We called General Plumbing to address several issues at our home. The most annoying was low water pressure, service on tankless water heaters and an annoying water hammer that others had tried to fix and were unable to diagnose the issue. Aren came to our home as scheduled and he covered his shoes before entering the house and any time he had to re-enter the house. He went to work after discussing the issues with me and within about 90 minutes had the water pressure restored, and most importantly the water hammer figured out and addressed. Could not be more satisfied with the work performed and it was rewarding to see how he worked with his apprentice guiding him and teaching him how to treat a customer's home. He took the time to fold the toilet paper on the roll and clean so that you would not know he had been there. Advising his apprentice that it is the small details that customers notice, and that they are as important as fixing the issues. Tub faucet would not shut off so had to shut off the supply to the house. Tried another company first but they had no one available for 2 days unless I paid an emergency service fee for them to come out after hours. Called General and they slotted me in the same day and Phil arrived about an hour later. He readily determined the likely cause and repairs needed and gave me the various options and costs, including letting me fix it myself with his instruction. I chose to have him do the work and it was a good thing because the 40 year old cartridge broke off inside the pipe when he tried to extract it. I'd have had to call him back. The job turned out to be a little more complicated than he originally thought but he updated me with what my options were and what prices would be all along. He was very calm and easygoing and gave me money-saving options as well as a discount on the work. I'll be asking for him next time I have a plumbing job. read more

The toilet is supposed to flush water down the drain, not the floor. Plunging and praying didn't work, so we called General Plumbing after having good experiences with them in the past. Adel showed up on time, spread out a mat on the porch to wipe his shoes off, then donned a pair of booties. That's a first. He asked a couple of questions to narrow down what the problem might be, then handed me a sheet that gave estimates for several likely solutions. Not wanting to know what he was doing, I left the room. A few minutes later, he went out to his truck for a snake, and a few minutes after that he reported that we were flush with success. To be honest, the charge was just about twice what I had paid for a more extensive plumbing repair at my mother's house in Missouri last month, but, after all, this IS Florida. General Plumbing/Stokes was referred to me by my neighbor. Ken was the first technician that came to fix an issue and was great. Very professional and courteous. When I had a completely different issue occur, I called General Plumbing again without hesitation. Josh was assigned to this issue. I was prepared for the worst repair to be required and was so relieved when it was much more simple an adjustment than I thought. Other companies may have trained their service people to take advantage in a case like that. Josh took the time to explain options, and discuss a couple of other questions I had about potential projects. He had very helpful suggestions, was patient with all my questions, and I thought he had really great critical thinking skills. I would recommend this company to everyone I know. My last review was in 2017. I've moved and have used General Plumbing and Air Conditioning more than I anticipated at my new residence! They're customer service is always A+ and 5 Star. Amy and Tracy in the office make me think I'm part of the owner's family! They treat me with respect and urgency to all my issues. Thankfully, most things haven't been an emergency! Andrew is usually the person scheduled for the work. He has been to my house many times now! Like an old friend, he comes with a smile and I'm happy to see him! He always explains everything thoroughly before work begins and upon completion he reviews. The thought of my plumbing or a/c having issues is never good but it's a relief knowing I have excellent and efficient service with General Plumbing and Air Conditioning. I called General Plumbing/Stokes Mechanical because a friend had referred me after 2 local plumbers were not returning phone calls. I called and spoke to Amy who was extremely professional and courteous. She sent Josh, the Service Technician who came out almost immediately..Again I was impressed with the professionalism and courteousness of the employees. Josh was quick to diagnosis and advise me as to my options. He spoke clearly and distinctly and was quick to follow up on my concerns. I cannot say enough about Josh and general plumbing. The work was completed today, very much to my satisfaction. I chose General Plumbing based on some of the great reviews I have read. I am very happy to know that they were very well deserved! The dispatchers/representatives I called were very friendly and helpful and scheduled an appointment for the next morning. The next day they called to inform me that Josh would be arriving soon. Josh was very professional and courteous. He advisewd that I would need a new water heater and showed me were the tank was corroded and explained the situation fully. He completed the installation of the water heater and took the time to explain everything that was being done. He also finished within the estimated time he said the job would take. I have used General Plumbing before and had great service.We actually had to call General due to plumbing work that was not done completely nor correctly by another plumber. Adel assured me that he would make it right, and also did a neater job. He even helped me clean under the refrigerator where I could not reach when he solved the noise problem. Kenyell Wallace was our Field Personnel and he was amazing! Very professional and kept his mask on the entire time. He went to work right away trying to assess the problem so that we could move forward and have the repairs made. Extremely thorough, knowledgeable and friendly. This place is amazing at customer service. I emailed them about my plumbing issue and didn't have any water in the entire house and they called me first thing the next morning and set me up with somebody to come out and fix it within an hour. The lady I talked to on the phone was very nice and helpful. Her name was Tracy. And the guy that came out to fix my shower was very nice, fast and efficient. Among Josh's portfolio was the manufacturer and model we favored from our research. Fortunately, our selection was available on short lead time and without complications associated with the recent supply chain interruptions. Excellent experience from start to finish. I called for repairs to my garbage disposal and shower The customer service rep was polite and efficient. She immediately contacted my condo office to ensure all of the proper paperwork was provided in advance of their arrival. Everyone was great at communicating via telephone, email and in person. Josh (and his trainee) arrived on time and already had covers on their shoes. He was very honest and did not try to sell me any unnecessary replacements or repairs. All I can say is WOW! From my first conversation with Tracy to my appointment with Mike, the customer service that I received was top notch! I called General Plumbing to provide a quote on replacing the polybutylene pipes in my home which was disclosed when we purchased the home 2 years ago. Mike came out and checked my home and found that we had copper piping, not polybutylene! Not only did he saves us thousands of dollars, he didn't even charge me for the call! My toilet was leaking from the tank. I called General Plumbing, because they always do a great job. A technician Adele was sent to take care of my problem. He was neat , clean and came right on time. He went right to work diagnosing the problem. He explained what needed to be done and how much it would be , giving me options. After my approval, he went right to work . Had a major clog in my old house and found General Plumbing on Google and hired them based on great reviews. I would concur they are outstanding. Aren my technician showed up within 30 minutes, he was about as professional as it gets, he correctly diagnosed the problem and gave me a very reasonable quote on the spot. Aren also had the city utilities guys come out because he noticed their portion of my sewer line was clogged so they wrote a work order on the spot to fix it. The scheduling staff was very accommodating and the field staff prompt and conscientious. Julio took the time to explain the problem and fixed the drain issue in a flash. The only problem he couldn't fix was actually the internal blockage in the faucet. Even with that Julio was helpful and suggested contacting the manufacture to check on warranty coverage. All in all the only complaint was the cost, but it was well worth the money. If I have another plumbing problem Julio is the guy to ask for. read more
