General RV is the first and only RV lot that we have ever set foot on. We've been talking about getting a travel trailer for years, and decided to stop by to see what was available in used inventory. When we walked on the lot, we were expecting to deal with the typical "car salesman" trying to sell us something that we didn't need. Our salesman was not pushy, but very informative, sharing from his experience and taking the time to understand what we were looking for. After the purchase, we found a leak that did not get caught in the pressure-test (we found out about it the very evening that we brought the trailer home) and the Service Department was quick to resolve the issue. From our salesman to the staff that familiarized us with the trailer to the service representative that I was working with, and even the guy behind the counter at the store (I wound up substantially upgrading a purchase because I felt that I could trust his advice)... the people at General went out of their way to make sure that we were satisfied and were informed about the products or services that they were addressing with us. read more

Our salesman was professional, helpful, and top notch. everything went without a hitch until after the purchase was made. Then we had to deal with the service department. Our purchase was made November of 2025, and we have yet to travel with it. To begin with the 2 hour demo was a waste of time. The employee continually told us he didn't know how things worked in our RV because it wasn't like his. After 20 minutes of this, the 'demo' was stopped Because it was a waste of time, and not helpful. So, on to service to get a recall done, and the things that we pointed out to our salesman. To this day the recall isn't done because they don't have the part. They claim it hasn't been released by the Winnebago, and they also claim that it has been sent, but they have no tracking. So, really not quite sure of the reason. Also, the broken passenger seat won't be fixed because the salesman forgot to write it on the purchase paper. None of the latches on the doors outside are working correctly, one is broken, and it will be fixed at our expense of over $300. Had the demo gone according to plan, these latches would have been tested then. There are now two recalls, a broken latch, and stuck latches on the rest of the doors. We are 8 months into this, with 3 useless appointments where we took the RV for repairs that they claimed they had the parts for it, but they actually didn't, many talks with the service department manger, and a call to corporate that assured us action would be taken. We are now in July, summer half over, with a beautiful RV sitting in storage, and we are making payments each month for something we are not able to use because the one recall makes it not safe to drive until it is fixed. The day of purchase we were assured that recall would be done in the next couple of weeks. I guess 8, going on 9 months, seems reasonable to folks not needing it done. We do not recommend this place, unless you are able to get the parts and service your camper yourself. read more

They get you in with a low price then add in fees over 3 grand and tell you that all RV dealers do it! And I found that is not true! in fact I could not find another dealer that added the fees to the advertised price. read more

We bought !a used 2020 travel trailer from this place. Mistake 100%. It is on a permanent camp site. To start at the beginning the way that they create a deal is borderline unethical and should be illegal. I didn't read it because the way the deal closes is in the finance guy's office, signing on his cell phone. They hand you the folder and out the door you go. My stupidity for letting that go. Included in the final price was a DIE charge of $2600 which is supposed to be for a 200 point check to assure all systems are working. They delivered it on Monday and to be honest the delivery guy was excellent. I level it and went to crank down the stabilizer jacks and they were rusted to the point I had to use a 3/4" impact socket with a breaker bar to get them started. The Winegard tv antenna doesn't work. The black water tank gauge is reading 2/3 full. Either a bad sensor or the tank is 2/3 full. The fan in the bathroom doesn't work. The delivery process was a young got about 18 years old walked is through it while they were washing it off around 4 or 5 other campers. All that to say the $2600 fee I paid, which I didn't know I paid at the time, was a complete ripoff. They pocketed $2600 of my money for a 200 point inspection that obviously nobody did. I went back up today to explain it the situation and see what they could do to make it right. The offered me a $250 stare credit which I told them to stick up their ass and walked out the door for the last time. I will never go in there again and am going to tell everyone who'll listen to do the same. read more

5 yrs ago we bought a brand new Passport RV trailer. We had a new 2020 Dodge Ram. They sold us and installed a trailer hitch and stabilizer. It broke because it was wrong hitch. We are now getting the correct one and my fender underneath is broken beyond repair. I will NEVER trust them again. My son also had problems with them. Going elsewhere from now on. New hitch will be installed by professionals at Chucks Custom trailer in Medina. read more

The sales department treated us very well. Kristina was great. The service department leaves a lot to be desired. Very difficult To get them to call you back. Had a problem with the auto leveling system and they charged me to troubleshoot it and said everything worked within specs. Have only had the camper a week. I got home and it still will not auto level. I called to talk to my service advisor and they will not call back. They are more interested in taking your money than fixing the problem. This is evident because the first part of bringing it in is to explain to you your responsibility to pay and the rates they charge. ($225/hourWow). There are posters on the wall about you paying and possible mechanic leans. Nothing about providing customer service. I also had an appointment at 9:00 and they did not get the RV in until 12:30. Talking to others in the waiting area, everyone had similar experiences. read more

