Holy Shambalah This roti wan lef mi fi ded it's so good. We ordered the aloo pie, doubles, goat roti with buss up. The gravy was delicious and NOT too salty. The spicy sauce had my nose running. Too many black restaurant are using hot sauce that caters to the yt man fragile tongue. This was fragrant and eloquent for the olfactory nerves. The goat hat too much bone but again the quality of the gravy made that forgivable. My food spilled in the take out bag so I had to return for repackaging and they did it with no question or hesitation. Even gave me a free hot and tamarind sauce. read more

After a few reviews from some of my family members, I had to give this place a try. Customer service was good! The restaurant was very clean! I ordered a beef roti with buss up shot (paratha) and my boyfriend ordered a chicken roti with dhalpuri. Both came with tamarind sauce and pepper. Beef roti: I really wished that they gave me more curried potato and channa (chickpeas) instead of the gravy from the beef. Reason? The curried potato and channa was AMAZING and I wanted to enjoy more of those authentic flavors and spices, all of which the beef did not really present. The buss up shot was buttery soft and it complimented the dish just right. Chicken roti: my boyfriend enjoyed the flavors of his roti but said that the chicken, mostly chicken breast, was really dry. However, he said that the curried potato and channa (which was scarce) was delicious and like me, he hoped to have had more. I think if this could be something the restaurant took into consideration, the roti would be a hit. The curry flavors are superb but I really wished that we had more of it to give a solid review. DISCLAIMER: I came here for a TGTG pickup. For 4.99$ I got an end of the day meal. Though it wasn't an exorbitant amount of food for Too Good To Go, it was definitely a good value for the quality of food. The entree meats were in variety, flavourful, and seasoned well without being too salty (sometimes end of the day buffet food concentrates as it's been sitting in the sauce). I'd definitely get another pickup, though be warned that there's just one personw working so be patient. read more

They closed in 2020 after a decades long dispute over who actually owned the building. But they are back or at least the former employees of this Trini restaurant are. I did not like the food, I ordered a soup only potatoes in the soup after I specifically told the girl that I want provisions in it and meat,ordered jerk chicken rice and peas and pumpkin the pumpkin was very sour and the jerk chicken was dry! Love the rice and peas, love all the sides: callaloo, spinach, red beans, sweet plantains (although some can be a bit salty!). Oxtail was delicious with an amazing gravy (but a bit pricey). Curry chicken and stew chicken were both good, too, but I think could be a tad more flavorful. I'm planning on trying the jerk chicken next! The store is super bright and new. Service is pretty fast--the first time, the staff were super friendly, the next time the guy at the front was much less friendly. Lots of good options for doubles in my neighborhood, but Gee's is my go-too. Quick service and delicious every single time. Menu highlights are the regular doubles, boneless chicken doubles, and goat aloo pie. Make sure you get it with both tamarind and pepper sauce if you like some heat. So, I ordered off of uber eats & when i tell you bad? bad. I got my food around 7ish yesterday & idk if they cooks were lazy but no. My jerk chicken was BURNT like I couldn't even bite into it. The jerk chicken is horribly spicy & i like a little spice lol not too much. I had a drum & a thigh & wasn't able to eat nothing but the rice & macaroni. Stopped by Gee's during my vacation and cannot wait to get it again when I'm back in town. The service was great from when I ordered my food and even after my meal. The music was definitely a vibe as well. Not to mention, they provide complimentary mimosa while you wait, which was bomb! I believe they put pineapples and strawberries in it as well. I used to go to Gloria's all the time when I lived in Brooklyn. It was the only restaurant I'd ever really eat curry from. The other day, we drove 1.5 hrs to go to Gee's because we "heard" it was the same owners or employees. My husband picked up the food so I didn't go inside. However, today, after another 1.5 hr drive, I went in myself and it was the same manager that I knew as a child (he knew my dad)!! He truly is pleasant to deal with and on top of that, the curry is still the best! Now instead of what was Gloria's, he's making a name for himself and still has a loyal customer that followed him. If you missed Gloria's, which unfortunately closed in 2020 amid a legal battle, we can all rejoice that the original staff, led by a former manager or Gloria's is back in action at a nearby location thanks to financial backing from an investor. That investor sure have good taste.
