I went in already knowing what flights I wanted and where I wanted to stay...how hard was this for her to book... well let me tell you about the colossal error she made in booking my trip. I flew into Panama City and out to Bocas Del Toro on the first day. I was then SUPPOSED to fly out of Bocas and into Panama City at the end of my trip to spend a day and a 1/2 exploring the city before heading back to the states. First of all, she changed the flight from the morning to the afternoon (there are only 2 flights a day), from the quote to the booking, Taking away a good portion of my trip to Panama City. But to make matters even worse.... SHE BOOKED MY RETURN TICKET FROM BOCAS TO PANAMA CITY FOR THE WRONG DATE! (I was there in February and my ticket was booked for March!) On my itinerary, it was the correct date, but when I arrived at the Bocas airport, they showed me that it was booked for a different date and told me I couldn't fly out until the next day. I had to run around trying to find a hotel room and changed my flights. I got the last hotel room in Bocas (it is the size of a single street). Then upon my return, she argued with me over paying for the hotel room. Saying that it was too much and I must have charged food to my room (AS IF I COULD HAVE). I also booked drivers thru her and didn't utilize one of my drivers (DUE TO HER ERROR) and she refused to refund that money also. DO NOT BOOK ANYTHING WITH ALMA! Due to tropical storm Bill, we were stuck in Houston for 3 days due to United cancelled flights to Costa Rica. I was in contact with my travel agent who was in contact with Alma. They did everything to change the transfers, hotels in a never ending few days of constant changes. Even once in CR, they worked with the resort to extend our stay a couple of days. They worked with the other resort to change dates. Once we were in Puerto Viejo, we learned once again Mother Nature was at it and there was a storm that caused a landslide. We were a 5 hour car trip from the airport. We requested the time be changed to leave earlier and once again, it came through. We are very pleased with the service we received from not only our agent but from Alama and Eco. We are planning on going back and I will not hesitate to use them again.

Well, I went against my better judgmene to belive any mode of public transporatation in the Bay Area as reliable. During my enrollment at SJSU I took the 68 bus to the lightrail and was consistetnly late, making me late my 30+ mins. Didn't matter if I conitunted to attempt the catch the earlier bus, some buses wouln't even show up! I finally called VTA in rage asking why some shceuled busses don't show up, why the busses are alwarys late, and why during route, the driver would just stop and sit at stop that had no people waiting and nobody requested the stop. Her reponse was due to the shortage of drivers and the stopping/waiting for periods of time was due to becuase "sometimes the drivers are earlier". SO VTA clearly can't get a single thing right. I gave up and endured the commute. So today, Novemeber 1st, 23, I arrive at the Giroy transit station at 6:08am to the catch the 6:29am 303 CalTrain to Palo Alto which is scheduled to arrive in Palo Alto at 7:52am. To make this short, the train was never stationed! In fact, all three scheudled trains after the 6:29am train, enevr departed. Everyone (30+ people) weren't notiified until 6:45am by an employee stated there was a "computer issue like week guys". He stated they didn't know when they would depart and they're trying a different train (the 6:50am train). So for over an hour, CalTrain employees sat in the same train as we outside on "standby" with no estimate of departue. Instead, they stated we can take the express bus to Diridon Stattiona the would honor out CalTrain ticket. First, not everyone is going to SJ, others Palo Alto like me, some Belmont, some SF, what were are options??? Oh right, to go sit in prime time traffic that we could have missed if we left the same time we were waiting for the Train to leave. Second, anyone who took the Express Bus would have serverly overpaid as CalTrain fares are more expensive. At 7:30am, as no update was given and the employee standing there, I left to go sit in an hour and fifty minutes to get to Palo Alto. Before I got on the road, I called the CalTrain customer service and to tell them about the siutation. The lady stated CalTrain knows. I told her how myself and other not olny are know over an hour late for work, but we just lost close to 2 hours of pay. I told this is my first time taking CalTrain in over 10 years and this is not a good first impression back. I asked how oftern does this happen becuase CalTrain is not comming off as a reliable source of transporation and you know what she said?? She told me the same thing happnede last for a couple of days, the week after last, and a feew times last maonth!!!!! I told her that is abosutly ridoucouls and how could CalTrain even justify their fare prices and the upcoming fare increase! She stated, "well, it's old system and the fare increase is going to replce the old system that will happned around Fall next year." I said, I don't have until next year to wait for a reliable train, I am suppose to be at work in 30 mins. So, what are my options and most likely yours?? Either move as close to possible to where you work or simple move out this is god for saken area! II'm born and