Over priced RV's with pushy sales staff. Put a 1,000 dollars down on and RV and was told there would be a positive outcome. Wasn't even away from the dealership for 30 seconds and the finance guy called and said sorry and then they didn't want to give back my 1,000 dollars I put down on the RV. I wish I could give zero stars. They sold me a $225,000 motorcoach filled with mold and think that's ok? They promised certain items were tested and to be functioning and they are not! They told me they'd work with me until the day I gave them proof with a mold report. They immediately told me to deal with their attorney. I am now battling a staph infection in my lungs!! I have an additional $7,000 in mold remediation and items that had to be thrown away. I still have to put flooring back in where all carpeting had to be removed. There were sewer flies throughout my water system. They came out of my water dispenser in the refrigerator and infested my food and freezer!! RUN FAST AND FAR FROM THIS HORRIBLE COMPANY. Our brand new Dutch Star was not ready when we arrived to pick it up, and we walked into both an engine DEF warning light problem and the powered shades inside of the motorhome did not function in the kitchen and living room. Our disappointment was beyond words. But we are still very impressed at how Greg, Dave, Rodney, Linda and Joey went out of their way to make things right and to make us and our 2 giant cats comfortable. ABSOLUTE WORST DEALER!!! PLEASE READ IF YOU ARE A POTENTIAL BUYER! LONG BUT WORTH THE READ! We bought our camper (3rd one) sight unseen, from North Canton location. We knew it was the layout that we were looking for and could not find that same layout closer to us in Pittsburgh. Connor our salesman did a FaceTime video of the unit once it arrived. Very clean on the inside with no issues. Not the same on the outside. They played the game that there were other eyes on it and we would have to put down $5,000 to hold it. So we did hold it with $2,000 down. The advertised price was $21,999. Then they added a $2000 prep fee, which is unjustifiable. The only thing they did to this camper was clean the awning. We could've done that a lot cheaper ourselves. The gentleman that did the demo didn't know how the thermostat worked, my husband basically had to show him. The sheet on the bed, the previous owner must have left on and it was spotted. You would think they would've taken that off. I believe they didn't because they were hiding marks on the mattress or once again no one even cleaned the inside. Here are the items we addressed on the outside and think for $2000 we should not have had to address them? Some taken care of, some not. Again, Chris the manager was not willing to negotiate. Stopper behind door was missing, screw exposed, they did put a stopper on. Two of the four tires were bigger than the other two, Chris said he has to go with what his service guy tells him. My nephew owns a tire shop. My husband also knows tires very well. After driving two hours to get back home, my nephew took off the tires, all four belts were broken. Thank goodness, we didn't need the spare because that was in worse shape than the tires. Where is their concern for safety? Whichever service guy said those tires were fine should be fired. The tires were from 2018. It was a 2019 camper. Right arm on awning bent, we were told by a very rude serviceman that even the new RV's have the same issue. PLEASE, REALLY??? Also, awning had a rip at the top and was taped. Again, no negotiating. There was a missing part for the stabilizer. Connor said it was on order only to find out later that the gentleman from service told us he would order it, (thought it was on order). We now must put that on ourselves. Missing cap on the bumper storage tube, they did replace that. Screws were missing on the cover and the front of the camper where the leveling power button is. Fortunately, they had screws and did replace that. I understand that there is a prep fee for $2000 but I would love to know what they did for $2000 when we had ourselves had to address all of these issues. The most frustrating is that we've had to put on four new tires when they knew those tires were bad. After emails to Corporate and phone calls, no resolution only to be told that they have denied the claim and that is the final decision. I would never recommend the General Rv or the North Canton General RV center. I highly doubt that Chris or the serviceman that said the tires were fine would have driven two hours with those tires. Yes, we had our choice to not buy the camper but at that point they had our $2000 and we really liked the layout. Also, Chris had set the price at $24,918 without even seeing the camper. So when we addressed the issues he was not willing to negotiate Please corporate do not respond to this email by apologizing and telling me how you understand my frustrations, and how I can reach out to you, which I have already done and you or the location have done nothing to resolve the issues. Only to tell me that the final decision has been made to not reimburse of for the tires. The follow ups to other reviews should have told me from the get-go that I should not deal with that location. I do take blame. I did not do my due diligence and read the reviews which I always do before buying a product. Lesson learned! I am not sure what the issue is with General RV Center. I have had two service calls with them. Had the same consultant both times. Both times all services were completed as requested save one item which was more than they could handle. I appreciate their honesty and work ethic. The service rep worked on his day off and late to make sure things were corrected. Alan Azar did a great job determining what was needed to be addressed as well as taking care of issues that arose during the process. Having been in the RV world for over 45 years, people expect their RV should be like their daily driver. Remember folks. GM, Ford, Chrysler and all the other manufacturers make millions of vehicles each year and they still have problems. Problems they fail to resolve time and time again. As you should understand RV's are manufactured in considerably smaller quantities and are basically hand built. There are bound to be more issues with these coaches and often much harder to find because of their uniqueness to each coach. We often dump serious problems in their laps with very sketchy information provided by us owners. Do your homework and try to identify the problem and or solution looking to them for concurrence and the ultimate repair. With abilities we now have as owners we can make clear and often correct determinations of what we need only looking for agreement from your repair tech or installation shop. Give these people a break. I don't believe any of them take on a project with the thought in mind that they are going to fail. When they have issues we need to understand the reality of the situation. They see every manufacture's coaches with some good ones and some really poor ones. They are placed in the position to keep all types and sizes in complete operating mode. It is certainly not an easy task. General RV in my book tries as hard to repair or resolve issues as any I have seen. To that I have given them 5 stars which I believe they deserve. read more

