Boy, this was a conflicting review to write. Let's start with the positive. The service was friendly and fast. I had the made from scratch clam chowder. It was actually very good. It was nice a chunky. I think I tasted a little cheese instead. I would order this again. We ordered a few appetizers that look good like spicy Cauliflower deep fried, WI deep fried cheese curds and fried mushrooms. I liked them all. They tasted great. They where well seasoned. The cheese curds was my favorite. I ordered Grouper Sandwich. That was a big sandwich. I loved the crunch. The fish was cooked well. It was nice and flaky in the inside. It was cooked in a nice crunchy battered. I liked it. A side of fries and lettuce and tomatoes came with it. The food was great. My reason for the low rating and my personal reasons. I am not a smoker. This place has people (many people) smoking by the bar area. In the inside so the cigarette smell is strong no matter where you sit. I moved around lol. But if that is your thing. This place might be for you. I have been driving by this place for years and always wanted to stop in. First impression as I walked in was that the place was a little neglected as in the ceiling had webs and other little things. My low rating was not on the food. But the way the restaurant is kept.

Gator bits and fried cheese curds!!!!!

Loved this place! Long history of amazing food, servers are so sweet and great hosts! The gator bits and fried curds were amazing totally the place to stop!!!!! Will always stop here when coming down this area! It is cash only but totally worth it :). They do have an ATM inside.

Stopped in the this dive for an impromptu drink on our way to the gator swamp/everglade tours. Friendly staff, smokers everywhere, high prices for drinks - $48 for 4 drinks. I probably couldn't hang out here for extended periods since everyone, everywhere, chain smoked.

BBQ pork sandwich with pickle and chips at the bar. Hmmm.

Hoping I survive long enough to write this review. Okay, I did survive and well there isn't a whole lotta good to say about Gators Crossroads. That is of course unless you are looking for a kinda seedy, barley a step above a trailer park, type of biker watering hole bar, out in the middle of nowhere. Or you are camping next door, got set up late and don't feel like cooking in the dark. As I did. So, this place doesn't look too bad from the road at night. As I walk in it still has a bit of an inviting feeling to it. Old and in need of renovation but a local hangout type of ambiance. I belly up to the bar and am greeted by the bar tender Tracy. Friendly and quite the character in a interesting way. Don't want to say much more, you will just have to experience her for yourself. They have your usual suspects on draft and in the bottle. Nothing surprising here and the menu is pretty straight forward with your usual bar foods. So I order a draft and BBQ pork sandwich. Beer was fine, pretty hard to screw that up, but the pork sandwich came out looking like it was made was made hours earlier and sat under a heating lamp til I ordered it and to top it off the bun was stale. Sad to say the chips were the best part of my meal. Now to be fare, this place looks like it could be fun at the right time. It has a lot of room inside, a decent size bar and a couple pool tables. I believe they have bands here on some occasions and I bet this place probably fills up with bikers at those times. I do not see myself ever coming back here to eat or even to sit and have a drink. But if by chance I am in the area and there is a band I may stop and give it a second chance. For now I will just wish Gators Crossroads the best of luck and will hope for the best. Cheers. P.S. CASH ONLY. Almost forgot to post this. There is only a small sign behind the bar to let you know. Very easy to miss and they should be more upfront about this fact.

Fish sandwich with fries, kids burger no bun, and yummy yummy gator bites.

Tough place to locate because there is very little signage. We were able to find it after driving around a bit. We found a nice parking spot in the rear of the hotel that it sits beside. Upon entering the area where the music stage is set up, we noticed a decent crowd with everyone sitting and enjoying the music. The bar is inside where everyone goes to get a drink. The service was good...a couple of bartenders ready to help, if needed. The crowd was mainly older adults....ages 40-65 would be my guess. The music was good....all the hits from the Eagles to Nirvana to James Taylor. As a first timer, it was kind of confusing where to order food. However, I did not notice food being served. I did notice a small restaurant set up in a small seperate building but there was no one eating in there. I guess the bartenders take the order and then deliver the food. Would I go back? Not sure...not much happening that would attract me Vibe: laid back....easy going Drink Price: very reasonable Parking: for me, it was great but I could see people having issues Dress: key west casual 4 stars

From the moment she greeted us, there was an ease to her kindness that felt genuine, unforced, and rare. The kind of warmth that doesn't hover, doesn't rush, doesn't perform--just shows up. She anticipated needs before they became questions, checked in without interrupting the rhythm of the table, and carried herself with a calm confidence that instantly made us feel welcome. What stood out most was how closely her kindness mirrored the kind I try to put into the world myself--attentive, respectful, human. Not transactional. Not scripted. Just real. She listened, she laughed with us (not at us), and she made the whole meal feel less like "service" and more like being taken care of by someone who actually enjoys caring. Food can be great anywhere. Service like Heather's? That's memorable. If you're lucky enough to have her section, you're in excellent hands. She elevates the entire place simply by being who she is. Management--please know you have something special here. Five stars doesn't quite cover it, but it'll have to do.

Nutshell: if you are a person who enjoys quality good, not fancy, just properly executed, you will hate this place. Waiter says, "we are known for our onion rings, you have to have those." Well, I enjoy a quality onion ring, so let's do it. Absolutely a huge mistake. Calling them greasy is an understatement. There was also not a lick of seasoning on them. They tasted of bland grease. Also, any server suggesting a gigantic basket of onion rings to two normally sized people is a jerk. Even if the batter wasn't shattered off half of them, it would have been a waste. The burger suffered from the same fatal flaw. I cannot recall ever eating a burger with less flavor. Zero salt and pepper and swimming in so much grease, the bottom bun collapsed upon pick up. This isn't an exaggeration. Flavorless. The lobster roll at least had some lobster, but again, just mid. Salt and pepper escapes them. I cannot stress enough that you should not eat here. My meal was free with the Platinum Rest credit, and I'm still angry about it.

We ordered dinner and waited 30 plus minutes before flagging down someone pointing out three other tables received their food before us and we ordered way before them? After a few minutes three meals arrived and one was wrong and we were able to flag down our waitress who clearly was overwhelmed. I noted that I had ordered the Fisherman's Feast which included Cole slaw, I told waitress that I ordered Cole slaw but NO FRIES and meal came out with Fries but no Cole slaw? She said I have evidence here but didn't want to argue? Really the other 2 diners and a 2 year old heard exactly what I ordered. Needless to say the Cole slaw arrived a few minutes later. The shrimp and grouper were good and clams were ok but slightly overcooked. 2.2 ~5 One diner ordered a patty melt and it was just flat out bland. No onions just a slab of ground beef and cheese making it marginal at best. It seems they forgot to grill the bread and after all we waited over half an hour so they certainly had time. Score 1-5 the other dinner had Philly steak flat bread that was 5-5 so one thing went right. Cheese pizza tasted like it was from a bowling alley or 7-11 so that was a 1-5 score. This place is a one and done for this group. Beware diners unless you are going there to watch TV and drink the beers they may or may not have.