raised here in Gilroy, live in two other big metro areas out of state and have been all over the world. I can say with 100% confence the ublic transportation system in the Bay Area is literally thw orst in the world! On of that, this place, the weather, the salary isn't worth dacfrices sitting in stop and go traffic for 3 hour a day just to go 30 miles, yes, I'm taking aobut SJ as well. Caltrain sohuld be absoutly embarssed after today's ordeal. There's literally no justification for what there charging especially when with a commuter car the get 30 miles a gallon, it literally the same price if not cheaper (even with $5 gas) to take CalTrain. This year was our first time attending the Gilroy Garlic Festival. It is a cute event, but this was…read moreour "once and done" participation. In our opinion, the hype is not justified. It was difficult to get tickets to begin with, as they open sales to the locals first and everyone else can get tickets a couple weeks later. The ticket price was OK with $35 per person as the I assume that the location and the bands had to be paid somehow. But anything after that is where I cut stars. Here is the good: the location was the fairgrounds next to Gilroy Gardens. There was plenty of parking (more on that in the "bad" section). There was a lot of security around, and they had many volunteers who helped out. The event also had quite a number of porta potties, which were at least initially very clean. Plenty of hand washing stations with soap and paper towels were provided. There was also a water bottle refill station. The water came basically just out of a hose and was luke-warm, but at least people had access to water. The event started at 10 am, and right off the batch, the first band played. We were there for about 3.5 hours, which was more than needed to cover everything including eating, but we were able to catch bits and pieces of 3 different bands. One of the bands was country, and they were wonderful. The last band we were able to catch was called Neverland. Goodness gracious, that band was phenomenal. The lead singer had quite a voice! Very, very great coverage of good ol' American rock. The weather was very hot that day, and the fairgrounds offered some shady spots. A few more seating options would have been nice, but some people just resorted to sitting in the grass. The Gourmet Alley had sails covering all the tables and benches, which helped to offset some of the heat and sun exposure. A few vendors had set up little tables and gave away freebies like squishies, fans, little toys, etc. Maria's ice cream (I hope I remember that correctly) gave away free small cups of vanilla-garlic ice cream for everyone to try. Right next to that stand was Tooms who gave away little cups with pretzels and the most amazing garlic dip that I have ever tasted. Turns out Costco sometimes sells that garlic dip. Cannot wait to find and buy it. It's incredible! And now a few things that are the reason why this was a once and done for us. First of all, parking in the dirt lot was $26 something per car. Very unnecessary to charge for that! By the time you get the tickets for 4 and parking, you are out about $180 with all the "fees" they tag on. Secondly, upon getting in line to check in, we had to dump out our nice ice cold water. I don't buy that this is for "security reasons" as they are selling plenty of booze inside. So plain greed it is! Thirdly, just like any fair (i.e. something like the Del Mar Fair), all the food and drink items are hopelessly overpriced. I guess it can be expected, but a small potion of fries (think McDonalds size) was $8. Not much to it. Then the other menu items in Gourmet Alley are also very overpriced. The minimum one has to spend on a sandwich is $19. I think the least expensive items were garlic fries for $14. The combo meals were $26 per person. We were not a fan of either plate. Quality was just ok. What made it worse was that they had only window 8 for all the people with prepaid meals. That line did not move even half as fast as the other lines for people who wanted à la carte items. We had to stand in line for about 35 minutes to get our food. And that in the heat! Drinks were also pricey. A small (maybe 12 oz?) beer was about $10, and a small bottle of water was $5. I think not even Disneyland charges $5 for an ordinary bottle of water. Back at the hotel, we learned that other guests had tickets for Friday and Saturday, and after going Friday, they just forfeit their Saturday tickets and did something else instead. For us it was a day trip to Monterey. Now that alone was worth the trip up here for us! Overall, if you have never been, think local Oktoberfest on a much smaller scale but more expensive. The idea of the festival is cute, and it could be a nice community event, but there is just not much to do other than walking around or listening to a couple of bands while drinking very expensive water or beers.

I thought that I knew a few tricks and have seen a lot of magicians, so naively believed I am may pick up a thing or two. Boy was I wrong! He was so smooth and completely amazed our crowd. Everybody kept talking about his performance long into the night and the following days. Not only were the tricks great, the performance aspect was superb. Just as billed, it was smart and sophisticated and I would totally recommend him to anyone looking for a unique performance at a party or get together.
