We went Hudson's Restaurant for our nieces 40th Birthday during their Haunted House theme and it was a blast. The service was great for us we had a party of 9 people. They offered a great Halloween themed menu. We all tried the Trash Can Nachos and their Buffalo Pirogies. I got their French Onion soup and it was delicious! I got the Blackened Chicken Tacos, my brother-in-law got their Pot Roast and my wife got the Spinach Artichoke Goat Cheese Chicken with Mashed Potatoes. We ordered our niece a piece of their Haunted House themed cake and WOW it's was delicious and HUGE, feed the entire table with just the one piece. Met friends for the nightmare before blitzen Halloween decor & to watch Ohio state game . Fish sandwich had 2 generous pieces of fish - it was good , but a good portion of skin was left on one of the pieces so it was overly fishy tasting. Tots were crispy and as expected. French onion soup was good . Drinks were well made and bartender was attentive . My friend ordered breakfast and she said everything was well made but had to send sausage gravy back as it was cold . Made it back here for the Blitzen's Christmas Pop up! What a cute place. My son and I had the Christmas flatbread with pear, goat cheese, and cranberry. It was really tasty. Since we had already eaten we were not super hungry. He also got the "make your own ginger bread cookies" and they had run out of piping bags, so it was kind of a messy spreading of the frosting, but it was still a clever idea. No other adornments, so we borrowed some of the cranberries from our flatbread to make buttons and a pear slice to create a bow tie. (I forget what they call this on the menu, but for all intents and purposes, it's a pizza/flatbread). I tried the gingerbread old fashioned. It was quite strong, but didn't have a clear gingerbread flavor. I did appreciate that it had one big ice cube. For $20 a pop, it better be strong, right? Decor throughout the restaurant is really well done, if not a bit over-the-top, but I think that's the point here. Loved it. We would come here a lot if we lived close by. read more

I went during Christmas time and it was decorated to the nines! There were so many Santa's and reindeer. The food was good, I especially liked the taste of the meatball sauce. I got the ceasar salad and the chicken was tough but the dressing made up for it. Everything was reasonably priced, the drinks a bit on the high end. We went the Saturday after Christmas, around 430 and were surprised by only a 30 min wait! Our server was very attentive, accommodating and kind. It is truly wild to see all of the Christmas decor they have put up. The list of holiday cocktails was extensive, but some were pretty basic and definitely should've have been the priced the same as some of the more complex drinks. Twelve ladies came for lunch. We were seated quickly and ordered. Julia was a fabulous waitress. So organized! Ask for her. The meals were nicely presented, and the food was delicious. Most ladies ordered the Strawberry Fields salad with salmon or chicken. The lettuce was mixed greens with slices of large berries. Two of us ordered the Blazin' Shrimp Tacos. The shrimp were manageable size and lightly breaded. The sauce was tasty, not hot. The dining room is nice and big with lots of booths and tables, and a full bar. A go-to restaurant any time. We stopped by to experience the Christmas pop up restaurant, Blitzen's. Absolutely amazing decorations!!! They did such a great job decorating and making it feel like the ultimate Christmas stop. Liked the holiday inspired beverage menu. A little pricey but cute drinks. I got the Frosty's Toddy, which was pretty good. Ordered the pot stickers and a side salad with homemade vinaigrette. Very good. My boyfriend got the chicken sandwich which was really messy, but he said it was good too. We snapped some holiday pics together and even saw Santa in the entryway. I visited Blitzen's the week of Christmas. It was 11:30 am and the restaurant was bustling and waitline was forming. The hostesses were super organized. I love how the cocktail menu was on a screen so you could get a head start on your order! The decor was over the top and food was presented in a timely fashion and was really good!! I also appreciated the seasonal items for sale- such as little garland headbands- 3 for 9 or 10 dollars! No holiday souvenir price gouging!! I will visit and share with my friends again! read more

