I have rented RVs once a year from MidFlorida for more than five years. I used to highly recommend them to others, but this past year's rental was deeply disappointing. The RV was delivered (six hours late) with the propane disconnected. We didn't know this at the time of delivery, and only later discovered that it had been disconnected because there was a leaking regulator. We had no functional refrigerator or oven/stove for the first three days of the rental, but most importantly, no heat when the temps dropped below 40 degrees. We also were charged a higher nightly rate that then one quoted on the website. The RV was in poor repair--the dining table could not support any kind of weight and was too wobbly to leave cups, etc. In the past, we've had issues with rentals from MidFlorida but they always made efforts to fix it or at least make some effort to compensate us for the failures. But this time, I've been completely ghosted following the rental, even though Lisa promised they'd get back to me. Like I said, I've recommended them in the past, but I don't know what has happened--the inventory seems to be more beat up than in past years, yet the prices keep going up. One of the reasons I had recommended them is because they would provide on-site support if there was an issue (we would get RV delivered to the race track), but this past year was the worst and most disappointing rental I've ever had. Even worse is the lack of response after the fact. All in, we were billed roughly $3000 for six nights for an aging, class C that only slept four adults (with two grown men forced to use the bed over the cab) and had no functional heat, refrigerator, stove, or oven. The broken propane was clearly disconnected and should have been caught during prep, but they had us double-booked with the previous client so they rushed it. For the price we paid, this was unacceptable. I'm leaving two stars instead of one because like I said, I had always appreciated their efforts in the past, but this last one was really a one-star rental. I take no pleasure in leaving this review as I like to support local businesses instead of the big corporations, and I certainly hope they are able to do a better job maintaining their inventory in the future. I originally rented a C class rv and when I called about the rental, they were out of C class RV's. Darrel honored the transaction and set us up in a 36' A class RV. The Rv was awesome and their attention to detail was even better. It drove very nice and was clean and ready. Darrel really is the only guy I dealt with, but I am sure that all of his staff is excellent. The return was simple. He even has a night box if you are returning on Sunday. My husband, kids (ages 4 & 6) and I rented the Winnebago Trend for a month and we couldn't have been more pleased with the experience. Darrell was very responsive and helpful from beginning to end. He even checked in during our trip to ensure that all was well. Another great RV rental experience (3rd time). You cannot beat the unlimited mileage and generator use! We had no issues this trip. The Jayco Alante Class A is a little small but wide enough with the slides in to be comfortable for 4 adults when traveling. Opens up to a nice size for camping. Super easy to drive. Bring your toolbox and lie detector when renting from Mid Florida RV Rentals We have had nothing but outright lies and poorly maintained equipment from Mid Florida RV Rental. Early part of June 2020, we rented their Winnebago Trend. Prior to renting had a tour of the RV at that time the RV was misrepresented in terms of its abilities and capacities, engine, fuel tank and towing. We picked it up and received a completely different story on those two items and claims those capacities were never told to anyone otherwise they would not have rented it to us. It has a V6 gasoline engine, not diesel. It's front wheel drive not rear wheel. Fuel tank is 25 gallon capacity not 40-60 gallons (loaded averages 9 MPG). Hauls no more than 2,000 lbs with an 1 1/4" hitch receiver, not 2" inch. On control panel, Propane reading shows 1/2 full, Mid Florida RV Rental claims it was full just doesn't read properly on panel. When we picked it up, we were told only the toilet drains into black water tank. With use, we learned bathroom sink also drains into blackwater tank. Kitchen sink and shower drains into grey water tank. When something is broken or isn't working properly, they (Mid Florida RV Rental - Darryl) will tell you "it's user error". Bring your tools and mechanical know-how, you're going to need it. Here's a list of mechanical issues we had: First night, it's raining the wipers were falling apart and windshield washing fluid was not working. Mid Florida RV Rental claims everything was in working order when it was picked up. There's not a windshield wiper or windshield washing fluid inspection when you pick it up. When I opened the hood of the RV, found that they was rat damage in the engine compartment. Appears, the rat ate parts of the windshield wiper hose causing it not not work. Rate also ate the the air intake gasket and parts of the firewall. Mid Florida RV Rental claims the rat damage occurred three years ago and it was repaired. We took photos, it's not repaired. We replaced the missing washing fluid hose and replaced the falling apart windshield wipers. Day two, A/C freezing over causing it to not work properly waking everyone up early AM sweating and unable to sleep. Mid Florida RV Rental had us crawling all over the RV, inside, outside and underneath to diagnose the problem. Fund the A/C unit had frozen over. Mid Florida RV Rental told us we left a door open causing the A/C to freeze over, we did not. Most likely cause is low refrigerant, didn't bring our A/C technician so couldn't test that theory. Once it thawed out, seemed to work well. Day 3 - Now 1,000 miles into cross country trip. (1) Generator would not stay running causing the A/C to not work nor anything else electrical working without being hookup to a campsite. It's summer and is very hot inside without