I was looking forward to working with them after seeing all the good reviews. I had needed some major servicing done on my 2015 Subaru Outback. Cam shaft seals, head gasket, CVT fluid flush, ball joint, sway bar links, CV Axle, and AC diagnostics and recharge. I went forward with getting everything done. They were very quick to get everything done the first time around. They let me know everything was done. Pricing was fair and helped me out a lot throwing in some of the services for free. After we picked up the car, the AC leaked out after a day. We were warned that if it does leak out, we can bring it back and see what's wrong with it. We brought it back and they said the condenser and expansion valve needed to be replaced to fix the AC. After spending $5000 on the car already, we ended up going forward on getting the AC fixed. They gave us a nice discount to fix it as well. When I went to go pick up the car for the second time, the AC was blowing somewhat cold. I contacted May and Bill due to this problem and they told me it was common for newer Subarus to not blow ice cold AC. I told them I would do some research to see if that's a common issue. I called my brother who owns a 2015 Outback as well. I asked him to put a thermometer up to is ac to see what temp it blows at. His showed 53 degrees while mine only got to 71 degrees at max AC. I emailed in regards to the issue and they told me that I asked them to get the AC working but not "ice cold". They said it blows colder than it did before and that it'll cost more to diagnose the issue of it not blowing ice cold. On top of that, I asked to have copies of the receipts to the parts they put on my car since they told me they are OEM. They got defensive and said they don't give there customers that info. I wanted these receipts to show to the next buyer when I go to sell it that everything is quality parts. I ended up seeing the receipt for the condenser and they got it from 1-800 radiator. They assured me that it's oem and got a Denso brand condenser. I called 1-800 radiator to get quotes and what brand the condensers were they sold for my car and all of them were Chinese or Taiwan brands (all aftermarket brands). I gave up trying to tell them that they put cheap aftermarket OE parts in my car when I was told OEM. They offered to vacuum out the system and recharge again for the third time which was nice. Okay, now for my mother in laws car. I brought her car in for diagnostics on the ac shortly after I picked up the outback. They told me to fix the ac, it will need a condenser and expansion valve replacement. The quote was for around $1000 for all the parts and labor. We gave them the go ahead. They said it'll be done in a couple days. After almost two weeks of dropping off the car they call me and let me know they are about to install the expansion valve but noticed the evaporator core was clogged up. And it is located under the dash so it would cost another $1000 to do that job. They made me feel ridiculous for thinking they should have found this problem when they diagnosed the AC system from the start, but instead they had me throw money and labor into the car now realizing it's going to cost double than we originally thought. If we knew that from the start, we would not have gotten the AC fixed. Bill told me I was very difficult to deal with and doesn't want to work with me ever again on any car. I saw no reason of how I was being unreasonable through this whole process. I've been patient with them through the whole process but when ever mistakes are made by them, they make you feel stupid for thinking it's their responsibility for not diagnosing the full problem the first time. I understand cars can be confusing to diagnose sometimes since so much goes into it, but I expect to them to do their due diligence and find all of the issues. I would stay clear of this shop if you don't want to be deceived of using OEM parts or bad diagnostics. But they did a great job at foxing all my leaks for oil, coolant, and diff fluid. Just fell short in quite a few areas. read more

Bill and his team know cars. I am pretty picky about who I allow to work on our cars, having been a mechanic in my younger days. They have fair pricing, are easy to schedule and honest. We recently had a simple problem with our 4WD, and while they easily could have told us the problem was a lot worse than it was, Bill called it what it really was, an easy fix and had us back on the road quickly. Also gives great advice, our minivan is heavy and tends to go through brakes, Bill hooked us up with heavy duty rotors that cost a bit more but have lasted much better. read more

I've been using Park Hill Motors for almost three years, since they opened. Bill and May are great!! When my transmission went out on my old car, Bill sat down with me and priced transmissions (used and new) online and we discussed my options. He also told me an Autozone product I could buy for a short term fix. I've been present when they told a customer they would not charge her for a repair because Bill didn't quote it right before. (It was such a quality customer service moment). Bill will sometimes walk me out to the garage to show me what's going on or what they noticed/changed. This place is honest and provides excellent service. I cannot say enough good things and I constantly sign their praises to friends, coworkers, and neighbors. read more

I really looked forward to bringing my business to this neighborhood garage. Unfortunately, they took my money, including a diagnostic fee, and sent us away with a new battery. Two days later the car broke down again in the exact same manner that prompted the visit to the garage in the first place. Needless to say we took it elsewhere for a proper repair. When my wife called inquiring about the service we received she was treated disrespectfully by one of the mechanics. We will not be taking our business to Park Hill Motors ever again. Not happy to update my review, but I feel compelled. So I made an appointment to have my oil changed and my brakes inspected for this morning. I had the car there at 9 as requested. I was told they would need two hours to evaluate the car and would call me at 11:00 am. So I walked to the dog park and killed two hours. When I had not heard by 11:30, I called. Voice mail. So I called again in a few minutes. Voice mail. So I walked back and the shop was closed. My car was left unlocked in front of the shop and they had a sign will return at 12:30. So I went across the street and had lunch. They did come back ate 12:30 and I asked if they had had a chance to look at my car. Was told they were just going to do it. I decided not to have the work done as I had a lot of other things to deal with. They got really snooty and told me different things than they had told me in the morning and on the phone when I made the appointment. Like we need the car all day. And that I had to leave the car for a couple hours. I said they had had the car for three and half hours and they got semi aggressive saying I was unreasonable and they needed the car all day. Well, if that is the case for god's sake: Say so. I can deal with that if I know in advance. Sorry to say now I have to find a new garage. But this is not all that different from my last interaction with them. If you do decide to use their service make sure you get the real story as to how long they need your car. It looks like they closed the shop all morning to do family business or whatever. Very dishonest and disappointing in the end. read more

Great place, great location as there are hardly any other "mom and pop" shops in our neighborhood. I had to have my 150k Miles service done to my Subaru and was quoted a reasonably good price, well I forgot for a little over a year, realized I was on borrowed time, called to see if they would still honor the price from 14 months ago. Yup, they did! You only get this from a local neighborhood garage. Bill even came to my house once to see the car when it wouldn't start, wow! $$$$&&&& I would have to say that unfortunately I've taken multiple cars here and brought them a bunch of business.. really to find out that they way over charge for their services. My license plates stolen off the car in the lot as well which they did nothing for. The diagnostic fee being huge, and sad to say I've very disappointed with the engine rebuild I had done years ago. They won't discount on anything even if you go to them for multiple cars and bring them family business. I've been looking for a good, reasonable mechanic in Park Hill and I think I finally found them! I already knew we neeed a big job on our Outback--head gaskets, timing belt, and steering fluid pump. I called around to various places for estimates, and Park Hill Motors was (1) the most responsive, (2) the friendliest, and (3) the most reasonable. So far so good. Finding a good mechanic is a significant issue when moving. Like a Barber or Doctor it is one of those things that can make you or break you in you're new surroundings. We took our Prius here and they over filled the oil. We had to have the car towed to a Toyota dealership. Park Hill Motors insisted the entire time it was the battery. The dealership confirmed the oil had been over filled and oxygen was not getting to the engine. Toyota had to clean and drain the oil and do it all over again. Park Hill Motors finally agreed to pay to fix the situation, however, they were hostile and rude through the entire process. They never offered to refund the original charge of the botched oil change, nor did they show sympathy for the time we had to take away from work, the towing and the headache.
