced radishes and three flour tortillas wrapped in foil, which wasn't quite what I was expecting. There was a bit of a communication barrier, but everyone was friendly and we managed to place our orders without issue. Once the food arrived, the presentation was very nice and everything was cooked properly. My main entrée actually turned out better than I expected, which was a pleasant surprise. Still stuck on my "relish dilemma," I decided to pass on dessert. Back home, complimentary sopapillas are pretty much a given at Mexican restaurants, so skipping dessert felt natural once I realized that wasn't part of the experience here. We arrived at Garibaldi expecting an average lunch but left having reached food nirvana. Garibaldi has definitely taken the spot as my top Mexican restaurant (so far) in this area! The decor is gorgeous, the staff were so kind (we brought our dog and sat outside.. everybody seemed to love him!), and there was even a mariachi band playing for some entertainment outside! My fiancé and I have an unspoken rule... when we dine in at a Mexican place, we must get a margarita. The pricing of their 28oz margarita was only about $2 than the smaller size one so this is a big fat plus in my book! The strawberry and spicy mango margaritas were both delicious. We ordered a Queso Fundido since we love cheese and chorizo (check out the cheese pull in the video). It came out very quickly with some fresh tortillas. I definitely thought this was going to be my favorite dish of the day since it made my eyes roll, but then we ordered the Fajitas Garibaldi Deluxe. Everything was cooked to perfection. We have been eating here for years, and I have written a positive review in the past but I am rescinding any positive rating after our experience last night. My husband and I are with friends, ordered margaritas and my husband got a chicken salad. After about three bites of salad he grabbed his mouth in pain and spit out a rock....yes, a literal ROCK was in his salad, and he bit down on it, hurting his tooth. We all examined it, kind of in shock at what has happened. We let our waitress know and she took the salad and rock away. We expected to see a manager come to greet us immediately but no, no manager ever came. Our waitress checked us out and nobody came so we asked to see a manager. What if his tooth is broken? Who would we call or notify and remedy this, etc? Hector came to our table and identified himself as the manager. When we asked why he had not come to check on my husband he said the waitress told him "they are fine" so he didn't bother. I was appalled. I told him that a manager should come and personally be sure the customer was ok. He then was disrespectful to me, in front of our friends and told me "I am not talking to you, this is between me and him" pointing to my husband. It was so dismissive and disrespectful that my friend's husband immediately told him that they too had been eating there for years and would never come back after the way he just treated and spoke to me. He refused to give us a business card or name of a person to call if my husband had a tooth issue, told us to "come back, you know where we are," and said "trust me" several times but never offered a name, number, business card or contact as to how this would be handled if his tooth was cracked. Told me to "write the owner," which we will be doing. Sad to say, regardless of our tooth outcome, when management cares for customers this way it is a tell-tale sign that your business is not something they value. As a manager myself, I would never treat a customer the way Hector spoke to me last night. Garabaldi's has lost our business for life. read more

We visited Garibaldi at the recommendation of friends. It's a bit of a drive for us, but it's nice to get away from chain restaurants. The restaurant is in a strip mall, but on a corner, and they've done a great job with the interior and exterior to make it not feel like a strip mall. The outside seating area is positioned well to create a pretty large covered space, decorated with many plants so you don't feel like you're sitting next to a parking lot. Inside is beautifully decorated, too, creating a vibrant, youthful, fun atmosphere. It doesn't feel like your typical local Mexican restaurant. We ended up sitting at a hightop in the bar area. The menu is extensive, and I had a hard time narrowing down my options to one. I went with the Choripollo, which was a dish consisting of chicken breast topped with chorizo and cheese. It came with rice and beans, as well as tortillas to roll up the chicken/chorizo/cheese deliciousness. The entrees were decently priced The service was fantastic. Oh, perhaps because I'm in a different county which makes me envious of the Apopka locals for having such a great spot in their neighborhood. For starters the outside decor of the place is intriguing - like your walking through a garden. As soon as you step inside first you don't realize how big it is (that's what she said), and suddenly you've walked into a Mexican Sports Bar Restaurant Club. Great ambiance that just called us to sit bar side. Quickly ordered the House Marg which was good. Good mix that wasn't overly sour or sweet which I appreciated. After one I felt a bit of a tingle but not quite a buzz like I expected so that encouraged me to order one more - then a buzz crept up. Next time I'll try a specialty marg to see if the tequila content is higher. Ordered a chimichanga with shredded chicken which was delish! Bravo! Overall great experience. Perhaps next time the marg will have a bit more oomph. read more

