It was very quiet (they don't like to overbook) and so they were really able to focus on us. My dinner was absolutely delicious! I had the beef wagyu with bone marrow rice. Two of my teens are very picky but all were able to find something they loved. They were able to change things to make it to their liking. I came in with high expectations, having had four excellent dinners previously here over the past several years; I've never been disappointed. My expectations were exceeded, and my gourmande European wife, on her first visit, was equally impressed. All three of the Smalls we ordered were creative and delicious: the Crispy Brussels (my vote for the best Brussels in the valley, hands down), the Wild Mushroom Toast, and the Za'Atar Baby Carrots. Gather's chef is clearly a Master. The service by Iva was impeccable, and all three of our plates arrived within 5 minutes of ordering, a rare occurrence in Jackson (due in part to our arrival half an hour after opening). Additionally, the blood orange Smash was a great cocktail! I cannot recommend Gather more highly if you're looking for an outstanding dinner in the center of Jackson. read more

absolutely phenomenal. i had the truffle pasta and my boyfriend had the fried chicken. the truffle pasta was the best thing i have ever ate in my entire life. i've traveled throughout italy and this is better than anything i ate in italy. highly highly recommend. we sat at the bar and Alexis was super sweet and a fantastic bar tender. the ambiance of the restaurant was beautiful, super modern with a western flare. i would move to jackson just to eat here everyday. read more

Very pleasantly surprised with Gather. I've had mixed fine dining experiences in small mountain towns but Gather is exceptional. The staff is friendly, helpful, and well dressed. Decent decor with comfortable ambiance. We ordered the Tartare, Cesar salad, and Elk Bolognese. The trout dressing seemed like a new take on the classic Cesar with sardines but without the overwhelming "fishy" tasty. It accomplishes this while adding a smoky and creamy finish. The Ell Bolognese is fantastic. The pasta seems hand pulled and is perfectly al dente. All ingredients are well balanced and tied together with cheese (pecorino?) that melts while you dig in. A nice place to pop-in and enjoy a well prepared meal. I was most impressed by the whole romaine heart grilled Caesar salad. The flavors, while very diverse all complemented each other very well. However the main entrees weren't at the same level as that salad. The elk/bison/beef bolognese was good, hand made pasta is always good, but nothing exceptional and can be made easily at home. Everything we ordered from food to drinks were good. The scallops were perfectly cooked. Our steak was a little over cooked, but had great Korean flavors. The pasta and fried rice also had really good flavor and they weren't bland at all. Overall, I would return and recommend to others. The watermelon margarita is a must try as well. read more

We were extremely excited to try this restaurant for a nice dinner in Jackson. But my husband and I came to a consensus it was just okay. The fried chicken breading didn't have any flavor, the red sauce was bland for $27 we were disappointed. The burger had good quality beef but didn't blow me away with only few ingredients, fries were nothing to brag about for $17. Beer was good tho. read more

The food was good. The portions were small. Our server was very good although she upsold us on changing out the fries to the mediocre brussel sprouts but declined to tell us it was a $6 up charge. No one likes surprises when they cost them more money. We got two salads for $15 each, a hamburger that was $22~ but ended up being $30 because we exchanged the fries for the brussel sprouts. Yes, a THIRTY dollar hamburger. And an order of pasta. We also got two deserts, the doughnut holes $12 (you can skip these, the sauces aren't good), and they are nothing special, and the flourless chocolate cake ($12) that was the star of the night. Our bill came to $114 plus the tip, for a good but not great restaurant that has small portions. If you do go make sure you get the four less chocolate cake, it will be the best part of your meal. read more

Wow. Amazing so glad I went! I read the reviews on here and they were spot on. It was snowy and cold but I decided to walk the four blocks and it was worth it. I sat at the bar - really cute vibe nice bartender named John. I was definitely getting the Pork Buns - and he recommended the watermelon avocado salad. I have to say- the food is just outstanding. I talked to the others at the bar and they were raving about their choices as well. I will def be back on my next layover! This place was a win for our group. Made a reservation for 3 at 7:30pm on a Tuesday night last minute. The host sat us immediately upon walking in, totally prepared for us. We ordered the Brussel sprouts for an appetizer, so good. I ended up going with a burger and fries (basic I know), but it was cooked to a perfect medium (I'm known to send undercooked/overcooked food back). One of the people who I went with got the fried chicken and that was really the crowd stealer. The table next to us even looked over in amazement as it got delivered saying they were going to get that next time. The vibe in there is really nice too, no overly loud music or super bright lights. We were awakened by the incredibly loud sound of an engine right behind our room, sometime around midnight. After 45 minutes of this continuing, and making sleeping impossible, I got up to investigate. Turns out this was the sound of an industrial gas-powered pressure washer or similar machine that a night cleaning crew was using in the kitchen at Gather. They worked from midnight to about 3am approximately. There were 6-8 hotel rooms directly behind this machine; our room was no more than ten feet away. The workers seemed just as unhappy to be there as I was when I talked to them. They said "if they would shut down the restaurant during the day, we wouldn't have to be doing this now". Please pick a more appropriate time to run an industrial cleaning crew in your kitchen, especially when you are right next to a hotel. 12-3AM hardly seems like the appropriate time. You may love the restaurant. Everyone seems to and I'm odd woman out. But I thought the food - Brussel sprouts, fresh trout - was covered up by so many things and flavors that the true taste was buried. I was able to make a last minute reservation for Sunday evening which was great for a large party. The service was superb and the waitress was extremely kind and offered up great recommendations. My wife and I visited this place on our honeymoon. We had a reservation through Open Table and we were seated right away when we arrived. We had the fries for an appetizer and they were delicious. I can't say enough good things, if I could give 50 stars I would. We ended up eating here 3 nights in a row. We had the wagyu beef, the elk bolognese, the lamb chops, the pork shank, and the fried chicken. We also tried the pork buns and the duck drums from the appetizers and we had the doughnut holes all 3 nights. oh, also the Doc Holiday (coconut rum, huckleberry cream, and mint). Every dish was amazingly delicious, cooked to perfection, and every bite full of just the right amount of flavor... But it wasn't the food that brought us back every night, it was the staff. Anya and Heather were just the right amount of attentive and friendly, and the manager, Tony, checked on us and talked to us like good friends every night. We felt like royalty by our third time and, honestly, I'm sad to go home. I've traveled the country full time for 3 years and have not had a better experience at a restaurant. The Gather even gives Disney World's famous service a run for their money. A visit to Jackson without eating here is a lesser vacation. Don't miss out. I know I'll be back 100% read more

It was our 3rd or 4th time dining with them over the last couple years as since we are locals there are many options to choose from.....but we will continue to stop in and have great meals, or hang at the bar for awesome drinks and ambiance (the music playlist was solid per usual!)
