Needed to change out my old shower hardware to newer. Was told by every store (Home Depot, Lowe's) what they had would work. Wrong! Had to take it all back. Then I went to General Plumbing and talked to Joe. He was wonderful. Knowledgeable. And knew exactly what I needed. He explained how to remove the old handle and put new one on. And it worked! Over 20 minutes we walked by 5 employees and not one even bothered to say hello, let alone ask if they could help us so we left and will never be back. 3 literally were sitting in their seats behind desks and didn't bother to get up nor say hello until I looked at one squarely who finally said hello and then just sat there. Was so happy with the service here for our first purchase - a shower head/handle set. Unfortunately the shower head has a design flaw that causes water to drip off the back of the shower head. Is not willing to help customers to answer simple questions while not having customers simply because we had someone else helping us already who at the time was not present. This store was recommended to me by Home Depot as I was in search of a bathroom faucet that would work with a 2" countertop. Called in advance to see if they could recommend parts for the Moen faucet I already purchased. Over the phone, they gave me a part number to order, the part they recommended was not correct- didn't work. I called back to see if they had options in their showroom for 2" countertops, the person on the phone said they could help. When I made the trek over in person, they sent me to Travis who immediately said he could not help me and that whoever designed my bathroom did a poor job. I told him that I called in advance and I would leave in search of another store that could help. Only then did he provide service, while grumbling and reluctant (even though I was the only customer in the showroom), and he only showed me one $400 option that he said was in stock. I was desperate since I had been looking at several stores for a few weeks so I bought it. Luckily, Travis was wrong and they didn't have it in stock so I returned it and ended up finding a Delta faucet at a third of the price that worked like a charm. I would not recommend this store mainly due to the poor customer service in the showroom. read more

General Plumbing is a pretty old-school shop with a nice selection of higher-end brands. I had a pretty good experience there. I appreciate the ability to see items in person before buying, and love to support a local business. The showroom has an interesting setup, you have to sign in on a clipboard to get someone to help you. It's packed on weekends so if you can go on a weekday, I recommend that. The first time I went I didn't realize about the clipboard and almost left because I was frustrated at the lack of attention. They should make that more clear up front. Alex Chiok is the salesperson who ultimately helped me and he was very knowledgeable about shower systems. I'm glad I spoke to him because I almost ordered a "retrofit" style shower system online to save money, and it would've looked cheap and didn't make sense when I was building a new shower. Alex helped me select a nice American Standard shower system and it is fabulous in our new shower. The reason I'm taking away 1 Star is this store's return policy is ludicrous. You only have 10 days to return and they charge a restocking fee. Makes me glad that I ordered the one part I needed to exchange on Amazon (General Plumbing was backordered while Amazon had it in stock). I got lucky that I never had to deal with their returns, as I realized the original part I bought wouldn't work more than 10 days after buying the rest of the shower system here (thankfully I had bought that part on Amazon and was able to easily exchange it). read more

This company has to be the worst supplier ever! Our company purchased products from them, ended up with several items that needed to be returned. When they were taken back to WC we were told that we could leave them there but that I would have to go out to my car call the sales person on the invoice to work out the return so they could write a return order!!!!! I asked how was the sales person going to know what I really returned? They told me I could take pictures and send them to the sales person! What a joke! The issues is going to take days to resolve! A huge thank you to DeDe, who was absolutely amazing - she helped us select a sink and faucet and everything that comes with it. This is the type of service and knowledge you can't get with online shopping. We ended up buying some things now, and taking a list of things for later. We were sent 5 (yes I repeat, 5) defective units from Graff, each time having to install/reinstall paying a plumber. This store is just a front for refurbished items from their suppliers, sold as new. It took 4 times the price of the faucet to actually get it installed and work properly. In mid-June we went to purchase supplies for our master bathroom remodeling. The person that our contractor recommended was not in the showroom and Patty Lipsey offered to help us. We had a list and were clear on what items we needed. Many of the items had to be special ordered and she said it would take about 4 weeks. We said that's ok and paid close to $3,000.00. We didn't order the rest of what we needed that day, because I noticed Patty was losing interest and was flustered and was making mistakes left and right. When we got home I went online and checked all the items (20-23 pieces) and found out that Patty has made a few big mistakes. I sent an email right away and called the next day to correct these mistakes. She never called to let us know if the order was ready even after the 4 weeks was over. I had to call and follow up a few times to check the states of the order. She is very impatient and irritated on the phone. Finally after 6 weeks I went to pick up the order. I noticed there were 2 stickers on one of the boxes, one with my name on the box and underneath with a different name. I opened the box and saw that this was a returned item with finger prints all over it. I asked Patty to place a new order for us since they checked and didn't have another one at shop. By the time I got home I had a message from her that they have found another one and I can go and pick it up anytime and don't have to wait 4 weeks for the special order. Today I went to pick up the piece with my name on it. I opened the box and noticed it was the same one, but they tried to clean up the finger prints and give it to me as a new one. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? How stupid do you think I am? I asked Steve Archuleta (at the will call) to check and see if they have another one, he did and gave me a new one. I have to say Steve Archuleta is one hardworking and honest man, who helped me the other day and today. Not like Patty and the other person who tried to trick me and give back to me the returned and damaged piece which had paid pretty good money for it. Would never go back to this shop again. read more
