Every 3-4 months, my mom, sister, and I treat ourselves to a girls' day at GC Skin--and we absolutely love it! Located in Sherman Oaks on Riverside Drive, parking can be a bit tricky, so I recommend arriving a little early in case you need time to find a spot. Once inside the building, Dr. Luciana's office is cozy, clean, and beautifully designed. Her staff--especially Joseline--is always warm, friendly, and quick to respond to any questions. I work on camera, so I'm rather precious about my face, (the rest of my body not so much!). Two minutes into my consult with Dr. Luciana though, all my anxiety melted away. This woman has a lovely calming presence, is patient and extremely knowledgeable, not to mention THOROUGH! I get the feeling she's way overqualified to be performing minimally invasive treatments/procedures and that she could certainly charge much more than she does. When I first met her I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted done, I just wanted to look better than I did (and by better I mean younger - like my 35 year old self - I'm about to be 40). Dr. Luciana suggested "baby" Botox and Morpheus 8 (micro needling plus radio frequency). Subtle, "natural" enhancements were key ;) I have a lot of friends who use Botox, and in all our conversations over the years no one has ever mentioned their practitioner measuring distances between features to help achieve symmetry... Dr. Luciana pointed out my right eyebrow is a millimeter and a half lower than my left (which I kind of knew), but by strategically placing a particular amount of Botox, she could help raise it. And, it worked. I LOVE the results. Now for Morpheus 8. After she explained how the technology works and the kind of results one can expect (at my Botox appointment), I did some research at home. Let me just tell you, Real Self has a trove of horror stories! This is a relatively new machine, so knowledge, training and experience with micro needling in general, makes all the difference. You need to go to someone who knows what they're doing! This is why I truly value Dr. Luciana's attention to detail. I'm not gonna lie, it's uncomfortable, the neck especially, even with topical and injectable lidocaine (gas is available too), but I'm about to do my third and final session and by golly is it worth it!!! You're red for a day or two, but it's a small price to pay to look ten years younger! If you want to improve lines, wrinkles, redness, scars, tone etc., I wouldn't waste your time/money on anything or anyone else. I'm so impressed by Dr. Luciana, I recommend GC Skin to all my family, friends and acquaintances. I never thought I'd have the confidence to go about town barefaced, but now I do and I couldn't be happier. read more
