Went here completely by accident! We were extremely happy we did! We usually go to a place nearby that happened to be closed due to a small kitchen fire. So, we stumbled on this place literally 5 minutes from our house! I must have mentioned this place 20 times saying how it's always packed we must try it out. However, we never stopped in until this past Sunday on Mother's Day of all days. We were worried we'd never get a seat, walked in at 5 and had a seat within 15 minutes! The hostess was really nice. The menu has a ton to choose from and my boyfriend and I both deciced to get steak. I had steak tips/scallops and he had filet mignon and stuffed shrimp. It was absolutely delicious. I went there today with a friend and 3 kids all age 3. We ordered 1 soup, 1 sandwich and fries and 3 kids meals. This review has been left as a direct response to 'Susan' from Chelmsford. .. who we had the unfortunate bad luck of dining next to. the staff was courteous and the meal itself was excellent. we would have had a really nice evening if it wasn't for Susan from Chelmsford, who we had to listen to her bad misfortunes and family disfunctions. she was LOUD, drunk and VERY obnoxious. so obnoxious that we had to move our table to finish dinner! Every once in a while, against my better judgement, we decide to give it another shot. Every time, we curse our decision. I keep reviewing because I can't let this go. This restaurant has SO much potential, especially in a town starved for restaurant options, but the food is ordinary at best. Often, it's poor. I keep waiting for Gordon Ramsey to come busting in. Food aside, what really gets me are the prices. Hands down, this is the most expensive restaurant in Billerica. It also costs more than Tavern In The Square, Not Your Average Joe's, Tony C's, Buffalo Wild Wings, to name a few. All far superior in quality and atmosphere. What keeps Garrisons going is the bar. It saddens me to write this review. My wife and I have been going to Garrison's 1-2 times per month for well over 10 years and would give it 4 stars for most visits. This review is for last Sunday, 11/6/16. We arrived about 5-5:30 and were greeted / seated in the restaurant section. The issue is no one came over to our table for 15 minutes, while there was a crowd giggling at the front register. I could have gone up to complain, but i wanted to see if they would ever come. They did not, so we walked out and went to another restaurant where we were promptly waited on. I'll give Garrisons one more try, but if they do not get their act together, it will be the last time. There is no excuse for ignoring customers while the staff plays at the register. read more

Better than I expected although I do not know why I was not expecting much. I went for lunch and got a bacon cheddar burger. the waiter was friendly and helpful. the burger was a good size and cooked exactly how I had requested. The bacon was cut to fit the burger so I didn't have huge pieces hanging out. The fries were crisp and tasty. They are a steak and seafood restaurant so I do not feel terribly fair judging them only on a burger, but that is what I had so that is what I will go with. What I ordered: Sprite, Nachos, Medium-well Cheeseburger (Cheddar, lettuce, tomato, onion) with French Fries. What I got: Sprite Stale & Burnt Nachos The cheeseburger was cooked more medium than medium well with just a touch of pink in the middle. French Fries. Good size helping's (about 1/2 cup of each) of sour cream and salsa on the side. Cheeseburger - Prepackaged frozen burger, the LTO seemed fresh, the Lettuce was your basic iceberg lettuce. The French fries were really good. Friendliness of the staff: Our particular waitress was like Mary Tyler Moore on a bag of amphetamine's. I didn't understand half the things she said because she spoke so fast. One of those people who don't actually breath until they are done talking. I think she was friendly because she kept on smiling but I couldn't understand half the things she said. Needless to say, the service was fine and prompt. They seemed understaffed on this particular night so I can understand why she would seem stressed/anxious. Decor and Cleanliness: Typical Pub atmosphere, a bar area and a dining area. It seemed clean but the lighting was very dim and made it difficult to really tell. Cut the cheese and wrap it up: I wanted to like this place, it had a decent menu with other items I wanted to try. They had two Nacho appetizers, a "Chicken Nachos" and the "Nachos" appetizer. I got the Nachos appetizer, I assumed they came with beef because the other was with chicken, that was my bad, they did not. The scallions looked a bit old, not like really old but were probably cut in the morning. I won't order the $7 Nachos again. You can easily do better at