Regrettably, I have been coming here for quite some time now simply because it is convenient. I would like to start with if you want to pay a premium for subpar repugnant and questionably edible food (and that's a compliment), and/or you're a glutton for punishment, then please continue to buy food from Gemini but if not, please allow me to elaborate on my struggles. Their pre made paninis, salads, and antipastos are dry, hardened, old, and off putting. They tried making a specialty brie sandwich about 2.5 weeks ago, and it has been sitting in their showcase since. At this point I am not sure if its made of edible food or plastic. You take a look at their antipasto's and its glaring that they should be thrown out because of age, not because they just don't taste good. For example, their tuna salad quite possibly can be misconstrued as cat food. Not saying this is what it is, but someone should look into this. The potato salad is glistening, again not sure if this is condensation or sweat but neither would surprise me after looking at the staff. Their macaroni salad is turning color, and not in the fashion of a tri color pasta. The coleslaw looks like, or may possibly be, cement. If you think you're going to ask for a freshly made sandwich, think again. You're going to receive weeks old roast beef and only one slice to boot. Just opened a new office across the street and everyone recommended Gemini. When I walked in, I was very excited as everything looked great. Honestly, the food just tasted blah. Everyone at the office talked it up, and I thought it was something I ordered. So we went back the next day. I tried one of their sandwiches and again just felt that it was unwhelming. I work in an office right by this deli. I have been there a couple times with a co-worker and both times have had our stomachs liquidated by the filth this place produces. Not sure if it is straight up bacteria on the grills/slicers, but I literally had Montezuma's Revenge x 3 after a simple sandwich at this place. Not to mention, it is overpriced. Gemini Deli is a fast food take out deli for the power-luncher, so expect to order, pay and leave the deli within 5-10 minutes. It has it's own private lot with about 20 parking spaces. The deli has 3-4 french doors that open up the whole frontside of the deli so that people can just walk anywhere. There are no tables to sit inside, so expect to pay for your food and take it back to the office/home. There are about 4-5 deli refridgerators for the standard assortment of drinks. There are three places to order from: make your own salad, sandwiches/paninis, and hot food. The place is a bit confusing as there are no prices listed on the walls nor are the food ingredients listed, so it's more or less, point to the food and ask the guy behind the counter what it is. There are premade wraps/sandwiches in plastic take-home containers, that have stickers with the types and price of the item. The hot food looked alright, not the most appetizing, so I decided to play it safe and order from the sandwiches/paninis/wraps. I asked the guy what was in one of the wraps behind the glass counter, and he had to take it out of the glass counter and look at it closely to tell me that it was a wrap with grilled chicken, greens, and cheddar cheese. I nodded, sure, and the guy put it in a plastic container and printed a barcode receipt with the price of the wrap ($6.95). I took it to the two cashiers and wound up paying $6.95 + tax = $7.55 for the wrap. When biting into the wrap, I later found out the wrap had grilled chicken, lettuce, tomato, bacon, red onions, and shredded cheddar cheese. It was slightly larger than the average size wrap with a generous portion of grilled chicken. All ingredients were fresh, though the grilled chicken tasted slightly charred. In all, the wrap was pretty delicious, but I did not like the fact that I did not know what ingredients were in the sandwiches/wraps/paninis. I also found the prices to be a little higher than many better delis in the neighborhood. I guess that's how they lure you into ordering there. I was later told by a coworker that you can get a small paper menu to order from, but I did not see that when walking around inside the deli. He also commented that the gorgonzola chicken wrap with walnuts was very delicious. Though I am extremely curious to try it out, I don't think I will be coming here due to the lack of convenience of knowing what I'm ordering, and the prices being slightly higher than I expected. read more

I go here purely for convenience from my office. The food is a little pricey considering it's not that great. But my biggest pet peeve is that they never heat the paninis all the way through! I always end up eating a half cold panini with unmelted cheese. They're in such a rush to get people in and out that it's a little unwelcoming. The portobello and mozzarella panini drizzled with balsamic vinaigrette dressing makes my mouth water!! Every time I try Gemini I am disapponted. I've worked in the area going in four years now, and the only time I've given them a shot is due to cinvenience, but they fail to impress me everytime. I interact with Gemini deli on a daily basis for years on one of their catering contracts for summer camps. I have never had a bad experience with the staff, Alex and his staff are always so wonderful with the kids I am in charge of and they are always happy to help me with anything I may need. I am a camp counselor in a group of children with special needs and they all love Alex and his staff. He always puts a smile on his face. And the food is good too, even if I thought I wouldn't like what was on the menu, I would wind up liking it because it was always prepared very well! read more

