First of all: when your dryer starts sounding like a coffee grinder and vibrating so hard it feels like it's about to enter the WWE arena yelling "READY TO RUMBLE!"... that's your sign to stop negotiating with it and call a professional. After way too many searches and review rabbit holes, we finally picked up the phone and called Gary for help ASAP. He came out the very next day (during the New Year break, no less), which already put him in "appliance hero" territory. Gary took one quick look and immediately found the culprit: a sneaky sock that somehow bypassed the lint filter, slipped between the drum, and slowly started jamming the whole mechanism like it owned the place. He even mentioned we got lucky: our unit is a more complex top-down dual-dryer setup that's not exactly fun to disassemble. Fortunately, it turned out to be a simple fix. He dislodged the sock, everything went back to normal, and just like that... peace was restored to our laundry kingdom. Yes, I paid for his travel and service (as you should when someone saves your household from Mount Laundry), but I genuinely appreciated Gary's honesty, quick diagnosis, and straightforward solution. No upsell, no scare tactics, just "here's the problem, here's the fix." My brand new washer had hot water when I choose cold water cycle. But it could change the temperature at the end of the cycle. I did some research and thought that the hose was switched---not sure how did it happen? I called several people and some of them said the same thing. Price to come to diagnose are within the range of $85, $95, $105. It could be the problems with the sensor or could be anything else that cost more. Gary priced was not the cheapest. He charged $125 to come out-but he said he fixed this issues millions times and if the problem was not from the hose that got switched-he would still be able to fix it and charge for $125. No additional. He said he could come in 2 hours. When we spoke over the phone-he sound very professional and can get the job done. So he came on time and tested the washer and got it fixed in 10 minutes. It was the hose that got switched. But HOW??? Because older home has the hot water valve on the left side-which is the opposite. Gary also showed me how to find out that the hose got switched? By holding unto the hose itself while the water is running and the machine is in use. Also to put laundry in the machine and open it to make sure that the laundry soaked with hot water. Gary is very professional, patience and worked fast. He got the work done. He also communicated very well to explain how the washing machine is functioning. read more

Gary is literally the BEST!!!! My refrigerator broke out of nowhere. I reached out to Gary upon finding him on Yelp. He responded quickly and offered to show up next day for consult and see whether it is worth a fix. Gary is quick, courteous and reasonably priced. My 9-year old Whirlpool dryer turns on but doesn't rotate. I contacted Gary because of his high Yelp ratings, he's an independent business owner and he's local. My call went directly to voicemail and told him that my dryer doesn't work. He called back and said to text my address. He gave me an 11-1pm window the same day (Saturday). He texted when he was 10 minutes out, within the window. He brought his own shoe covers. His 1st guess was the circuit board, quoted at $150, and switched off the necessary fuse to evaluate. After he ruled out the circuit board he started opening up the dryer. He asked for a vacuum cleaner and trash bag and cleaned out the lint and dog hair the lint catcher doesn't get. He was then able to find the cause. Gary explained that it was broken rollers and belt (showed me the broken parts). He was able to replace the bad parts within 1.5 hours for $220. read more

Sheesh today is a fix-it day....my Whirlpool washer decided to suddenly not work....water filled, washed, with the dial clicking on spin.....and then it shuts off....wth? Great, now I have a washer full of clothes that won't drain....well, I would've called Sears (but they're no more!) and even went on YouTube with thoughts of trying to fix it myself...hmm...sounds like the water pump according to these videos! When I called the number, it rang, went to voicemail and stated it was full.... That's annoying and was about to continue my Yelp search but Gary called me right back to discuss the issue, day/time and asked me to text him with the address. I appreciate his accommodating my schedule and providing available dates. Gary is old-school customer service, excellent at communicating and texted me when he was on his way. Following safety protocols and very mindful of putting on booties when he entered the house. Looks like most reviews are related to washer/dryers that Gary is expertise on. If you have a gas stove that need repair, Gary is not your guy. First of all, he kept changing the appointment time. He didn't show up the first day, wasted my time waiting for him. The second day he came out and charged $80 for using a needle to poke around and said the flame level is normal. When clearly the 2 back burners at the back flames were way too high. Basically, he did nothing, pretended he did something and lied everything is normal. Gave me some BS that the gas from PGE is not clean. I called PGE the same day, they came out within 30 minutes. The first thing they said is the flames are way too high that is not normal. The gas stove is malfunctioning and needs to replace some parts. read more

Clothes Dryer heating function went out & needed to be repaired. My "self diagnosis" after having Dryers for over 55 years probably meant a replacement of the heating thermostat and / or related part(s). Our previous repairman retired so I needed to do a search. Quick & easy setting of appointment after sharing Model Number of Dryer & we set a time window for the following day & Gary provided an estimated price based on my self-diagnosis.