home in about ten minutes with a bag of chips, salsa and a quick zap in the microwave(ya, micro waved chips are better). The cheeseburger although slightly undercooked was tasty and good sized. I was pleased to get a center piece of lettuce and not the banged up white pieces that resemble celery. The French fries were really good, I wasn't expecting much but these are better than average fries. They weren't piled high like most restaurants but the portion size was adequate. The menu had some surf and turf items that sounded good and I was surprised to see they had American Chop Suey. I'm hesitant to order a $20 plate of steak tips my first trip to a new restaurant. It's not a ton of money to spend but I always feel like I got ripped off if it's a bad meal. My buddy had clam chowder and a salad. He thought the clam chowder was from a can. Nothing bad to say about the salad other than the red onions were pungent. My first experience here is that this is an average restaurant. I'd go back and try something else if someone asked but I'm not going to tell you that I'm craving to go back here. Great sports bar located on 3A in Billerica. It's across the street from a Wendy's and situated between a Cumberland Farms Gas Station and a Verizon cellular phone vendor. Server was prompt and took our order. They have a huge menu which made it hard to decide we both got the heal parm. Dinner rolls were brought out not warm but it was nice to have rolls. The heal was a little tough. And the sauce was kind of nutmeggy. The portion size was huge and was impossible to finish. I am reviewing Garrison's based solely on takeout; I have never eaten in the restaurant. But I will say the restaurant looks really nice; it's clean, well laid-out, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The first time I got takeout from Garrison's, I would have given it 3.5 stars. The food was fine but not impressive. It was kind of bland, nothing really stood out, it was just... ok. We got it again the other night and I had the buffalo chicken sandwich, and it was the most 'meh' sandwich I've ever had. Again, it was ok I guess, but barely had any buffalo sauce flavor. The flavor was just so dull, and the fries were cold and soggy. But then... that's when it happened... I took a bite of my sandwich and.. wait for it..... A BIG BLACK HAIR CAME OUT!!!!!!!! Neither me nor my wife have black hair. There was a black hair, on my sandwich. Yes, it was gross, but yes, I pulled it apart, inspected it, and finished eating it because I was starving. But it pretty much totally soured me on Garrison's. I would give them 1 star instead of 2, but I don't want to pull their average too low because I want to give them the benefit of the doubt. Yes, I got a hair on my food, but I doubt it happens that often. I didn't call them about it; I just didn't want to talk about the big black hair. Overall, we will probably not get takeout from Garrison's again because there is nothing special about it; I have no reason to go there, because there are 4 or 5 much better options nearby. We have visited Garrisons 3 or 4 times in the past and have been pleased. We decided to visit again tonight. We try to eat healthy even when eating out and there are good choices on their menu for us. I ordered the baked haddock with no crumbs or oil/butter. It came with a starch and vegetable and I chose rice and broccoli along with an extra garden salad. I loved my meal. The rice was delicious, very light and not salty! The fish was excellent, cooked perfectly even without oil and crumbs. I squeezed lemon on top for an added burst of flavor. My husband ordered the terriaki turkey tips with rice and mixed veggies, along with a garden salad. He enjoyed his meal very much. Our waitress was also very good read more

Went there Monday night to use a gift certificate a friend had given us for Christmas. We were seated promptly, and our waitress was attentive as could be. I had one of the specials that evening, salmon with dijon sauce. Very, very good! And the portion was huge! I had enough left over for two lunches. Dave had the rib eye steak with bourbon mushroom sauce and a baked potato. Again, delicious and such a huge portion he couldn't finish it all. After reading reviews here, I have to mention the only thing that bugged me. One of the servers had long, long black hair that she put into a ponytail...but when she walked by it swung furiously side to side and at the time I kind of cringed, hoping a hair didn't fly off onto my table. However, my review pertains to the bar and the outstanding bar staff that has served me many a Friday and Saturday evening! The place is huge and packed with locals who come out at the end of a long week to spend their hard earned money and definitely get their money's worth here.
