The whole process was just too long. We traveled seven hours to purchase this trailer. We had an appointment at 1:30 pm but we got there a bit earlier at noon. They checked us in and at 2:30 pm is when someone came to show us the trailer. Salesman was courteous and although he did not have all the answers to our questions he tried his best. I was unhappy with some things and asked if we could see another trailer just like that one but they refused and said it had to be that one. I was going to leave with a trailer regardless but I felt like they just pushed that specific trailer on me. We agreed that they were going to work on some things and for the others they were going to order some parts for us. We waited a long time before meeting with the finance Department. Once all papers were signed we had to wait for the "promised" repairs and they told us to go eat some late lunch in the meantime. We came back to the dealer around 4:30 pm but still had to wait for them to finish the repairs. We were well aware that not everything would be done in one day but unfortunately we had to head back home to Miami. That is the reason why they told us they would order the parts (ex.mini fridge door, fridge connections cover) and we could install it ourselves. It's been three weeks and I've received no parts or even an update. One of the workers even suggested why didn't they just grab the door from another one of the on site trailers. At 6 pm they brought the trailer out for us to take home but did not allowed us any time to inspect it after the repairs. The dealer closed and as we were putting it on the truck we realize the side marker lights were not even working. Upon getting home we unload and go in to realize the only repair they had done was to replace a door that was missing that later fell down and an outside light. I also found a tear on the leather sofa due to a screw that is sticking out. I understand we took the trailer "as is" but we had agreed these repairs would be done while at the dealer before finalizing the purchase. I feel that communication should have been better, we had emailed back and forth before I got there but once we made the trip and were down there the sales person rushed us; whenever I wanted to ask a question she was either unavailable or send me to ask finance. Also she never followed up with us to see if we were satisfied. To my understanding the person that communicated with us that gave us the appointment was not there and another sales person is the one who helped us and she was very nice and really tried to help. read more

We should have paid more attention to the reviews. We bought our RV from General at the Tampa RV show. We took delivery of our Thor Synergy in Jacksonville in January. We were in the process of building a house, and garaged the camper, and the first time we got the camper out to use it was mid July, in Florida. We stopped at a rest area and found the air conditioner didn't work. We went to the Ocala General RV location the next day to see what they could do to fix it. That was problem #1. They misdiagnosed the actual problem, which turned out to be a loose wire. They ordered in a part from Thor the next day (we had to get another hotel room) which didn't fix the problem. They then decided it was the computer control module (the Firefly, again wrong) and ordered that. After another hotel room (#3) they told us there were no parts for this new a model, and it would be 3 weeks till it could come in. We went home. The part came in, we took it to Gander RV, who does Warrenty work, and who also had a 3 week backlog, (more waiting) and they told us it was not the problem, it was just a simple wire that needed reconnecting. But somehow, the seam across the roof by the roof a/c was totally cracked, a corner of the side roof was crinkled, which we could go back to and see in pictures I had taken the day after it was first at Ocala General, and someone had shoved a bunch of silicone in the seam to cover it up. There were actually footprints in the silicone I couldn't wash off on the roof. It's now the end of October. Ocala first said the roof should have been strong enough for their techs to work on the a/c so it's a Thor problem. They said they were negotiating with Thor. Today they tell us, no, they were never on the roof. This leads us to conclude one of two things. Either it was delivered to us broken by General, or they are lying to us to do nothing. If you think there will be nothing wrong with your new RV, guess again. If you believe General will keep you camping, guess again. We believed it. We've been 10 months with a new camper we couldn't use. Buyer beware. We are sorry we bought it. read more

Worst place to buy from and have anything repaired. They band aid it until you harp on them then they still lie about fixing it right. I have had a slide repaired twice which still leaks the hot water heater done twice. First was a band aid and ruined our first trip out. Doors messed up and wouldn't latch. Didn't want to fix the real problem that the door handle holes cut to big. Windows wouldn't lock. Screen door out of square. Had to fight on all of this to get it done but still wasn't actually fixed. They got one star only because I can't do a negative 5 stars. read more

You can't view anything on their lot without speaking with and working with a sales person who will constantly throw you a sales pitch and tell you about other vehicles they may have that will work for you and that they have the lowest prices. All of their coaches are locked, which means they stay with you the entire visit in which you will surely be speaking with a sales manager although you have told them you were not looking to buy today or in the next six months who will continue to try and sell you. If you do go here don't give them any of your info or they will call you weekly for months asking if you have found a coach yet. The buying experience for such a large purchase should be fun and enjoyable not dreadful because you can't get rid of the sale pitch. I would pay more money to buy from anyone else. read more

