This was our 1st time renting an RV and it was an amazing experience. My husband, kids (ages 4 & 6) and I rented the Winnebago Trend for a month and we couldn't have been more pleased with the experience. Darrell was very responsive and helpful from beginning to end. He even checked in during our trip to ensure that all was well. The team worked tirelessly to get the generator operating at full capacity for us prior to our departure and were very transparent and communicative with us. The walk-through was great...all staff were very friendly and helpful. The RV was extremely clean and comfortable as well as easy to drive and park. We'll definitely be recommending Mid Florida RV Rentals to friends/family and look forward to our next rental...if we don't buy one before then as we now are hooked. Big thank you to all at Mid Florida RV Rentals.

Signed…read morepapers and was given a thorough overview of the van / electric/ water/ etc by Shannon (THANK YOU!) I did have a general understanding of RVing prior, but still much appreciated. These vans are owned by people but rented out by this company - so... it was an older unit, some things were broken/delicate/damn near broken and obviously not meant to be beaten so.... With common sense and care everything was fine. I drove from Tampa to the keys without difficulty. I am 5'7" 140lb and not athletic / agile. I have fallen/ tripped/ banged my head and other body parts 7000 times.. again the van is small but nice! I got to my destination (Tampa to keys) and hooked up to power / water .. power didn't work. Camp ground figured out the entire electric panel was turned off. Very odd... anyways AC and all worked great no complaints. Showered, used water heater, and dumped tanks in the morning without issue. Bed is heavy and uneven / hard to lift. You end up letting your chest hold it while your legs and back push resistance = uncomfortable with boobs let's be real.. not journeys fault but the bed will absolutely break your back/painful kink in the morning.. I'm still recovering lol. There are ants. Mind you... I'm not surprised. It's a camper in Florida. But it's still annoying. I'm in this thing for 3 days I don't want to deal with ants... Drop off was easy, provided a gate code and let myself in and out. Overall would recommend if you can deal with ordinary use and issues, if you need something brand new and sparkling this isn't it.

This was not mentioned to my husband. It is pitch black so he could not see there were two gates. He was instructed to put a code in but because the gate was not identified, he was at the wrong gate. As the sun began coming up, he was able to make his way to the second gate. Mind you, he tried phoning the leasing agent 53 times - yes, 53 times before he picked up! Yes it was 6:00 in the morning but we could not get to our rental. Even better, once my husband was in the gate (after an hour of being there) our RV was LOCKED! UGH! My husband had to wait for the agent to come and unlock the RV. This not only delayed us leaving, we hit rush hour in a few cities and could not go out to celebrate a family birthday that evening since we arrived at our location at 9:00! As we made our way out on the road, we soon discovered the navigation system was not operational. My husband had to phone the owner to try to use the system however, the system was never activated by the owner. A few of us were trying to work along the route and soon also discovered the internet we paid for was not working. Great! Since a few solid hiccups already occurred, my husband decided to call the owner about the insurance we purchased for our trip. Initially the owner told him all was ok. Great - we continued on our trip only to receive a call awhile later telling us the insurance we thought we purchased was not in effect; we still needed to purchase this! Yes, while already on our trip. I do believe it needed new shocks/suspension and windshield wipers were not good. All of this is why I am giving this review a 3.5. ALL of this could have easily been avoided! Our trip started off on a bad note because of this and again, we missed plans on Monday night with our family. Not acceptable. The 3.5 stars is because of all of the above. The RV itself was great! We enjoyed it, it was comfortable and made for great memories. Going forward, if we choose to rent an RV again, I"m confident we will look elsewhere.

