We went fairly late at almost 9 pm and we were seated in about 10 minutes. My friend and I always order a couple plates of the Honey Soy beef belly since it's thinly sliced and cooks fast. Dip it in the green sea salt or the other oil and soy sauce. The calamari steak is a great choice too since that's a fast cook and easy to cut up. First time trying the cheesy corn and kimchi fried rice. Unfortunately no salad on this visit but I always enjoy the banchan (side dishes) like the potato salad and cucumber kimchi. Korean bbq never disappoints and a great place to visit if you want a late night spot to eat at on Maui with friends.

    Bulgogi etc.

My family and I had a 3-Star experience at Gen Korean BBQ. Our waiter was friendly, and the food portions were generous. There were a few issues, though. My father-in-law found a small metal wire in his food, which was concerning. We were also told the air conditioning wasn't working properly because it was clogged with grease, so the restaurant was a bit uncomfortable. I also think our waiter could have paid a little more attention to our grill. I'm not sure if they were short-staffed, but we found ourselves waiting a few times. Overall, we still enjoyed our visit. The food and portions were great, but fixing the AC and paying a little more attention to table service would make the experience even better.

Been to a lot of Gens on the mainland but the service here was just amazing, WAY better than the rest in my opinion! Jason was friendly, professional and on top of everything. The food always excellent but the service set it apart.

We had a fun time dining here tonight. We walked in around 4:30 p.m.Wec had the most kind, caring waitress. She was on it. We asked questions and they were answered. The food we had was ooohhh so much we had pork belly. Steak, KFC (korean fried chicken) chicken, veggies and shrimp. I didn't get any pictures because we were so excited to eat here Once again. The place was enjoy when we arrived but when we left an hour and a half later it was packed. The tables were filled and the place was pumping. I'm so glad they have liquor now. When we dubbed here last they didn't have their liquor license but now they do. PERFECT! I'M All IN! When you walk in you will get a text after you give them the information that they need, you'll wait for about 10 minutes or so. If they have a table ready they'll accommodate you. The ambiance is is kind of dark here but you can see but I like more light. So I can see. I feel so old because I like it lighted. Lol.... Well be back to get more things! Excellent service brings us back and they did it tonight.

Good food at a great price, lots of parking available, great for families with kids. It gets busy, so beware, you'll have a bit of a wait. As soon as your order comes, put in another order so your grill is never empty, like ours was for about 10-15 min. Ask for your burner to be changed while you're waiting. We were waiting for rice, water, ban chan, and of course, our order. One server was a bit sassy, but everyone else was nice. Casual vibes, prepare to smell like bbq when you leave.

The food was good but the service was crap! I've been to other gen locations and this is by far the worst of all. We were left waiting for the food we ordered about 10 minutes and the grill burned. They do NOT replace grills. They give you some radishes to use to clean your grill in between. Like what in the world?? And you're expected to clean off the ashes and cook the new food in it? It is so gross! Our waiter never came by. We had to yell across for rice and stuff. This is not what I expect from Gen. not a good decision to come here and regret wasting a dinner on this place. Awful service. You are waiting a LOT in between food refills. They take 10-20 minutes to bring out the refill. It's overall one of the worst meal experiences I've had.

Cool setup! A lot of food ended up here lol

Where to even start! Legendary place. Great concept. Great interior. Great service. The all you can eat is quite the wonder! The food is pretty good quality and they even have dessert apple filled pancake dakine!! So good. My server Cameron couldn't have done better either. 5 stars all around. I'm very picky to eat out also.

Gen Korean BBQ is a franchise that opened up recently on Maui! It's more on the higher end side, so expect to pay a lot of money if you bring your whole family. Be aware, when it's Friday, Saturday, Sunday + holidays you are expected to pay the dinner rate, which is $36 (I think). I'm not sure if this is common at all Gen BBQs, but this is the rule on Maui. The place itself was huge and could easily seat up to 70 tables, it was clean and the workers were very friendly as well. As for the food, you can't go wrong with some grilled meat and banchan. My favorite side of them all was the hotteok (y'all gotta get 5 orders of those lol, so yummy). Do yourself a favor and save some coin. Go to Costco and buy the 2 gift cards (worth $50 each) for the price of $79.99. Don't pay full price for this meal lol, especially on the weekend!

The roast duck was really good actually. The general tsao's chicken and chicken lettuce was good, I've definitely been to other spots that were better but I don't have anything bad to say about it. What I really disliked about this place was the Seafood Bird's Nest. Initially, they thought I ordered a Seafood Delight, but my order was missing the noodles. But they basically just fried up some noodles real quick and threw it under. And that part wouldn't have been a problem for me, but it was honestly waaaay too salty (and I like really salty! so that says a lot to me) It was difficult to eat to be honest, but I of course didn't want to waste it. The seafood included 3 pieces of shrimp, about a stick of imitation crab meat, a couple small pieces of scallop, and A LOT of calamari pieces that were soooo tough to chew, we couldn't even really eat them! For the chicken lettuce, they gave us about 3 full pieces of lettuce that was cut up and then charged us $4.00 for more pieces of lettuce which is pretty pricey lol. The siu mai was mid.. but you get what you pay for. There was also a 3% additional kitchen surcharge which was weird...? Still not sure what that was for lol. And then on top of that there's another 3% charge if you use credit card, so just be aware of that. The service was fine, because there was basically no one else in the restaurant anyway. Also - my boyfriend told me they had no soap in the restroom at all which was inconvenient. Overall, the price of their food does not make sense for the level of quality. I wouldn't recommend to my peers to come here, except maybe just grab their roast duck to go.

First,…read morethe regular menu items run close to $30 each, much more than we pay in high price Honolulu. We decided to try and save money an purchase the lunch specials which run $19-$22 dollars each. I ordered the Sweet and sour, spicy chicken with the side of fried rice. The chicken was heavily breaded but the sauce was nice. The fried rice was a dark brown mixture that didn't look like any rice I've had before. My companion ordered the curry chicken with vegetables with her side of chow mein. The curry was ok and so was the chicken but the Bell pepper needed to be cooked a little longer. The chow mein noodles were more like spaghetti noodles with seasoning. The restaurant doors were wide open and the fans were spinning and the air conditioning was turned off. I wanted to give this place a good review as I selected the place based on existing Yelp reviews but sorry can't do it. I forgot to mention that they charged a 3% fee for the kitchen AND if you use a credit card another 3% on top of the previous subtotal. Nope. Not a repeat in the future for me

Patsy's started from out as a food truck, now to cute little shop. I met and spoke to Marisa, she is super friendly and got to learn more about Patsy's Food. The cute photo is Grandma Patsy's her food, sauces legacy ,continues on here at Patsy's Food. The menu is very simple, ( about 5-6 items) & the special of the day. This way the cook which is Marisa's husband can focus on those dishes! I wanted to know what's popular and Marisa mentioned in this order: chicken tempura, chicken katsu & the donburi. I'm sure all of them are all popular! Since I already have some other foods that I picked up along the way and wanted to try the signature chicken tempura bites, I got a plate of that with all rice, no sides and got a bottle of the spicy sauce. I can't wait to use that! We ate the food at the airport and I loved it, the tempura batter is so soft, not as crispy since we didn't eat it right away and taste so unique. I never had tempura with chicken, ever. I loved dipping the chicken tempura in that sauce, so yummy! ( dip, eat with rice, repeat. repeat..) I can't wait to go back for more next visit and I need to try the donburi and rest of the menu items . Did you know you can get an entire bucket of tempura chicken, $40.?!