HORRIBLE SERVICE EXPERIENCE. Called twice last week to confirm how service operated. Both times was told to show up 9am Mon-Fri and that they allot 2 hours and up to 5 items that are handled same day while you wait. It was hard to believe, which is why I called back a second time days later and asked a separate service team member to verify. I even asked what happens when too many people show up and they can't get to everyone in the same day. Her answer: I've never seen that happen. Drive 1.5 hours in rush hour traffic to get there this morning to have the AC replaced in our trailer. $1,400 quote. Service Advisor says as he's writing up our service order: "I'm going to need 2.5 weeks to get this done." Mind you, they had the AC in stock. The service advisor verified when I arrived. I was completely baffled. When I explained what I was told BOTH times I called in the last 7 days he said they were swamped and there was no way it was getting looked at today. He then asked "Were you going to wait?" almost like that was an insane thing to do. When I asked to speak to a manager I was told they were in a closed door meeting (I was there almost 2 hours and never spoke to one). I even asked for the store manager since the service manager was in a meeting. Nothing. When I asked the advisor if there was any way it could get done today he asked me to unhitch the trailer so he could check it in. I told him I didn't want to waste time unhitching and re-hitching just for him to tell me he couldn't get it done today. He refused to see about getting it done today until I unhitched. Clearly this dealer uses this tactic to get you there and then treats you no differently than all of the other local dealers they say they're "better" than. I bought our trailer at Lazydays and took it here instead for service because of the horror stories I've heard about Lazydays. It turns out I was just baited. Sale team is great to work with. The problem is the service department, do not get any of your warranty work done at General RV Center. Call the manufacturer to help you find other service centers. I purchased a New 42' toy hauler 5th wheel 1.5 years ago. Sense then my RV has been in their shop for 149 day already. Not count I drop it off 78 days ago. For 2 weeks of service work. The biggest problem is ever time you drop it off to have them fix any issue. they order the wrong part or size part. then they have to order again add more time and week to do a small job. Other issue they call to tell you everything is complete. When looking over your trailer they only did half of what is needed. follow up by, we order the wrong part. Next issue, you drop off your RV on your schedule date. Call a week later to see the progress and still waiting to go into bay for repairs. Next issue, my front corner getting hit by person moving the trails around in the lot. It been in the body shop two time now and it take about 2 months to even get into the body shop. BEWARE OF THIS DEALERSHIP. THEY PROMISE AND DONT COME THRU. It all started out great in the beginning. We ordered our 45' trailer model, that originally cost $105k, after negotiating to $70k. We put our deposit down on Feb 1 2023. Wayne McGregor sales man said it would be in middle of April. Cuz was being built. Then March 17th he called and said the trailer was in stock and we needed to finish paperwork. I scheduled flight, car, hotel for April (as we live in Wa state but flordia). Told the dealership dates and scheduled finishing paperwork. Then finance guy said we'll get the other one that comes in April 6th this was mar 20th. March 21st, Wayne (sales guy) called early and told us that they SOLD BOTH models promised to us. Even though our names were on them and we gave them money. The told us they could order another one but the cost would be way higher, then the paperwork we signed and put money down on originally, so now upto $82k. That's almost $12k more. They both said that the manufacturer price went up. We told them it Wasn't our problem or original deal, we agreed on And TRIED to sell us a cheaper built model, that we didn't want. After arguing and being upset with Wayne and manger BRANDON. We decided to force them to refund our money and take business elsewhere. Brandon the manger only tried to make more money off us then we originally agreed. I took my business to COUCHES RV NATION and saved even more money. Wholesaler rv company all the way. Saved even more money for same trailer. Spent there $69k. read more

We bought a Thor Windsport from General RV Center in Dover, FL, In 2016. The sales people were aggressive about selling us a Platinum Ultimate Plus Protection plan to protect both the exterior and interior finishes, at a cost of $1,285. When we explained that it would be garage kept and not used that much, the salesman told us we really should have the coverage to protect the inside surfaces from damage, too. We have only 4,500 miles on our RV, and we have kept it in our garage in order to avoid environmental damage. However, the upholstery on the driver's seat, passenger seat, and couch is completely peeling off. The result is a completely disgusting mess! We can't even sit on it without the residue getting all over our clothes. When we called the dealership, we were told to call the warranty people. When we contacted the warranty people, they were quick to quote us the protection as applying only to stains and tears, not peeling. We researched the problem online and found MANY people experiencing the same problem since 2010, so we know Thor was aware of the problem. We feel defrauded - and lied to. When we call other dealers about possible selling the RV, one of their first questions is whether the seats are peeling. It definitely is a widely known problem. We are ashamed of how awful our RV looks and would like to have the upholstery redone using durable material. It'd be great to have them reupholster or seats and couch or else refund the $1,285 and let us get someone on the outside to do it. read more

