The service was very quick, but they told me about a plate underneath that was missing a couple of bolts and said not to worry about it, the plate wasn't essential and would probably fall off. I took them for their word and the next day my wife took it on the highway and the plate got caught by the wind and started to tear off and creating sparks that scared my wife enough to pull over. Thank God that a nice gentleman pulled over to help her and removed the mangled plate. While this is not the fault of the shop, they should have known better than to leave it like that. Either remove it or at least put the remaining bolts on the front to avoid the wind catching it. I should have asked for more information but the mechanic was pretty casual about it so I trusted that it would be ok. read more

I took my F-150 back to Gege's for a routine oil change. I had used their service every oil change since owning the truck. The young service person came out of the pit to inform me that my oil pan and plug were stripped, and they would have to replace them to facilitate an oil change. Being a home brew mechanic who has actually been building engines from scratch in my shop for over 40 years, I questioned him how the plug and pan could have become stripped. I ask to see the plug. He informed me he couldn't show it to me because he didn't take it out saying he could tell that it was stripped. I ask him if he thought he was talking to a Moron. I also informed him that if he checked his company records, he would find Gege's had changed my oil for the past five years and if my plug and/or pan were stripped it was a worker at Gege's who stripped it. The manager was called and refused to have my oil changed unless I bought a new oil pan and plug. I drove out of there and immediately went to another oil change facility. They changed my oil with no problems. After their service I ask if they found my oil pan or plug stripped. They answered that both were in great shape. Needless to say I will never enter the premises of Gege's again and wish to warn others of their shady practices and real lack of mechanical knowledge. Don't trust anything they tell you !!! I've been to Gege's twice now. The first time, it was just for an oil change. They found that my water pump was busted and right away gave me a solid quote to replace it. Saved me a world of trouble. Second time, pointed out any issues I might need to address in the medium/long term future and had me in and out in under ten minutes. All really nice guys, who communicate well and work safe and fast. Nothing is terribly expensive and their customer service is as good as it gets. Not to mention, I love supporting local businesses and they do they job as well or better than I would have ever expected. read more

I am from out of town and while I was home for Memorial Day was unable to get my oil changed. Looked up online places near my work and decided to stop in here. The service technicians were awesome. Jonathon was my oil tech and he was very efficient. Elvis was (I assume the service manager) and he took the time to explain what was needed other than an oil change. He explained it where a lay person could understand it which made it easy. He even told me that before I leave to stop in and they'd check my tires, etc. And the owner Gege was very friendly as well. I would HIGHLY recommend these folks. And I'm like someone else who posted on here, that I love to support local businesses. I will definitely go back before I leave the area. Thank you! Expensive...charged me 131.00 for an oil change. $13.00 of that was for a 10 cent bolt plug for my oil pan (They claimed the old one was rounded). When I asked them how much to plug was they told me around 6 or 7 dollars, which I though was high enough, but someone should be in jail for charging $13.00. The labor for my oil change was 55.95, that is outrageous for a 10 minute oil change. I would advise folks to steer clear of this place, unless you like giving away money. read more

