What a cool place and space! I was in the area and it was a beautiful day to be outside. What I liked about this place is even though it's outdoors, it is mostly covered by trees so it provides a good amount of shade from this hot TX summer heat. My server was Alyssa who was just amazing! She was so sweet and helpful and just had such a great personality and made sure I wasn't forgotten even though I was solo and didn't need much. She constantly checked on me and had great suggestions. If it's your first visit (as it was mine) they give you a free time queso and chips app. So I had that, and also got some of their wings which were delicious and a great portion size. Spent the afternoon at The Yard and honestly couldn't have picked a better setting. Beautiful ambiance tucked under the trees with a relaxed energy that makes it easy to lose track of time. Brooke was amazing sweet, knowledgeable, attentive, and never once pushy. Service felt natural and welcoming from start to finish. Had the Cobb salad with shrimp along with an Austin raspberry cider, and both hit the spot for a warm afternoon. Fresh, light, and refreshing while enjoying the outdoor atmosphere. Had dinner with my wife, daughter and future SIL. What a beautiful evening- love the outdoor patio seating options. My wife had black bean burger and I enjoyed the blackened Mahi tacos- both plates were superb. Plenty of good drink options - would definitely get the Union Bear IPA again. First time going to Fairview farmers and I absolutely enjoyed everything that we had. We were there for a late lunch. We ate outside. We walked up to the hostess stand and the sat us right away. Their outside Dining area is great. The only thing that bugged me were the flies, but obviously we were eating outside so we knew that there would have some bugs. We had drinks. The frozen strawberry rosé and the watermelonade. We ordered the farmers grain bowl and added chicken and the harvest grain bowl and we added salmon. Our salads were delicious. It's getting colder outside in Dallas but my friend and I still wanted to try sitting outside one last time and I am glad that we did! The outdoor seating was very cute with all of the lighting and I think that it would be perfect outside to watch sports games with friends as well! We both started with the Watermelonade to drink and it was so good! Very refreshing and we could definitely taste the alcohol. What I liked about it was that it wasn't too sweet and the alcohol wasn't too strong. We also got the Front Porch Nachos with half chicken and half brisket to share, my friend got the Grown Up Grilled Cheese, and I got the Yard Burger. The nachos were way bigger portion than I expected but for the best! I really liked how many toppings there were on the nachos and although the chicken was good, the brisket was definitely the star of the show!! Very flavorful and tender and we cleared the brisket side the fastest. I would highly recommend getting the brisket on the nachos if you were to get it! My burger was perfectly cooked, juicy, and everything that I needed in a burger! Super simple and classic and the fries that came with it on the side were perfect. Super crispy fries that still heated up well as leftovers later. My friend let me try some of her grilled cheese and tomato soup and it was really good as well! The grilled cheese had bacon inside and the soup was super flavorful. I would for sure get this especially on a cold night it was so cozy Overall, I really liked The Yard! Visited last night and had another wonderful meal. Hub and I shared the full sized brisket nachos, which we figured out that 1/2 order is plenty for us to share. The brisket is good, tender and they aren't stingy with it. I'm not a fan of smokey paprika, which tasted like they sprinkled on the chips. I don't think it's needed, but to each his own. I like their grain bowl. Makes you feel like you're making good decisions. Loved the way they cater to you. You can sit in any type of seating and they even separated the main course. Very casual but still a quality experience. Our waiter checked on us regularly. At one point we weren't sure where everyone went. We had to get up to get the check. Definitely great for a fun day in McKinney. Unfortunately we were not able to enjoy it due to weather yet, we had a few ladies greet us as we were hugged by the warmth of the heaters. AVOID!!! I was so excited to try this restaurant and it was insanely different than all the reviews. My friend and I walked circles around the property trying to figure out where we can sit or even place an order. Finally, we found someone and we requested to sit outside away from a heater. Well....there was apparently no "outside servers" that day. This was very confusing because there were many staff members just standing chatting with customers who already paid ages ago. The food was very salty and it tasted like it's been sitting there for a while. Additionally, the infamous waffle fries came out lukewarm which was very unpleasant. The entire time we were in the restaurant I see all the staff chatting it up with the same customers who happened to later buy them all food. I guess thats how you get their attention. Don't get me wrong, there was a good number of people eating, just had more tables to offer, so no wait! Our server was one of the most attentive I've ever had. Water on the table as we were sitting, queso and chips came out as the waitress was walking away, and food was as fast as it could be, as to not interrupt our queso. On the food, we loved the queso, and chips were seasoned well. The burger was amazing (looked like two smash burgers style), buffalo chicken tacos on point, but I was not in love with the club. I am a traditionalist with clubs, and where I loved the crispy golden sourdough, I didn't love the chalula aioli. The overall best part of this dining was the atmosphere. The meat patties were similar to something that was frozen and very tough. It was not fresh pressed hamburger meat, which would've been acceptable for the price. Everything that was on the hamburger was very good and the bun was good. But the patties were not even as good as a patty from McDonald's. Our server did not come very often, but was very pleasant when she did come. The atmosphere was very nice outside and the place was very clean. Fantastic outdoor facility, with 2 indoor bars facing the courtyard. 4 cascading levels of dining areas: a roof-covered porch, then a tree-shaded patio, then the courtyard with a step-down in middle, these are picnic tables with sun umbrella... and misting fans all over! Pro tip: You can enter from 3 sides of this complex, with the largest parking lot on the east side. I arrived on a Monday Happy Hour, hoping for a smaller crowd. Not sure who was cooking, but I will never try Mondays again. The Epic Shrimp Burrito was an epic failure. It is probably better served in a bowl. Both tap beers I sampled were flat as a fried egg The pleasant young staff were good workers that covered the yardage here very well. I came here with some friends a few months back and man was it packed on a Saturday night. The restaurant was pretty warm even inside, it seemed there was not much AC going on since the doors were open. I also came in the back entrance apparently and didnt realize there is an entire outdoor area out front. Parking is a NIGHTMARE. That was the biggest downside for me. The menu had pretty good options. I got the church street club and swapped my side for chips and queso. It was much more food than I could eat in one sitting! But everything tasted good.
