this place is a higher end restaurant, but the food wasn't very impressive. it's beautiful inside and the service is excellent. everything was cooked as ordered, which is good. the food was just fine, nothing special so the prices are a little crazy for the food you get. it reminded me of a prettier longhorns or 99s or something, basic. i don't think i'll be back unless they add some better options to match the price tag. also, something about what i ate (grilled chicken with sweet potato fries), did not settle well in my stomach at all. not sure what that's all about...

This is a great steak house. This is a high end steak house with great food and service. My husband who eats at many great places thought his choices were good not stellar. I thought it was fantastic. The restaurant is very masculine with ample seating and a great feel. The drinks were delicious and strong. We started with bread being brought to the table with our drinks. It was so good. Served hot and it is a croissant type bread. For apps we got the prosciutto which was served with bread and an arugula salad and clam chowder. Both delicious and fresh. I have definitely had chowder as good or better at side of the road places but that's what you get for living in an area with great seafood. For mains we got the lobster risotto and rib eye with creamed spinach and bag of fries. The risotto was fine. It is what it is. I think a steak would be a better choice. The ribeye was stellar. Served with smoked salt. Best steak I've ever had. The creamed spinach was served with a runny egg. Good but needed a little seasoning. Finally the fries were good served with ketchup. Definitely had the high end steak house prices but absolutely worth it.

Clam chowder and burger were delicious. All the food looks great and look forward to trying the rest of the menu. Cocktails very solid too, top espresso martini in the area.

This place is hopping so definitely recommend a reservation. We made one but ended up just sitting at the bar (we prefer that) the drinks are top notch! I ordered the steak tartare and creamed spinach for my meal. This was the best tartare I've ever had and I've had a lot. A bonus with the tartare was a little quail egg you put on the top yourself! The creamed spinach was wonderful, just needed a little salt. (I don't usually add salt to anything) My friend got Branzino, the whole fish. Very tasty and flaky. She also got the beet salad. Normally beets taste like dirt to me but this was the first time I actually enjoyed beets! The bartenders were excellent and friendly and on top of everything. So quick, noticed if you needed something before you even notice it. I definitely would come back and try one of their stea

Outstanding food, marvelous setting and professional service. Company meeting so we had a set menu but one thing is sure: steaks are absolutely delicious! Highly recommended!

first visit to the bancroft was better than expected. mike is a great server. we started with oysters and artichoke ricotta ravioli. pass on the oysters, ravioli was amazing, i would have ordered two instead! filet mignon was decent, skirt steak was great, and i loved that bone marrow was available but felt it would use a little extra something. ravioli 10/10 oysters 3/10 (very small) filet 7.8/10 skirt steak 9/10 bone marrow 7/10 mocktail 9/10 overall good visit, would try it here again. ambiance: 5/5 food: 3.7/5 drinks: 4.5/5 service: 5/5 the bancroft: 4.4/5

Ambiance - 5. Really lovely upscale dining with relax cozy setting. Not too noisy and ideal for group chats. Service - 4 food delivered fairly fast but the service attitude could improve a little. Not as courteous or patient when my colleague asked for explanation on what was in the dish. Food - 5 the mushroom soup taste amazing and the way they presented the soup which they pour over the mushroom right off your table was unexpected nice surprise. Three thumbs up. The cocktail, Mammoth Tusk was ok, a little strong and sweet for me. I had the iceberg wedge blue dressing which was delightful and refreshing.

We sat at the bar on their amazing comfortable barstools. Reservations are recommended. Service was fast and friendly. The cocktails were amazing. I had 36 Chambers which was a Reposado Tequila cocktail. The drinks are strong so one and done but I had two. I really wanted a steak but chose Branzino instead. It wasn't the best fish I've ever had. A lot of char taste but flaky and and moist. I also had beet salad which was perfect. The price is right for the service, quality, and ambiance.

Went there tonight for bday party. We ordered a ton of items, and they wouldn't let me take the bernaise sauce home. Not even a dollop. Also they overcooked the tomahawk steak so the only way to eat it was with a sauce. Other restaurants let you take bernaise sauce apparently not the Bancroft

Love the Bancroft. Have been coming here for special occasion dinners for years. The service is always great and the food is indulgent and always delicious! The filet mignon with Roquefort is my go to entree and the creamed spinach with fried egg is my go to side here. Definitely recommend!