Yet again, this business has had my RV two MONTHS for repairs. Doug has not returned our phone calls and messages. We were stranded traveling for several months while waiting the entire time for a bed part (electronic bed slide) part to be drop shipped to us. Never got the part and we had to lift the mattress each time we moved the RV and hot wire the bed to move. Our fridge rolled out on us traveling and it was supposedly repaired. Doug in service does not follow up nor order and stay on top of parts ordered. Two months and now I have an emergency situation and need my rv to travel to another state to live out of while my vacation home is being remodeled from a sewer back up. No return calls!!!!!! This is absolutely embarrassing for a business to be this bad. read more

We had a great experience with General RV. We bought a $13,000 used camper and they treated us like we bought a $1M motorhome. No Exaggeration! My wife and I have owned a motorhome and two campers in the past and we knew exactly what we wanted (size, layout, weight, and price). Every person we talked to listened and was interested in making sure we got exactly what we were looking for!! From the internet salesperson, the salesperson in Tampa FL, our salesperson Canton OH (the dealership closer to home and where we ended up buying), the receptionist at the door waiting on us with VIP passes, the gentleman running the service/delivery department, the finance manager, the young man that helped us hook-up, and especially the very knowledgeable young lady that gave us the demo. Avoid at all costs. We have had nothing but horrible experiences after buying our first unit. The first time was fine, no issues. We went back to trade in a unit and the nightmare began. We waited for 3 months to get our unit, which was fine. I called in to check the status a couple times so I could coordinate the pickup of our trade. I forgot a piece of information so I called back. My saleman, let's call him "D" picks up the phone and I hear him say "Jesus Christ, now what?" and he proceeds to act mad for having to talk. He wasn't even there on delivery day. Then they did the paperwork wrong and we had to go redo it. We had the motorhome for 2 weeks, and noticed a water leak on the rear floor when we use the shower. We took it back, missed a week camping only to be told they can't find it. We took the camper back, and continued to have a problem with a leak. Then that fall we took it in for winterization and their phones went down...we didn't hear anything for 3 WEEKS. Again, I asked them to look for the leak, and again, they couldn't find it. Our warranty would be up by spring when it was brought out of storage, they assured us it would be covered since it was pre-existing. Spring comes, they tell me, "oh, we found a loose fitting, it's fixed". We took it back to the campground...and it leaked again. A couple of weeks later, we notice the air isn't blowing very cold, so we take it in and they assure us it's fine, "The coil probably froze up" they say. Fast forward 2 weeks and we're in Kansas where the temp is 87 at night...no a/c. I call the next day and leave a message, two days later they call and ask if I can bring it in that day...uh, no, we're in Colorado. I took it in when we got back because we also needed an estimate for some damage that happened to our awning when we were on the trip. , and found out the a/c unit was bad. They ordered one and we waited 6 weeks, but supply chain or whatever...I get it. They replaced it when it came in. I was STILL waiting on an estimate to fix the awning...three phone calls later, my advisor gives me an estimate without ANYONE LOOKING AT IT. I told her there were things on there that didn't need replaced and she said it wasn't a problem, she would take them off. They sent me an estimate and I sent that to my agent. They issued me a check and told me to get it fixed whenever. We decided to wait until fall when we get it winterized. My old advisor had since left and we were given to a new one, we'll call her "M". M calls me twice on the phone in September about my appointment in November and wants to know when the insurance company is sending them a check. I explained that they paid me and I would pay for the repair. November comes around and I take in the truck. She shows me an estimate for $1400 more than the original. I notice that the parts we didn't need fixed were still on there (a door with a 3" scratch and side stickers that have no marks). I pointed it out and M says 'You ordered the parts, and we have to put them on or YOU'RE committing insurance fraud." I was stunned. I left and called my agent who advised me they would handle it. I got at least three more calls from M arguing with me trying to get me to pay $1400 or they would "turn you in to the insurance company". She also stated that they were either replacing the parts, or I was paying for them and taking them with me because they can't return unused parts...I never paid a deposit for parts, I never asked for anything to be ordered...I figured they would do it when the camper got there. I asked for a service manager to call me and didn't get a call for 2 weeks. I gave the manager my original estimate via email, and he acknowledged that it was their fault and we wouldn't be charged for the parts they didn't use. He apologized and I thought all was well. M calls back and says "we can't do the winterizations because there is a bad check valve"...it wasn't expensive or covered by our warranty plan, so I said fix it. I went to pick it up, pay my bill and ask, "Is this everything?", M says "Yes, we took care of the winterization out of goodwill". I leave and take my motorhome with me. Fast forward to today, three weeks later in December...M calls and says "You still owe $350 for the winterization and the check valve". I said "I thought you took care of that?" and she says, "I never said that"... This place is garbage. Avoid at all costs. They will treat you great to get your money, and then throw you to a circus of inept employees that seem to last a month and leave. There is no accountability or any attempt at customer service. I thought other people must just be lying or just a-holes to deal with, that's why they get that treatment at the dealer...NOPE. I spent $33K for a trailer and the said they were going to replace the battery that was dead and they didn't, they tried to claim they did, you could easily look at the battery leads and tell it wasn't a new battery. They also said they were going to fill the propane tanks on the trailer, they didn't. One was completely empty and the other had maybe half a tank. The electric heating element was also burnt out and not replaced either. This place is just not that ethical in their service. If you don't want to replace things just DON'T say you're going to replace it. Also trying to get a hold of ANYONE on the phone is almost impossible. read more