Word of advice, save your money and do not go here EVER. First off, the techs are very rude, owner seems quite nice, but has no integrity to tell you the truth or admit mistakes. About 6 months ago, my wife took her car there to get oil change (4th time ever), the tech tells her that she may need a new oil pan because the threading for the drain plug seems to be stripped and they even recommended a shop to take it to. We did notice leaking in our driveway and 2 weeks down, her car is almost completely out of oil, so we buy a new pan and take it to a friend's shop to get it replaced. Her car is about 8 years old, so we didn't think nothing of it. Just 2 months ago, I take my car there myself (3rd time ever) and as they were working on my car, we hear a loud thump and the whole car shakes with me, my wife, and son in it. After the service, they give us a receipt and tell us we will need a new gasket and something else on the next service. We brush it off again and go home and then days later notice that my side of the driveway has oil stains as well. Another week goes by and my dash throws an alert for low oil pressure warning, I check the oil and it is almost completely gone. I buy some oil to refill and wait out til the weekend to take it back to GeGe's. I told them about the leaking and the owner tells me his techs will look at it to see what's wrong. They do the service and tell me I won't need a new gasket or anything else and that everything looks fine and gave me some BS about the leaking. I go home and monitor my car and sure enough, still leaking. My car is ONLY 2 years old..."this is no longer a coincidence". I call my friend and he tells me it may be the same problem, but recommended I not ever go back to GeGe's. 2 cars they ruined because of their incompetence. Also, on this last visit when I pulled into the bay door and was awaiting service, the tech comes and ask me if I knew that my car takes synthetic only, I tell him, "Yes, I am aware." He walks off and mumbles in a clear voice, "I'm just asking, is it so wrong to ask. BLEEP_BLEEP!" He probably didn't notice my passenger window was open as well. A few mos.ago. Was told by Gege's that my pan and vave cover was leaking. (I park in garage, and never saw so much as a drop on the floor.But to be safe I took it to Goodyear just down the street .Where they found it was leaking oil which was dripping into the alternator and caused it to malfunction.. Had it repaired for several hundred. A few mos later: Back to Geges for oil change. Told the same. Pan & gasket leaking. Told them I was taking it back to Goodyear. Was asked to wait while someone re checks it. After a while he comes back with. It is leaking.May have tightened something during this wait. But don't know. I've used them 4 or 5 times and have always been pleased. I usually stop for oil changes without an appt. and even when they are busy i've never had to wait to get in and once they start, never more than 20 minutes. The multiple service bays help assure that service is prompt and efficient. They are friendly, thorough and knowlegable and always do a quick inspection for additional mechanical issues then inform and advise. I won't go anywhere else. read more

She wasn't the most pleasant sounding lady when delivering this policy either. I have had last two oil changes only at this place since I moved to Winder. Last one on Wednesday before Thanksgiving, they said that someone else had ran the screw to oil pan. I told them that they were the ones who did last oil change. They told me it couldn't have been because they would have noticed and made a note of it, well they went ahead and replaced it and did oil change. I went home, later on I noticed the oil had leaked on the drive way, they were closed that Thursday. I got under my car to look where exactly it was leaking from and had to tighten screw myself. I went back Friday. I told them what happened and The woman there ASSURED ME it wasn't their fault and wouldn't listen to me, I said "how do you explain the oil leaking after your guys did oil change?" and she walked away and didn't answer me. Had my oil changed here a couple weeks ago & the check engine light came on immediately after.. I wasn't able to take it back in until the following weekend, but it drove terribly until I could get it back in to ANOTHER shop.. The guys at the other shop couldn't believe what was causing the problem - the folks at GeGes didn't put the oil cap back on all the way! I had to pay $130 for that lesson, GeGes should reimburse me for this bill! read more

I would strongly encourage you to think twice about getting your oil changed at GeGe's Express Lube. After a visit, my steering went haywire. Evidently, the guy doing the oil change had topped of my power steering fluid. GeGe's denied anything was done, but the problem started immediately after my visit. Based on some of the other issues I have read about my problem is not unique. Unless you like playing Russian Roulette with your fluids, I would go elsewhere. read more

I never write a poor review until I have first contacted the company to see how my problem is handled. I have been taking both my vehicles to them for several years. Now they lied about a problem, overcharged me several times, did not honor advertised senior discount or Ladies Day discount and when I contacted them, they never responded at all. The people here are always so rude. This is a very busy street corner close to downtown Winder. Don't reward their rudeness and false claims by giving them your business. Let's help some other deserving small business get this prime piece of real estate. There are plenty of other small businesses in town that do a great job. Joey Watkins is the first one that comes to mind. Last time I actually considered giving them my business, I sat there and stared at their 10 minute oil change sign for 20 minutes while sitting in line in the parking lot and nary a car moved the whole time I was there. When a young attractive woman drove up and began speaking to the staff in the shop, everybody stopped what they were doing and made a beeline for her. She was coming back to discuss some unfinished business that required her to leave and come back, but it looked to me like they were just shooting the breeze with a shop full of cars and people in the parking lot because they wanted to flirt with this girl. Last time I went there I was inquiring about buying a used oil barrel for a hobby project, and the woman there shook her head and started mumbling while she ducked behind and employees only area as if she couldn't care less about my existence once she knew I wasn't there to buy an oil change. These people are always so rude and all their signs and claims about fast oil changes are just lies to get you in the parking lot. read more
