Best Reuben I've ever had... and the mustard was amazing as well!! Great service and friendly staff :)

Just to be clear, this is a classic biker / dive bar. Not the cleanest, some hint of smoke in the air, two pool tables, a wrap around bar where most regulars sit, and a live band on Sundays. There are lots of motorcycles, and why not, as it's along the Tamiami Trail (built in the 1920's to connect Tampa to Miami) which makes for a great weekend ride and lunch stopover. There were a lot of tasty things to choose from on their menu, so I asked one of their employees what she thought their best sandwich was and she said the Reuben. She was right! I received it within 10 minutes of ordering. It came out fresh and hot and was seriously one of the best Reubens I've had! I also had an ice cold Michelob Ultra (no drafts, just bottles and cans). Also no credit cards are accepted here - only cash. There is an ATM on site. All the employees I encountered were friendly and helpful. My server was fast and courteous. After my delicious sandwich, I listened to the band for a while and enjoyed the warm S/W Florida sunshine. This is a great stop on a weekend (or whenever) ride (or drive). Check them out. read more

This was a fun stop after a day in the Everglades. I enjoyed my fried grouper basket, it was really good. The smoked mullet appetizer was also tasty and unique. They also did steamed shrimp very well. We enjoyed the throwback atmosphere, it suited the Everglades location very well with some interesting regulars. If a dive bar atmosphere or the smell of cigarettes really bothers you, just find some other place to eat rather than leave a bad review. If you want an authentic Everglades experience and some good food, I recommend Gators Crossing. 3.5 stars read more

Boy, this was a conflicting review to write. Let's start with the positive. The service was friendly and fast. I had the made from scratch clam chowder. It was actually very good. It was nice a chunky. I think I tasted a little cheese instead. I would order this again. We ordered a few appetizers that look good like spicy Cauliflower deep fried, WI deep fried cheese curds and fried mushrooms. I liked them all. They tasted great. They where well seasoned. The cheese curds was my favorite. I ordered Grouper Sandwich. That was a big sandwich. I loved the crunch. The fish was cooked well. It was nice and flaky in the inside. It was cooked in a nice crunchy battered. I liked it. A side of fries and lettuce and tomatoes came with it. The food was great. My reason for the low rating and my personal reasons. I am not a smoker. This place has people (many people) smoking by the bar area. In the inside so the cigarette smell is strong no matter where you sit. I moved around lol. But if that is your thing. This place might be for you. I have been driving by this place for years and always wanted to stop in. First impression as I walked in was that the place was a little neglected as in the ceiling had webs and other little things. My low rating was not on the food. Stopped in the this dive for an impromptu drink on our way to the gator swamp/everglade tours. Friendly staff, smokers everywhere, high prices for drinks - $48 for 4 drinks. I probably couldn't hang out here for extended periods since everyone, everywhere, chain smoked. read more

