Looking for a nearby restaurant offering both lunch and delivery, we opted to give Garlic Knot Pizza & Pasta a try to satisfy our grumbling bellies. THE DELIVERY: Our delivery was prompt. Within 30 minutes of placing our order, our meals were delivered, and we were eating. Yasss! THE EATS: I opted to build my own calzone. I chose pineapple, Canadian bacon, and jalapeño for my toppings. While my calzone was large, it just felt like something was missing. It was a little bland and the sauce was - dare I say, watery? My colleagues ordered various personal sized pizzas and enjoyed them. THE PRICE: At $10.99 for my build-your-own calzone I'd say the prices are okay. Not the best deal, but not terrible. Perhaps my meal missed the mark because we opted for delivery. Perhaps it was just an off day. The worst pizza I've ever had in my entire life. Ordered two slices of cheese pizza and the baked ziti with meatballs. The pizza was stale and tasted like it had been sitting out for hours and then microwaved for 30 seconds. The ziti had a rubbery layer of cheese on top that was not melted into any of the pasta. The pasta below was literally bare with no sauce or cheese mixed in. The meatballs didn't taste good either. It felt like a meal you could get in the frozen section of the grocery store. Reviewing the Garlic Knot in Lakewood on South Wadsworth Blvd. Everything about my experience there today was terrible. I ordered take out and was told it would take 20 minutes. I went to pick up my order and waited 45 minutes. (My pizza was sitting there but the receptionist overlooked it.) When I got home, I had received the wrong salad and the meatballs were burned. What a lousy experience. I'm taking my business to Johnnys New York Style pizza. read more

Food is great. We've been coming here for years. It was our go-to pizza date night joint. Service as of June 2020: Things got busy the past few months with travel and then coronavirus. We had to visit one a little closer to home for convenience. We finally made it to this location's part of town and thought to stop in for some pie. We stepped in to see if the dining room was open (due to coronavirus dine-in is hit or miss). The reason we asked was because the one near our home was open for dine-in despite posted signage. Exchange: Us: "Hi, is your dining room closed?" Waiter who didn't seem to recognize us even after being patrons for years: "That's what it looks like." Okay. We were busy doing chores and wrapping up a long day. We didn't expect to be given attitude by one of our favorite haunts. So we left. Not even an attempted "but we can take a carry out order" or any other save the sale action. Minus 1 star for that bummer. Looks like we'll be having to do business with the one closer to home. I hope it's just that coronavirus has people on edge and that is the reason for this experience. It's not a great reason, but it would be an excuse, at least. read more

We were looking for local pizza delivery and discovered Garlic Knot. Ordering online was easy and I got a confirmation email right away. The delivery driver was friendly and found our address (it's a tricky location!). We ordered an XL Greenwich Village Pizza and garlic knots. We were happy with the pizza- it was tasty, had a good amount of toppings and was cooked properly. They even included packets of parmesan and red pepper flakes. It was about room temp when we received it. The garlic knots left a lot to be desired. Some were nearly tennis ball sized while others were smaller than a golf ball. Because of this they were inconsistently cooked and a little dried out. The marinara dipping sauce was tasty but it couldn't mask the inconsistency of the knots. Overall we were satisfied with the flavors but definitely will be skipping the garlic knots if we order from here again. read more

Emblazoned with lunch special deal signs on the exterior, this hole-in-the wall establishment is actually worth a visit for a casual quick bite. As an exponent of service quality and efficiency (just look at my other reviews), I was impressed. My order was taken right away and food came out promptly, hot, and cheesy. The woman working there made many customer-service oriented endeavors including bringing over a drink, condiments, toppings, and clearing the table. Besides the questionable recidivism occurring behind its neighbor building, Walmart, I would recommend this place as a short and sweet trip to grab a 'za or calzone read more

I am actually saddened that I did not take a picture of the pizza we had from here but it was actually surprisingly amazing! I think we opted for pepperoni and basil. They put the basil under the cheese so it doesn't get burned! This actually really makes the flavor so much better than having basil on top. The pizza we got was thin crust and well done just how I like it. I live around this area and will certainly be returning to this spot in the future. read more

Nice New York style pizza. Came in my first time and did the two slice special for $4. I'm not sure if it was the owner or son but they provided great customer service. They would not process my order over the phone with out ready then my credit card information, not only have I never been asked to do that from a pizza place but I live a mile up the road. They missed out on having a loyal customer due to the fact that they don't trust placing orders over the phone with out prior payment. This could be avoid by reading the address and location of the store upon introduction of a phone call and therefore no orders at incorrect locations and wasted food. Oh well. Perfect crust, not too thick or too thin, perfect sauce and choice of toppings to make the perfect NY pizza.. Ordered the $13.99 special, large cheese with garlic knots (coworker is vegetarian). Not gonna lie, despite the simplicity of a plain cheese pizza, this one was really delicious. Great tasting cheese, crispy crust (even after delivery!), and the sauce was nice and light, not slathered on. The garlic knots were awesome! I've been so disappointed in garlic bread, lately, and these were garlicky as all hell, and soaked through. Didn't even need the delicious dipping sauce. Solid option for delivery. Pizza was delivered 20-30 mins before expected-- it only took 40 mins from the time we placed our order until there was a knock on the door. The Neapolitan pizza was a good choice. It was simple and delicious. The garlic knots come in orders of 5 and are soft, buttery, and dangerous-- I could have eaten all five if I didn't have to share. I suppose it's to be expected, considering the restaurant name. I'll try a more dynamic pizza next time, and maybe I can give that last star. read more

Walking into "The Garlic Knot" gave me a sense that this will be good. We ordered with no issues, prices were fair and we sat down. I ordered the lunch special and added jalapeños and pineapple which also included garlic knots. My wife and son ordered a medium white pizza. Before I go any further, let's discuss the food. My slice came out, and right away I could tell the staff put the toppings on after the slice came out of the oven. The jalapeños were pickled and from a can, same story with the pineapple. Putting canned toppings on a cheese slice after you heat it up looks lazy and is disgusting. I picked up the slice and to no surprise all the toppings fell off. If you're gonna half ass putting toppings on after a slice comes out, at least put cheese on top of your canned ingredients to keep the toppings on. So with my slice being dismal, I figured that the garlic knots will save the day. I mean, the place is named "The Garlic Knot". Never have I been so wrong. The "garlic" knot was dough, salted heavily with garlic powder or salt. The fact they claim "New York" pizza on this makes me an angry New Yorker. After working in NYC at pizzerias, you take dough, get your mixture of olive oil/pressed garlic cloves, and oregano and you rub generously on the dough prior to cooking. Additionally, you sprinkle parmesan on top prior to hitting the oven. I don't know what I ate, but it's far from "New York" knots. My family won't be coming back, and I have to keep this away from my family when they visit from the city. Their logo is right though," Taste the New York difference", because there is a huge difference between this and New York pizza/knots. OMG the pizza there is great. Best I've found around here. Love it! My husband is not even a big pizza eater and loves this place too. So any time you are in the area stop in you don't have to get a hole pizza you can get a slice. If your a pasta eater it's better then the Olive Garden.
