TLDR; Excellent, albeit a bit pricey. Came here on a Wednesday night with a friend and there must have been an event downtown because it was hoppin' (always a good sign!) We were seated immediately and while I do understand restaurants putting their menus online via QR codes, I sometimes like a physical menu. It personally irks me because I hate to be the people eating dinner together with everyone staring at their phone...I digress. I saw a post on Omaha Food Lovers about their truffle pasta and being a truffle groupie, I obliged for this entree. Since it had no meat, I also added their salmon to go with it. We also ordered brussels to start. The flavor was good for the sprouts but unremarkable. Again, good, but not in my top 3 for brussel sprouts and maybe a bit on the heavy side of oil. The pasta dish, however, was phenomenal. The noodles tasted like they were made from scratch (please let that be true) and the variety of mushrooms throughout the pasta were generous and flavorful. The added salmon was cooked perfectly with a crispy out layer, yet still tender on the inside. Not sure what my deal was but I was too stuffed for dessert so I'll have to swing by around and try that next time. We ran into friends who were there at the same time and they recommended to try the Waygu burger the next time we're in. My friend exclaimed, "This might be the best burger I've ever had in Omaha!". Will certainly be back to try the burger and also tour the basement garden! As mentioned above, it is a bit pricier for entrees even considering the rise of inflation and other similar caliber restaurants. PRO TIP: As of 5/18/22 they have a $75 for $100 gift card deal at Costco on Dodge so snatch it up! Also, they have clean bathrooms :) read more

There were pros and cons about the meal here. I selected the $49 bison because I saw the plate served beside me and I can tell you that serving sizes and consistency vary greatly. My biggest problem was that clearly my bison was delayed coming out because it looked like it had been sitting on the counter a long time heat lamp dried and cold. I cannot say why this happened for certain but I can tell you that our waitress was very nice, very friendly, and took her time. She was the one doing the serving. Perhaps it sat in the window for over 15-20 minutes while she received an order from a table of 4? The chicken nuggets served to the children were very dry and not chewable. Even though I cut it in very tiny bites, about the size of my pinky tip, and even dipped in sauce , they found it unappealing and didn't eat it. It really was way overcooked and just very dry and the coating on the top was hard to bite into and chew even from my perspective. The salads are the best, fresh greens! Even though there was a special request to hold the tomatoes on the salad, everything came out as expected/requested and was quickly eaten. A+ Be sure to visit the basement growing room. read more

4.5 stars for the food, 5 stars for the service! We came for dinner and our waitress Michelle was fantastic. I had the house salad, very tasty, and the pork shank which was phenomenal. It was bursting with flavor and the pork was cooked perfectly (tender, fell off the bone). I tried the wagyu which was good, but it did not need the sauce on it. The bone marrow fried rice was divine, it is one of those things that you eat and it just makes you happy. But be warned, it is very heavy and quite a calorie bomb (well worth it though). I was impressed with the quality and flavor of the dishes and would definitely recommend this restaurant. read more

Gather is in our top 3 restaurants EVER. Definitely our favorite restaurant here in Omaha!!! The atmosphere is fun and light. Everyone is friendly! We were looking at all the plates as they passed. To start with, our table shared a plate of pork buns. They were full of flavor and had amazing, complimentary textures. Then we shared the crispy rice, which again, was delicious. I had the miso salmon over island sea peas and it was INCREDIBLE. My husband had the bison and cobia with fondue sweet potatoes. Yum, yum, yum! just wow.. i've been wanting to go to this restaurant for MONTHS, and it did not disappoint in the slightest! made a reservation for my birthday dinner here and glad I did :) we started the night with some drinks, first with some rosé and then one of their cocktail called the Becky. this drink was SO yummy, light, and refreshing. it was garnished with some mint too which came fresh from their garden in the floor below. there was such a great selection of different drinks here too from domestics, liquors, wine, and cocktails :) for our appetizers we ordered their pork buns, a mushroom flatbread, and their brussel sprouts. their pork buns were the best i've ever had! such good flavor and the pork was moist :) the mushroom flatbread was something different i've never had, and again did not disappoint. definitely mushroom-centered so if you only "somewhat" enjoy mushrooms maybe order with care. our third appetizer was brussel sprouts which were done very deliciously, no complaints with any of the appetizers :) finally the entrees! i tried both the truffle pasta with chicken and the elk bolognese. both were amazing pasta dishes! the truffle pasta was great because it was a large shareable for the table, and you had your choice of different protein to add in too which was nice! the elk bolognese was great too, with a red sauce and tender elk :) again no complaints in sight with these dishes overall this place was wholesome modern restaurant, felt like we weren't in Nebraska anymore either! after dinner we visited the greenhouse downstairs too which was such a unique feature of this restaurant, and interesting to see how it's all set up for this farm-to-table style restaurant! will 100% be coming back :) read more

Our service was great! The server was very attentive and provided a pleasant experience. We ordered the Brussels which were very good, the white wine vinegar maybe a taaad bit overwhelming. We split the fried chicken that came with cheesy pasta, very generous portions and extremely delicious! The hot sauce didn't have that spicy siracha esque heat to it so it was quite enjoyable without the overall hot mouth feeling. We also split the chocolate torte with vanilla ice cream. We wished it had a crust or some nuts or berries to break up the chocolate texture/taste. We made a reservation on their website and were seated promptly upon arrival. Our seat was quite close to other guests and their conversations were a bit distracting. But overall I definitely recommend! read more