We went during the Christmas pop-up season so the place well well decorated and very festive. While the hosts were not welcoming the few times I've been here, I can understand as they must be tired from the busy holiday crowds. When I came to the stand to check in, the man was talking to the other hosts and checking his tablet as I waited (not a problem at all by the way, it was busy) and then after a minute he looked up at me and stared...waiting for me to talk. I try to wait until the host asks if they can help me because I don't want to be rude and immediately assume they're ready to serve me yet, so I was waiting for his signal. But he just stared like I was ignoring him or something so finally I spoke and said I'm there to check in. This being said, I know he must've been tired so it's no problem, just a note that I may be thinking too much into. The servers, however, were fantastic. They were very hospitable and attentive even in the rush of things. Our food tasted great, we also split the Buffalo chicken pierogis (not pictured) which were delicious but small portion sizes. My friend and I had a fun night out at this restaurant/bar during their Blitzen's Christmas pop up bar extravaganza. Our drinks were delicious and strong in the best possible way We did not order food on this particular visit, but their meatball appetizer is generally a good bet! The bartender was very friendly and speedy with service. The highlight though for both of us was the ambiance. The walls were covered from head to toe with all types of Christmas decor, and if you sit in the bar area, there's even a snow machine. First time coming here. It's a really popular restaurant in downtown Hudson. My wife and friends recently came here to check out the Christmas themed restaurant they do every year. Wow! Was this place popping. It took a while to get our seat before they closed but the service was great! Staff was considerate throughout our visit. Prices here are fair, great pretzels to snack on too and even better holiday themed drinks. The restrooms are a bit of a walk to get too and it may be a bit of a small seating establishment but I absolutely enjoyed my visit. read more

Due to the hecticness of the Christmas theme we had a 2 hour wait . Be prepared to wait! In doing so we walked around down town Hudson because it was a beautiful day. Something was going on with the wait-list as well. They offered free fountain drinks as we waited. Once seated we were treated with kindness and we encouraged to take our time. We stopped in with a visiting family member for the Blitzen's holiday popup on Friday night. It was packed! We waited about an hour and half to be seated. There's a bar in the restaurant and lots of other pubs nearby so we were fairly... jolly by the time we were seated. The wait staff was incredibly easygoing and patient with is, seamlessly adding our holiday headbands and hats to our bill as requested. Their drinks all had a little holiday flair and were good. The food was diner fare and we all enjoyed our meals. It was definitely an experience and something I could see becoming an annual visit. Happy Holidays read more

A Mother's Day dinner a day later but we did it! Beautiful day, so we sat outside. We sat on the front sidewalk side of the building. We were greeted upon arrival, and taken outside to our table. Austin was our server and he was great. Stated that they had a dedicated gluten free fryer. Its had been a while since we had been there, the food hasn't lost a step. The holiday pop up bars are fun and keep everyone in a festive mood. Be prepared for a little wait even when they tell you 20 to 45 minutes. We waited an hour but that was ok since they don't take reservations but they do have a waiting list on yelp that you can put your name on. Sometimes just knowing before hand that you may have to wait make the wait easier. Shrimp tacos were delicious meatloaf was good and the fries were gone which means they were good. On to the drinks. Mrs Claus rum punch. Wow all I have to say it was yummy. Drink made for 4 but hubby and I split it. Amazing if you like all the ingredients. Give this place a try if you're in the area. We live in Hudson and supported this restaurant came in at least once a week because the food was always good. Homemade food and the staff was always very sweet and fast. We started to notice a difference a little over a year ago we came in and got very very sick from the clam chowder, we blew it off as a one time occurrence I mean, it can happen. It's not supposed to, but we went back the last two times we went in It was hard to get the waitress to a table. And we ordered breakfast and we're still looking for our food 55 minutes later the waitress brings our food to us and it's ice cold. We let the waitress know and she just said well I can go heat it up if you like we told her don't bother we will not be back and we have not been back ever since it just seems like they really changed and the owner doesn't care because they're letting it happen. We had to go check out blitzens but I'm not sure if a 90 min wait is worth it. The atmosphere is everything you'd expect. The food wasn't horrible but not the best. The best thing I had was the French onion soup. My wife had the sliders and I had the chicken fingers. The chicken fingers were dry and the fries had no seasoning. The sliders were okay but would have been better if it had seasoning. If you want to get into the Christmas spirit this is the place to go. Just don't go for the food. read more