This place used to be good -- I just got back from there and things have changed. There aren't that many deli's on 110 in Melville, so the prices are high. Chicken on a roll , mayo, lettuce, tomato, $7.50. And that would be fine -- as long as the sandwich was good. It really wasn't. The place was busy and the service was fast, but if you are going to charge that amount of money for that, make the sandwich killer. Strike 1. When I go to pay, I don't even get a "Thank You" -- that pisses me off. I respond to the cashiers silence with " Oh.. you're welcome" and she says.. "Have a nice day", totally missing the point. Strike 2. Finally, the place doesn't appear clean. I'm 6'4" and I can see on the back counter and floor where the prep and work is being done. Yuk. Bottles and containers of everything are out, someones coffee cup is right next to where the jug of mayo sits. It's crowded and filled with chaos. And since I'm so tall, I could see the floor. Stopped in this morning on my way to the doctor. This deli had a lot to offer, and everything looked very fresh. I ordered a simple bacon, egg and cheese. What dos it take to turn a long term customer into a former customer? Sometimes, something small but irritating. I walked out of the deli today without my lunch. Why? They have a "build your own salad" option. You fill out a form, hand it to the person behind the counter, and they prepare your salad to order. It's supposed to be "first come, first served." But when they get busy... I waited patiently for my salad, until they decided to make the salad of someone who came into the deli a good five minutes after I did. Seriously the worst deli in this area. Food is overpriced, delivery is always late. Broth for the matzo soup is literally colored water and the matzo balls in my delivery were hard as rocks and gray inside. YUM. Paninis are decent, but if you get a made to order sandwich with a more common coldcut, don't expect it to be sliced fresh. We used to stop almost daily for breakfast. We would call in the order 15 minutes before and then swing by to pick it up. Inexplicably we started to have a problem - with our order never ready when we arrived. After one ridiculous wait (about 20 minutes), I complained and was assured it was a one-time mistake. Today, after a month long hiatus, we tried again and called in order 20 minutes before. They didn't even start our order until we arrived! I ordered online and choose delivery for a co-worker and myself. We included a tip in addition to the delivery fee that they charge. We are very close by but still pay a delivery fee because we could not leave the office to pick up the food. Delivery guy shows up and I sign and mark the total as exactly what it is on the receipt. I did this because gratuity was already included. The delivery person has the nerve to ask me for gratuity in a rather loud voice. I told him I put it on the card already when I ordered online. He said ok cool and asked to see my receipt and then read out loud how much gratuity I gave him. Again loudly. WTF? and what if I didnt want to tip him? ...Went there last week for lunch..Had a roast beef hero with salt,pepper and heavy mayo..Simple, right.?? Nope..It took the girl 4 questions to get my order correct. After almost 10 minutes it finally arrived. Then I waited another 5 minutes on another line to pay. What I received was a grayish,dry roast beef looking substance..And only 2 or three slices. I've given this place 5 tries, and today was my last. Food is bland at best. Every time I order from this place, it takes the short black haired woman behind the counter like 5 times to get it right. Let's go through today's ordering experience. I asked for something very simple. A chicken cutlet hero, American cheese with coleslaw on the hero. In turn she looks at me and says, "chicken cutlet, on what". To see if this was all in my head I said a second time... "A chicken cutlet hero, American cheese with coleslaw on the hero". She responds with chicken cutlet on a hero. Now for a third time I had to say "A chicken cutlet hero, American cheese with coleslaw on the hero". She now responds with "chicken cutlet on a hero, American cheese. This isn't rocket science. It's a sandwich. Your sole mission is to listen to what I say, and then put the ingredients together. There were only 4 ingredients!!! I should only have to say it 5 times (and I watched it happens to other customers too). I am very disappointed and you can see the look of dissatisfaction on other customers faces too. Go to Newstand Deli or Melville Deli, better service and better tasting food. read more

This is by far the best deli in the area. I can't give 5 stars, because everyplace has something they don't do perfectly. In the case of Gemini it is the delivery service (just plain awful). But everything else is great. The food is amazing, I recommend the eggplant it's as good as any on the island. Staff is friendly and helpful, the coffee is top notch and the deli itself is close to everything. If you work in the area like I do definitely give it a try you won't regret it. read more

I've had this deli deliver to my office multiple times and every single time it was a horrible experience! They always take 1.5 hours+, which I think is ridiculous even for a morning rush. I have to say that this is my least favorite deli on Long Island. My office routinely orders from here and for the life of me I can't understand why with all the other options in the area. The salads are probably the best thing you can get. The sandwiches are sub par, often times I'm unable to finish them. If you're getting it delivered, expect a cold and soggy meal. I just tried this place for lunch today. It's the first time I ever walked into this Deli. To start, it looked closed. There is nothing inviting about this place. I walk in, you have no idea where to order. I'm looking around for a menu, I don't see one. Nothing "looked" appetizing. There were no "yummy smells" to be found.