I bought my camper at the RV show. I was given a price, but no paperwork. I was told I would get paperwork when I went I. to sign papers for my new camper in the store. I thought the initial price was high, but I also knew I had added on a couple of items. after I got home, and going over paperwork, I noticed I was charged a significant amount more for my new camper. the upgrades were not in the price but listed below. I had called, and the explanation that I was given was, those were fees for pick up and delivery. they advertised free delivery. the charges were $6,000 plus the agreed price. read more

Our visit to General RV North Canton in September started out great. Salesman was great. We agree to purchase a Coachmen class C. While going through financing we agree to some add ons. Schedule delivery for 2 weeks out. We had a 10am appointment for Saturday delivery. We arrive and start our walk through. All was going well until we asked about out add ons. Nothing had been done. They ask if we can wait and they'll take care of it then. We were there until 5pm (we live 2.5 hours from general Rv) only for everyone to be rushing us out, the door wouldn't lock and they blamed on seal being too new. Then we did not even receive a full tank Of gas. We went camping 3 weekends in a row and then called to schedule service for all issues found. A list of 17 items. They called after 2.5 weeks saying all is done. We drive the 2.5 Hours to pick up and the first major issue we dropped off with, batteries dead after sitting for a few days and can't start generator, was not fixed! We were told we'd be reimbursed for gas for travel we were denied when picking up today after them having it for 7 weeks! Many other shady dealings with them. I would avoid General RV at all costs. We purchased our camper here in 2020. This past year we had some flood damage and took it to their service department to have it fixed. We dropped our camper off in January 2022. It is still not fixed after 5 months. They have not even touched it since we took it in. Even worse, they admitted that and were not sorry. Purchased a Morryde cargo tray (48x90) and riser kit from the store at the Hershey RV show on 9/25/23 which was supposed to be transferred to the Canton Ohio store. Had to email Morryde for help when I couldn't get an ETA from GRV. Finally after help from the Morryde rep I found that the PA store had the tray but it took up til 10/25 to get to the Canton location. Went to pick it up and they didn't know it was there, when they did find it they couldn't locate the riser kit. Both the PA and the Ohio store are real bad on returning phone calls. After I get the balance of my order I won't be a returning customer. read more

