We were in a mood to eat burgers and found Stix on Yelp since we wanted to look at a new place, our regulars are Rodeo Goat and Kenney's. Had read great reviews which was reassuring. You have to seat yourself - there were enough vacant tables to pick from. Within a few minutes, our server was over and helped us narrow down on what we wanted to order. I went for a Crushed Velvet Mule in addition to Cali, Buffalo (both grilled versions) and Burg B Q. We told our server that between me and my wife, we will be sharing the chicken sandwich and hence requested that it be sliced into 2. Not only were the burgers sliced, it was served in separate plates with sides as well - that was a really nice touch. Cali was a bit bland, Buffalo and Burg B Q were both really nice. The drink was nice as well. There was live music but we were seated near a table that was pretty boisterous, could hardly hear anything. The outdoor seating overlooking greenery and events they do at the restaurant make the place quite different - we will definitely be back soon to try other options on the menu. read more

The #1 ordered item is the burger but it tasted like it was a frozen patty and the bun was stale. Somehow the chicken strips were equally disappointing. We didn't even finish our food and gave it to our dogs instead. The atmosphere was...gross and felt trashy with loud drunks. Daytime might be different but cheaper beer and much more enjoyable food is incredibly plentiful around here. We have no reason to return. read more

Atmosphere is very cool and relaxed, great for friends, family or business clients. Service was outstanding! He greeted us quickly, returned with our drink order and made great entree and app suggestions. I had the chicken fried steak, gravy, mashed potatoes and some really great green beans. The Stix is a fun family/dog friendly spot off Eldorado in McKinney. Visited today w some friends and came away impressed. Our waitress Charlie was friendly and attentive. Great family friendly restaurant and bar in McKinney. The food and menu was nothing to write home about but they have tons of space for little ones and the Christmas decor was a nice touch. Not only do they have so many fun things scheduled but even their seating and was so varied and mismatched that it had a quaint like-able ambience , like you are at a house party at your friend's home! Everywhere you eyes go there are interesting things on the wall and ceiling with customer appreciation notes such to quite a few areas! Courtney , who waited on us was charming , courteous and genuinely happy to be doing what she is doing! She gave us a lay of huge space that is the Stix and also bout the events held here! Picture this, family flown in from out of state, everyone is hungry, it's a pre wedding dinner plan, and my bro suggests The Stix. I heard of this place, but never went. When I had their cheese fries for the first time over the weekend, I was blown away! Those had to be the best I ever had, and I'm from a place with quite the selection of food. The country fried chicken, which I call country fried steak, was seasoned very well. Gravy could be a bit better but it was still really good. The food...so many choices and so hard to pick just one. I ended up getting the Chase Man's Breakfast Burrito with the steak covered in queso. It was very tasty yet a bit dry which was remedied with more queso. My friend had the grilled bourbon salmon and loved it. The restaurant was a little loud but had a great family friendly feel to it. We received a plastic cup of warm beer with 1 lime ... Immediately knew it was not the place for us so we asked for our check. The check was $7.58 total. Handed her a $10 She brought us back $ 2. Planning to leave the remainder as a tip... but curious, we asked why she didn't include the $.42 and she said "well that's just the way we usually do it; if it would've been over $.50 we would've rounded up... that's just what we've always done... I went with the 1/2 & 1/2 Lunch. The Czar salad with candied Serrano peppers was pretty good. I'd never heard of candied peppers but I saw it on the menu in a couple locations. This place has been on our must try place to eat. Finally got to try on eve of our anniversary with another couple. They have open seating, we got there little before 9pm. seated ourselves. Ordered beers and nachos as appetizers. Beers were great, nachos were not so good, thin and burnt. Ordered the appetizer sampler on the happy hour menu and frozen marg with blood orange flavor and tajin on the cup. Orders had mix up, we got the fried pickles instead of fried jalapeño's and marg came with salt instead of tajin. Waitress was nice enough to give us fried Jalapeño's and another marg with Tajin. The fried jalapeños are my favorite! There is a massive outdoor area with several different play areas for children.

The place was busy, it's a seat-yourself kind of place. The vibe is very lively and jolly, the current theme is Tinsel town, some employees are wearing Christmas outfits. The Grinch came by and went to say hi to the kids. The alcoholic beverages were pretty good, they don't skimp on the alcohol for sure! I ordered the Serrano ceasar salad, it was a little spicy and sweet. I added blackened Salmon which is a little bit on the salty side( I think i prefer the original Caesar salad ). My son likes his burger with bbq sauce , fried onion and bacon. Hubby had the dirty dog which he likes, I didn't care much for the chili sauce that came with it, had a little bit much cumin I think. Back again for another birthday. This time with 17 people. These folks do not miss a lick. Our waiter, Mikie (sp), was quick on his feet and somehow kept the flow of delights going without missing a beat. The onion dip is greatly improved. Dymond came by a few times to check on us. She asked if the restaurant could take a few pics for the wall. We, once again, had an assortment of menu items, from Salmon, Chili, Patty Melts, to Quesadillas. No one had complaints. This place is dog friendly, so dogs were on the patio. I ended up ordering the grilled shrimp tacos with a chipotle sauce and pickled onions and slaw. They were fantastic. There is a live band that comes out eventually, it was extremely loud, so we moved inside. We ordered fried pickles and fajita steak nachos later in the night. The fried pickles were really good and flavorful and the nachos were amazing. I stuck with ranch waters, and they were really good. The service is friendly, welcoming and attentive Our server tonight was Eric and he did great, and so did everyone from the person who dropped off our drinks to the boxes after the meal staff here definitely makes you feel welcomed. The atmosphere here is incredible we have been there multiple times they have trivia nights that are off the chart and the out door area is second to none. The service is always casual and happy and they are always looking after the customers. The food is good I have had a burger, Chicken fried steak, the chipper dipper with 2 dips and the fried pickles which I would recommend highly. BUT if you are ever tempted to get the Jambalaya Soup run! It is bland and has a weird texture. The "Sausage" are hot dogs and it's awful. Also for clarification jambalaya is not soup.
