When the stylus introduced herself to me I explained that I was natural and had no chemicals in my hair. That I wanted a wash & set and pen curl. I asked her blow dry my roots once I came from under the hairdryer and she explained that she would lightly use a hot comb to straighten my roots. That should given her enough information to know how to manage my hair.The first clue that I knew this was not going to be a good fit for my was when the stylus was having difficulties roller setting my hair. Prior to roll a setting she washed my hair with hot water which is a no-no for natural hair.if you know anything about natural hair hot water makes your hair frizzy. The second clue is after my hair was washed I recognize that all customers in the salon were all seniors and the only equipment on each stylist area was Hot irons and hot curlers. After staying under the dryer for 45 minutes the stylus checked on me and realize my hair still was not totally dry I suggested to use the blow dryer to dry the rest of my hair as I explained to her I was not feeling well and was very hot under the dryer but she insisted for me to stay for another two minutes which I did it. When I return back to her chair I asked why my hair was so stiff and crunchy as that is not how I wear my hair. She explained that she was going to use the straightening iron to straighten my roots and that how she does it was going to pull my hair out and then pin curl me. Needless to say she caught a little attitude because I was questioning her on the condition of my hair and became quiet and she started to pin curl my hair. I did explain to her that when I get my hair done at a Dominican salon my hair is not this tight she explain how they put so much heat on your hair and I explain to her no not in my case as I explain to them how I want my hair done which is not to place a lot of heat on so my hair they just blowdry the roots so that I have a flat look and then pin curl my hair. So I left the salon and NOT to my surprise I have a head full of tight curls with a bunch of products and damp hair. So my advice is not to have your hair done at this salon unless you have a perm or you need to have your hair done with Old school techniques.

She Added $65 (in addition to what I paid for Groupon) to the price in order to get that desired color since it was using 3 colors. Ok. Sadly tho, all the money in the world can't make a colorist's technique a good colorist. Walked out with red vice black hair. Not cool. Now, I can forgive the old building and odd atmosphere, and the hair color she left on my face in three spots, but I can't overlook the patronization of my stylist saying, "you can't make everyone happy" or, "baby hair, baby scalp ( when my head was itching from the color)". Or even better was how stunned she stated that she was that I was a mother considering how "impatient" she considered me (I just wanted to itch my head!). This evolution lasted just shy of 3 hours. Overall, This experience was a huge buzz kill. Wish I could say there were other reviews to go off of, but sadly, there's not. Perhaps there'd be a review about the organic coffee she enthusiastically touted like three times. In her defense, she did cut my dead ends gratis & offered for me to return the following week to attempt to remedy the acknowledgedly bad color do. While I appreciate the gesture, I'd rather have a root canal.

On August 24, I received a "nift" gift card valued at $30 for salon services here. I have never…read morebeen here before but was very excited to try a new salon, and hopeful that this may even become my home base salon - as I super need one in the DC area. That day, I called Salon Le Fini, and spoke with the front desk manager who told me that Victoria would be seeing me on Saturday Sept 1st at 10 am. I confirmed the date, location, time, etc and put the information in my phone. This past Saturday, I arrived at the salon, and was greeted warmly by the front desk manager - however, found it QUITE odd that the salon was open by no stylists were there yet (with multiple people already waiting). After 10:15ish, the front desk manager, sat down next to me and apologized. Stating that Victoria was on her way, that I would be seen as soon as she arrived, and that "it was her mistake as she only wrote down my appointment, but forget to put it in the actual calendar." Feeling a little dismayed, but knowing that we are all human and mistakes happen, I stated I understood and continued waiting. 10:30 rolled around, and I got another apology. 10:45, and yet another apology. 11 am rolled around, and i was feeling my patience wear thin. About 11:15, I had a stylist named Victoria come up to me and introduce herself. (She had already arrived and started on TWO other people, even though I was assured I would be seen first!!!!) Victoria's behavior was so rude and abrasive it is almost appalling. Victoria approached me, *told* me my appointment wasn't until 2 pm, that I was inconviencing her by arriving so early. (Mind you at this point I had already waited almost an hour and a half!) I politely stated, excuse me but my appointment was for 10 am. Victoria then brought me up to the computer system and processed to confirm my contact information - i verified that all of that contact information was correct. To which she stated, I should have received confirmation texts and emails. Note: Those were NEVER received (even in junk inboxes). I informed Victoria of that and she said that isn't her fault and I should know my appointment time. Trying to stay polite, I said, "ma'am, I do know my appointment time, I made it for 10 am, then wrote it down, and put it in my calendar on my phone; I wouldn't have made an appointment for 2 pm because I am NOT free at that time." Victoria proceeded to argue with me and tell me that it is not her fault if I got the time wrong or didn't get the reminders. I informed her that not receiving the reminders is not my fault either, and means they should probably verify their system is working, that i have now been told multiple stories by multiple people, so it appears they are LYING to cover their behinds about forgetting to put me into the system, and that it has now been almost two hours of my time completely wasted. I would NEVER recommend anyone to book services through this salon - unless you want to waste multiple hours of your day and not receive anything but lies, argument, rude/abrasive customer service, and no services.

I asked for a new style that was rather adventurous for me, but she did such a nice job that I felt comfortable with my decision walking out the door. The style is very posh, and I am enjoying lots of compliments on it! This was my first dry haircut, and I am very satisfied with the results. My ends definitely look healthier and more even. The salon environment is cute and comfortable. The salon is well-decorated, the staff provide drinks such as coffee with yummy creamer, and there is a private parking lot where you don't have to worry about getting ticketed in DC.

It had been about 6 months since I let anyone touch my hair (can you tell I have trust issues?). I explained to her the type of cut I wanted and that I was still in the progress of growing my hair out due to my last hair mishap. She gave her feedback and we got started. My hair turned out great! She exceeded my expectations! She gave me the most FAB blowout! I recommend her to all those who have had their heart broken by a hair stylist. She's awesome! You won't regret it:)
