I had a check engine light come on, was recommended to Gary D's from my next door app. You never know with these things can be, or how pricey. Dustin said come down and let me plug it in and see what it is. It turns out I hadn't tightened my fuel cap all the way. They could've easily charged me hundreds of dollars. this place charged me a bunch of money for something i didn't even consent to have them do and after reporting them to the better business bureau because of that they went on to talk trash to me through that report and also made false claims about me. a while back i went in because my air conditioning wasn't working and i just wanted to know how much it would cost to fix it. also there was a leak in one of my tires and i asked if they could fix it. but yeah the whole place gave me bad vibes the second i came in because the front door guy was looking at me like "who the hell are you and what are you doing here" or something like that. also when talking to them they didn't seem very knowledgeable at all about what they were doing. they couldn't give me an estimated wait time or anything. ended up not getting a call until later the next day and they told me they did something to figure out the problem and gave me a total to fix everything. i said i couldn't do it right this minute so i went to pick up my car. they ended up telling me it would be $300 to get my car back because of labor and the cost of them recharging my air conditioning unit or something like that. they never asked me if they could do that. also they told me because of where the damage is on the tire that they can't fix it and i would need a brand new one. so yeah i left feeling upset and ended up calling them and asking for a refund and telling them i wanted to talk to the owner. the owner did eventually reach out to me but everyone ultimately denied me of any kind of refund. so yeah the crazy thing about that is i had taken my car to another shop a week earlier and they gave me an estimate to fix everything for free. also i ended up taking my car to a hole in the wall tire shop and they were able to patch up my tire quick with no issues. this just goes to show that gary d's is not the best place to take your car. not only that but the way they have handled me being upset has been so unprofessional and immature that it blows my mind. bringing up things that have nothing to do with the issue at hand and making false accusations to me about having to ask me to leave the store. they didn't even know i was upset until i called them after i had already left. so yeah i can't even believe that all played out the way it did but i guess that's how they handle things. i strongly advise everyone to stay away from and go somewhere else. there are plenty of better places in the area. read more

If I could rate zero stars, I would. Went for steering wheel change. Remove old and install new one on old mustang. See my full review on BBB. Short story. I get home and steering wheel is finger tight and falls in my lap after I drove home. GARY says I knew it was that way. Ok, then he has a meltdown and hangs up when I ask if he has any common sense. Lots of yelling and cussing. His son calls later and says they should have never let the vehicle leave in that condition. He's retiring soon and couldn't be better move for that business. Yeah, I'm gonna drive a car 15 miles home knowing the steering wheel could fall off?????? Huh? I'm sure the response will be that I'm the idiot....... read more

these guys are great! I was the reading the review that was left by someone named Alma. I was actually there picking up my car when this person picked up their car. These guys handled it perfectly. They were helping me checkout and the phone was ringing off the wall.It was him!!! He was harassing the employees!! I was blown away and I have been going there for years and Gary is a honest man. i own a 2007 Nissan xterra and I needed help on a check engine light issuue so I called and talk to a gentleman name gary I explain my problem to him knowing they Wer busy I had no appointment he told me right off the bat to come on in And he would try to help me out that told me a lot right then so I got there about 9:15 am soon as I walk in I knew I was in the right place so a gentleman by name Dustin I believe came to me and said give me a moment I be right back with you and sure enough he was right back with me with a smile explain what the problem was and how he fixed it . So I said how much I owe and all he did was shake my hand and say Wer good sir .. the problem was my coil was left unplugged.. so I guess what I'm trying to say is Gary D's auto Took the time out of Ther busy day to check my problem out so quickly and no charge..people this is a real family owned business from Gary to Dustin to the gentleman at the front desk great job I will b back have A great day and thanks a bunch for all yur help.. read more

Honest maintenance and reasonably priced. Gary is straight up with what he thinks the issue will be and he sticks to what is actually wrong with the vehicle. I brought in a company van with no power and he told me it could be something super small like a plug or something as high as an intake gasket. Ended up being a rotted out vacuum line. Gary D's is the only honest auto mechanic i have ever been blessed to come across. I have used them for both my wife car and mine. I live in Dallas and travel a good distance to continually use them. Every time they give me an estimate for repair it is consistently on the low end of what my Google research states i should expect to pay. I have not had any issues with any of their repairs and my cars do not have any new issues after using them. I dont provide many reviews on companies but Gary D's deserves a great review from me. read more

Great Service, Friendly and Trustworthy I took my wife's car in for a sensor problem that was causing the car to stall... Gary D's explained what they were going to do, and gave me a time frame in which they would contact me. Once they resolved what the problem was they called to let me know what they found and the options for fixing it. One of the options was to let me go home (pay just the diagnostic) and see if they had fixed the problem... if not I would need to replace a $130 sensor and would have some labor involved. If they were not trustworthy it would have been very easy to sell me the sensor without seeing if I really needed it for my wife's car. The work they did has so far helped the vehicle, but I would much rather pay $75 to see what is wrong and see if they were able to fix the problem instead of gambling and spending almost $300. I appreciate what they did for us, and if I need the sensor then so be it, I can go get it from them in the near future, but this way at least I was not charged $300 for something I possibly need or don't need. I appreciate that and especially when good mechanics are hard to come by. I cant recommend this place any more strongly! read more

What a shitty place was trying to get a lil bit better of a price because my sisters car broke down she's a single mom with a 5 year old child in Texas by her self. I talked to the owner for just a little brake on the whole deal that I was going to pay cash and get my sisters car fixed. If the car was here in California where I am I could get it done for half the price and that's not what I was asking for just a little brake something never paid retail in my life to get a car fixed. Wasnt being un pleasant the owner hung up on me and when I called back sayed that the price I have too much work and dont need your business I've been in doing this kind of work for the last 15 years deal with mechanic shops everyday this was by far the werst kinky place I have ever come across. I may not live in texas but I do have a lot of friends there and I'll make sure this is well known so disappointing that someone in business would treat a potential customer like this SHAME ON YOU read more

Took my car in for body work after an accident recently. Received an estimate on the spot from the owner. It was half the other estimate I got. Took the car in and one of the parts cost more than estimated. The owner went above and beyond to work it out. My car was ready on time and the work was well done. The customer service and work are top-notch at Gary D's. We will be back and will recommend to everyone. read more

Horrible customer service. I called to ask a couple of questions within the scope of the law. Lady who answers the phone did not like my request and hung up the phone twice. She told me she was the owner and could do whatever she wanted. I feel bad for the employees who have to work with her. read more

I priced some painting there complete with photos--a few weeks later (with same photos in hand) the price went from some $800 to over $1400- with not so much of a "I'm sorry," or an offer to compromise, or any form of apology. The "cant beat this price anywhere" statement was proven false (and done) at the very next shop! (They even said that this wasn't the first time they have straightened up a Gary D's job. The shop mechanics there may be o.k., but the thirty year plus paint shop boss is the real PRO at luring the business into the shop and setting the hook-this fish didn't take the switched "bait", and I will remember that! read more

Gary D's is the best place in town. Not only did Gary and his staff save me money, they are friendly doing it. I was side swiped a few months back and went around for quotes. Gary D's quote was half any other in town, and the work was top notch. Even after I the work was finished, I swiped my garage and had a blemish on my paint.
