The bouncers here are incredibly rude and condescending. At 1:50 AM, when the bar was closing, they started forcing people out in a very aggressive way, shining bright flashlights directly into people's eyes, yelling "Walk and talk!" repeatedly, and having large security guards push crowds toward the exit. With so many people trying to leave at once, it felt chaotic and unnecessary. What made it worse is that once you're outside, they don't even want you standing on the sidewalk in front of the bar. I was simply waiting for my ride, which is the safest way to get home, and they were still trying to move people along. The service was terrible from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. I've never felt so unwelcome at a venue. I'd recommend avoiding this place and spending your money somewhere that treats customers with basic respect. read more

Came to the Marina for a country-theme bar and they require a cash cover because my friend wanted to ride a mechanical bull. Unfortunately, the bull was out of commission. Place is really big though with two floors (upper floor has your typical 40s pop / throwback music and lower floor is more hip hop). The bar is your standard dive bar. read more

I first came to Westwood bar for a yelp event but properly visited it for the first time with friends during their SF cereal pop up bar event. For the event we had to get tickets in advance and show them at the entrance upon which we would get a raffle ticket which we could then take to the very back of the bar where the entrance was and use to get a complementary drinks which came with our prepaid ticket fee. The back entrance leads to a two story separate bar area which was dimly lit and had tons of cereal themed posters and drink choices to choose from. All of the drinks were delicious and reminiscent of childhood cereal flavors but the two that I decided to get were the coco pebbles chocolate cocktail and the fruity pebbles spritzer. Out of the two I liked the coco pebbles drink more since it reminded me of bailies and was very tasty. My bf also decided to get the cinnamon crunch slushy drink and my goodness was this drink tasty. It was actually my favorite one of the night and was sweet and creamy and barely tasted like alcohol, definitely being less strong than the coco pebbles drink. Overall, it was a very fun vibe and the drinks were very unique and cute! I would definitely come back to check out another one of their themed pop up bars again. read more

Big screen T.V's! Big bar! Big bull to ride! BIG FLAVOR! I came here on 11/24/25 to an invite-only event for Barefoot Wines, but Westwood provided the food. The event, Wine & Wings, wouldn't have been much without the chicken wings to say the least. And, whoever is back there frying the chicken, THANK YOU! It was fried hard, but still juicy and flavorful. I enjoyed: lemon pepper (soo good), buffalo, sticky mango, and there was one other flavor...but I forgot. All of them were flavorful, but lemon pepper stole my heart. I also snatched a taste of their fried cheese sticks and fries. There's not much to say about it-it's fries! The bathroom was extremely clean-which is huge for me.And ALL the bartenders were super friendly. Parking- GEEEKKKK! I had to circle the block twice and ended up parking 2 blocks away. I guess that's the typical parking situation in the City so, yeah. Before leaving, I briefly chatted with the owners (a man and a woman) who was also very customer-focused and friendly. I think this place needs to add more ventilation inside since we came in a little later in the night, right when we walked in it was super musty inside. This is a fun western theme bar complete with a mechanical bull, and line dancing. We came on a Friday and by 11 pm they had switched the music to more hip hop / pop music. Parking in this area is atrocious and the closest lot we found was closed by 11 pm so we had to find street parking. It is probably better to just uber or waymo here. There is a large downstairs area that also plays music as well. We had a large group and had gotten bottle service so we were upstairs in the main part. They gave us wristbands so we were able to have in n out privileges and were able to ride the bull for free! Otherwise the bull is $5 cash. There is a shuffleboard, large jenga, pool, and lots of other games for people to play. The crowd is alot younger here, mostly everyone was 21- 25. I didn't get the chance to try any of there food but it did look really good ! There is a taqueria across the street and tons of dirty dog vendors outside at night if your hungry. read more

This was my second time at Westwood and both times, the service has been consistently great. The staff genuinely cares about customer experience, which I appreciate. I love the décor, the fun signage, line dancing, pool tables, and games; it's a lively spot! That said, the crowd leans younger (mostly 20s), so while I'm in my 40s and felt a little out of place, it was still a fun atmosphere. I returned for Sabrina Carpenter's Pink Pop-Up Bar in the basement of Westwood, but overall, it fell short of expectations. The music was low-energy, which made the vibe feel slow. Our $20 ticket included a drink, which was fine but nothing special. The biggest issue was the lack of tables--despite making a reservation for five, we stood around in heels for 30 minutes before finally finding a spot. To make matters worse, we had a 7:30 PM reservation but weren't let in until 8 PM, standing outside in the cold for half an hour. While the decor had some cute photo ops, I expected more from a pop-up experience. It would have been nice if reservations guaranteed seating or if they had a photographer for guests since the pop-up was meant for photo moments. Overall, I love Westwood's main bar, but I wouldn't recommend the Pink Pop-Up Bar unless they improve the experience--better music, guaranteed seating with reservations, and a smoother entry process. read more

