    Mayan mocha
    Lorelei H.

Pretty solid cafe. I got the Mayan mocha for here. Ended up being around 7.50. I thought the drink was good. The ganache on the bottom was very tasty and the spices they used were unique and a little spicy. The staff were sweet, and I got my drink very quickly too. I came to work, but they don't have Wi-Fi and all the outlets are covered, which definitely make it harder to get things done. They also didn't have a self serve place to get water, which I like to see in a cafe. I'm not sure if it was worth the price overall, and if I'm looking for a cafe to work, I wouldn't come back here.

Decided to treat myself to another cup of coffee while I was in the area. There's not many coffee shop roasters around me, so I was really excited to try Kean Coffee. Parking: Free parking lot. They're located in a busy plaza, so finding a parking spot can be a hit or miss. Ambiance/Environment: They have a small space with a decent amount of indoor and outdoor seating. I visited on a Sunday afternoon, and it was very busy. All indoor and outdoor tables were filled. Great spot to get some work done or a simple coffee date. Service: The cashier at the register was nice. Throughput was quick & efficient after ordering. They also sell their own coffee beans. There's a great selection of pastries and parfaits for a quick breakfast. Drinks: I love their story of sourcing and roasting their own beans. They offer a great range of coffee. I'm a latte girly, so I decided to try the Caffe Napoli Latte. This had hazelnut and white chocolate. It was definitely on the sweeter end, but wow this tasted amazing! Even though it was sweet, the espresso still came through. Pricing: They have four different sizes - 8 oz, 12 oz, 16 oz, and 20 oz. Prices are as expected. I'd definitely visit again when I'm in the area!

Super easy to read menus with plenty of options

I have been a huge fan of this place since it was rebirthed from Dietrich's coffee. I was sad to see the former place go, was super excited to see that it had not died completely. This is one of those if you know you know places. With so much corporate coffee out there, it's nice to find a place that really takes pride in small batch coffee. Parking can be slightly challenging, as this is a very busy strip mall. But if you're lucky you can get a parking spot right out front. Inside is warm and inviting, great friendly staff, who know their stuff and are willing to make suggestions. Plenty of seating options both inside and out, and on Spring and summer days the outside is definitely happening. To be honest, I have never had anything bad here. I always like to try the different baked goods and everything has been on point. Their coffee drinks are second to none, and I just can't say enough good things about this. I think if I was to open a coffee shop it would be just like this. You can't beat the people, the prices are reasonable, and the service is top notch. Bottom line? If you are in the Southern California area, Newport Beach, Costa Mesa, or Balboa, this is your go-to place.

Super easy parking, kind customer service and short wait time for my drink. Lots of seating inside and outside. The coffee itself was very bold and personally for me I like it a little less bold. Don't get me wrong it was good but a little too bold/earthy for me.

I haven't been to Kéan in years. This has always been one of my favorite coffee shops, mainly because they have Diedrich's coffee! You can smell the beans roasting when you walk through the doors. They have lots of tables, chairs and umbrellas outside, as well as great seating inside - including the couch! The staff are always so kind and helpful too. I noticed their menu has changed a lot, but many things have remained the same. I'm so happy they still sell Shirley's bagels...so good!

We ordered iced caffe mocha -white chocolate and caffe latte. They were both ok but I think they use different kind of sweeteners that makes the taste little different. The location was great but there was not many available seating area since it was pretty packed. The service was pretty fast. I think I should have try their signature drinks rather then common coffee options :)

Kean Coffee is honestly phenomenal, probably one of the best coffee shops I've ever been to. The space itself is ridiculously vibey and cozy, the kind of place you actually want to hang out in for hours. I usually judge a coffee shop by their cold brew, since that's the real test. Let me tell you, a lot of places make cold brew that tastes like someone rinsed their feet in it. But Kean's? Absolutely incredible. Smooth, bold, and full of flavor without being bitter. I ordered a large, and it was so good I couldn't stop myself from drinking almost the whole thing in one go. Sure, I got some serious jitters afterward, but it was worth every sip. This place sets the standard for what coffee should be... quality drinks, great atmosphere, and an experience that makes you want to come back!!

Cane here on Saturday morning and this place was pretty packed. There were plenty of seating and orders came out fast still. I got an iced latte and it was great. I even got some beans to take home.

I love the flavor of their coffee drinks and drop by here when I'm in the area. I absolutely love their blended ice cream coffee drinks, they really are a treat. As I sit outside and enjoy the weather I feel relaxed with my yummy coffee drink in hand. They can put the drink in a mug as an option for those staying a while, which I notice not a lot of coffee and tea shops have. Sometimes I just want the good ole' coffee shop experience sipping from a mug. This place has that experience I am looking for.

