First rate customer service from this family business. I had to come back the next day for a crack in my wheel to be welded, and since I didn't have access to an air compressor for the inevitable overnight leakage, they let me take their portable compressor home with me. Sure enough, woke up to 11psi in the tire, and was able to pump back up to 30 to drive over to the shop. Repair done at a fair price, and they even took a look at a couple other minor issues I brought up and gave advice at no cost. Would recommend! read more

Great and very professional treatment from Garrett Tire Center, Kim was better than great. We are from PA and was on I-64 and got a flat tire, the sidewall blew out and we put the Donut spare on, some very nice gentleman from the water company suggested Garrett Tire, who does all of the water company tires. I was so angry and humiliated by the staff at Garrett Tire that I paid and left after being ripped off and mocked by Kim and the mechanic who never properly repaired my RV. It started when the vehicle air conditioning was cutting in and out, so I stopped at an auto parts store, pulled the potentially faulty fuses, and bought new ones which I took with me when I drove my RV to Garrett Tire to have the solenoid checked. I spent time with Kim going over the wiring diagram and watched as she showed the diagram to the mechanic and handed him the new fuses he was to replace before testing the solenoid as the likely problem. Weeks passed before I got a call that my RV was finally ready. When I got to Garrett, I was handed a bill for $165. I commented that the solenoid must have been replaced as part of the charge, right? Both Kim and the mechanic roared laughing, "No, there weren't any fuses!" I told them I knew that because I brought in new fuses to eliminate a possible short as the problem. Then, I asked about the solenoid and they insisted it was fine and laughed some more, repeating that the problem was missing fuses. In retrospect, I shouldn't have paid, but I was so mad and humiliated that I just wanted to leave and get packed for a long-delayed camping trip. The air conditioning on my RV cut in and out again shortly after I started my trip. When I got back home, I took my RV to an honest mechanic who replaced the bad solenoid for $160. That's less than I paid to have two fuses, I supplied, installed by a mechanic who obviously never checked the solenoid or took my RV for a test drive. Garrett may be OK for tires, but I don't recommend having any mechanical work done there, particularly if you're a woman who doesn't want to be ripped off, mocked, and treated like you're a complete idiot. read more

My husband and I were on the annual Lemons Rally (google it, so FUN!) passing through the town of Charleston and in desperate need of tires. We called around lunch time and they said they could get us in within the hour. We were very happy considering our 1994 Taurus needed 4 new 15-inch tires and we were having trouble finding them. Service was quick, affordable, and friendly. The owner recommended going down the street to Books & Brews for some pepperoni rolls which were delicious. I got a nail in my tire on Sunday and went to the only repair shop open, after waiting over 3 hours they told me they could not fix the flat(Not Garrett) and they could not be sure they could get me a tire on Monday. They did put the donut on. Next morning I went to two other tire shops and was given the same information. Fortunately I was able to find Garrett Tire. I spoke with Kim and told me t bring the car in. Well everyone else were correct the tire could not be fixed. However, Kim told me go check out of our hotel and she would call me when the car was ready. Two hours later I was on the road heading back home to NC. Terrific service and a very good price. I had just left Logan WV from the Hatfield McCoy trails with my pickup hauling a trailer and my tire started to go flat past Charleston. I'm 250 miles away from home so Called here and they took us in immediately after trying to plug the tire and barely making it there. I have 37 inch tires on a 16.5 inch rim, unfortunately they did not have any tire that would work for me, but the important part is they did everything they could to try and find me one in the area, unfortunately no one had one anywhere because that size is very rare. I was in a pinch with really no options on the table. My tire had previously been patched and the patch happened to fail because the hole is right up where the side wall starts, not a good place for a patch so they were trying to do anything they could to get me something. They ended up having to just patch it and plug it with no other options. It held up good and got us home. I can't thank them enough for their generosity as they did not even charge me for the repair, i wish I could give them more business but I'm from out of town. These are good people here who took care of me in an emergency. You can't best that. read more
