I made that very clear when I scheduled the appointment, dropped the car off around 8:30 a.m., and again explained that I needed the vehicle back by 2:00 p.m. because I work a night shift. I specifically asked that this be prioritized. Around 11:30 a.m., I received a call that my car was ready. I was then told that the check engine light--the primary reason for my appointment--had not been repaired. After reading the code, they determined the required part would need to be ordered, and I would need to bring the car back on Thursday or Friday. My frustration isn't that the part had to be ordered. I understand that no one can know exactly what's needed until the vehicle is diagnosed. My frustration is the lack of communication. If I had been told when I dropped the car off that there were six vehicles ahead of me and that my priority repair likely couldn't be completed that day, I could have made an informed decision to either leave the car or take it somewhere else. Instead, I lost most of my day and still left without resolving the one issue that brought me in. To Jeff's credit, he reduced my bill by about $30 for the oil change and diagnostic, which I appreciated. However, clear communication at the beginning would have been far more valuable than a discount afterward. Another issue during checkout genuinely concerned me. When I signed electronically to pay for the oil change and diagnostic that had been completed, the system automatically applied my signature to a separate estimate for the future check engine repair. I had not approved that repair. The part still needed to be ordered, and I hadn't even decided whether I would return to have the work done. What made me uncomfortable was that the estimate already contained authorization language stating, "I hereby authorize the repair work..." even though I had never authorized those repairs. In my opinion, signing for completed work should not automatically place a customer's signature on a separate estimate for work that has not yet been approved. An estimate is not the same thing as authorizing repairs. I raised this concern directly with Jeff because he is the owner. Instead of acknowledging why a customer might question seeing their signature on an unapproved estimate containing authorization language, I felt my concern was dismissed. Whether this is a software issue or an internal process, I believe it should be corrected. A customer's signature should only appear on an estimate after that customer has actually approved the proposed repairs. Because I had not authorized that repair, I asked that the estimate be marked "Canceled" before I left. I simply was not comfortable leaving with my signature attached to an estimate I had not accepted. I also learned that Jamie is no longer with the company. She was organized, detailed, proactive, and customer-focused. Looking back, I now realize how much she contributed to the overall customer experience. Since her departure, the communication and coordination no longer feel like they once did. Jeff has always done quality mechanical work on my vehicle, and I still believe the shop is fairly priced and doesn't try to sell unnecessary repairs. However, today's experience showed me that good mechanical work alone isn't enough. Communication, appointment management, and administrative processes matter just as much. My family has been taking cars to Dave's for years, and my family has decades-old cars that still run great. Everyone here is honest too. They had the opportunity to sell me thousand-dollar fixes that I was ready to pay for, but they're the kind of people who say "let's try an oil change first." Recently, I had a personal issue and had to leave my car there for quite a few days, and they were communicative and accommodating while I figured out a way to come get it. They even gave me advice about the DMV that saved me some major hassle. Their prices are competitive too, and I would still come to Dave's if they weren't. I can't speak highly enough of this place.

The warranty company contacted Troy and requested more information and photos, a week later he provided it to them. After receiving the information from Troy, photos etc, the warranty company decided to send out their own inspectors to check this vehicle and found huge inconsistencies. I will add that the timeline from Troy was off by a week. I have the proof for that as well. I picked up the truck. It did not drive well at all. I'm lucky I got it home which I live very close. I sent several emails requesting a refund as well as my meeting with Troy so that I could get it repaired elsewhere. I never received a response until a phone call from the general manager Austin. He was extremely angry and the conversation didn't go well I felt very intimidated. I attempted to get help through other resources and had other mechanics and lawyers view the statements and they did find that the statements were ridiculous for labor, etc. I finally had enough and called Austin and told him I don't want to fight anymore and if you feel that this company did the right thing then they live with that, no legal action as I wanted to which would allow them to speak with Tom Martino but they declined, they had the opportunity to share their side. I most recently received a voicemail from Austin and returned his call, he told me they would be happy to see me in small claims court, granted this is after I told him I'm finished fighting with him. I emailed and requested their attorneys information and have not received it as of today. He had the nerve to ask if I had the truck repaired, I found that very sarcastic. It doesn't matter that my husband is in the Middle East deployed through next year or that there is a government shut down or that I'm not a mechanic. I was trying to get them to do the right thing and they did not. I am not looking for pity. I am looking for justice and I did not get it. I do not recommend Lake Arbor Automotive to anyone. I've been taking my car to Arvada German Garage for the last six months since moving to Colorado. My first couple of visits for oil changes went smoothly, and I was impressed with the owner, who seemed very nice and informative. I was optimistic that I'd found a reliable shop. However, after my most recent experiences, I've completely changed my mind. After my second visit, I noticed a rattling noise coming from my engine. When I brought the car in for inspection, they informed me that it was the timing chain and gave me a quote for the repair. However, they didn't explain how serious this issue could be or that it had the potential to ruin my engine if left unchecked. They also mentioned I would need new rear brakes soon, but since I couldn't afford both at the time, I put off the repairs and went on my way. Last week, I returned for another routine oil change and finally had the rear brakes replaced. I dropped the car off on a Friday and picked it up just before closing. While the brakes were fine, I immediately noticed the check engine light was on, which was not the case when I dropped the car off. I turned around and went back to the shop, where the technician admitted he thought he had "cleared the code" earlier. He cleared it again, but after driving for 10 minutes, the light came back on. Unfortunately, the shop is closed on weekends, so I had to wait until Monday to return. When I brought it in, I explained the issue again, but they said they would have to keep my car all day to look at it, but I had work so was unable to leave it. I was told to come back Thursday. Already feeling frustrated, I dropped the car off first thing Thursday morning, hoping they would finally resolve the issue. By late afternoon, I hadn't heard anything, so I called them. The response I got was vague, they weren't sure what the problem was, but they suggested changing the oil filter or possibly replacing the sensors, which would cost $530. But even they admitted they weren't sure if that would fix the problem and that it could be an underlying issue. At this point, I was confused and annoyed, so I took my car back without agreeing to further repairs. The next day, I took my car to a different mechanic, paid $150 for a diagnostic, and within an hour, they told me I had a severe oil leak around the timing chain and gaskets. This was apparently the cause of the check engine light, and they were shocked that Arvada German Garage had not caught or mentioned this issue. It was a serious problem that I was completely unaware of. I'm thankful I took my car to another shop before more damage occurred, but I'm extremely disappointed with the service and lack of communication from Arvada German Garage What started as a positive experience has turned into one of frustration and mistrust.