A/C. Mid Florida RV Rental claims it's perfectly fine to drive without A/C in the rear for the passengers. Definitely is not, becomes a hot box quickly. Mid Florida RV Rental being quite belligerent claimed we did not know how to turn on the generator properly that was the problem not the generator. After several phone calls with Mid Florida RV Rental about the generator issue, they threatened to charge us for the mobile repair service if nothing was found wrong. (2) Issue number two same day - turn signal out warning came up on dashboard. Stopped RV to check out turn signals they all worked fine. Kept driving, warning kept flashing, stopped again to check. All worked well. Mid Florida RV Rental said user error, everything worked properly when we picked it up. We accessed all three fuse panels to check for bad connection or blown fuse. Found a few fuses loose, pushed those back into place which resolved the issue. Day 4-6 Took 1.5 days for Mid Florida RV Rental to send a mobile repair service to look at generator, whom found a broken throttle spring and inoperable circuit breaker causing the problem. Mobile repair doesn't have the parts needs to order them to compete repair. Two days goes by without the mobile repair person showing up and Mid Florida RV Rental keeps telling us somebody is coming to repair giving all sorts of different time frames when somebody would show up which kept us from going anywhere in fear we might miss the mobile repair person. Day 6, original mobile repair person tells us he is not coming to repair... while Mid Florida RV Rental claims differently. Mid Florida RV Rental being incompetent, we took it upon ourselves to resolve the issue by pulling up stakes and taking it to a Cummins dealer (Cummins Onan generator) for repairs with plans to pick it up on our way back to Florida. Meanwhile, Mid Florida RV Rental threatening us with monetary damages for taking it to a dealer and leaving it there for repairs. read more

Be very careful with Mid Florida RV,their RV fleet is in very poor condition, the RV they gave me was in very very poor condition, the wear inside it was excessive, but the worst of all is not this, it is the dishonesty of the management, I returned my RV which was inspected by Kelly the manager and everything was fine no damage was found but 5 days later I received an email telling me that they found damage to the entry step which she used to get inside the RV when she inspect it the day of my return. 5 days later they hold me responsible for something that they could have caused. This place is a scam. We rented an RV for a two week vacation. Worst decision ever. We trusted that the RV would be in good working order. We picked up the RV and it was dirty. We cleaned the and disinfected the entire unit and then sugar ants got in our food. We were told that maintenance was done on the vehicle. It was not. The gas was near empty. The propane was near empty. We had to replace the windshield wipers and fix the wiper fluid hose. The walk through was rushed. We were given inaccurate information about the unit during the walk through. Two days into the trip the generator broke on the RV. The ac would not work when not plugged in. We were told that the RV would be repaired by a mobile repair shop. We kept getting conflicting info and were stranded for 3 days with no repair. Bottom line - vacation ruined. The customer service was horrible. They lied over and over. Oh, and it appears that a rat ate the inside under the hood. Please do not rent from this place. read more

Beware! This company is crooked. I rarely leave reviews, but renters need to be forewarned. I provided my credit card for a 24-hour hold. (First bad decision!). Ryan sends me an email with a discounted package and I respond via text, "Sounds good." I email and voicemail with questions, but never get a response to those questions. However, I did get an email from him with a Contract, Terms and Conditions, etc the first day of he month. It states.... "Attached to this email is your rental contract and cancellation policy. If you accept the terms of both please reply I Approve to this email. Until you reply, this reservation will only be held for 24 hours from now. Please sign the attached Rental Contract and Cancellation Form before your pick-up date." I NEVER responded. I NEVER signed a contract. I NEVER AGREED! I didn't respond because he didn't answer questions and his price though "discounted" was still $1000+ over other local rental places. I NEVER heard back from Ryan until 3 1/2 weeks later when I get an email stating "When will you be picking up your RV?" Huh? I never even replied back to the contract email. I never finalized a reservation! I never agreed to the terms! I never signed a contract! According to his own terms, the hold should've been released after 24-hours. BUT low and behold he charged my credit card $4k the week prior to his "When are you picking it up" email. Huh!?! Ryan hasn't responded to two emails asking for a refund. I've disputed it with my credit card company. The next step is to file a police report for identity theft. A company not to be trusted! DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION EVEN IF ITS JUST A 24-HOUR COURTESY HOLD! ***I got a refund after filing a complaint with my credit card company. RUN DON'T WALK AWAY FROM EVER TRUSTING THESE PEOPLE WITH YOUR RV!!! Our RV went from being in pristine condition with 6000 miles on it to a vehicle that we basically had to sell for less than salvage cost. The vehicle ended up with over 30,000 miles on it, yet we received a total of 3 small checks during the time that we had it in the 'care' of these people. In fact, itwas not cared for at all, apparently left out in the elements with windows down and became water-soaked and mold infested among other things. In addition to that, Ryan and Phil are deceptive, never sending regular correspondence of ANY kind related to rentals, costs, repairs, etc. You would be better off driving your vehicle off a cliff that putting it in the hands of these rip-off artists!!!
