We went to Gather for NYE. We arrived early for our reservation so our table wasn't ready but the hostess was kind and professional. We were seated almost exactly at our time. The restaurant was clean and the ambience lovely per our usual experiences. They did a pre-set menu and the options all looked amazing. I went with the duck and my husband the Pork Porterhouse. The duck was incredible and luckily the poorhouse was huge and so I was able to sneak some bites. The risotto was amazing. We both had drinks that we absolutely enjoyed. Service was exceptional. Everyone who came to our table was kind and helpful. They were so busy (I mean it was NYE) but we didn't feel rushed or that our food took any longer than a typical fine dining experience. The drinks were prompt and we were checked on frequently. The managers were also visible and really working. As a former service worker this just made my heart happy. Wow, what a great spot for dinner. Travelled to Omaha for work, found "Gather in Omaha" on Yelp and went there based on prior reviews. It did not disappoint. I had the Pork Belly Buns, Fig & Farro Salad, the Salmon, and Jinny & Jack specialty cocktail. Everything was better than I had expected. The cocktail was gin based and tasted kind of like a floral, punch sorta drink w/ a rosemary garnish (which was very refreshing after a long day of travel), the salmon was served on a bed of lentils and delicious greens; it was cooked perfectly, just a slightly darker shade of orange in the very center, and garnished beautifully. The pork on the Pork Buns was SO light and fluffy and the buns were sweet, airy, and just chewy enough. The salad was perfectly dressed and they didn't short on the fruit and farro. Lots of flavor, all the way through. A lot of times when I go somewhere nice for dinner there's one appetizer or a main that really stands out to me and leaves a positive impression. My valentine brought me here for dinner - such a good call on his part. I loved everything we ordered- fresh and great flavors. Was a little bummed they were out of two of three things we originally wanted to order but it was a busy date night so totally understandable. The charcuterie board was unique, and my mushroom pasta was so rich and decadent. He got the steak and added the shrimp- totally unique marinade on the shrimp you have to try it. Had a wonderful experience at Gather. First time there and brought my parents who were visiting from out of state. My dad is hard of hearing. Our server was excellent. Made everything clear, explained about Gather and menu items and answered any questions. Gave his honest opinion and clearly knew what he was talking about. The food was delicious! I think if there were more people there it could get noisy. We were there shortly after opening to avoid that and it worked out well for my dad. I have been wanting to try Gather since it opened and finally pulled the trigger. The drinks were very flavorful and not too strong. I ordered the burrata app which featured tumeric naan...such fresh ingredients and great flavors. For my main, I ordered the elk Bolognese which featured homemade noodles. The noodles were cooked perfectly! Finally, I ended the night with a slice of cheesecake. The cheesecake was done perfectly, my only complaint was that I had to share it. Went here on New Years Eve. The place was packed with people, but our server was outstanding. She was nice and very informative. My party got the Brussels sprouts and pork buns, which I have had before and continue to order because they are the best! I got scallops and my husband got the Wagyu Sirloin cooked to perfection. I have never had better scallops honestly. They were cooked perfect with just a slight sear on both sides. It was a special New Year's Eve menu but I love every item on their menu. Stopped in for dinner after a show at the Holland on a Sunday, the hostess was very friendly as was our server and quite frankly everyone we encountered working there. Very convenient to make reservations thru Open Table and we took advantage of their gift card deal and picked some up online prior to coming in. The food here is fantastic. They did a great job accommodating my wife's gluten free needs. The Za'atar Carrots were off the charts. I really really enjoyed their Old Fashioned cocktail. They gave us the biggest appetizer portion of brussel sprouts I've ever seen. I wish everyone would do this. They are quite tasty to boo. My mother and wife each had the pork shank and my wife let me try hers I will get that next time. I truly enjoyed my Elk Bolognese though and highly recommended it. Fantastic service and atmosphere. Really creative menu selection. Appetizers reasonably priced and very memorable. Entrees were great (elk and scallops) although in house noodles were a little overworked and truffle pasta could use a little more seasoning; prices can be steep but with it. We chatted with neighboring tables and noticed all the beautifully plated dishes. Stop down and check out their hydroponic herb garden in the cellar. Highly recommended. read more

