I found Gem Nails through yelp and based on the glowing reviews I made a 9am appointment for the following day (I went on a Thursday). I went early so there was plenty of parking and I was able to snatch a parking spot directly in front of the store. The salon is extremely clean, cute, and modern looking. The gentleman at the front desk was extremely friendly as well as the nail technician I had. Navy did my nails and I absolutely loved it! She was so detailed in prepping my nails as well as putting on the polish. I did a basic manicure and it lasted me almost two weeks! :) I would definitely recommend this place and will be going back in the future. read more

EASILY, The worst dip mani I've ever had. First off, this is not the color that was on the actual nail sample. I requested square cutt and this is clearly more round or a crap job at square. Lots of left over pink on my fingers afterward. Whatever she used on top for a clear coat to make it shiny was not evenly put on the nail and left the ledges looking matte and even worse the shiny coat chipped within days. I will never go back here. My first sign that this was a bad salon was the use of a manual file to remove the previous dip instead of an electric. All and all horrible job done. The woman did not seem to know what she was doing yet when I checked out I asked if they were new to doing dip and the girl stated no.... Left me extra annoyed with how my nails were done and literally wanted to go somewhere else immediately to get them redone, but thankfully my mother and fiancé talked me out of it and to tough it out. Really wonderful experience. I made a reservation for my sister's wedding for my sister [the bride], the bridesmaids [there were a total of 4 of us], and the two mothers for a total of 7 individuals. We were all able to attend at the same time and they had enough people working so that no one was ever waiting long for a service. Everyone was nice and very accommodating! The place upon arrival was very tidy and they had a table with a pink table cloth set up in case we brought drinks/food to celebrate. The pedicure chairs were a little old but worked perfectly. The actual service was great. I got a regular mani/pedi and they did a good job. The shape of my nail was actually perfect and looked amazing, and looked that way for a while! They did a great job with my cuticles [no cuts] and again the shape was really amazing. I cannot wait to go back to get them reshaped. My sister got a no chip but wanted a particular sparkle has her 'party nail.' The woman helping her did a really good and honest job of making it work. The gel polish was not working with the regular polish [that was sparkly] and she noticed it right away and worked very hard to make sure that it was perfect. She ended up taking off the no chip on that particular nail and then just painting it sparkles. Where they had the fans to dry your nails was right in the center and nicely hidden. They also gave you a massage when you sat down. It was a nice experience and I can honestly say I am looking forward to going back to visit. read more

Love this place! I'm bey lucky I came across this nail salon because they are absolutely wonderful. The owners, Young and Liz, have mastered the art of customer service. They are always welcoming and friendly and you can tell they truly care about their customers and providing them with an amazing experience. Every time I go I see how they have built relationships with their customers and that's what keeps me coming back. Amy is my go to person. She's funny and a total perfectionist when it comes to nails. Her pedicures are also really good and I always look forward to getting my nails done. If for any reason you're not satisfied with something I recommend you tell Young or Liz because they care about their customers and will fix whatever the issue is. Just make sure you tell them and give them a chance to do something about it. Definitely check this place out! 5 stars for sure :) read more

I got my nails done here before and it was a quick good experience. I've been back a few times. The last time I came was around the holidays and I tipped way over 20%. This time I had Jenny and she was rude, the whole time she was taking deep breaths and throwing my hand around. This time with my experience she would be happy I even tipped and a good one too. She embarrassed me a at check out that 15% if not enough and was insinuating that I should tip more. She rudely gave me my card back and told me next time I need to tip cash. The service didn't live up to the price. The technician cut my nails way too short after I told her I only wanted them filed down. Even more, she didn't give me the shape I asked for. I wasn't greeted when I walked in to the salon and was ignored for around for 10 minutes after asking if they had availability to do a gel set before a technician responded. I like getting my nails done but 99.9% of nail salons give me the creeps and as a result my guard is always up, especially when they start trimming pushed back cuticles (I've had bleeding nails several times before). Gem Nails is probably the best nail salon you could look for. It's incredibly clean, the polish bottles aren't all goopy and messed up, the staff speak very clearly, and everyone seems so nice! My nails look awesome!! I would gladly go back anytime and I will definitely tell friends about this place!! read more

This was my first time going here. I got a no chip and pedicure. What I really like about this place is their nail colors are displayed on a wall so I don't have to go through a color wheel. I finally have found a salon that does a great job and for a great price! I have been to several salons, all well rated, and have always had a bad experience or came out with unprofessional mani/pedis. At Gem Nails, I had a great overall experience and my nails look great! My nail tech was Sherry. She did my cuticles properly and took her time throughout. I highly reccomend this salon. All the nail techs were working on others while I was there and they all seemed very pleased; their nails looked great as well! Been here twice now. The service is fine and its pretty much just as expensive as anywhere else but I'm giving it only 2 stars because they don't do any form of fake nails; no acrylic or gel. This is the only nail salon I've been to where they don't offer that service and I was very disappointed. It's even listed with prices on the little "menu" that you can see at the salon. So I ended up getting a regular manicure which was fine, but she didn't use any form of cuticle softener on my nails so getting my cuticles cut was painful and she also went too close at times resulting in two of my fingers bleeding. read more