We weren't exactly sure what a biker bar would be like a couple of weeks ago when we were in Florida visiting relatives--but we were hungry and went in. We went to the part behind the bar to get a table and the waitress brought us menus. She was friendly, nice and knowledgeable. All four of us ordered the grouper sandwich; three with onion rings and one with fries. it took awhile to get the food but that's because perfection takes a little time! When our food arrived-it was hot and delicious! I love onion rings when they are done right and these were great! The bun was toasted and warm and the grouper was absolutely fabulous-the best I've had. The customers were friendly, but the waitress ignored me because I was not white. I was in the line by the bar; when it was my turn to order, the waitress jumped to the next person without looking at me. It was not a mistake. If you need a bar where you can smoke, order a bite and a beer, well you've come to the right place! Tell Donna Freddy sent ya, and she might even bring you a free beer. No just kidding. They got great rock music, a couple pool tables, and what else could you want after a hot day in the Everglades. We came here to check it out, Joanie's Crab shack is always closed, next Gators Cross Roads is just west on the Tamiami Trail by a little. We've driven by A dozen times and always wondered....so today we finally stopped. We ordered Florida Avenue IPA and the smoked mullet dip which came with saltines. All their dishes are home made. Very nice smokey finish. There is live rock music Sunday's from 1-6pm. I suggested they have a beer mug membership to which Donna said "Good idea", for the regulars anyway. Hoping I survive long enough to write this review. Okay, I did survive and well there isn't a whole lotta good to say about Gators Crossroads. That is of course unless you are looking for a kinda seedy, barley a step above a trailer park, type of biker watering hole bar, out in the middle of nowhere. Or you are camping next door, got set up late and don't feel like cooking in the dark. As I did. So, this place doesn't look too bad from the road at night. As I walk in it still has a bit of an inviting feeling to it. Old and in need of renovation but a local hangout type of ambiance. I belly up to the bar and am greeted by the bar tender Tracy. Friendly and quite the character in a interesting way. Don't want to say much more, you will just have to experience her for yourself. They have your usual suspects on draft and in the bottle. Nothing surprising here and the menu is pretty straight forward with your usual bar foods. So I order a draft and BBQ pork sandwich. Beer was fine, pretty hard to screw that up, but the pork sandwich came out looking like it was made was made hours earlier and sat under a heating lamp til I ordered it and to top it off the bun was stale. Sad to say the chips were the best part of my meal. Now to be fare, this place looks like it could be fun at the right time. It has a lot of room inside, a decent size bar and a couple pool tables. I believe they have bands here on some occasions and I bet this place probably fills up with bikers at those times. I do not see myself ever coming back here to eat or even to sit and have a drink. But if by chance I am in the area and there is a band I may stop and give it a second chance. For now I will just wish Gators Crossroads the best of luck and will hope for the best. Cheers. P.S. A great local bar with lots of unusual characters inside. On Sundays they often have live bands outside. Although there may be a lot of motorcycles out there it is more white collar bikers and we can warriors then motorcycle gang members. Local dive atmosphere: 4 stars. Typical bar: 2 stars. Food: 1.5 star. I shall explain... If you're some Yankee out of Jersey or Philly touring the country, grab a couple of guido buddies and ride over to this place. It's rustic fish camp meets trailer park bar in the Everglades. Take some pictures, buy some chainsaw totem art and get back in the convertible corvette. Success. As far as bars, very small draft assortment, some bottles, and you'll wonder if the glasses are clean. Hey, it's a dump... but that's part of the draw. If the bathrooms don't scare you off, then you've spend some time in truck stops and marine launches and are probably comfortable pissing outdoors. So be it... The food? It's hit or miss. (Those of you who left 5 stars on food, have you ever eaten anywhere besides Golden Coral or Dennys? Seriously!) The fare is Dennys meets soup kitchen quality and taste, with the exception being the gator bites, which were good, a solid 3 for gator. At least they got their namesake right. The accompanying sauce and tartar almost ruin them though because they're cheap-out of the can-Sysco food service crap, and unimpressive. The battered and fried grouper was a lot like Gordon's frozen fish sticks but at $15.95 (Not Gordon Ramsay, but the yellow box Gordon at Publix grocery.) Wings and burgers rate as good as Dennys. If you're a connoisseur into food, don't bother...or turn off your taste buds and step right up because you won't be impressed. Me, I can cook. I've also eaten well. This is not eating well. But it will feed you. The food will be hot, but you'll probably have to ask for (off brand, crappy refillable Sysco) ketchup for your fries because I did...twice. My friends love this place, but they're also the sort that would jump up and down with excitement if they can smoke inside and use vulgar language. Is it really that big of a novelty that you can smoke in a restaurant? Who cares! Restaurant = Food. Bar = Drinks (beers). This place lacked in both. Service was hit or miss. One waitress seemed stoned and didn't come back after taking orders until it was time for the check. Hey, might have ordered a refill but...where in the shambles were you? It wasn't busy. The other waitress was more on her game, didn't quite merit my 35% tip but I gave it anyway. Read this, and earn it next time please! I have served my ass off when I was waiting tables / running bar and this was like 'Shrug' 'I'm here all day' 'Shrug' PS: If you order water it will be brought to you in a plastic bottle and you'll be charged $2. I loved it. I went during the day and had yuenglings and gator bites after jet skiing and I thought it was awesome. The bar tender was a great guy funny and great personality. It is a bar kinda looks like a biker bar but I didn't see any bikers. I give it five stars because I enjoyed it and it was great for what it is. Epitome of a dive bar. Gator bites a hit and tasty; rest of the food not so much; service not so much. Liked the offer of live music outside and pool tables; as well as a fresh fruit/veggie stand. Obviously a biker destination . Rated a two as the service was lacking as was the hamburgers we ordered. By the looks the pulled pork might have been a better option. Was attending a Convention at the JW Marriott last week and on some free deciding to venture out to Goodland!!! We stumbled in on this bar!!! Although we do not smoke when we walked in it was such a nice from locals we had to stay for at least a drink! We ended up also ordering Gator nuggets which were super!!! The people were so nice and inviting we enjoyed ourselves and when leaving we're welcomed back!! It's not our everyday place but cannot forget the real sweet people!!! Love to you all!!! Some chic said I was paying for her drink. The bartender said nothing to me until after the fact and it's cash only. I wasn't planning on paying for her drink and a GOOD bartender would of asked first before serving. Not good practices. I didn't have enough cash and couldn't get served any more. She said snotty like you didn't pay for the last drink. I paid for my drink. Just wasn't paying for the redhead bimbo that came in. Won't come back and have already told the abate about it to. deserves 0 stars !!! Stopped by after everglades and it was terrible ! We had gator bites (they were ok) fish and chips (just ok) we order a basket of fried picKles. We recieved 4 pickle spears barely "fried" for 5$. Cole slaw was horrible. Silverware wasn't clean. Couldn't eat indoors because there was so much smoke. After our 70$ bill came we gave her our card and she told us they only accept cash. No signs anywhere saying this . DONY WASTE YOUR TIME ON THIS PLACE read more
