I love the idea of food grown on site. Local food is amazing for both the environment and the economy. What a fun idea. The food is pretty pricey so this is more of a birthday or date night spot. The ambiance is fine. Looks like every other restaurant. Service was very slow. It took us much longer than expected to eat and pay our bills. Unimpressed with the service. The food was delicious. The elk bolognese was amazing. The meat was tender and flavorful and the noodles paired perfectly. The truffle pasta was incredible too. Everyone was super satisfied with their meal. Great urban farm to table restaurant. Everything we had was delicious! Everything! The appetizers, sides, entrees, and desserts! My favorites were the desserts, we split a few of them. We had a lemon basil sorbet, the cheesecake, and the donut holes. The sorbet was refreshing, and the donut holes were not too sweet. The truffle pasta shouted "TRUFFLES AND MUSHROOMS!", my only minor complaint was with the tomato jam in one side and the Mac and cheese in the other my fried chicken, though juicy, wasn't so crispy. read more

I picked Gather for my Birthday celebration because I had been there once before and loved it. Unfortunately this celebration was a bit bumpy. Sat at the bar for cocktails prior to our reservation. The bar was understaffed. The staff was great upon us sitting, however, never got checked on until 45min later and a second drink was ordered at 5:45. As of 6:00 our table was ready (res time) and the staff told up they would bring our drinks to our table. 30 min later still no drinks (paid for). Our waiter was less then attentive and one of our party members went to talk to the bar staff. We really wanted to drink our drink before ordering food, however, our waiter made us feel like we needed to order. Drinks finally arrived and within 5 min so did our food. Manager came over and appologized and gave us desert on them. 3 of us ordered the burger which we have had before, however, the apperance was much different then we remembered. The bun reminded me of the store brand you get for .99. The table next to us also ordered burgers, however, they had the normal bun they typically serve with this dish. The food was great as usual so going to leave it at that, however, the staff and flow could definetly use some improvement. read more

Had a amazing meal at The Gather. Crispy pork was amazing and the fried rice was great. What was not was the service. He came over annoyed that we were there, or he didn't know about us being sat. Then continued to take it out on us all evening. Spilled water on my wife then told her she was being dramatic for saying something. Then checked with me to see if she was wet. I couldn't think of a time on this earth that I've had a worst experience, service or demoralizing. Please fix it. read more

But honestly I had the hamburger and it wasn't great it was overpriced not cooked right but the sauce and the fries were delicious we also had the truffle pasta and it was amazing I was depressed I didn't order it I'm now on antidepressants because of it please pray for my health. My dad and I came for dinner at 7:30 on a Saturday. We were sat immediately with a reservation and greeted by our server Sam, not much longer after. We started with the pork buns and Brussels sprouts, both of which were fantastic. You are able to bring your own bottle of wine for a cork fee of $25. For entrees we had MORE pork buns (they were that good), the arugula salad and the porcini dusted cordia. Food was amazing, our server was great and extremely attentive. We got the pork buns and brussels sprouts for appetizers. Let me tell you...those pork buns are melt in your mouth good. Very soft, slightly salty, a little tangy from the kimchi. The brussels sprouts were crispy and delicious. They are served with dried cranberries, which I was nervous about - not to worry. They were delicious together. I had the fried chicken. Served on a bed of mac & cheese, with a little cup of their hot sauce, covered in little onions and pickles. It was seasoned well, perfectly crispy, tasted great with the hot sauce on it. I felt bad for not ordering something like their wine-marinated bison, which is what my partner got (delicious) but I really did feel like my food was as good as it possibly could have been. After this experience, I'm excited to come back and try more of their menu. read more

This place was fantastic! They take a fresh look at farm to table. Their staff is friendly and attentive and the service was great! My friend and I got cocktails. I got the Becky and my friend got the Caliente- both were spot on. We shared the Mediterranean Burratta, had caesar salads and then shared the Bone Marrow Rice with pork belly as an entre. The Mediterranean Burratta was like something I have never had before and Id order it a million times over. The Bone Marrow Rice was also something to write home about, it was delicious and the pork belly melted in our mouths! Cant wait to come back! read more

Outstanding date night prior to a show at the Orpheum. We set up a reservation online and we're seated promptly. We took a visit to the indoor garden downstairs while our appetizer was being prepared. Strongly recommend the Brussel sprouts, flavor was so perfect and they well cooked. My wife loved the miso salmon while I had the pork shank. The shank was perfectly cooked with just the right amount of heat. Will definitely be going back! read more

Party of 10 Tried Gather for the first time last night. Did not disappoint. There were 10 of us, we were seated in a private room (so nice to have a great conversation). Sam was our wait staff for the night and was amazing. The manager came in twice to check on us. I chose this place because I love pork buns. The salmon was so good. One of our friends got the pork shank and said the best ever. We will go back, next time I hope to leave room for the donut holes. A bit pricey compared to chain restaurants but so worth the money. I have been wanting to go to Gather since I first became aware of their opening. I strongly recommend reservations as it is a popular, new establishment. It has a nice ambience, perfect for date night, business dinners, or a night out with friends. The staff was very attentive and helpful. I was told they grow a lot of their produce below the restaurant and that is why their salads are so great. I didn't bother with salads, because I had my eyes on two of my favor appetizers (charcuterie and burrata)! The burrata came out quickly with olive oil, fresh basil, hummus, and naan (gorgeous presentation). We also had a small charcuterie app, which is one meat, two types of cheese, hummus, and an assortment of accoutrements. The one drawback of the charcuterie was that I really wanted some sort of fabulous stone ground mustard, but I really only had the hummus to top it off. For the mains, my friend had the fried chicken (the name doesn't do it justice). It's on top of gooey Mac and cheese, drizzled with hot sauce, and topped with shredded pickles. I would get that next time! I had the elk bolognese, which was not bad. I was a little underwhelmed with it. I felt like maybe the house made noodles were maybe a little over cooked or over worked ( not sure which). I thought maybe there would be more of a standout flavor from the meat, but it was just a ground meat, average taste. My favorite cocktail out of the caliente wey and the cilantro margarita was hands-down the cilantro margarita. You may think a cilantro margarita sounds unappealing or overpowering. No way! It is so refreshing, not at all too much cilantro flavor. It is fresh the way a cucumber vodka is. I could have a pitcher of that margarita! so there you have it. Go to gather! read more

What a fantastic experience! Tony, the General Manager, was gracious and knowledgeable, and went out of his way to ensure our experience was top-notch! Sam, our waiter, was wonderful. We loved our tour of the back patio and basement, and learned so much from the Grower. We loved her passion and enjoyed her showing us the rock substance (like a sponge) that the use to grow the plants. We had amazing food (started with the Brussels sprouts and pork buns, and tried various entrees: salmon, pork shank, Udon noodles with shrimp, sea scallops) and tried several of the tasty cocktails. We loved that Tony treated our table to dessert for my birthday, and the blueberry cheesecake was DIVINE! The mushroom toast and tar tare are amazing a close second is the Burratta and the pork buns. I had the fried chicken which had a a super crispy crust and creamy cheesey macaroni and cheese. My husband had the elk Bolognese which was not gamey but was tasty. The miso salmon was a bit salty but was balanced out with tart cherries. My dad and bro had the waygu with fried rice. But the bone marrow fried rice was the star of the show, overall a great meal and should be ranked on one of the best restaurants in Omaha read more
