I could give this 10 stars! From the first day we toured the venue, till the day of our wedding, Darrell and Jill have been there every step of the way. Our wedding was a little bit "non-traditional", with some different ideas we had in mind. Darrell and Jill collaborated and helped us put our ideas into motion. Both went above and beyond to make our wedding unique and exceeded our expectations by a million. Our guest are still mentioning how attentive the staff was and how Darrell was extremely professional, yet personable. Which is hard to find someone so genuine! My husband and I will always recommend this venue to anyone! They are the best.

I cannot say enough amazing things about Gather in Downtown McKinney!!! We called them on Thursday to set up a Celebration of Life dinner in memory of my amazing Grandma for that Sunday. I'm still in shock they were able to accommodate my family of 50+ people on that short of notice, but they made it work! Jennifer was who I worked with and she was BEYOND helpful. The venue and decor were beautiful, and let me tell you about the food! CN Catering is amazing, they food was absolutely delicious!!!They turned a very hard day for my family into a wonderful celebration that we will always hold close to our heart. Thank you to Jennifer and all the staff there!!!!

Such lovely, femininely rustic, vintage inspired decor! This venue is actually for bridal parties, showers, and even small, intimate weddings. They offer Sunday brunch with a small, but satisfying selection. They're focus is more on overall quality than quantity. Eggs benedict was pretty good! Their breakfast gravy was thick, hearty, and delicious. It complemented the plentiful sausage and fresh, warm biscuits. They had an ample supply of bacon, which pleased my daughter and hubby. Their desserts were small, quaint, and aesthetically pleasing. The owner's hospitable father greeted me in the brunch line and inquired if everything was up to standard. Oh yes, very much so! I noticed the other tables brought their own bottles of wine and champagne, which some drank mixed with a carafe of OJ - mimosas! Didn't realize that this establishment was BYOB. The service was okay at best. There was a huge rush and the staff seemed momentarily overwhelmed and scrambled about. They took awhile to bring us another set of silverware and took even longer to bring a napkin, but the decor was so lovely, bright sunlight streamed in, and the overall ambience was just so beautiful, that mediocre service didn't even damper my mood that afternoon. Perhaps this review is skewed because of just how darling the place was! Although the interior was a bit whimsical and dainty, my husband was surprised that they offered a solid, satiating brunch! He agreed that he wouldn't mind returning. He wouldn't mind at all.

I attended a wedding here yesterday, and it was a perfect venue for a small (50 person) event. The owner and her staff were ON IT - they did such a good job managing everything (transition from ceremony to reception, refilling drinks, getting good out on time). It was nice having the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all in one spot. The food was great, the decor was lovely, and they did a great job making the space work. Is definitely take a look if you're planning an intimate, classy event!

Unfortunately, the street Gather is on is currently under construction so it wasn't pleasant getting to the restaurant. You have to enter through the art store before reaching the dining area. Fortunately, there were really nice vintage and unusual items in the store so it was delightful to take a gander. The presentation of the rolled silverware bow tied in rope was very cute. Kudos to that. Too bad the brunch selection was sparse offering scrambled eggs and toppings, eggs Benedict, waffles, sausages, bacon, french toast casserole, chicken enchiladas, chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, salad, and fruit salad. Most of the items were bland, not warm, and wasn't enjoyable. Even the desserts didn't strike a note with me. The best food item, hands down, were the mini muffins because they were moist and mixed with the right amount of sweetness. The decor of the dining room was beautiful, but it was not enough to make up for the disappointment of the food. Do note that it's BYOB and they will provide the orange juice. Don't get the peach tea because there isn't even a flavor of peach in it. For $20, it's not worth it.

I went for a Crushed Velvet Mule in addition to Cali, Buffalo (both grilled versions) and Burg B Q. We told our server that between me and my wife, we will be sharing the chicken sandwich and hence requested that it be sliced into 2. Not only were the burgers sliced, it was served in separate plates with sides as well - that was a really nice touch. Cali was a bit bland, Buffalo and Burg B Q were both really nice. The drink was nice as well. There was live music but we were seated near a table that was pretty boisterous, could hardly hear anything. The outdoor seating overlooking greenery and events they do at the restaurant make the place quite different - we will definitely be back soon to try other options on the menu.