Kean just might be my favorite coffee shop I've been to in Orange County. Admittedly all I've ever gotten is the Cafe Mocha but it's amazing. Made with dark chocolate ganache, it's the best mocha I've ever had. I also really appreciate a gluten free banana bread (amongst other gluten free options) They also roast their own beans! Amazing place, can't recommend enough

This place never disappoints! I love the iced almond joy. Been loving this drink for 10+ years. Not overly coconut-y and just enough to give you the impression you are biting in to a an almond joy! Picked up a blueberry bagel for the road and I'm off to start my day!

The staff was kind and quickly cleaned it for us, and our food came out a little over 10 minutes later. We ordered the JH Breakfast Burrito and Skirt Steak. The burrito was solid and packed with filling, and I especially liked the sauces that came with it. The Skirt Steak was pretty good too, although it wasn't particularly memorable for me. The fries were a highlight though. They were perfectly salted and crispy. Overall, I enjoyed our experience and everything we had was good. It does seem like this place can get pretty packed, and while I'd happily come back with a reasonable wait, I'm not sure the food stood out enough for me to wait a long time during busier hours.

Despite being relatively close to two major colleges - OCC and UCI - this place wasn't as crowded as you'd imagine it would be. They serve coffee, matcha, breakfast foods like breakfast burritos, protein bowls, avocado toasts - but I didn't pick anything to eat since I already had lunch. I shared with the barista that it was my first time here, and he asked what type of drink I was looking for. I told him something iced and caffeinated - and he mentioned his favorite was the Honey Cinnamon Latte - which I opted for - iced, with oat milk. Total was $8.50 including tip. My iced Honey Cinnamon Latte was yummy, creamy, and fantastic! With the oat milk substitute, it sorta tasted like Cinnamon Toast Crunch in liquid coffee form. It wasn't overly sweet, definitely had a nice kick to it - love this recommendation by the barista! I checked out the rest of the space and used their restroom to wash my hands - it's really a neat space here. Lots of seating. Lots of space. There's an adjacent room that's connected to the cafe called "Flow Space" - which is utilized for small popups and arts & crafts. Neat spot for smaller community members to showcase their wares. Some of the other reviews mentioned no a/c - which had me worried considering we were having a bit of a heatwave lately - but to my pleasant surprise, A/C was on and cold! I'm curious to try their matcha the next time I'm here, as well as possibly their breakfast burritos, since photos for that looks delicious.

Long overdue review! Love this coffee shop so much. I work a few blocks up and like to pop in when…read moreI need to lock in and get some work done with a little caffein. I can usually find a plug and also like the backyard outdoor seating when meeting up with friends. My go to order is a good ole classic latte and their breakfast burrito. The shop is very community oriented and they have lot of fun events and feature local artists often. I respect the hell out of the ownership too. From what I've observed they put their money where their mouth is when it comes to giving back to the community and caring for their neighbors. I love their sunset beach location too and wish I lived/worked closer to it to make it my regular spot. Less suitable for computer work but the perfect space for a quick coffee, date or friend meet up. Prime location for a walk to the beach after!

This year specifically, I've noticed a couple of things that have made my experience go severely downhill. I've visited about five times, expecting to grab my favorite toast of theirs that I've had for years (Pan Con Tomate) and they have been out consistently back to back of that item. I've literally tried 3 separate times and been told they simply ran out of tomatoes. If it's that inconsistent, I'd hope they'd take it off their menu and post it as a special. But what bothers me the most is that the service is so nonchalant that it comes off as rude. No greeting, smile, positive energy.. giving off a vibe that they'd rather be anywhere else than behind the coffee bar. Sad to see the experience decline as it's been a favorite of mine and somewhere i always have hyped up to friends. Hopefully things pick up.

I popped into this coffee shop for the first time on a weekday and was not disappointed. I was a…read morelittle confused at first because it's located in a business park /warehouse-type of area so the signage in the front definitely helps. There is plenty of parking and lots of space inside. The interior is bright and spacious with lots of tables for socializing and working. I ordered an iced latte which I thought was pretty tasty and a pancake muffin that was okay. The pancake muffin felt doughy and underbaked to me, however, I think it's suppose to feel that way texturally. It was okay taste-wise. My partner ordered a breakfast burrito which he thought was okay as well. The burrito by itself was meh, but the sauces that come with it helped elevate the flavors.

There are even private rooms but I didn't look too closely, so I'm not sure if they're for rent or on a first come first serve basis. Lots of parking spots are available directly in front of the store front and around back. Their spinach cheese croissant is really good and a large portion. There's A LOT of filling in the middle and on top of the croissant. The chai is average, you can't taste any of the spices.
