When I brought my van in on October 22,2024 I explained there were noises coming from underneath the van. They could not give me a ride , so I had to make arrangements to get a ride to work. They called me to say the van was ready for pickup and they found the exhaust system heat shield on the down pipe loose and rattling and they re-secured it and the noise was gone The total bill was $72.01. However, the noise persist so I took it to another mechanic. The diagnosis was the Left and Right Front Sway Bar Links needed replaced and the repair was done. Since then , the noise was eliminated. Tried to order a replacement part online. Gearheads was suggested as an option for installation with a price quoted. Sounds TGTBT, right? It is. Call Gearheads to confirm was told to double-check that the part was right. Did so with dealer. Called again. Gearheads said that if part was wrong, they would still charge installation fee for part because they would have to install it to verify that it was right. "Happened before." I asked if there was a way to verify before incurring costs. Was told that if I show up with part, it was my problem since I did not pay for their "expertise" in verifying that the part was right. Have since notified the website that Gearheads is badmouthing the idea that they would install their parts and that they remove them from their recommended list. They seemed concerned. My warning: a shop that tries to insult your intelligence (and raise price) after they were referred seems to be one to not use. I won't. read more

I highly recommend these guys! I have a 2018 Honda Accord. I wanted a hitch put on the car for my bike rack. Honda will not install these on my car. I got the Gearheads name from a hitch manufacturer. There were issues that had to do with the hitch and my car. These guys took major time and effort to help me get everything worked out. My check engine light was on, my car under warranty as long as I went to one of their approved garages. Gear Heads must not have an up to date diagnostic computer because after my claim was rejected I took it to a different mechanic and he had my car up and running for 20% of the cost that I was quoted at gear heads. read more

I can't really speak on their service quality, but their customer service is hot garbage. I called a few weeks ago to get an estimate on car repairs and they never even gave me a call back. I would never recommend anyone to go somewhere where the employees won't even give you a call back to tell you whether or not they would do the service. read more

Been there twice for actual repair work (once parts are in). The first time they took 3 days to fix my AC. 3 days. When I picked up my car, I found my owner's manual on the passenger seat. What were they doing going through my glove box without my permission? And why does a mechanic need to look at my owner's manual? The second time I wanted to replace a lightbulb in the instrument cluster. They tried telling me it would take some time. I said I saw on YouTube that it takes just minutes with a magnetic screw driver to pull out the bezel and instrument cluster. The service person replied in a snotty tone, "Well then let YouTube change the bulb." That is absolute crappy customer service. Whenever I ask how long something will take, I get the answer that it could be 1 hour, it could be 5 hours, we don't know. A competent mechanic can give an estimate how long it will take to diagnose and fix a problem. They also don't make appointments. It's always, drop your car off first thing in the morning, they'll get to it when they get to it. They're also extremely expensive. I'm only going there because I drive an old car that other mechanics in the area won't work on due to its age, and my usual mechanic is closed due to fire. Over the 32 years and 415,000 miles I've had my car, through living in states from coast to coast, I've never seen an auto repair shop run like this one. Gearheads does get the job done, if you're interested in the bottom line. But I would only use them as a last resort. read more

Performed a repair at a third of the cost of the dealership. Fuse melted the slot in the fuse box, dealer wanted to replace entire fuse box and perform rewiring. Thinking like a true mechanic, Gearheads installed a new fuse, that bypassed the fuse box, works just as well, is just as safe, and just as accessible. Smart, and saved us about $1000 read more