Gem believes in catering to a customer and keeping them safe (especially in this day and age). Sanitation is #1 on their list. Gem has an array of services; nicely priced. I went there recently and they seemed to have overbooked themselves My regular manicure was interrupted multiple times bc the phone kept ringing and people were coming in and out I felt like she rushed me out of there just to get the next person in. I really wanted to keep going to this place because the people are nice. But everytime I get a no-chip, it doesn't last the two weeks as promised, it'll even chip the next day! I kept coming because they would fix it. Even then, it's still a hassle for me, because I've got a baby at home. I can't just leave anytime to get it fixed. One time, the nail tech had completely forgotten to remove the calluses on my feet and just kept painting my nails. I didn't even notice it because I was so relaxed in the chair I might've dozed off. Yet, I came back. It took two sessions of abuse on my fingers with nippers that it drew blood for me to stop coming to this place. I had to tell myself that there are other nail places that could give me better service. Never again. read more

I love everything about this salon. The prices are reasonable, especially given the exceptional service. It is a very clean and friendly place with a great selection of nail polish colors. This used to be my favorite nail salon to go to but I definitely will not go back :/ The last no chip that I got here was from Moy I believe is her name (I could be wrong but she is younger with the very soft and quit voice and tiny body.) and she is always very rough. I always left with cuts on my nails whenever she did them and the last no chip she did for me was very poor. Her cell phone seemed to be way more important than her customer skills. About 2 weeks later I called the salon and asked if I can come in because I broke my nail. They told me sure and I asked if I could come in about 5-10 minutes which they said was okay. When I get there I see that they are extremely busy and I was standing around for about 15 minutes until I went up to someone and asked if I should come back another time and they said yeah because they were too busy. Which I completely understand because I called very last minute! But I literally left work to get my nail fixed before it got any worse. I would have been ok with them telling me they are too busy and to try and hold off until after work! They asked If I could come back later that day which I said I would call them to let them know but I ended up going somewhere else because I didn't wanna ruin my nail even more. About another 2 weeks after that I made another appointment for another no chip and when I went in as I was picking my color Grace asked if I can come back the next day because they were busy. Why did they schedule me for that specific time and day if they were too busy or didn't have enough employees? Grace is very sweet and everything but that was extremely upsetting! As you can see I used to go to Gem Nail literally probably once a week (for the last 2 years or so) for my no chips and I would get my underarms waxed all the time too. But ever since Liz and Yung left for whatever reason it was, the salon has went downhill. I really wish I could give this salon another chance but my last few experiences were not good at all. Very disappointed in Gem Nails' customer service. When I called for an appointment for mani/pedis for myself and my 10 year old daughter. I was told that the prices were $25 for kids mani/pedi and $60 for my no-chip mani/regular pedi for a total of $85. I decided that this was fine since it was a special treat for my daughter & myself. We got our services which my daughter enjoyed...mine however were a bit more painful as the tech nicked my toe (drawing blood) and burned me with an excessively hot towel. The tech felt very bad and was very apologetic, so I wasn't completely dissatisfied at that point. Fast forward to paying the bill..they charged me $40 for my daughters services. Apparently the "kids" price is only for children 9 and under and they would charge me $40 for my (apparently "adult") 10 year old's services. I argued that nobody explained that when I made our appointment and that I was not willing to pay that amount since I would not have gone there if I knew that ahead of time. They would not budge. I wound up paying it but had to stiff the two nail techs of their tips since I didn't have enough money to cover the bill and tips. They clearly do not value their customer relationships & would rather have an extremely embarrassed customer and an underpaid employee than work with me to come to a better solution. I love Gem Nails! The people that work here are wonderful. I usually get the no-chip. They never give me a hard time if I come back in to get a nail fixed. They genuinely care about their customers and it is evident in their work. I love the massages they provide the client after a nail service. I even appreciate the gifts I received the last two years during the holiday time. I always wear my pedicure socks in the winter. The nail colour offerings are current to the season and I never feel like I spend a lot of time finding the match in the non no-chip section. read more

Was here a few months ago for a manicure. Had a no chip and requested a simple design from pinterest on my thumbs. The manicurist couldn't do simple stripes and the design looked like a third grader painted it on...then she tried to pass it on as something I should walk out with. Then I noticed that the paper towel my hands were sitting on was covered in another color nail polish... aka it was dirty. I watch them pull the trimmers and cuticle cutters from the same tray they just did my nails from... which is dirty. Salons need to sanitize that stuff between uses... who knows what transmissible disease the last person had. Will not be going back here. read more

Hosted my sister's bridal shower here. The staff was amazing and so gracious in accommodating us even when we arrived later than planned. Young, Jenny and the entire staff just went with the flow. Humor abound with prompt excellent work on all of our toes, nails, waxes and even ear candling - who knew! The have the fanciest things too- hands-free polish shaker and plastic clamps to remove gel polish- no tacky aluminum foil here. Wish I had this Gem near my house. I came here because of the other positive Yelp reviews. The atmosphere is great here. Great decor, and very clean. The staff was so helpful. I brought my 5 year old and they were very accommodating. I got a regular mani pedi and they did a fantastic job. My 5 year old was also cry pleased! Very large selection of Opi and Essie colors. This is a great local business and will be my new nail salon. A mani pedi is $35. They also put paraffin on your heals. This place is definitely worth the money. read more