If there were negative stars, that would have been more appropriate. My wife and I bought a new 2021 Tiffin, we traded in our used 2014 Tiffin. During the walk thru, we noticed a sensor noise, the gentleman giving us the orientation told us the noise would be fixed before we left. It wasn't. It goes off every 10 minutes. The awning was broken on one end. A sensor light on the odometer/speedometer is on. There were a few other things. When we dropped it off for these items, they told us they could not tell us when it would be completed. A week later, the service advisor called to let me know the tech at had to go home because of a family issue. A couple of days later she called to let me know that the tech was out with covid (easy excuse for anything these days), I asked her if it was a family issue or covid since she told me 2 different things. She told me that she was being forthright and that it was covid. In the meantime, I called Tiffin to let them know how disappointed I was. Bob Tiffin called me back and said he will do anything to get me back on the road. He said, if they need parts, he will overnight them. Today the service tech called to let me know we can pick up our motorhome, but none of the repairs were made. They had to order parts and it could take up to 6 weeks for them to arrive. I told her it is unacceptable. That beeping sound, every 10 minutes was more than my wife or I want to hear over the next 6 weeks. They also told me for odometer/speedometer problem, I needed to take it to a Ford dealer. I said no way, they should have delivered a 100% complete motorhome when they sell a $ 200k vehicle to someone. I also forgot to mention how lousy they are with their customers. I have never had anyone pick up a call since I bought it and was out the door. They always transfer you to voice mail, and then they don't call back. Worst f---ing people I have ever dealt with. I want my money back, I will go to Tampa and buy the same model at Lazy Days. Much better service. read more

Then, when you are wondering where did all the attention go you were experiencing, you finally walk up to the customer service counter and are told "Oh, your RV is sitting out there! Have a good day". And do not drive anything off the lot unless your completely ok with everything. Good luck getting things repaired in a reasonable time. We have 2 recalls not to mention the punch list still. 6 months in, the manufacture states to this day, the dealer hasn't requested the 1 recall part even though it's available. Second recall we were told they don't perform that service and we would have to go to a Ford dealer that services RV's even though the recall states to go to your dealer. Your no longer a "VIP". "The definition of a NIGHTMARE !!! " Pease read before considering General RV. We purchased a 2021 Fleetwood Discovery in Sept. of 2020 . We did a walk thru , several concerns and we were told all items would be repaired or replaced at our first service . Our biggest concern was a crushed tile in front of the refrigerator "Oh , no problem ,we will replace that at the first service , you have extra tiles in your storage area. Other parts on order . Take your motorhome and have fun . First service comes we are then told we need to take the motorhome back to the factory in Indiana to get the tile repaired . Yes , back to the factory. We were also told the other replacement parts that were ordered at delivery were not ordered and we would have to come back 4 days in service nothing done . We return again and only got one item repaired , a missing blind . All other items still not completed. . Third visit , 5 days , nothing , nothing done again. We called the Operation Manager (Trae) , no return call , we called the body shop manager, no return call, we called the General RV corporate headquarters 3 times and finally a promise on the third call that someone from the Dover store will call within 48 hours . 72 hour plus and no call .Another call, now the 4th to Corporate and we do , 3 days later, get a call from the Drew service manager at the Tampa Store. He did apologize for the poor service , poor communication and explained that his service writers were under pressure and that was the reason they made up the untrue stories we were told ..The additional expenses we have , motels ,food , RV park reservations ,etc , since we are fulltime , were to be expected according to him. His only resolution was for US to call the Rev Group and see who they would recommend to go to get our issues resolved as he did not have the confidence that they would make the repairs . Yes , take it elsewhere ......In other words the only reason for the call was to get rid of us ! This is a short version in hopes others will read this and avoid General RV at all costs ! Keys missing upon deliver. When I called they said would overnight them. I called the next day, late afternoon, and nobody knew anything about the missing keys. You can never get the same people on the phone and NO ONE will return a call. Supposedly someone will be out this weekend to replace locks, 2 weeks later, but have been told 3 times now that a mobile locksmith would be out the very next day, of course no show each time. The tank meters always show full tanks, even when freshly drained. Also camper has major leaks and while looking for source of leaks we discovered black mold in our NEW? travel trailer. read more

