I brought my Kona EV up to have 75K mile service done. Although they don't service many EVs in this part of the state, they didn't have any problem understanding my car's needs. As it happened, I needed a sway bar, which can be expensive. They didn't have one in stock, but they were able to procure one and install it if I was willing to wait (which I was.) My car is as good as new. The whole thing -- 75,000 mile service and the sway bar -- ran me $300, which I consider a bargain. read more

Poor Management! We liked the salesman, Logan, and appreciated his time and laid-back approach. We test drove the vehicle, discussed trade-in values and financing. The estimated monthly payment was below the budget we had requested, so we left feeling confident moving forward. The next day, we decided we were ready to buy. Based on our conversations with Logan, we planned to put $12,500 down, with approximately $7,600 coming from the equity in our Honda CR-V. During our discussions, Logan stated over the phone that we would need to bring a $4,900 cashier's check. When we returned to sign the paperwork, everything was different. Before we were ever shown the APR or monthly payment we had requested in advance, we were already discussing warranty options with numbers that didn't seem to match what we had previously agreed upon. When we questioned the discrepancy and asked for Logan, the manager, came in but couldn't clearly explain where the misunderstanding had occurred. Instead, he produced a document comparing the $12,500 down payment we had discussed with a $4,900 figure, as though they were the same thing. We had never discussed a $4,900 down payment until we were ready to go all in. It then became obvious that somewhere along the way, the difference between our total down payment and our out-of-pocket contribution had been confused. We fully acknowledge that we could have caught the mistake sooner by double-checking the math ourselves. However, this misunderstanding happened over multiple conversations, and no one at the dealership caught it either. As customers, we relied on the figures being presented to us properly. What happened next was the most disappointing part. Instead of calmly walking through the numbers, the manager told us, "If you can't do the math, you need to leave," and walked out of the room to "cool down." Thinking we couldn't hear him say "I'm not selling you that car today". This all happened in front of our one-year-old child. Mistakes happen, and we understand that. What we can't overlook is how the situation was handled. A respectful explanation and a willingness to work through the misunderstanding would have gone a long way. Instead, we left feeling embarrassed, confused, and wondering how a simple math misunderstanding escalated into such an unprofessional interaction. $7,124.12 Bait and switch. I contacted this dealership via telephone first thing in the morning regarding a palisade. Spoke with a salesman. I was checking to see if 26k all in taxe titles reg fees is something they could do. I gave them the total amount interest rate term and monthly payment I needed to be at. Salesman checked with his sales manager who told him 26k all in would work. Car was listed for 25,999. So there was no misunderstanding that 26k all in included all the things I named. Salesman called me back and said with the numbers I gave I would be 5 dollars over the monthly payment I needed to be at. This is another clear indication that someone ran the numbers I gave understanding what 26k all in was and im sure it wasnt the salesman. After driving the car i was given a sheet with estimated payments ect. The sheet listed my payments where I need to be. The issue is it wasnt what we had agreed on prior. The salesman grabbed the sales manager who tried to make the salesman look bad by saying he didnt understand. Then told me what a good deal i was getting blah blah blah. Said fine. Then got in with the finance guy who I told i needed gap insurance. He said he was looking for a gap warranty combo. I told him I didnt want the warranty. I had never purchase a warranty for a vehicle. He then told me he wasnt going to do anything to lower my payments or get me gap if I didnt buy the warranty. Then to get my payment closer to where I needed to be, he extended the loan and extra 12 months from the agreed upon terms, this will run me an extra year of interest. I did a Google review Monday evening that was answered by the "owner" no one reached out. I called each dealership twice a day for the next three days looking for an owner or manger to speak with about the deceit i had experienced. No one could seem to find me one of those people. I resorted to posting a yelp review and low and behold within an hour the GM was calling me. This also shows lack of integrity if ya ask me. I told him the story. I explained if it was a couple hundred dollars than fine. But with the 2k warranty I didnt want, the vehicle itself not being the all in we had agreed to, and the extra year of interest. This vehicle will cost me $7124.12 more than I was brought in for. Martin asked me to "in good faith" take down my review while he worked on a resolution because for him "even a dollar difference is unacceptable". We agreed i would remove my review for one week while he decided whether they would be cutting me a check for the difference or coming to pick up the car. Yesterday was that one week mark. I have yet to be contacted for how they are going to make this right. The lack of integrity and deceit i experienced with this dealership, then to do my part "in good faith" to again be disrespected is insane. My recommendation is to stay far far far away. read more

