Getting ready to head back to Maine and decided to skip the bagels and grab an NY egg sandwich. Located close to where we stayed we parked on the small side street next to, not knowing they had a full lot. Now they re located on a point of land so we ended up coming in through the back and leaving out the front where the parking lot was located. Lots of folks up and ready to eat at 7:30a on a Sunday. They have a lot of options here for breakfast and lunch. Hopped in line and ordered our sandwiches, I then had time to take pictures and check it all out. Seating available with tables for about 25 people. Coffee station with the staples plus many dairy free options available. Chips, dips, jerky, candy, snack cakes and multiple beverages. Sandwiches were up in no time. We grabbed our goodies and headed out. It blew my man's mind when he saw how big my sandwich was, I ordered extra bacon. Very good! Happy we decided to stop for this. I'm addicted to Melville Delis salads. (In addition to alot of their other stuff) I cant go very long without having to get a chicken Caesar salad from them. Today I ventured out of the box and bought the chicken cob salad! AMAZING! Now I'll be confused, but there are worse things. I can go anytime and they are fresh and beautiful. If not, they make them fresh. I've sworn off every other salad place and dedicate myself. You have to try one. Based on reviews went there for a ham & egg on a roll with mustardWhen you walk in you are overwhelmed by the breadth of choices. Many selections of premade sandwiches and salads. However, my order, to go, had no mustard. They quickly resolved that BUT with so much mustard it was barely edible and the roll was from yesterday. Not a crisp Kaiser roll at all. Hubby took me here to try some of their kebabs, so I ordered one for lunch. I had the chicken kebab on pita bread. They gave us quite a lot of chicken. Wow protein! Who needs protein shakes when you can have real protein? The kebab was big, so I ate half and took half home. The chicken was marinated with perfect seasoning. Many employees work at the counter because the place is busy during lunchtime. It's a big deli offering cold and hot fresh food. Typical NY deli with all the classics. Could of had more bagel options but it was 11am on a Saturday. Lox's we're good and not overly fishy like they sometimes can be. Sausage, egg, cheese was a good size and each was layered nicely so nothing not overpowering. Macaroni salad really hit the spot. Simple with just pasta and mayo it seemed. Ordered SEC and hash browns for pick up. When I got there the hash browns were not ready and with the sandwich. The server grabbed 2 old been out for a while hash browns and just heated them up. So I asked for fresh ones. They made them and left the SEC on the table while waiting for the fresh hash browns. So i had to ask them re heat the SEC. Very nice CS though. This deli does amazing platters. I mean really amazing platters. Paninis, wraps, salads, all are good. The sandwiches are unbelievable. They delivered two large platters of assorted sandwiches & paninis to my family's house here in Melville. I am picky about tuna salad & theirs is delicious. White meat tuna, not excessively heavy on the mayo and a bit of celery. The wrap was huge and packed well so it didn't fall apart when picking it up and biting into it. One wrap had chicken cutlets, cheese and lettuce & tomato. I only wanted the chicken and I love to dip so I used the Russian dressing they provided. My half of the wrap had two large pieces of moist lightly breaded chicken. I'm not sure if it was baked or fried but I loved it. I did the same thing with the roast beef. I didn't want the bread and the amount of roast beef that came off this wrap (1/2 wrap) was enough for two people! Along with the sandwiches were large bowls of coleslaw, potato and macaroni salad. The potato salad was my favorite, but they were all good. They provided us with serving spoons and plastic cutlery as well as all the condiments we would need. Mustard, mayo, Russian dressing and Italian dressing. They really thought of everything & I was impressed. Everyone loved everything and that says a lot. This is a tough review so my son wanted a really good egg sandwich for breakfast I took him to Melville Deli 4 eggs , mushrooms, spinach, onions, and avocado with hash brown on a roll so it's not a typical $2.95 on a roll but over $20 wow I could have gone across the street to the diner and got both of us breakfast even though my son the egg sandwich was in the top 5 of his all time list I think with having no meat on the sandwich $20 plus was way to much I would have estimated maybe $10.00 tops read more

The place is not impressive looking, but the food is good. The folks were all nice and helpful. Women greeted me with bouncy ears on. I ordered an Italian hero and it was loaded with meat, all of which were very fresh and tasty. The hero roll was also fresh and excellent. Guy who mode the hero was polIte AND got the sandwich right. I have been hitting Melville Deli for over ten years now. This place is Solid. The food is very good. Not gourmet, but solid every time. I prefer this deli over the Gemini Deli down the street. Though it's not as pretty looking the food is much better. The staff is very nice and helpful. My favorite sandwiches is the X Factor (Chicken cutlet, mozzarella cheese, bacon, coleslaw and Russian dressing on a toasted garlic hero) it's pretty amazing and unique. They have your standard egg sandwiches pretty good though def not the best on Li. My only complaint would be that they have a debit card limit though I think it's only $5. The prices are not insane, like many of the other deli/bagel places in the area. The food is always fresh and I really like their iced coffee. The Melville 110 area has loads of delis and sandwich shops. It's hard to choose which one to try from day to day. This deli has a very friendly staff that seems to have a loyal following. I ordered the X -factor which is a chicken cutlet sandwich with melted mozzerella, bacon, coleslaw and Russian dressing on a garlic bread hero. Food was served quickly and its double sealed so that it stays fresh and warm.. The sandwich is pretty large and filling, the taste was a little over powered by all the components. Next time would probably get the coleslaw on the side and do away with the Russian dressing. Overall I was happy with it and would certainly come back. This is a typical LI style deli, with a few perks. The owner and staff are extremely friendly, present, and helpful. They have lots of homemade choices on top of the typical deli sammies. Biggest boon to this place are the bagels. While they are not the best bagels on Long Island (Both Stuffin Bagels and 24 HR Bagel in O'side are), they are the best at any deli I have had, and better than every bagel shop in a 5 mile radius of my home near Islip. The more add-ons you get on your sammie, the higher the price. I know that is a pretty intuitive thing to do, but sometimes the price goes up and not in proportion with what I am eating. That is the one complaint I would have. Get a bagel here if you are in the area. read more
