Frequent customer. Been dining, singing and spending happy hour there for more than 20 years. On Friday, Dec. 20, I experienced something I've never encountered before. We arrived at 7pm. It was a party of five. Three adults and two kids. We sat on the karaoke side at a table for dinner. Our server told us her name was Maya. The check says Brittany. When we sat down Maya asked for a credit card to start a tab. The fuck? We're not at the bar. We didn't order any alcohol. Two drank sodas and three had water. We're not outside with the band. We're inside with maybe five other customers and before we can order our food we have to put a card on file for a tab. Two other adults ultimately joined our group. I guess they were added to our tab since they weren't asked for a card to put on file. The entire situation was awkward and I was personally offended. Again, I've been patronizing Gaspars for 20+ years and never experienced this. Came in on a rainy Monday evening and found a breezy (lots of fans) dry (it was a rainy Monday) table on the patio for a late impromptu dinner. We were greated promptly and put out order in for drinks while we mulled over the smallish menu. I don't usually opt for bar food but it was late and Yelp pulled this restaurant as having an open kitchen still. Food came out quickly and hot. Our server seemed to be the only one working the patio but she kept it moving and checked in on us adequately. I attached a photo of the menu, a bit more options than standard bar fare. Beers were affordable and good enough selection for everyone to find something. The short: Awesome bar close to Busch Gardens with an AMAZING selection of bourbon and tasty bar food. Give it a shot when you're in the area. The Long: It was an evening after the park and we were looking for a spot to grab some late night drinks and grub. After a little bit of Yelping, this spot came up. Now this place is a little unique cause it is 3 different bars in one that are all connected which also has a full liquor store attached. A quick ID check in the front and we were in. The inside is very clean and welcoming. The bar had a wide selection of bourbons with some rare selection as well. Bartender was nice and attentive. Grabbed some drinks and went to the patio bar where there was a band playing. Had another round of drinks out there and then went to the third spot which was doing karaoke. This is where we stayed most of the night and ended up ordering some food. We ordered loaded nachos, tater tots and wings...all delicious! On top of that, their prices are very reasonable on both the drinks and food. Did a couple songs on stage and ended the night. As a side note, the food was available till 2:15 on this particular Friday night. We really enjoyed this bar and will definitely be back when we are up in the area. Gaspar's review time!! I love this place. They are like 4 different places all in one building. Hit up the inside and karaoke will make your brain hurt, numbered paper bags cover the super cheap mystery shots, careful you may get a mouthful of Sambuca! The staff inside is great, it has a cool aesthetic, and who doesn't love low ceilings to make the vertically challenged feel tall?!? Through the port hole door, and you hit the Patio. Misting fans, smoking and usually a small band of some sort is on tap, as well as craft beers, cocktails, wine, and open spaces; some tables have umbrellas. Some have a roof over them! Next port hole door, and wait what dimension am I in?!? A bourbon bar which stands alone in it's vibe. Pool table, tv's, carpet, other stuff I was too drunk to notice. Mostly because their bourbon selection is vast, not whiskey cake caliber but better than most bars. Continue out the next port hole, and you're suddenly outside the Liquor store, with drink in hand. Yes you can drink inside the liquor store!!! Wait what?!? Browse the fire water at your leisure while sipping your own libation. I love it! They have samples usually on the counter and you can taste away before you buy. So cool. Do yourself a favor and swing by Gaspar's once in your life. Dunno how I overlooked writing a review of a bar I go to all the time, but here it is. This place is a great hangout. Divided into 3 sections. Two large indoor bars and a great outdoor bar located in between. The Bourbon Bar features just that plus pool tables and comfy seating. The other indoor bar features karaoke. The courtyard, my favorite, features live music about 5 nights a week, including every weekend. ( Full disclosure: I am a musician who performs here monthy). The food is great. Kind of a slant on seafood maybe, a lot of it fried, but delicious. Hey it's ok to be bad. Drinks are on point. They have a very full rail of craft beer. Restrooms are ample and clean. Plenty of parking front and back. The real kicker is the liquor store. It's stocked with stuff you just can't find elsewhere. And it is so clean and cool. Just go and check it out. Well, it's your typical crappy dive bar. The staff working there is miserable. They all have a chip on their shoulder. The food is mediocre (frozen and reheated). The one decent thing is reasonably priced drinks. I was there last night trying to enjoy a drink and chat with some friends on the patio. As I'm sitting there and having a chat one of the bartenders (girl with a bad attitude) comes up to me and condescendingly tells me to stop hitting my cannabis vape pen "inside" (we were on the patio but whatever). I stopped smoking it and I just was holding it in my hand. About 5 minutes passes and the same bartender comes up to me and starts yelling at my to leave because I was holding my vape pen. She says "you're not cute" like wtf? Needless to say I wont be back. I've spent hundreds of dollars at this crap hole of a bar and this is how they treat their guests. Gaspar's is complicated. You have your indoor bar, your outdoor bar, your whisky bar, your karaoke, your pool tables, your liquor store, your craft beer growler refill station, and your restaurant. You have your indoor servers who socialize with each other so much that you begin to think they're purposefully ignoring you, and your outdoor barkeep who sees you coming and greets you as you're sitting down and brings your beers right on time. You have your perfectly cooked fish nuggets and tater tots and then you have your dozen raw oysters that once tasted like they'd been sitting in mop water. For a day or two. That was only once though. You have your multiple free samples of bourbon in the liquor store and you have that one time when there was a gigantic dog in the middle of the floor and you had to practically climb over a table to get around it without stepping on it. That was only once though. I sang my first karaoke here, and the liquor store is one of the nicest in the area especially since the prices are reasonable. And there's a big old freezing cold beer cooler in the back with all kinds of craft beer and a growler filling station. I guess I've really grown quite fond of this quirky, complicated place. The bartenders and waiters are extremely friendly and attentive. The food menu is not very extensive, but includes your staples such as wings, nachos, fried things, etc. Beer prices are very good, as are the selections on tap for those craft beer snobs. They have domestics as well as local craft beers for decent prices ($2.75-$6 per pint). Pitchers are also well priced. If you like karaoke, this is a great place to show off your singing voice! So I went to gaspar's to get a quick bite to eat whatnot 10 wings and fries it came to 17 and some change which was a little high because I figured that they would offer a wing and Fry Basket. But it was okay because the wings and the fries came out pretty quick but as soon as I got my wings and fries my waitress I guess clocked out because she was sitting at the bar with her book bag on as if she was about to leave I tipped her before I got my food and paid before I got my food because why not? I ran out of soda pretty early and I couldn't find the ketchup because it was not on the table and I looked around the bar and couldn't find it LOL because my waitress was at the bar ready to go home she didn't come back to ask if I needed anything or nothing I don't understand...