The food was excellent and well crafted. Service was adequate, but that is not the expectation for this tier of steakhouse. The service was slow and not attentive. A table seated after us received their entrees before us. Service was sluggish and not acceptable. The review teeters on 3 vs 4 stars given the price point. The food was exceptional and better created than other local steak houses. Starting with the burrata and prosciutto that was exceptional. Canadian oysters that were exceptional. Crab cakes were loaded with crab meat and beautifully presented - top tier. The tomahawk was perfectly cooked and presented. The sides are distinguishing for the Bancroft.

Interesting local beer on tap and other local sourced drinks. The food however, was disappointing. Chicken and Waffles: waffles were incredibly sweet. Like dessert sweet. Same very sweet fried chicken, dry slaw that didn't add any flavor, a few pickles that helped a bit, but no real flavor. The chicken (on the waffles too) was hammered...fried till super dry. Comes with a side of potato chips but they weren't hot or seasoned. The big pretzel app was good. Beer cheese was ok, honey mustard was better. Sorry we didn't enjoy ourselves more. Nice people and very good service.

While we had dinner here, I would highly recommend this spot for lunch. First and foremost, the staff were so kind and helpful. Our waiter helped us to figure out what food to get, recommended drinks, etc. The food was quite good. We ordered a number of appetizers (bisque, brussel sprouts, calamari, and burrata). I think we were all in agreement that the calamari was the best (perfectly fried, great hint of lemon), though the bisque was also the perfect treat on such a cold day. For my meal I had the salmon, which was a pretty big portion. The couscous and sauce were all really good, I wish I had a few more veggies, but this was all around a great dish. The prime rib dip sandwich was by far the best entree on the table. For dessert we had the crème brûlée and chocolate mousse cup, both really good, but the chocolate mousse cup was really well balanced with decadent chocolate and peppermint. The restaurant is relatively small, but it wasn't super busy and had a lot of great options! Maybe slightly pricy, but what a great place to stop into when you're at the mall.

Popped in for a small bite and beverage and the hostess was an absolute gem. She asked me where I'd be most comfortable sitting. I opted for the bar and ordered a glass of house red. Note: The drinks are crazy expensive. My wine was $16 for a glass. That's the average cost for most of the drinks on the menu. I had a cup of tomato basil soup which was delish, and chicken tacos which were on the small bites/apps portion of the menu. They were tasty. For dessert, I opted for a brownie sundae. It was dry and not fresh. The meals are fresh but pastries must be ordered offsite and just frozen. With the exception of dessert, I'll definitely visit again for a bite!

I realize that places are not always consistent, but my experience at Legal has never been negative. We came to this location after taking my daughter to the Camp Store at Burlington Mall, which is why we found ourselves at this location. I think this location feels both classy and casual. We were seated right away when we arrived. Our server was great and such a good natured guy. He made sure we were taken care of throughout the whole of our dining experience. First, I want to mention that the children's menu was excellent. My daughter loved that they had popcorn that was served out of a cute popcorn bucket. My daughter also really liked their grilled chicken, french fries, applesauce and broccoli. My wife had the Hoisin salmon, which she loved. The presentation was fun too the way they mixed the salad. She did say there were maybe one too many cashews, but that is a small complaint to be made. I always get a steamed lobster when I come in. It was just as delicious as always. The side I had were also delicious: the whipped potatoes and the Thai bok choy and kimchee. For dessert, I always have to order the chocolate pudding cake. It's been one of my favorite desserts since I was a kid. I'm so glad they have kept it on the menu for so many years! I will keep coming back here as long as they are still here!

I ordered it medium but was instead served almost rare. Nick asked me to cut into it and he himself said that it was somewhat rare so he took it back. Someone else brought the same steak back a few minutes later and parts were overcooked and parts were still medium rare. I also noticed that the table next to me sent one of their steaks back and also leaving it on their plates after it was brought back. For dessert, I had the coconut creme cake that was really good.