I was shocked by how strong and tasty the margarita was - they have a bunch of flavors but my favorite were the blood orange and strawberry. What a fun lil spot in SF. We came here for a work happy hour welcome event and it was really cool to come in and be with a group that hasn't seen each other in quite some time. They had a mechanical bull that some of us got to ride during the event and it was such an experience. Definitely the star of the show! The food was served buffet style in the back near this area and was enough to feed the lot of us. It was substantial and pretty tasty. Music was a bit too loud. At first it was confined to the back area so some of me and my colleagues moved to the front around the booths to catch up and chat but they turned on the speaker there and it became way too loud across the whole bar. This was probably my only gripe with the place but other than that, it was such a cool spot for a big and energetic group. read more

I attended Westwood for a work party recently, and overall I'll say this is a really fun, western themed bar. If you're looking for a casual spot to hang out with friends, complete with friendly bartenders, decent food, and quirky ambiance, this is a great spot for you. The highlight was the mechanical bull in the back, and while I wasn't drinking at this party, my friends seemed to really enjoy the craft cocktails, and I liked that they had a good amount of NA options available at the bar. My only critique (and it could just be that I'm getting old!) was that the volume of this bar is LOUD. I had a hard time speaking to folks, and it gave me the impression that usually this place is probably catering more to a young party-going crowd that's more about late night dancing, rather than sip on your cocktail and chat. Visited Westwood for a company offsite and booked the entire main bar. For those that don't know, Westwood has a main bar as well as a hidden, speakeasy style room downstairs in the back for special/private events. Private event consisted of drinks and buffet style food. Couple bartenders working the event. Drinks were tasty and strong. At its peak, though, wait times for a drink could be 20+ min. I believe there were only 2 bartenders working for an event of about 100-ish people. Staff was friendly though and definitely kept the grind going. Food consisted primarily or heavy, bar style food. Pulled chicken, steak and guac, shrimp cocktail, truffle fries, taco bowl, sloppy joe sliders, brussel sprouts. We were also able to add cajun coconut curry, delivered from Wilder, and remove the bacon from the brussel sprout for two vegan options. When it comes to dietary restrictions, menu is not tailored for vegans so just something to note if booking for a group. Food was decent and was replenished throughout the event. Mechanical bull and pool were made available. Both were a huge hit, especially the bull. Definitely a very unique and fun addition to an offsite. Westwood has a large space and can quite comfortably fit over 100+ people inside. read more

What a fun setup! We attended a work offsite event during our conference in San Francisco at Westwood, and it was a great kickoff to the week. The space itself is well-decorated, with multiple photo op spots: neon lights, photo booth, fun signage, etc. They had a nice good-looking lineup of cocktails, but I stuck to beer and wine offered during our event. The food was good and filling but nothing extraordinary - I would have loved to see things in heated trays to keep things warm and ready to serve! I recently checked out Sabrina Carpenter's all-pink pop-up bar in Westwood, and it was a vibe! The event is downstairs, so you have to walk down a flight of stairs to get there. Once you're in, it's a total transformation from the western-themed bar upstairs--super cute and Instagram-worthy. That said, while the idea was fun, I felt like the execution could've been better. You have to buy tickets and reserve a spot ahead of time, which is fine, but the space is pretty small with only a few tables. It seemed like the time slots overlapped because a bunch of people from the earlier group were still hanging out when we got there. We ended up standing around for like 30 minutes waiting for a table. Once we were seated, though, it was a good time! The drinks were solid, and we grabbed some apps for the table--calamari and fries--which hit the spot. The bartenders were super nice too, which made the whole thing feel more fun. read more