Taking the family out west this year and went in for quote on RV rental. John, the General Manager, says he's been there for 30+ years was the 'salesperson'. He was about as charming as a viper! Swore exorbinantly and was very rude! If you need to get your RV don't go here!! Terrible service department. They sell you an RV that is knowingly to them faulty. Then you are always in there service department fixing it. It takes weeks if not months to get work done on your RV. The service advisors and management ignore your phone calls Terrible experience. Save yourself the headache. Go somewhere else. Update review: I am happy to report that General RV is in the process of hiring new service advisors. I was assigned a new advisor that is like night and day from the last individual that was taking care of us. Brian Miller was very thorough and attentive with the whole process of getting our RV fixed and ready to get back on the road. I hope this is a permanent and ongoing improvement to this company. In this industry there are many problems so I realize it is an uphill battle. But customer service should never be comprised. Once again, I must share my disappointment with General RV in Dover. Took our 2020 Bounder 35K in for a Dometic cooktop recall and to have a Safe-T-Plus installed. I had already spoken with Dometic back in November when the recall notice was sent and gave them all the information on our cooktop. Apparently that wasn't good enough for General RV to order the part as they had to see it for themself. Asked them when they thought it would be fixed they said they had no idea that Dometic had installed all these old cooktops they had laying around and now they had to make good on them. My cooktop was manufacturered in 2019 according to the plate on it. Not sure why the service rep thought that was years old but . . .seems they don't mind throwing Dometic under the bus. Next, I asked the service rep several times through emails and phone calls for a break down on the price of the Safe-T-Plus. He finally called me after I emailed with a CC to the Service General Manager about not getting a response and told me that he had put one on a unit exactly like mine a Bounder 35K, the day before and gave me an exact breakdown which was about $30.00 less than the out the door estimate he had given me a week before. Ok sounded good, imagine the surprise when the bill came out $100.00 more and he lied and said that he had mistakenly given me the price for a Coachmen Pursuit. Really ???? We had turned in a 10% off the labor coupon when the unit as taken in and I can only believe that had something to do with the added price. This has only added to my negative opinion of General RV. read more

We purchased a 2022 Salem Grand Villa from General RV at the Tampa RV show. It was delivered to our campground on February 2. During our pre-delivery walk through we noted water dripping from under the unit. We were assured that this issue would be fixed before delivery. IT WAS NOT! In fact, there have been 3 leakage problems since we moved in. What is really frustrating is the lack of customer service and commitment on the part of General RV once the unit left their dealership. Communication is just unbelievably poor. Unanswered voicemails, being bounced from department to department, and a general lack of company pride and customer commitment is disgusting and frustrating. General RV provides no mobile service, leaving it the customer's responsibility to jump the hoops in locating and hiring qualified service technicians, and then following a procedure to get warranty work reimbursed. Unless you can drive or deliver your unit back to General RV, I would recommend taking your business elsewhere. read more

So far the worst dealership I have had the misfortune of working with. Their sales department is misleading and the service is terrible. We bought a new 5th wheel form them at the Tampa RV show. I noted the things that were missing from the unit that the price sheet stated were included and they stated it would be taken care of ( large stain on the comforter, missing quick connect water hose., auto level remote). We were told once the show was over they had to clean the unit and do the inspection for delivery . When we picked up the unit it was still dirty and looked like the may have hosed it off. All the missing items were still missing and they state it wasn't their problem and wasn't part of the deal. The first use of the unit was a disaster, the hot water heater didn't work. All the fittings in sink and shower leaked and flooded the floor, the black water tank leaked, the black tank cleaner did not work, the black water valve was stuck open, a trim piece fell off the side of one of the slides and screws were left loose on the outside of a slide that gouged a hole in the side of the camper when driving. I highly doubt they inspected or did anything before delivering that camper. When I took it in for the repairs, they had it for weeks and fixed the leaks and the leaking black tank which was never fixed and then just leaked in a different spot. When they fixed the hole in side where the screw rubbed, they tested the gell coat samples on the front of the unit to match the color but never removed the paint samples from the side and it dried. Not there are several round spots at eye level of different colored gell coat permanently dried onto the camper. We gave up and ended up fixing the problems our selves and will never go back there for any reason. My neighbor recently bought a camper from them and on the way home the lug nuts sheared off and he lost a wheel. Come to find the wheel was never tightened. I guess the forgot to inspect that one too. Do yourself a favor and buy one from somewhere else! read more