Vacations are meant to be stress relievers, this is NOT the case with the THOR CHATEAU 31EV RV that…read morewe rented from SUNCOAST RV TAMPA to take our family to a reunion from FLA to West Virginia with a visit to see my ailing brother. SUNCOAST RV TAMPA knew we were traveling with an infant and my 80+ year old Mom. We felt SUNCOAST RV TAMPA's response downplayed and diminished the sheer misery we endured DAILY in the RV we rented from them. DAY ONE: ABSOLUTE nightmare when we stopped after our first 4 hours of driving at 2 am to rest in Kingsland, GA six of us stuck in the 100+ degree trailer that had no AC because THE GENERATOR DID NOT WORK and it was 2 am! No one rested the first night. We called SUNCOAST RV first thing that morning and let them know we were in Kingsland, Georgia dead tired and miserable in the super hot vehicle and wanted to go to a hotel to rest. We were headed to Piedmont, SC first, SUNCOAST RV instructed us to travel to Greensville, SC ignoring my suggestion for a hotel to rest, they made us a reservation at a KOA in Greensville, SC where we had to stay for the next three nights while the generator was fixed. Traveling to the Greensville KOA took SEVEN HOURS of our family driving in blazing heat in the back of the RV because we had no generator. We had to cancel our reservations made months prior at the glorious Sesquicentennial State Park so that our generator could be fixed in Greenville, South Carolina where we were stuck from Tuesday - Friday. We were nice about it. SUNCOAST RV paid a whopping $197.86 for our three night stay there. YES, you read that right. Set them back less than $200 for the six of us to be stuck here for days... DAY TWO and The Rest of the Trip: The refrigerator door whips open ALL the Refrigerator contents flies out onto the floor, including the drawers as we exit from the interstate. This continues to happen REPEATEDLY throughout the entire 1500+ mile journey. Every time we go around a curve, someone has to jump up and hold the refrigerator door shut WHILE DRIVING ON THE ROAD, completely UNSAFE! This made for a very uneasy trip. We purchased a bungee cord to attempt to keep the refrigerator closed. (We told SUNCOAST RV right away). Then, WATER BEGINS POURING INSIDE the entire length of the RV EVERY TIME when drive. This was THE WORST! We got the maintenance man from the Greensville KOA we are staying at to take a look at this craziness and he said he had NEVER seen anything like it and looked quite perplexed. We called SUNCOAST RV TAMPA right away. They told us this is a manufacturer drain line problem. We are forced to use our clean towels to mop up the mess day in and day out, then wash and reuse our towels over and over again. The next thing - Water POURING on the OUTSIDE of our RV anytime we use the water inside the RV and we are alerted to this fact at every campsite by neighbors and the KOA management. Drain problems all around INSIDE and OUTSIDE of the RV. The temperature remains between 80º and 95° in back bedroom ALL DAY LONG - while the AC running. It gets cool enough to enjoy after 10pm only. It was miserable the entire trip, this could not be fixed. A baby monitor in that room told us the temp. so we knew EXACTLY what the temperature was. SUNCOAST RV told us via phone and text that there is an additional thermostat back there, which there wasn't and they verified this when we returned the vehicle and they noted how unusual it is for this size RV to NOT HAVE A SECOND AC UNIT! The electrician they hired in Greensville who came out twice to fix our generator made us a priority, the following day he texted us twice asking if we had heard from SUNCOAST RV because they were not responding to his invoice. Talk about awkward and uncomfortable! SUNCOAST RV told us after he is a scammer, along with everything else, it BECAME our problem! Every step of this trip we braced ourselves for the next issue. We expected to rent a FABULOUS RV from a reputable company, we certainly did the research, but instead it was a point of stress every single day and we had to then deal with SUNCOAST RV on these points of contention AFTER the trip! We felt they blamed us for their inferior RV rental. We felt they should compensate us for the incredible misery these RV problems presented us DAILY. We were charged $3422 and then received a whopping $329 refund and a $71 MILEAGE CREDIT for our trouble. We declined an additional $299 towards a future rental with them for obvious reasons.

What a great experience! We spent two weeks in an RV from Meacham's and it was a blast!…read more By booking in advance and paying in full, there was a substantial discount. And, due to the pandemic, the owner (Andrew Meacham) gave us a better cancellation policy than normal. When we first arrived after a day in the park, everything was set up. The camper was clean - very clean. (Andrew even assisted in contacting Fort Wilderness to change our space to one we had requested and didn't receive). We brought many items that were supplied - so don't pack towels, toilet paper, paper towels - these are all provided. There were also coffee filters, but I'm not sure if these are always supplied. I would highly recommend getting a camper with an outside kitchen - we used ours extensively. Even on days when using the Disney grill having the kitchen made it easier to store paper towels, plates, utensils and food. Next time we'll probably go for the deluxe camper. Meacham's length of stay Golf Cart deal is well worth it too. (We also rented a fire pit, but didn't really use it). We had some minor issues over the course of two weeks which Andrew promptly addressed. As for the campsites, I'd recommend a Premium site over a Preferred as the site is bigger and there is more privacy. Staying in an RV saves A LOT of $$ on food. We started our trip at POP Century and might have spent more on eating out in two days there than we did at two weeks in the camper. We cooked most of our meals, or prepared meals to bring to the parks. Fort Wilderness has a lot to offer. We visit Disney yearly and usually spend a day or two there. Having two full weeks really added to the enjoyment. Biking, canoeing, kayaking, fishing (we brought our own rods), swimming, horseback riding and more. Some activities that we've done in the past were not available due to the pandemic (motor boat rentals, the campfire program, wagon rides), but there's still lots to do. We did notice a significant increase in occupancy on weekends with many locals visiting. This did put a strain on the pools. Pools were nearly empty midweek. I highly recommend a stay in an RV at Fort Wilderness - and Meacham's is the way to go!