I came in here for lunch with a larger group. Our server was very attentive and friendly. I ordered the hard tacos with ground beef. The beef was well seasoned and came out hot. The only reason they lost a star was because my taco shells were soggy and fell apart immediately when I picked them up. I ended up scooping up my taco fillings with the complimentary chips. Garibaldi's is a staple here in Apopka. It used to be located in the Wekiva Riverwalk, but now it's in the plaza across the street where the Hobby Lobby is. This place is always busy... service is usually courteous and quick. They are very helpful if you don't know what you want and will suggest plates tailored to your appetite. This place is very loud... music is always on and depending on the time you come, you might hear Latin music or might feel like you are in a club.... With house or techno music... yeah you heard right. LOL. Food is good... It's usually hot.... I say usually cause my wife got a plate once where even the plate was hot but the chicken inside her burrito was .... Umm cold... so just check your food... flavors are there... salsa and the sauces are delicious. Rice and beans are flavorful also. All in all it's a good place for friends and family.... Recently visited this place after a year; We got there around nine and our server was taking forever to take our order which I understand sometimes they're very busy when he finally got to our table we told him we were ready to order but only took our drinks order so we kept waiting; when he finally took our order we were very specific with our order, we ordered a molcajete with out shrimp due to my husband allergies and whenever the food got there it had shrimp. We couldn't find our server to let him know we had to let someone else know that there was a mistake with our order time past and he finally came to our table we told him about the issue and he order another molcajete. Our food got there but by the time it got there it was closing time we felt so rushed and I felt like the molcajete was kinda small compared to other restaurants. I don't see myself coming back unless is with some girlfriends for drinks. I don't think I see it as family friendly, its more like a bar that sales food it's just way too loud it's hard to have a conversation due to all the noise. read more

I was invited to this restaurant by a family friend celebrating his birthday this weekend. The restaurant had great vibes. The courtyard area had heat lamps that kept us warm and toasty. I ordered the Garibaldi mojito and grilled chicken tacos. The mojito was not authentic. I can tell it was made from a mix. The chicken was dry and not very seasoned. Wanted to try it again....Lalo isn't here anymore. The menu reflects the booze actually used and the prices. It's been 3 years. About time he was fired. It used to be 1800 and he would use a giant bottle of $3 swill in place of the 1800.drinks and lie about it even when we called him out. I don't have a gallbladder, so 3 sips and I was TKO. Not drunk, just barfing and crapping my pants. I wanted to try here again and let them know why we stopped coming several times a week. They knew exactly who I was talking about, I didn't have to call him out. I wasn't going to run to their bathroom this time. I was going to barf on their counter. Had zero problems. We had Zuli and Sergio tonight. They were great. They were HONEST. So no stomach issues. Like when we first came here. Zuli has been here for a while, never had an issue with her. This is one of those places that is always full of life with its loud music, high traffic, and food all around. Of course, I figured while exploring the area, it's worth trying out! Parking was very easy as the place is in a plaza. As I arrived with my group of friends, we were impressed by the decor - It's colorful, simple, very bright, and inviting. We were seen by the staff and seated immediately. They were very friendly and brought our drinks and house chips really quickly. As we sat and talked, I started to notice a few problems. The place has its tables a little too close to each other. The table next to us was so close, we could hear their conversation clearly and I'm sure they could hear ours. We were no further than 2 feet apart from each other and it was a little weird having strangers so close while talking and eating. That's when I noticed another problem - servers and customers constantly bump into one another while walking. Tables are so close to each other that there was only space for one person to pass by. This is especially dangerous when some servers are balancing multiple plates with sizzling hot food on their arms. Eventually our food arrived and it looked, smelled, and tasted delicious. But once again, my friends and I realized that the portions were very small and very oily. I ordered the Choripollo and I knew it would taste great. It was a flattened chicken with chopped up chorizo drizzled on top. It came with a scoop of rice and a small cup of refried beans. For the prices we were paying, we were expecting a full belly (or leftovers for small eaters). Two of my three other friends also said they weren't satisfied with their portions and we were craving more food when we were done. Overall, I view this place as an expensive fast food Mexican place. Keeping in mind the amount of oil and grease the food had, it tasted really good. Perhaps with a couple layout changes as well as a better food quality check I'd consider coming back. read more
