I'll start by saying that ... in reading some of the "negative" reviews on here ... people really will find anything to complain about. I love Mexican food. This place is a hidden gem!! If you're driving too fast on the 436, you will easily pass it. It's tucked back off the road, look for their blue sign or the inflatable tube man (that is usually waving its arms in the wind). Service is excellent, super friendly and welcoming. The spot is always very clean and inviting. Traditional Mexican music videos playing on a few tv screens, nothing too distracting...adds to the ambiance. We've tried quite a few dishes here and have never been disappointed: chicken enchiladas with house "special sauce", shrimp and mushroom enchiladas, the chicken tortilla soup is really flavorful and LARGE, grande burrito, chimichanga, and we always order guacamole. They never have a lot of customers (I would assume because of the set back location), I hate sharing one of my local favs but, I definitely want them to stay in business!

This restaurant is tucked away amongst busy state road 436. It has a private parking lot dedicated to the patrons. The food was excellent and served quickly. The dining area is cozy and clean. Staff were friendly and the food was plentiful.

Can I share a secret? Zocalo 436 is local restaurant that serves up some great Mexican food! The spot took over another restaurant on 436 in Casselberry after they closed (RIP). The inside is cutely decorated. There is even a fun mural in the outside of the building. After you're seated, you'll be served complimentary chips and salsa. My favorite dish that I've tried is the birriaquillas. It is very filling. Taco Tuesday is an excellent deal with $2 tacos. As a dessert, the churros with ice cream is the way to go. Service is friendly and fast! I will be happy to return!

Vivian was the sweetest and most attentive server. The decor was very modern, but had a wonderful Mexican flair. The restaurant was incredibly clean. Really love that. All the food was very, very fresh and tasty.

Great food, good prices and friendly service. What more could you want? Oh... unlimited chips and salsa, they have that too. They even offer an extra spicy salsa, if you so dare. The atmosphere was simple, clean and welcoming. If you're in the area and craving Mexican food, it's a good spot to stop.

I'll start by saying that I can't give a Mexican restaurant a 5-star review when the music they play is anything but Mexican. It's disappointing, especially considering the rich and diverse musical talent Mexico has to offer. I've noticed this trend with other restaurants as well, and it's frustrating. Mexican music would add so much to the atmosphere, and it's a missed opportunity. We visited on a Friday night, and the restaurant wasn't busy when we arrived, so we were seated right away. The service was good--the staff were very nice and attentive. The server promptly took our drink order and brought chips to the table. One thing I found odd was that it's hard to tell the servers apart from the regular customers at first. They don't wear uniforms or name tags, which could make the experience a bit confusing. Also, be prepared to bring a jacket because the air conditioning is uncomfortably cold. As for the food, I ordered the Fried Pork Belly Ceviche. I was expecting a generous portion of guacamole to accompany it, but instead, there was just a small spoonful. The Parrilla was good, nothing crazy. The flavor was okay--not bad, but nothing exceptional--and the pork belly wasn't as crunchy as I had hoped. Overall, the food is average, nothing special. I might visit again, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it.

We really enjoy this place. It's close to church and the service is friendly and quick. The food is consistently good and the restaurant is always well kept.

We went there for lunch. The food was good. A little on the pricey side for Mexican, but everything is going up. I'd recommend this place

Absolutely delicious. The spicy salsa(not the regular though the regular was super good) will knock you down with how spicy it is but the flavor also holds up! I had the Devil shrimp (I know it as camarones a la diabla) and it was the best I have had in years. I ate the whole plate and I never do that. My fiancé got the burrito paisa and it was delicious, fresh ingredients and well put together. Margaritas tasted refreshing! I will be coming back as often as I can!

Wow! The food here was amazing! The fajitas were so hot. They also had tomato's and zucchini with the peppers and onions, which as a pleasant surprise. Margarita was huge and they gave you a cold mug with their beer. Definitely will be back!

Food is phenomenal at this place ! Great variety of Mexican cuisine, great music and service ! My favorite were the birria tacos and beef chimichanga, but everything has an amazing flavor, don't second guess your self to try this new restaurant!!!

We were greeted right upon entry and there was plenty of seating around. They have a diverse menu with plenty of options for people who both enjoy spicy food and non-spicy food. They also have a full bar if you would like a drink. The overall ambience is very cantina like. They have wooden chairs wooden tables and a bar at the center. They do have some very colorful decor around as well. Staff was friendly throughout. I opted for the burrito and it was ginormous and I definitely couldn't finish all of it. Definitely well worth the price point for the amount of food that you're given. Everybody was very happy with their meals and drinks and I'll definitely be returning to this location. Overall: A+ Easy to see why this is a local favorite. Definitely will be back for more off of the menu!

It is always busy after work because the place is that good. On our recent visit we ordered a beef dip to have with the chips and salsa. They also have a tasty guacamole on the menu. For drinks we've gotten the pitcher of margaritas our last two visits and it really is the perfect amount for 2 or 3 people. Each person gets at least 2 glasses full which is a great value for the price. Things we like: Pastor Tacos, Nortenos Tacos, Tacos Gringos, queso dip, and the rice and beans with the main dish. Service is always wonderful, the staff is attentive and helpful if you want recommendations. If the dining room looks full, try sitting at the bar and you'll be right at home.

My only complaints would be that the music is a little loud, and with the restaurant being packed, there doesn't seem to be much acoustical treatment to help with the noise, so it can get a bit overwhelming. Our server also could've been a little more attentive throughout the evening. Other than that, we had a good experience and enjoyed our dinner!

This place is definitely made for people who eat with their eyes first. The hanging flowers, greenery, moody lighting and gorgeous decor will have you taking tons of photos before you even look at the menu. We started with drinks. I got the Amor y Vida and it was as pretty as it was delicious. The tajin rim gave a nice kick to this sweet drink. I need to come back and try more of their uniquely presented drinks. For food we started with chips and salsa. Give me chips in a flowerpot and suddenly I am fancy. Then we ordered the Tostones and Plantain Roll with Salmon. Just a heads up, do not order any additional meat or seafood with the Tostones. This dish is fabulous on it's own. The Plantain Roll was an unexpected combination that my tastebuds thoroughly enjoyed. It was definitely not your typical sushi roll. We sat at the bar and our bartender took great care of us. Between the environment, creative menu and friendly service, this was definitely a fun experience. I would suggest you come hungry, but make sure your phone is charged because at this spot, the camera most certainly eats first.