This is my first pop up bar to ever attend! It was for the Crushed Heartbreaker Bar. Included with the ticket is a complimentary cocktail drink. Tickets can be purchased through sfbucklist. I saw it advertised through instagram. I'm so glad I got to experience it with my best friend, and celebrate a galentine's out in the city. Located in a speakeasy in Westwood SF, there were tons of Olivia Rodrigo heartbreaker themed decor and fun heartbreakeresque cocktails and drinks. We were super hungry so we were glad they had a dinner menu. My order: * Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich 5/5 - the best chicken sandwich I've had!! The chicken so flavorful, juicy and tender. * Truffle Parmesan French Fries 5/5 - also the best truffle fries I've had. Wasn't super oily and didn't have the strong aroma of truffle like other truffle fries I've had elsewhere. The fries weren't soggy or too crunchy either. * Espresso Martini 5/5 - I do not drink coffee, however I needed a bit of caffeine in me, it really hit the spot! * Espresso Martini shots 5/5 - tasted exactly the same as the espresso martini Service was fast once we ordered, maybe like 10 min for our food to arrive. The napkin getting torched on my drink was such a fun thing to see! Really follows through with the theme. Fun bar- you'll find mostly 20s and some early 30s crowd here on the weekend nights. Buy a bit of a wider group during the day, especially when sports are being shown. Westwood will play the PPV mma and boxing matches and not even charge a cover until the final fight, with specials dependent on outcomes of matches. Pretty fun. Drinks are priced as you'd expect for a popular large bar in a popular area to go out. But specials and pitcher deals, especially during the day, and pretty good. The food is surprisingly solid. This review is only for their Christmas pop-up "Naughty not Nice" bar located downstairs from the main bar. Tickets are required via sfbucketlist but include entry and 1 complimentary drink. Honestly, we walked past this bar because at first glance, there was no Christmas decor, and they were hosting a trivia night. Luckily, an Asian dude saw me and the bf looking confused and directed us to the holiday bar. TBH, Westwood's main bar is probably not somewhere we would go on a regular (me being Filipina and my bf being Black), as we walked in, I can feel that blue lives matter vibe (IYKYK). BUT as soon as we crossed the main bar and walked downstairs, THAT'S where the diversity was hiding! It was like you teleported to an entirely different place, entering and exiting. The decor was hilarious and entertaining to look at. There were so many TVs and they're all playing the same Christmas movie which gave another stimulation. The menu is extensive with cocktails, mocktails, and hella food. One thing about holiday bars is how creative the names get. Being this was a naughty holiday bar, the names cracked me up (see menu photos)! Everyone on the staff (bartenders and barbacks) were all friendly and attentive. Unlike other holiday bars in SF, this place was not overly crowded, and there were plenty of places to sit (granted, we did come on a Tuesday night, the week before Christmas). Drinks are served in cute holiday cups and are cheaper than other holiday bars! That was the kicker for me. Love love this place! We visited for the Halloween pop up they hosted a few weeks ago and I have mixed feelings. The person at the front checking us in seemed like she wasn't associated with the event or venue at all, but I'm sure she was? She just wasn't super helpful or welcoming especially since my fiancé was confused about the way the event worked. (It was a surprise to me so I also had no idea) A bartender overheard our conversation and cleared things up for us right away and got our drinks started. We tried 4 different drinks during our visit and they were tasty, but they were all super sweet. Nothing I'd want to order on a regular day out. I loved the decor they had around the bar and they were playing IT on the big screens which was fun. It was a great place to people watch from upstairs, where the floor was also so incredibly sticky. That didn't seem to be the case downstairs and it was a bit of a turn off. We ordered corn dogs to share and, as one of my favorite appetizers, I was disappointed that the breading was soft and not crispy. The vibes were definitely good, considering a bar crawl was getting started. Maybe we were there early enough and it got louder and rowdier later, but if it did we fortunately missed it. read more

We almost missed the place as there's no sign of the bar event outside. Luckily the staff saw us and brought us in. The decor was funny with Taylor swift songs and some lame stuffs, not impressive at all, but the drinks were great and the bar tender was friendly. Decided to stop by here for their Frankenstein's Mad Scientist Cocktail Lab pop up and was thoroughly impressed! The bar had a nice spooky atmosphere with the Frankenstein props and the scientist bartenders. We got a lychee and Ube drink which came out in a really nice Halloween themed presentation. The lychee drink tasted just like your average lychee martini but the Ube drink was really delicious and probably one of my favorite Ube cocktails ever! Definitely recommend going at night though, as it was pretty bright inside when we went during the day. read more

I'm not a huge bar person, but came to Westwood for a happy hour. Upon arriving, I walked in and the bar reminded me of a bar that I would have visited when I was in college. They had different pockets of seating like bench seating, tables, and a section of games like large Jenga. The bar was large and long, so plenty of seats and standing room. They did have a mechanical bull, so if that's your jam, it's available. The interior looks older. It was pretty loud in there, and had an awful time hearing other people that were next to me. The star is also because this is one of the only bars that I've been to in the city with a cover that simply isn't worth it. I have no doubt that they make plenty of money off drinks alone in a night where the cover simply is not necessary. Not to mention the mechanical bull that gets no breaks from the young girls trying to get their 1 minute of fame, that you also have to pay for. Don't get me wrong this is a fun place to go at night when you want to drink too much but yet you always wake up questioning if the $10 cover fee was truly worth it.
