Gather was pretty good, but for this Texas man, I found the portion size to be a bit small in relation to the price, at least when it came to appetizers. We ordered the the bone marrow sausage, which came inside of a literal bone. It was tasty but it's hardly enough for one person, much less two. Take one small sausage link, cut it in 1/2 and that's at best what you get. I had the pork buns for dinner and while EXTREMELY tasty, I again found myself trying to wrap my brain around the portion size/ cost ratio. My wife ordered Duck, and while it's not my speed, she actually received a sizable portion and said that it tasted very good. Our waitress was excellent. B- read more

The atmosphere of this restaurant is very cool. We sat in a large round booth and had 6 people. We had good service. Brussel Sprout app: way too oily Buffalo fried octopus: delicious and well paired Hazelnut crusted salmon: tiny portion and basically a small piece of over cooked fish on a tiny smear of purée vegetable. I felt bad for my guest so I shared some of my meal. Fried chicken hen: pretty good and great presentation Pork Shank: really good and amazing flavor to the lentils but mostly bone and not enough meat Vegan pasta: lovely flavor but super small portion almost app size They had a huckleberry pound cake that was the size of half an English muffin with 3 Squirts of mousse on the plate...it was tasty but again tiny Left hungry, small portions, won't be returning. read more

Nice decor and good menu but the happy hour is misleading. You can only partake in the happy hour of you sit at the bar from 5-6 and there are only a few appetizers on the HH menu. Doesn't really make sense to pay $13 for the Brussels sprouts at the table when you can get them for $5 at the bar. We had the burger and the Elk bolognese, pictured. The bolognese was okay, the burger was amazing. I highly recommend the Brussels sprouts as well. read more

Arriving 18 minutes after they opened (5:18), this spot was jammed packed. Fortunately, we were able to snag a table. The service and staff were great. Our waiter, Siyar, was very attentive and personable. He did a great job and gave us awesome recommendations. The appetizers were great, especially those Steamed Pork Buns, and the salad with sesame dressing was awesome. The grilled naan bread was fantastic (we are still trying to figure out how to replicate it for ourselves back at home!) What initially drew us in to Gather was the "Bone Marrow Fried Rice". It was good but was no different than any other rice. Personally, I felt the bone marrow should have been more prominent in some way. The dish has awesome opportunity, just needs some fine tuning. The entrees were awesome, as our party got the Red Wine Marinated Bison, a Burger and a salad with an extra scallop. Absolutely the best bison dish. Flavor and pairing of sides was just right. We also had truffled pasta and the Korean marinated wagyu. Both were excellent! We had dinner at Gather last night, and it was such a great experience, upon exiting the restaurant, we made reservations for the next night! Last night, I enjoyed the wagyu steak, the char combined with a deft hand with the salt, made for a delicious entree. My wife had the pork shank, and said it was delicious. I tried hers, I concur. Tonight, I had the bison tenderloin, and she had the wagyu. Terrific! I also saw really spectacular hamburgers being brought out to other tables that I'll try next time. My girlfriend and I went here back in August and I honestly think this was one of the best places I've ever eaten at. I got the fried chicken dish and was beyond happy. I've never complimented food at a restaurant before, but I did here after the meal. We even got dessert (donuts), even though we don't normally do so. The Korean ribeye missed the mark, some pieces were really chewy with tendons, flavor was ok, pineapple slaw took over the plate. Restaurant is in the lovely town of Jackson. On the Main Street. This was definitely one of the best dinners on our toad trip. We took our two small kids here and we all loved the dishes. We had the most incredible meal tonight for our family of six. This is HANDS DOWN our favorite restaurant in Jackson. First off, the ambience and service were awesome. Madison was our server and honestly, we have never had better service at any restaurant EVER. She was friendly and smart and so nice to our kids. My daughter even drew her a picture to thank her for being so nice. And THE FOOD. Holy smokes, we had the charcuterie board to start and devoured every morsel. We also tried the insane pork buns and the burrata basil hummus with Naan appetizers. Every single bite was pure heaven. And the entrees were over the top perfect too--from the burgers to the truffle pasta to the bone marrow fried rice and Korean prime sirloin. Don't forget the fried egg on top! Just arrived into Jackson this evening and ran across Gather. Excellent atmosphere, great staff, attentive to our needs. Food was fantastic! We tried the Wyoming Salad, loved the smoked trout addition, Chicken App was very good too. The Sticky Buns, were the best I've had. Incredible and outstanding. Loved the crunch of the kimchi along with the preparation of the the pork belly. However the best part of the meal by FAR was the bison. Cooked perfectly to temp, the cheese fondue with perfect broccoli all made up for an unforgettable meal!!! We can't wait to return. read more

Upscale with a comfortable casual feel. My husband and I chose the Gather based on the yelp reviews. We were not disappointed...I loved Gather! It was later in the evening and mid-week so it wasn't too crowded. We were seated immediately and noticed there is a hip kinda vibe to the place. Justin, our waiter was super nice, upbeat and helped us place the perfect order. We decided to order 3 side dishes rather than a main entree. We thought the entrees were pricey as Yelp indicates this a $$ sign restaurant..should be at least a $$$. My husband ordered a beer and I had a glass of exceptional tasting "Wild Thing" Chardonnay. First up "Steamed Pork Buns" crispy pork belly, carrot ponzu sauce, kimchi. Being that I am gluten free I told my husband I will just eat the inside and forego the bun. There are 4 buns so Justin offered to make mine on a bed of kimchee. They were perfect and delicious! Next up the "Brussel Sprouts" white balsamic, pepitas, dried cranberries, shaved pecorino. I have no idea how the chef made these so tender and delicious but we were dying at how perfect they were. Lastly, "Cheddar Broccoli Grits" mustard potato croquettes, shaved cabot cheese. One of our first eating out experiences in months, and they made it so worth it (road trip!). We started off with their burrata/naan appetizer, which went perfectly with our gin & tonics. My wife had the pan seared salmon, and the flavors and presentation were fantastic. It was cooked perfectly. I had 2 scallops with a side of asparagus - tasty done in shallots and garlic. The bad, Noisy The cook was supposed to be from New Orleans so we ordered beignets, a light pastry famous in New Orleans. They were under-cooked and heavy, closer to golf balls then pastry. We just ate here tonight, and I am already writing a review -- it was that good! We've tried a few places in Jackson, and this is by FAR our favorite. The food was incredible -- between our group, we got 3 entrees and 3 starters/sides. Every single one was top-notch. Our drinks were amazing as well. The service further set it apart -- Everyone made us feel right at home. Even though they were busy, the manager answered my mother's 12 questions about drinks before she ordered. And when she left behind her leftovers, the waiter came out to the street and walked down the block to give it back! This was absolutely a home run. We'll be back! read more
