What a nice find. This was the first time we visited here an what a delightful place. The food was delicious and the pastries were authentic French. We had smoked salmon Benedict, smoked salmon sandwich on French Bread, French toast, mushroom Swiss ham crepe, croissant, scrambled eggs and bacon, orange juice, apricot pastry and cherry pastry. We ordered a baguette, apple turnover, almond croissant, and almond cake to go. We haven't eaten the pastries we ordered to go yet but as for the rest of the food...eggs Benedict was delicious. Eggs were poached perfectly and served with a a nice little salad with a very nice Dijon mustard dressing. The other highlight was the crepe. Crepes are a must here. I'm a Pastry Chef ‍ this place is the real deal. All the pastry is hand made and Rolled in house. Not many pastries are made this way anymore. The ingredients(pastry cream , marzipan, fruit etc ) are FRESH, not frozen or dried. The owner speaks with an accent. It feels so European in a strip mall. There's even music for your enjoyments. Pros: Wow, delicious food here! We ordered the full French toast (included eggs and fruit), veggie quiche with salad (with tasty Dijon dressing),and one of the most wonderful cups of coffee I've had in a long time. Also bought a chocolate twist and croissants to go (yummy). Cons: Service :( :( :( It was super slow (probably due to a large breakfast crowd). Not a problem, we just waited patiently and enjoyed the atmosphere. However, the actual servers were very kurt, snobby and straight up rude. Why? I just don't know after our own smiles, pleases, and thank yous. (Isn't that what the servers should be doing as well?!) We did not feel comfortable at all due to this. As customers, we pay more here to be served very good food, yet the servers treat their customers poorly - so that shows me that they don't care nor appreciate their clientele. We came two days in a row and service was exactly the same as described. I've often wondered why sometimes eateries have great food but poor service, but instead of pondering this at Grain de Cafe, I'll save my energy and just go elsewhere. Food seems decent but service was horrible, person who took our order was very rude and stuck up. He generally seemed irritated to be there. Gave us our pastries with no utensils and then we waited an unreasonable amount of time. We finally had a server who brought out a bagel then told us to go back in to get our drinks. A casual French cafe conveniently located in Naples. We heard about Grain de Cafe through a friend who had recently been. We came in for lunch on a busy Friday. We liked that it was fairly casual and the prices were moderate. It is the kind of place where everything is cooked with love. Most of our group ordered crepes and omelette and we all ordered various baked goods which were insanely good. They have alcoholic options as well so you can make any breakfast or lunch a little extra fun. Of note I had a special shrimp croissant that had a warm veloute type sauce with lots of little shrimp. The closest way I could describe it would be a bowl of shrimp bisque over a buttery croissant. Overall an awesome little place tucked away in a strip mall. read more

Terrible experience! I ordered brioche bread and it was a complete fail! They told me it would be ready in 40 minutes. I went in and they said it would be another 20 minutes. Went back again and it was still not ready. Basically, they told me I was out of luck.... an hour later. Disappointed!! I wanted authentic brioche and ended up with Publix brioche (which by the way was delicious). Not ever going back to Grain de Cafe. read more

Grain De Cafe... which can be confused with grande cafe, is a french owned pastry shop and eatery. This is my second year dining there and let me start by saying they have got their kitchen done well. This is a family owned and operated shop by a authentic french chef. I say that because his accent, and the fact that he speaks french to all of the employees. The Cafe is very cozy and delightful with beautiful painting on the walls and the smell of fresh pastries in the air. They have a beautiful selection of all types of tartes, tarte tatin, exquisite eclairs and macaroons, and croissants. The prices are a bit on the high side, but it is near the pricier side of Naples. Food is fresh and made to order every time. Be aware that the soups do come cold when given in take out, dont ask me why, they just do. Their salads are refreshing and delicious. And of course the sweets are airy, light and outstanding. I overheard some of the customers mentioning that the chef makes the best cappuccinos he has ever had. The only downside is that the portions are not very large. You know the I will have to be back and try some more of the pastries and french cafe goodies. Great little french cafe. Visited here numerous times on our mini vacation. Highly recommend the pastry's and cappuccino.