I wish there was an option for zero stars. Going back to January 22 2023, we went to the Tampa RV show. I spoke to a Morryde employee and decided to purchase 3 items. A step above 3 step, a telescopic handrail and motion activated light. We walked up to the register and was handed off to another guy who placed our order and had us pay in full. At this point we were told that we can pick our items up in 3-5 days from the Ocala location of General RV witch is 1 1/2 hours from us because it was closest. After a week and no one calling us, I call the Ocala store to ask if my order had came in. They told me not yet, probably another week. I call back after another week, still not there. I also asked to make sure that all 3 items were ordered, they told me only 2, the steps and handrail and that I need to call the Tampa/Dover store because they are the one who took the order. I now call the Tampa/Dover store and ask about the order and get the run around that Morryde was not ready for such a large order from the RV show and was having to build everything, I also ask them about the 3 items and was told that Ocala keeps the steps in stock so they only have the light and handrail on order. Another week goes by no call, when I call , yet a different answer and they are going to have the Parts manager call me. Never a return call. I call again after a week, still no truck from Morryde. (During the past couple of weeks I have already called General RV competitors and mock placed orders online to check availability of all 3 items, every place in Central Florida and online was in stock). My wife now writes to Morryde asking about the situation and they get right back to her that We can reach out to the parts manager in Tampa/Dover for questions. 1 day after Morryde's email, 3/10/23 a girl from Tampa/Dover calls and tells me that my order has came in and in 3 hours it will be in Ocala. I ask her if all 3 items are there and she said only 2. She said that the steps and handrail was the only thing on the order and that she would have the parts manager call me right back. No call. I now call the Ocala store 3/13/23 to check my order and speak to the parts manager, they said he had already left for the day, I try the General manager, he's also gone. I ask for any manager, they put the sales manager on the phone and we talk for 2 minutes and he said he is getting the parts manager right now. He sends me to the parts managers voicemail. I call right back, rings several times then hangs up. I try 2 more tims and same thing. This is all before they close at 6pm. 3 minutes until 6 I call back and the receptionist picks up. I tell her I was just on the phone with the sales manager and need to talk to him, she told me hang on.The phone now continues to ring for the rest of my 30 minute ride home and he never picks back up. I'm still without parts. Not sure even what is at the Ocala store. I just want what I have paid for almost 2 months ago that I could have bought anywhere else same day. We are now working with Morryde to suggest stopping business with General RV because it is making a bad reputation for their name since we were under the impression at the RV show that we are buying straight from Morryde. We are also reaching out to the National RV Association to not let General RV back at their RV show due to bad business of a vendor that is misleading and not following through with paid for products. If I would have know up front that I was not dealing with Morryde, that it was actually General RV, I would have never purchased due to how many bad reviews are everywhere against General RV in the RV community. read more

There is not a provision for leaving negative stars or this would have been the case. If you are buying an RV from General RV, make sure that you are happy when you leave with this unit because even if you have your "IOU" in writing, this means nothing to them. Where to start. Customer service is a joke. General RV Dover. No return calls ever!! We bought a 2021 421 FL Yukon Dutchman and within 5 days Of taking delivery the bathroom was not working. We called for two days, multiple times and never received a return call. My husband had to go to the dealership. Now if this is what they mean by "Keep You Camping", no thanks!!! When we were making the purchase they couldn't tell us enough about this family owned business, about their great customer service, on and on. So finally it was repaired after many calls and hotel bills. Oh and one more thing, it did also have a leak that was not address. It was part of this claim. This brings me to the next issue. Now less than a month we have many leaks, it's leaking on both sides of the RV, out the cabinet in the kitchen, out the condensation in the air conditioner in the kitchen, now nothing about this seems normal. So we called one minute after they opened Monday, 25, and left a message for Drew, service manager. No call back. I called back at 12, 3 and 5:30. No call back. I sent a message to the President that evening detailing the issue. The next day we called and left a message for Dave Carlson. Again no call. Wow! Total lack of customer service. Seems we have a lemon but no service or help whatsoever. Shocking!!! read more

This place is a rip-off. They are happy as hell to give you an RV but make you pay extra for this and that, but actually never follow through with their obligations. You will be paying $2k+ for a "prep fee" that will never get done, no matter how many times you go or how many times you speak to someone. They have HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. They just want their money and then they throw you to the curb. Without fail, every single time. Even when you they sell you a lemon... they don't give af about their customers.
