I feel bad giving this place such a low rating because the staff at the grill seemed genuinely nice, and the food was pretty good. It was a bit pricey, but that's fairly typical for Maui. What brought the rating down for me was the service. My wife and I waited about 8-9 minutes before receiving menus, and eventually I got up and grabbed them myself. After that, we got our drinks, and the food came out relatively quickly, which was appreciated. The view of the ocean is beautiful, and the food was enjoyable. However, throughout the meal I felt like I had to take the initiative for almost everything. I had to ask for napkins and silverware, and after waiting 15-20 minutes at the end of our meal, I finally had to ask for the check as well. Overall, it's not a bad place if you're in a pinch, and the location is great. However, in Maui I expected a higher level of service. Unfortunately, it felt like my wife and I were largely overlooked by the waitstaff. read more

Three stars might be generous here, but I have a hard time going below that threshold unless the service is rude or I get food poisoning. We went here for the sunset and cliff dive performance. The sunset, as always in Maui, was fantastic. The dive performance was a bit lackluster, if not obviously (cringingly so) commercialized. We stayed just as long as we had to, as the birds there were more than pests... Hubby and I stayed at the Sheraton resort during our Maui vacation and through our Costco package, we received meal credits at the restaurants in the resort, so the Cliff Dive Grill was our go-to spot for a few meals. It was a nice, casual, outdoor spot by the beach with a great view. The counter seats were right by the lazy river, so it was, overall, a really nice spot to just take in scenery and people watch while enjoying your meal. I was so excited to see that they had Kalua Pork tacos on the menu, so I ordered that with a side salad the first night. What a brilliant concept that I never thought of until spending this vacation in Hawaii. The tacos came topped with a deliciously dressed coleslaw. The side salad wasn't on the menu, but I asked and they delivered. Vacation meals had me craving some fresh veggies, so I had to get some greens in and this was a nice, basic fresh bowl of greens. It was a pretty large serving of salad for a side, so that was nice. It was served with a sealed side of ranch dressing. One of the other meals I ordered was the karate chicken bites (and again, side salad). It was sweet, tangy, and delicious. Just enough crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. All in all, I really like the casual dining experience. The food was delicious. The service was excellent - super-sweet servers. I would totally go back the next time I stay there. read more

Everything was good - the fish tacos got a rave review ("I need to figure out how to make fish tacos like this"), and the poke bowl got a solid 5 stars. Very juicy and tasted great: Quesadillas were okay - loose pork, and I liked the beans and corn - but it needed more cheese. 3 out 5 - so still good. The Poke was EXCELLENT. The Sheraton has weak dining overall and the Cliff Dive is representative of the weakness. Dive grill fits with a very limited menu of uninspired poolside fair and expensive drinks. Loved the Cliff Dive Bar! It is a bar/restaurant connected to our hotel by the water the Sheraton. I would recommend even if you don't stay there , the food is very good! A nice spot in the pool / beach area of the Sheraton Maui Resort. Fairly easy to get a table anytime, we went twice and walked right in. It can get breezy in the afternoon so look out for the changing weather. The views are amazing. You got a clear sight of black rock and the beach goers soaking up the sun and cliff divers jumping off the rocks. It's right next to the pool so you can stop here if you prefer to make use of the pool. As for the food the fish tacos were very good. Fresh Mahi Mahi, mango salsa and some really good cilantro crema made these tacos hit the spot. Poke Bowl was good as well, watch out for the chili powder not mentioned on the menu. Drinks were good as well. It's hotel food and by the pool so it is what it is. I really wish they had some nachos for poolside snacks. Oh they would sell a bunch of those. read more

Love this little restaurant tucked into the Sheraton Maui! We ate here our first night after arriving at 4:00pm. We got to see the cliff dive ceremony, which is not spectacular but a nice diversion while waiting for food. The poolside ukelele player creates a fabulous ambiance. The food was surprisingly good AND they offered gluten free hamburger buns. We ate here 3 more times during our stay. Yes, it's a hotel pool bar. It also has a completely amazing view of Black Rock Beach, good, prompt service, and good, fast food with huge portions. Several vegan/vegetarian options too, which is unusual for a burgers by the sea sort of place. The real star here is the blended drinks. Yes, they are basically straight-up milkshakes with alcohol in them. And yes, they are totally delicious. You can lounge on the beach and just run up for a cocktail break - as the Barefoot Contessa says, how great is that? Cliff Dive Grill is located poolside and oceanside on the beautiful grounds of the Sheraton Maui Resort. My hubby and I were lucky to grab a seat early to watch the Super Bowl! Football special was the guava bbq pork ribs and fries! The ribs were so tender and flavorful! Just a hint of sweetness from the marinade. I think the papaya in my bowl was bad and overripe, and the smoothie was served with a cherry stuck into my straw. I know we aren't in Covid protocols anymore, but I was a bit off put by something being put into my straw, especially when I watched it happen with someone's bare hands immediately after bussing tables. The service is okay - they bring food to your table or cabana if you have one, but they don't seem to assign people to specific tables, as we had multiple wait staff members try to help us but giving conflicting guidance or asking duplicative questions. You can't beat the location and the nightly live music, hula dancing, torch lighting and cliff diving performance while the sun is setting is a great time. The service is remarkably slow and inattentive. The HH has been shortened to 3-4 likely to discourage discounts at prime seating times. The food presentation is great. Yet the presentation led to disappointment across the board. The $13 edamames were barely seasoned and were accompanied by no soy. We were grateful for the table salt. Its not hard to season edamame, so that should have been an indicator. The $19 scoop of hummus with pita and veggies had a funky sour " I've had better days" flavor. The $20 salads and dressings were tasty yet lettuce wilted. Our server took our order then disappeared for about an hour. Dont go here for the flavors , but do for the welcoming and fun ambiance, culture and show. read more