I have now been here several times in the last couple weeks. Ignore the poor reviews, probably some nasty competitor. The food, from pastries to egg dishes to badger sandwiches and quiches has been excellent. Perhaps warm and fuzzy does not describe the service, but the worst I have seen is just "no nonsense efficient". And some of the waitstaff is warm and friendly. My only nitpick is when you order an espresso or coffee you have to wait at the counter, which can be fairly long when they are busy. I wish they would bring the drink to your table when ready, as they do with the rest of your food. If you like real French pastries, don't miss it. read more

April in Naples Florida may not be April in Paris but head over to the Grain de Café and you will be damn close. Four for breakfast sat outside good system where you go inside to order and they give you a number for the table and they bring the food out to you. We all had sandwiches of one kind or another my favorite was Le Lyonnais with the dry sausage and small pickles. It appears you have to speak French to get any kind of service in this place. I went in for an omelet and had to wait 10 minutes to place my order as the owner spoke in French to some friends-this guy brings a whole new meaning to rude. The owner is also quite a bully. I stood next to him at Publix as he screamed at the young girl making his sandwich. Apparently it was not made like they do it in France. I would vote to send this guy back to France and get him out of Naples. He gives a bad name to French people and their already tainted culture. Decided to venture to a different French cafe rather than our go-to down the street. I had high hopes because the menu looked amazing. Ambiance is excellent and pastries looked great. No table service, which is not bad but doesn't feel welcoming. Ordered breakfast items and a couple of drinks. Cooks/preps looked overwhelmed and gave me a bad vibe and rightfully so. Plates came out and no drinks and no bacon. A few minutes later I spoke with hostess/cashier about missing food and drinks to which I was told drinks were coming and bacon was forgotten. Hot chocolate had little to no flavor, pretty much was steamed milk. The bacon was brought and looked like shriveled pieces straight out of the microwave. Side salad that came with both plates was made with iceberg lettuce and was saturated with dressing, almost like coleslaw. And the Béchamel crepe.....Sorry but I have to stop. Hope this comes out as constructive, rather than just negative, but you can be better in the breakfast side. And again, we didn't try the pastries, but they looked amazing. read more

Authentic French! We came for breakfast. The pastries (choc brioche and almond croissant) and coffee are delicious. Quaint little place in the Publix shopping center. These were the most amazing pastries I've ever tasted! I wish I could've had one of everything but, you know, budget and calorie constraints and all that, we stuck to splitting three. Raisin roll, chocolate croissant, almond croissant. The almond croissant was so fresh from the oven it was deliciously warm. Lattes were nice and foamy. Pastries are a little more expensive than say, Starbucks, but considering they're made in-house and fresh and not being unwrapped from plastic after being made days (if not more) before, isn't it worth it? Service was quite friendly - having not been here during the prior owner's tenure I can't compare. French radio station playing on the speakers makes the environment like a little slice of Paris. Amazing food! We've dined here for lunch on and off for the past several years when in Naples. It's authentic French in every way. Beautiful pastries and a very nice breakfast and lunch menu. We love the baguette sandwiches with various fillings. Alfresco dining is available but very popular here. Generally we've grabbed a table inside and there's generally no wait. Decorated in true French Cafe decor and even French speaking owners and many employees give a most enjoyable experience. But the food..... magnificent! read more

It's hard to say anything about Grain De Cafe. On the surface they look nice and they gained my interest, but aside from slightly overpriced-underwhelming pastries, there isn't much here. The ownership doesn't seem pleasant or supportive. I came here to the reviews of this place, curious of what other people thought and saw that the owner has lurked review sites, ready to scold anyone that doesn't give him a perfect score. sad. At the drop of a hat, he attempts to throw passive aggressive apologies and states that previous comments were from the previous owner instead of trying to understand the complaint. Laughable. No doubt this review will be met with disgusting accusations of racism, abuse, or that the complaint is unfounded because this shop is somehow above reproach. You're not. There is no excuse for having a rude wait-staff, nor inconsistency in your baking. Blaming crowd level, or blaming your wife is neither clever, nor graceful. I enjoyed the coffee, but it was a bit sour. -I am not interested in hearing any response or rebuttal from this location. I do not doubt it will be filled with complaining, false-statistic flinging, and deflecting. If you want people to leave good reviews, don't be so unreasonably unkind to those sharing their stances on your coffee-to-go shop. No stars read more

The food at this hidden French gem is great! What a great find while on vacation in SW Florida. It's authentic and owned by actual French people from the north of France. The croissant was buttery and fantastic and just like ones I've had in France and Switzerland. I would have given it Five Stars had the service been better. But then again it's a French cafe so maybe the lack of service is to be expected. read more

My husband and I have been going here for several years. The croissants and pasties are all truly French style prepared FRESH at the restaurant and are wonderful! We are in Naples part time in the fall and winter. When we are in Naples, one VERY IMPT part of my husband's daily routine in the morning is to go to Grand de Cafe and get a croissant and if he's very hungry, some quiche. Everything is fabulous!!!! He stays thin regardless and I'm not so lucky. I join him from time to time for lunch which offers a great selection of French food that everyone loves to eat, because lunch time is very busy! Fabulous homemade soups, quiche, salads, sandwiches and numerous desserts and pastries. The French owners , their chefs and service staff are great! Grand de Cafe hours and services have expanded over the last couple of years, which is wonderful!