Drop the car off and you'll always get the "Hi Marshall this is Joe at Garvey Hyundai North you can text me anytime during your Service visit" don't waste your time they won't respond. You can call Garvey and they will get you over to service, they won't answer and Don't bother leaving a voicemail because they won't return your calls. You need to keep calling until they get sick of you than they will "Try to get answers". Brought up an issue to the Service Department 10/16 and its now 11/21 and this hasn't been correct all they had to do was order a new Part and install it its plastic it breaks I get it but a MONTH to get it Resolved! The service department doesn't know how to work on cars i came in for an oil change and 3 days later oil drain plug came out on the highway so that was fun losing all oil on the highway than I told them they need to fix this. The guy said was it something I did I was like yeah went under my car to take out my oil drain plug and drive grounded for kicks. Then the said we'll give you a free oil change. So stupid me I came back on discount and my car was fine but the technician can take off a nut without breaking it. Which the I switch my summer rims for my winter rims ever six months so I don't know how you say the nut broke monroe had zero problems with it. Maybe so some hire more qualified technician. That know what there doing. So in short go somewhere else and check to see if they drain plug is in the car I will be going to another place to get my new car when I getting one read more

Where do I begin. I have bought probably 6 or 7 cars from them and this last one will be the last. Their service department and a dealership as a whole has taken a severe nose dive. Oh they will sell you a car alright. I guess we will start on my previous car. it was a complete lemon. It went into limp mode 3 times on the highway. First time I get it towed there. Was told they aren't sure when it could be looked at probably at least a month, no they will not give me a loaner. Had to miss work unpaid and borrow cars for work. Paid $1,100 to get it fixed. Acouple weeks later limp mode again, had to get it towed. Again, no loaners and had to pay because they didn't fix their fuck up the first time. Miss more work unpaid and had to borrow a car. Acouple weeks later, yup again limp mode. Rinse and repeat. All the while they refuse a loaner. Acting like it's my fault and trying to put the blame on me saying Im not getting oil changes yadda yadda yadda. Coming up with every and any excuse. well I had records. So then they give me a bullshit story about how its because a Hyundai technician didnt do the oil changes and thats why it kept breaking down. It was just very shady and shitty all around on their part. And took me going above them in order for them to fix it properly. Acouple months later another $850 bill. I said enough and wanted to just be rid of that lemon they sold me. So I trade it in. I was sent paperwork for a car with 4 miles on it (have pictures). Come to find out the day before I pick up the car that the car was a loaner and had over 4,000 miles on it (loaner huh, and loaner you never allowed me to have). Fine ok. Whatever. Get the car and see that in 200 miles I needed an oil change and that the tires will need to be changed in acouple months. On a $34,000 car. But I needed something that wasn't a lemon as I live in the middle of nowhere in the mountains. I was told in text by my salesman that I would have "free" oil changes and rotations for 3 years. The other day I go for an oil change and was told I only get 4 free oil changes for 3 years or until 36,000 miles. And that because my car was a loaner. Which I was never told about that I will not be getting any free oil change. That if I didn't like it to talk to my salesman or leave. I proceed to go to the salesman and show him the text I got from him in writing and he said there's nothing they could do. That's the final straw. It times to file complaints with the government and see what the lawyers can do. Over the years I had to sit and wait 3 hours and 45 minutes for an oil change and rotation because they forgot I had an appointment (despite me physically hanging them the keys and checking in and sitting in the waiting room). It's always 1.5 hour minimum for an oil change. Minimum (Went to Weebee Oil right after the above incident and was in and out in under 20 minutes). It's just shady crap all around. Buying a Tuscan that had bald tires. To buying cars that are in the shop more then with me. I won't get into how they left my mother stranded at work because they forgot she had an appointment and that her car was there. She dropped it off in the morning and went to work. And they never called her. In fact she was told they had no idea she had an appointment. So its 8pm and she was stranded at work and had to have my stepdad drive 40 minutes to pick her up. In sports analogy.....they need to fire and clean house. what you have just isn't working. Maybe it was the split the brothers had. I have had multiple terrible customer service experiences with the service department here. Once I drove over an hour to them to pick up a key and when I got there they couldn't find it. Told me to "come back another day" and moved on to the next customer. This after they had my car in for a full day for something they completely misdiagnosed. The worst was this summer when my car died as a result of Hyundai engine part recall, and they never even returned my calls. I left 3 messages. Had to get towed to Vermont. Never again! read more