I have always felt this location is one of the best downtown and over the years has operated as a number of different restaurants. I believe most recently housed the Market House, which was sadly only open for a few months before destroyed by fire. Gather fills the space very well. I don't even know how to describe the cuisine - the website lists it as 'creative American' which I feel fits. Our group of 4 sampled a bit of everything - pork buns (definitely get) and Mediterranean Burrata for starters then the burger, Bolognese (with elk and bison, very tasty!) and for me Korean Marinated Wagyu - the flavor of the meat was outstanding and I couldn't resist the bone marrow fried rice. Service was excellent and we even took some time to explore the impressive vertical gardens in the basement. I love they are utilizing the gardens to source some of their own food with goals to sell their harvest to other local restaurants. Definitely a great restaurant to check out in Omaha! read more

Love the concept of this restaurant, but was a little let down this first time around. May need to give it another shot because of the starters alone. The pork buns were so good that anything after would pale in comparison and that was unfortunately the case for the braised short rib. Our server told us that they busy and that we would be having slow service which was both a pro and con for the group. At least we knew what we were getting from the start, but I can't say slow service is what the people rave about. read more

We went to Gather for NYE. We arrived early for our reservation so our table wasn't ready but the hostess was kind and professional. We were seated almost exactly at our time. The restaurant was clean and the ambience lovely per our usual experiences. They did a pre-set menu and the options all looked amazing. I went with the duck and my husband the Pork Porterhouse. The duck was incredible and luckily the poorhouse was huge and so I was able to sneak some bites. The risotto was amazing. We both had drinks that we absolutely enjoyed. Service was exceptional. Everyone who came to our table was kind and helpful. They were so busy (I mean it was NYE) but we didn't feel rushed or that our food took any longer than a typical fine dining experience. The drinks were prompt and we were checked on frequently. The managers were also visible and really working. As a former service worker this just made my heart happy. The food was delicious! It was hard to decide what to choose because there were so many great options. We selected mostly appetizers and sides which filled us with content (pork buns were finger-licking delish, crispy Brussels, mushroom toast was comfort food on toast, broccolini and black-eyed peas and greens had interesting mixture of flavors of sweet and spicy). Great service from all the staff including the manager! All the staff worked very well together serving us unlike most restaurants that have designated wait staff per area. Everyone checked up on us and not just 1 person. They were very patient and helpful; no one rushed us from seating to menu selections. And exquisite ambiance! A great find in Omaha! The place is very pretty and its clean. Staff are super friendly. The food is outstanding! Servers are also very knowledgeable. The pork buns are a must-try for an appetizer! The buns are soft and pillowy, and the pork is so flavorful. We also ordered the fries to share, and the orange sauce served with them was so good and addicting! Our server noticed we loved it and brought us more! Once again Gather knocked it out of the park. Ambiance never disappoints; trendy but comfortable and not stuffy. You will find people dressed up for a night out and others dressed casual meeting with friends. We of course had the Brussel sprouts and they never disappoint. We also tried the mushroom toast and it was very good. Everyone's food was delicious but the star was the pork shank. It was so tender it fell off the bone and the jalapeño jam that came with it had a kick but enhanced the overall flavor. Recommend: Brussels, pork shank, and the fried chicken. If I had been with family instead of colleagues, I would have fought harder to eat more than my fair share. I dined at Gather on a Sunday evening during happy hour. The bone marrow fried rice was my favorite starter, Asian inspired dish, tasty and extremely full of flavor. For entrees, the Elk Bolognese was delicious but the pork shank was even better. I would highly recommend the pork. The restaurant ambience is very nice with a wide open and large venue and plenty of seating. The restaurant takes pride in farm to table cooking. There is a vertical hydroponic garden which you are able to visit down in the basement of the restaurant, where they cultivate their own herbs and vegetables for some of their dishes. I thought this was very unique and definitely something to check out after your meal. The service we received for dinner was very good. Server was attentive and food was prepared very quickly. Overall, I plan to return in order to try some of their other dishes and I will be starting with the bone marrow fried rice again. Highly recommend this place. read more

The best restaurant in Omaha hands down! It is pricey but honestly is all worthy. The food and the staff is amazing and I love how you can go downstairs and see all the plants. I have been multiple times and I have try to always try something new and there as not been a thing that I don't like. Also, the Brussels sprouts are AMAZING. Wow, what a great spot for dinner. Travelled to Omaha for work, found "Gather in Omaha" on Yelp and went there based on prior reviews. It did not disappoint. I had the Pork Belly Buns, Fig & Farro Salad, the Salmon, and Jinny & Jack specialty cocktail. Everything was better than I had expected. The cocktail was gin based and tasted kind of like a floral, punch sorta drink w/ a rosemary garnish (which was very refreshing after a long day of travel), the salmon was served on a bed of lentils and delicious greens; it was cooked perfectly, just a slightly darker shade of orange in the very center, and garnished beautifully. The pork on the Pork Buns was SO light and fluffy and the buns were sweet, airy, and just chewy enough. The salad was perfectly dressed and they didn't short on the fruit and farro. Lots of flavor, all the way through. A lot of times when I go somewhere nice for dinner there's one appetizer or a main that really stands out to me and leaves a positive impression. Had a wonderful experience at Gather. First time there and brought my parents who were visiting from out of state. My dad is hard of hearing. Our server was excellent.
