Unfortunately, I noticed staining reappearing shortly after. After multiple delays and excuses, he returned months later and said a faulty gasket was likely the issue. I paid an additional $180 for the part and labor in January 2025. Despite repeated, polite follow-ups, he never returned to do the work and eventually stopped responding entirely. Now, in June 2025, we've discovered water stains on the kitchen ceiling -- directly under the same shower -- confirming an active leak and likely structural damage. If he had followed through promptly, we could have avoided what may now be a far more expensive repair. I'm out nearly $500 for incomplete and ineffective work, and I'm incredibly frustrated by the lack of accountability or follow-through. I would not recommend this handyman to anyone.

I sent him a screenshot of his estimate. He agreed that was his by saying that was his estimate because he hadn't seen the property. But he had said he hadn't talked to me before. Then I got a few more emails from him, each very rude. I wrote saying to never mind and that he'd lost a job. DO NOT USE THIS MAN. If there was a negative rating, he would get that!

Some of the good companies I found do not cover Gainesville area. Then one my of neighbors recommended Retex. She had the roof done in August and Retex was the cheapest quote. So I called Retex, and the phone was answered right away (not like some other places I called). Wes met with me over zoom and went over the whole re-roofing process with a powerpoint presentation (what would be replaced and what might be extra). The quoted price wasn't the cheapest, but I liked how Wes went through the whole procedure, so I decided to go with Retex. The job was done promptly, the crew was courteous. Wes was very communicative during the whole process. What I liked the most is that whatever concern I had, Wes would address them until I am satisfied. Looking back, it would be an even better experience if I told them my expectations in detail before the job was done. There isn't much rain yet, but I believe the roof will hold up in heavy rains. Even if there is a problem, I am confident that Retex will come back and address it. I would definitely recommend Retex to friends.

At the new house, they did a decent job unloading the truck and bringing our stuff into the house. Nothing was damaged. The only thing that prevented me from giving five stars was the estimate and billing methodology. The estimate had an hour of travel time on it, but my new place is only between 5 and 10 minutes from my old place. I assumed that this would factor into the final price, but there is a minimum of $500(ish), which covers two hours of labor and an hour of travel time, regardless of actual travel time. Service was great... Just a little bit of weirdness with billing.

I'm not sure why that's ok in today's society but it seems so. He made constant noises and when he called for me to ask a question it was in a high pitched weird voice, sort of imitating a cat. I did at one point tell him I was not sure if I should be offended by his high pitched woman voice imitation- trying to give him notice to stop. He did not. It did seem as his two helpers were made a little uncomfortable by it also. They moved my stuff, thought it was made more stressful than it needed to be, and I probably won't use them again. The person I spoke to on the phone was polite - too bad he didn't do the move.
