Can I share a secret? Zocalo 436 is local restaurant that serves up some great Mexican food! The spot took over another restaurant on 436 in Casselberry after they closed (RIP). The inside is cutely decorated. There is even a fun mural in the outside of the building. After you're seated, you'll be served complimentary chips and salsa. My favorite dish that I've tried is the birriaquillas. It is very filling. Taco Tuesday is an excellent deal with $2 tacos. As a dessert, the churros with ice cream is the way to go. Service is friendly and fast! I will be happy to return!

Vivian was the sweetest and most attentive server. The decor was very modern, but had a wonderful Mexican flair. The restaurant was incredibly clean. Really love that. All the food was very, very fresh and tasty.

Great food, good prices and friendly service. What more could you want? Oh... unlimited chips and salsa, they have that too. They even offer an extra spicy salsa, if you so dare. The atmosphere was simple, clean and welcoming. If you're in the area and craving Mexican food, it's a good spot to stop.

I'll start by saying that I can't give a Mexican restaurant a 5-star review when the music they play is anything but Mexican. It's disappointing, especially considering the rich and diverse musical talent Mexico has to offer. I've noticed this trend with other restaurants as well, and it's frustrating. Mexican music would add so much to the atmosphere, and it's a missed opportunity. We visited on a Friday night, and the restaurant wasn't busy when we arrived, so we were seated right away. The service was good--the staff were very nice and attentive. The server promptly took our drink order and brought chips to the table. One thing I found odd was that it's hard to tell the servers apart from the regular customers at first. They don't wear uniforms or name tags, which could make the experience a bit confusing. Also, be prepared to bring a jacket because the air conditioning is uncomfortably cold. As for the food, I ordered the Fried Pork Belly Ceviche. I was expecting a generous portion of guacamole to accompany it, but instead, there was just a small spoonful. The Parrilla was good, nothing crazy. The flavor was okay--not bad, but nothing exceptional--and the pork belly wasn't as crunchy as I had hoped. Overall, the food is average, nothing special. I might visit again, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it.

We really enjoy this place. It's close to church and the service is friendly and quick. The food is consistently good and the restaurant is always well kept.

We went there for lunch. The food was good. A little on the pricey side for Mexican, but everything is going up. I'd recommend this place

Absolutely delicious. The spicy salsa(not the regular though the regular was super good) will knock you down with how spicy it is but the flavor also holds up! I had the Devil shrimp (I know it as camarones a la diabla) and it was the best I have had in years. I ate the whole plate and I never do that. My fiancé got the burrito paisa and it was delicious, fresh ingredients and well put together. Margaritas tasted refreshing! I will be coming back as often as I can!

Wow! The food here was amazing! The fajitas were so hot. They also had tomato's and zucchini with the peppers and onions, which as a pleasant surprise. Margarita was huge and they gave you a cold mug with their beer. Definitely will be back!

Food is phenomenal at this place ! Great variety of Mexican cuisine, great music and service ! My favorite were the birria tacos and beef chimichanga, but everything has an amazing flavor, don't second guess your self to try this new restaurant!!!

I'm partial to margaritas on the rocks with a salted rim, and these were tasty without needing any tequila upgrades. Sitting at the bar, I was promptly served thin, hot, crispy tortilla chips alongside a smooth, slightly spicy cilantro-forward picante. The chips had just the right amount of salt and were clearly fresh. When I asked for something spicier, the server delivered two small squeeze bottles of what I can only describe as liquid gold -- one habanero and one jalapeño. Both were excellent: the habanero packed serious heat, while the jalapeno had a brighter, more floral flavor. A quick dip in the picante followed by a single drop of the habanero sauce delivered exactly the under-the-eye sweat I look for in a good hot sauce experience. For this Sunday lunch, I went with the Al Pastor tacos -- three medium-sized soft tortillas filled with chunky, well-marinated pork. They were served with a side of freshly chopped white onion and cilantro, along with Mexican rice and refried beans. All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch while watching an NBA game on TV and listening to Spanish salsa music playing overhead. The restaurant wasn't crowded around 1:30 PM, and the staff remained attentive throughout the visit.

We were greeted right upon entry and there was plenty of seating around. They have a diverse menu with plenty of options for people who both enjoy spicy food and non-spicy food. They do have some very colorful decor around as well. Staff was friendly throughout. I opted for the burrito and it was ginormous and I definitely couldn't finish all of it. Definitely well worth the price point for the amount of food that you're given. Everybody was very happy with their meals and drinks and I'll definitely be returning to this location. Each person gets at least 2 glasses full which is a great value for the price. Things we like: Pastor Tacos, Nortenos Tacos, Tacos Gringos, queso dip, and the rice and beans with the main dish. Service is always wonderful, the staff is attentive and helpful if you want recommendations. If the dining room looks full, try sitting at the bar and you'll be right at home.