Gather restaurant!! Set menu and highly dissatisfied. Manager came with the 3rd soup fix bc it was luke warm saying it sits on a warmer. So they put it in a super hot bowl and don't touch it. After main meal comes no checkin. Steak came medium rare recommended so I went for it. Mine was rare rare rare. But why say anything when already I was shunned for bringing up warm soup and given a handful of excuses. Lobster fried rice was a rice casserole that taste like fish and no lump lobster. Neighboring table I heard ask as well about where is the fried rice. A shame. My other half asked if we should just leave and I said no . $85 a pop I want dessert and then leave. This place has only been open like 2 days so they have a lot of kinks to work out. Took a LONG time to gets drinks out, app came out first. Of the four drinks ordered, only 1 person was happy with their cocktail. If youre going to charge more then $15 for a drink it better be spot on, these werent. The wagu was ordered medium rare but came out with cool center and was more rare than medium rare. I hate to do this, but I sent it back. GM said the medium rare was supposed to be cool center but I disagree. They took it back and came out with new dish and the waitress said that she hoped this was cooked more to our liking, like no just want it med rare not rare. Way too passive aggressive. This place has a lot of potential and I hope to come back to improve this rating but I'll take some time before returning. read more

This place is amazing. The ambiance, food, and service were excellent. We started with the Crispy Brussels and the Pork Buns. Both were so good! The house made bao buns and pork belly were perfect. The brussel sprouts have a unique flavor combination that seriously made it hard to put the fork down. For dinner my husband had the Elk Bolognese and I had the Truffle Pasta with shrimp. Wow! Both dishes were outstanding. We really enjoyed our meals. The food was fresh and delectable. Our waitress, Liv, was excellent as well. She was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Our first visit to Gather was terrific. Great atmosphere and view out of their dining area to the Old Market. Staff was very attentive and helpful, and the food was terrific. I had the Bison with sweet potatoes, beets and broccoli. Everything but the broccoli was very good. But let's be honest broccoli is terrible so it's not the fault of Gather (to be even more honest I didn't even try it so understand this review is from a broccoli hater). My wife had the Elk Bolognese, which she let me try, and I wished I had ordered the same thing, which is saying something because I really liked the Bison. It was that good. Our daughter had the wagyu burger, which I didn't try but got positive responses and smiles from her during the meal. We will definitely be back, and will make sure we get a reservation. We made a last minute decision to go here so we ended up sitting at the bar. Next time we'll try to sit outside, really looked like a great place to share a meal and do some Old Market people watching. read more

Such a fun new place! Love the uniqueness of the glow garden. Our waitress Nancy was sweet and even gave us a tour of the restaurant. The food was delicious as well! I had the truffle pasta which had a great variety of different mushrooms, not just your standard sliced white mushrooms. Bread was a little hard even for a baguette. Didn't matter tho much because the sauce was so good I didn't even want bread. My husband had the pork shank and it was truly fall off the bone. Very unique find in omaha. Before you start your dining experience make sure you go check out their indoor plant selection downstairs. It's just fun to see something different and self sustaining in Omaha. We made reservations this time around and it's a good idea for the weekend. We were greeted pretty fast and our waiter attended to us pretty quickly. The drinks are great and the star was PBJ. Everyone at our table ended getting one. The old fashion was pretty good too! Don't skip the pork buns. Very crispy pork belly with a nice warm soft outer bun. The flavor was balanced with a hint of spice but does not overwhelm the taste of the pork. The bun was not soaked in sauce which is a big plus! We had the charcuterie board which also gave a good balance of meat and cheese! Yes, you'll be surprised at how good the chicken liver mousse taste. I don't particularly like patte so this was a nice surprise. The price of the board was a little high for what it is. We also had the salmon for our main dish. Again interesting flavors of sweet and tangy but does not overpower the natural flavors of the bak Choi and lentils.