Would give zero stars if that was an option. This is the worst company we've dealt with in 68 years of life. We bought a brand new RV from them and they treated us very well, up until we owned it. Since then, they treat us like worthless fools. Service department is unresponsive, unavailable, and incompetent. Issues that they "addressed" (plumbing under sink keeps falling apart, awning won't close fully, etc) continue to be NOT FIXED. Our first "service advisor" was clueless, lied to us repeatedly, and never answered phone or e-mail messages. He was thankfully fired. They de-winterized our RV but parts of it weren't de-winterized and we had water pouring out of places where they left valves in open positions and we had to figure all of that out on our own. Appointments for service are at least a month away and they simply don't care if that's a problem. Our list of frustrations goes well beyond this limited review, but we are DONE with this so-called company. They're making money on their large inventory sales, and then turning their backs on the people they sell to. Pathetic and infuriating. BUY/go somewhere else! read more

This is one of the worst companies I have every dealt with we bought a brand new B+ rv problems with drawers not opening and closing screen not fitting slide motor broke the first trip home , alarm on the stabilizer jack going off none stop this is one hour after we went done the road on the first trip home from dealer. Took back gave them 2 weeks to fix the problems. Assured it was fixed numerous times in that 2 weeks and come pick it up. Got a call 3pm on a Saturday before we are picking it up nothing done. they ordered wrong parts. Now we bought this in June 2024 we just received one of the parts we need delivered to our home yesterday August 29th 2024. Drawers not fixed they sent me new drawer slides for me to change but the only sent half of the part they are useless. this is three months. Service is totally useless, ZERO communication from anyone there after they get your money. Buy anywhere else. NOT HERE! read more

We came here just to check out some trailers. We didn't intend to buy but got an awesome deal on a near new travel trailer. We left and I read reviews on here and wondered if we made a bad choice. We bought the trailer and they were so awesome to us. Morgan spent a good amount of time going over the whole trailer with us since we are newbie's. Lou in finance made sure to get us the financing we wanted and kept our payment low. They were very thorough and made sure to let us know they would help us if we had more questions. I'd give negative 's if I could. We purchased our new 2023 Class B Camper/Van from General Rv in Canton Ohio in July, for a cross country trip we had planned in August. We've had nothing but problems with both the camper and the General RV dealership from the start. The battery died, and had to be replaced, before we even left the driveway. The solar panel didn't work and has to be replaced. The generator didn't work. The water pump leaked water all over the floor. The track on the screen door was bent. One of the drawers was broken and wouldn't stay closed. It has been stressful and frustrating because all of these issues could've been avoided if they'd done a thorough inspection prior to us driving it off the lot. Customer service is awful and indifferent. We live an hour away from the dealership, yet they are horrifically unaccommodating with regard to dropping off and picking up your vehicle. They won't keep it while waiting for the parts they ordered to come in, so we had to make the 120 mile 2 hour round trip to pick it up, only to have to do it all over again when the parts come in. Also, we were told we couldn't do it on Saturday, so my husband has to leave work early every time. Avoid General RV! read more

Bought toy hauler 3 years ago. Paid good sum for Cornerstone Warrenty. Had a few minor things break down. General charges $250 per item to "evaluate" whether its is COVERED! They did not mention that when I bought the extended Warrenty. So 5 small items will cost $1250 just to look at it, not fix it, just to look at it and see if Warrenty applies. Bought a brand new trailer, awning broke on second use and here we are 7 months later they won't service it, won't take care of it, hard to even get a response from them. I was quoted $547 to have a hitch and woring harness installed on my work van. After dropping it off, they they called me and informed me the price nearly trippled (over $1300). They refused to honor the price given upon scheduking, the owner has made me out to be a liar at this point. If your looking for intergrity amd customer service, you wont fond it here. I didnt get so mich as a sinsere apology, let alone services rendered at the agreed upon price. read more

We purchased our first motor home from General RV in North Canton, Ohio on October 6, 2023. This is a used 2016, and we knew we bought it as is. We did find a couple items we wanted fixed prior to taking ownership, and General RV corrected them. After taking the motor home out a few times, we found some problems that we felt could be safety hazards - problems with the electric and the furnace. We called General RV and were very blessed to have Justin in Service be assigned to our issues. We setup an appointment for a week later, and Justin went over all of our concerns. Not only did they cover the repairs that we had found, but they also found a couple additional items that they fixed as well. We could not have had a better experience. Justin was very professional and friendly, and he kept us informed of what was going on. We were leaving on a camping trip two days later, and he made sure we were able to enjoy our motor home one last time before winter hits. read more
