The server that filled our waters when we were initially seated asked if we were celebrating anything - yes my birthday! She mentioned that I would get a brownie with ice cream on the house. Awesome! My favorite! I don't think this was communicated to our actual waitress. When I asked about the brownie she said "yeah it's a birthday thing, but I think I can make that happen". But.... It's my birthday :'( I felt like a jerk making some special request. My brownie came out without a candle. I overheard a woman at another table also celebrating a birthday and she got a candle with her birthday dessert. I hate to sound like an ungrateful pick me brat, but I wish this would have been communicated to our waitress. Having to ask about the brownie made me feel awkward.
