However, amidst the…read moresevere restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, discovered that none of the airlines were allowing the shipping of live animals as cargo. So I called upon the services of Pet Air and, through the special connections they apparently have with airlines, obtained flights for my cats from San Juan to Boston (the route was a bit more circuitous than that as the animals had to first fly San Juan to Dallas and then Dallas to Boston; but the result was the same). I met up with the three cats in Boston as per the scheduled arrival time and then drove my pets the remaining distance to eastern Maine. I could not have accomplished all of this without Pet Air. In addition, Pet Air's overnight FedEx service of the cats' waybill, necessary kennel stickers (declaring *LIVE ANIMALS* and arrows indicating up), and detailed instructions on how tom make sure everything was in compliance with airline and federal animal health regulations made the 22 hour journey from Puerto Rico to remote, eastern coastal Maine possible. In addition, all the while I was able to call Pet Air's phone number for helpful, 24-hour assistance to double check that I was doing everything correctly.