The person we met with was Chris and the service was horrific. He provided no information about the car not even the price. When I asked about driving the Kona he told me it drive just like the Elentra and would not let us test it. I mentioned that I was also looking at a Subura and he told me I should go drive one. Include the fact that he kept addressing my nephew instead of me, he clearly was not interested in working with me. Even if I loved the car, the service has guaranteed me looking elsewhere. It is hard to have any interest in buying a car for a company that scheduled an appointment with me and was not ready then left me dealing with a jerk that could barely spend 10 minutes talking to me before telling me to go somewhere else. After visiting 4 other dealerships in search of our next vehicle, we pulled into Garvey Hyundai and out walked a smiling salesman named Brad Bernard. Brad had an attitude that stood out among the rest. He treated us with respect and kindness and it went a long way in helping us to decide to buy our car here. He was excellent to work with and for that reason we will look for him when we are in the market for a car again. In regards to the actual dealership, the prices across the board seemed fair and in the end we were able to negotiate a deal that made everyone happy. The new car was delivered to us very clean and with gas in the tank. Brad even offered to set up our phones with the car's Bluetooth feature before we left. I really appreciated that there was no rudeness or pressure when we turned down an extended warranty that we were not interested in purchasing just then. We have had bad experiences in the past at other dealerships and so we appreciated the respectful way that they responded to "no thanks". I have had so many bad experiences with Garvey it is unbelievable. To the point that we sold our vehicle to no longer be associated with them. First and foremost PAY ATTENTION to the paperwork they swindled another almost 25/month on us in a payment. The service department (3 weeks for a oil change appointment) Joe is so rude and wants nothing more than to be difficult. I recently purchased a 2018 Hyundai Tucson. This is the 2nd car I purchased from Garvey. The other one was also a Tucson. Great car and great people to work with. Negotiating well - they gave me an excellent price. Sales person was nice and patient with my questions; not pushy. The only bad thing is that afterwards the manager tried to sell me a bunch of extra stuff (extended warranty) that seemed a bit excessive. But, I think all the car dealers do the same thing. Their doc. fee is $75.00 - verses what Burlington Hyundai charges ($195.00). They have a big lot with lots of cars to see. I would definitely cross the lake and go to Garvey. read more

The Garvey dealership has been great to work with over the years. The sales staff have been accommodating, but not pushy. Even more important has been how the service department has backed up those sales. The front end team listens to your concerns and conveys that information to the technicians that troubleshoot and repair your vehicle. They always find answers to my questions. If I could give zero stars I would. We had purchased two vehicles through Garvey about ten years ago and had no issues so we thought we'd give them another try. My husband was on the phone with Garvey all week going back and forth. We went the following Saturday to test drive the Palisade. Over all it was a pretty nice vehicle so we were trying to come to an agreement on a payment. After being there for three hours we could not settle on finding an available palisade that we had been talking about all week with them. They wanted to sell us a Palisade that was more expensive then what we wanted. A separate sales manager (Mark Allen) came over and after telling them we will wait for the vehicle we wanted to be available or we would just go somewhere else, the sales manager stood up and said "Well, I guess we are done here!" and shoved his chair in aggressively and stormed away from us. He did come back and apologize for his behavior but it was a little too late. The sales manager said some very unprofessional things to my husband and I don't know how he keeps his job. We have never been treated so poorly by a dealership, ever! My husband called one of the owners (Marc Garvey) and explained what happened and he basically stuck up for his employees and didn't really care how badly we were treated. They all deserve each other if that's how they think a dealership should run. The icing on the cake was our wonderful salesman at Della Chevy pointed out to us that Mark Allen was sliding in an extra $881 to the total amount of the vehicle and Mark could not explain how he came up with his numbers. We will never go back to Garvey and we will make sure everyone knows about our awful experience. read more