While waiting for our table we wondered up to the 3rd floor. They had live music. The place was jumping up there. We are going to have to look up who is going to be playing and have another married date night. The only downside to the evening was unfortunately the host at the front door. Once seated we waited nearly an hour for the food, and it arrived with one good plate, and a $55 "Wagyu" which was a small, twisted piece of sinewed, chewy meat with cold, soggy veggies and mash. Sent it back, and my wife was finished by the time the replacement came - which again, was about as 'Wag'yu as a pup's tail. They kindly removed cost of my meal, and we got anniversary desert. Nice building and staff working hard - just set your expectations accordingly.

I went with the meatloaf since I kept seeing people call it the best thing on the menu, and they were right. We also tried the pot roast, which was fall apart tender, and made room for the cobbler at the end even though we were stuffed. Big portions, fair prices, and the service was warm without being over the top. There is a sweet little story behind the name too if you flip the menu over. I ordered their French toast and two sunny side up eggs with extra crispy bacon. I asked her twice to please make it super crispy. The best part about my breakfast ended being my plain sunny side up eggs. Followed by the thin, soft grilled bacon that somehow came not crispy and lastly the French toast. Three dry, D-R-Y pieces of toast, with no custard flavor or moistness. It was almost just plain toast with a side of fruit compote, not what was served to the influencer on that reel. I powered through one toast and left the other two, because they were m not worth the calories. In the couple of times we saw our server, she asked how was the food and I told her about the toast, (this was at almost the end of our meal) as a suggestion. She said she would have it made gain, and she did in about 10-15 min, so that was great, but her good intentions felt short when the French toast was still dry, although with a slight soft top. Imagine barely toasted toast with powered sugar. Sigh. My friends breakfast of eggs, toast, bacon and fruit was unremarkable too. Service was 5/10'just because she tried to correct the kitchen issue (although late). Overall with tip we spent $50 for a meal not up to par with other great breakfast restaurants in the area,, a complete let down as the place looks amazing and the patio was so inviting. If the food had been at least as good as Morning Bliss, Cracked & Crepe,, Brunch at Lilly's, Frisco Starwood or Biscuit just to name a few great ones, this place would become our new go to place, based on ambiance and the patio, but it just missed the high bar by a lot. I feel sometimes, influencers get invited and the food they are served in a reel is not what two ladies in their 50's get. Pity.

We love downtown McKinney and so many establishments have that southern charm, friendly service, and just love people. We always bring in a group of paying patrons. Early on we felt there was a clickish vibe, but never thought anything about it. We make friends everywhere, since we are travelers . Last few months we noticed a shift, bartender ruder, lack of service, the regulars shifting their gaze as if something was wrong. Last night ended that for us, and I'm sure they will be thrilled. Our bonus son chose to come here for his celebratory event. We invited a variety of people we knew, local talents, professionals, and family. Hateful comments about having a few balloons and party hats and how "you BETTER clean all that UP, I'm not doing it." We were treated with disdain. No service, each person had to get our own menu when we were ready to order, , and silverware after food was served, no one took our drink orders, when we went to the bar-our tabs were closed after each drink order. The bartender, Chevon, (who is always there) was rude and ugly to our whole group and to those she didn't even know was in our group. The new DJ, (Shawn) skipped over our friend twice. Chevron (bartender) who didn't know the person she was speaking to was my sister, said "I hate that guy, all he sings is rock songs." I mean... it karaoke. And that guy she's talking about has been bringing a group of people here for over a year. So carry on the "high school drama" there are a ton of places in McKinney that are lovely and welcoming. When you are hateful to singers, doctors, nurses, business owners, and veterans... that news will travel fast. And as rude and ugly as this review is, it's not near as rude or ugly as we were treated, individually and as a group. If you are gonna be bias to people, you don't need to be serving them. It's sad, because I know Karen and what Spoons means to her and her family. I hope they clean house and start over in the back. FYI (Shawn was a really nice DJ, he was so kind to people celebrating others.) But other than that, I wouldn't recommend The Garage for any new Collin County resident, any bridal party, bachelor party, or group celebrating anything... you can DM me and I'll give you a personal list of plenty of places to go. Many of them walking distance.
