There are pro's and con's for Camping World. Biggest PRO!! They have hundreds of rv's, I'm sure if you are looking for a specific RV this is the right place. That is why I gave them a three star. Con's - I felt unwelcome at the front desk. I simply stated I wanted to walk the lot and look at rv's with no pressure. I stated if I found something I will let them know. I don't think that they liked that. I completely understand their point of view of wanting to assign a specific sales person as you walk in. Some people do not like high pressure sales. I did not receive a good welcome and got a side eye... lol. I let that go and did not allow that interaction ruin my day. When I came back in, I had a great big smile and said hi, the lady rolled her eyes and turned her face. I guess they were not having a good day. I bought a springdale keystone mini. It has been in the shop more than I got to use it the first year. Problems from get go. Brought it home couldn't get in it. Had to take it back so they could adjust something or so later door was sticking real bad when we tried to open it with the key. Took back in they replaced the lock. We turned the air on water ran down the wall got floor soaked. Took back in the drain holes weren't lined up correctly. Again had it in the shop to get fixed. Was time for winter and we winterize it. Drained the anti freeze put water in the holding tank and water was pouring out around the tankless water heater. Back to the shop again. It was the water release valve. I had bought an extended warranty so it was covered. After I paid a 75 dollar deductible and shipping rate for the part that needed replaced. Now I'm finally using my rv open the awning and there's tiny holes looking like it could just tear. I give up! I am tired of taking it back in to service again. They said well first year is the toughest till you get all the bugs worked out. I would think brand new rv should not have this many bugs. I wish I would of bought an older rv from a private owner. Something for everyone to think about. Or maybe buy brand new and have the aggravation that I have had. Oh yes and more thing my table wobbles back and forth ridiculously. But they say oh it's like that because it can be made into a bed. I have had campers for many years and never ever had a table wobble back and forth like this one and they also made a bed. liked our salesman , great guy. How ever we had a back up camera that we purchased from their store that they installed. The camera gives you three views right left rear. The left side is the only camera that has worked. I've explained this to them on multiple occasions.they wanted me to bring it back in, but I live over 100 miles . I waited a few months to make this review to abate my emotions. I would advise to not go here. Go to any place that offers a grace period post-purchase (e.g., Streetsboro) I purchased a Travel Trailer for over 17K (10K actual value). 4 days after purchase, my mother had a severe medical episode. I couldn't keep the trailer since I had to move in with her to be her caregiver, and you cant fit a Travel trailer in an apartment. Camping World took advantage of this situation. They refused to offer me anything more than $8500 (50%). I tried to sell it elsewhere, but could not store it for longer than a week. The trailer was absolutely mint. Perfect, like new, condition. I fully informed them that due to a family emergency I would have to relinquish the trailer. They did not care. Park Bank helped me. Camping World did not help me in any way. They even charged me a $200 pickup fee to come get the trailer. Then, they had the nerve to hassle me to contact the bank to release the title. Absolutely zero compassion, but bravo on the ruthless capitalism. A real boon for them, they get to sell a trailer twice. I cant say how disappointing it is that Camping World saw my tragedy and decided to take full advantage. I have since learned that there are other (3) dealers near and around them (within 25 mile radius), whom all offer differing grace periods from 3-7 days after purchase to "undo" that sale if undamaged. I wish I could leave a NEGATIVE star. Hatfield saves this place and he is the ONLY one. He was amazing. Everything after that is horrible. We had shown hundreds of pictures of the work we did on our trade-in (10 years old) and they were well aware of the age and condition. We completed the sale to be taken out and screamed at like children. Taken into the office afterward accusing us of lying and screaming at us. They had offered us $13,000 on trade and told us we needed to pay them $6,000 AFTER THE SALE was completed. They had this trade in for 4 hours and not one word was said. Only a few days later did they list my trade in (the one they said was so horrible I had to pay them more afterward) for $22,999. And it SOLD!!!!!! Then when we sent an email with much much more that happened, corporate called us and said it was their word against ours and who are they to say who's fault it was. All said and done, we were screamed at to pay them more money AFTER the sale was completed and signed and they were angry I wasn't paying them a penny. THEY MADE 9K AS IT WAS LISTED!!!!!! We will never return to this camping world. If something isn't fixed, then we won't be going to any of the other camping worlds either.... Where to start.....let's start with if you are considering a new or used camper PLEASE! PLEASE! do not go to Camping World of Akron. The could possibly be the shadiest dealership I have ever dealt with. This my 10th camper I have purchased, and my first and last time with Camping World of Akron. Let's start with my trade in....haul my camper up to the lot, offered 13k. Came back the next day to do paperwork on my new camper, and was told by salesman (Rob) that they were going to sell the trade in as a handymans special for 7500.00 and could only give us 5k because there were so many issues. I should have pulled it off the lot right then, but mistakenly believed him and the sales manager. We'll 3 days later it is now on their website for 22k. Just so you know it is a 2018 Keystone Bullet. I don't even know how these guys look themselves in the mirror everyday. My new camper had noted issues during the walk through, and we were promised they would all be fixed, they were not and still have not. How do you pay a 2500.00 inspection fee and have no heat coming out of your ducts. Cleanliness was HORRIBLE, also noted and not addressed. There's more, but I'm over it at this point. Camping World of Akron, you can save the cookie cutter responses about Careteams and Serviceteams, been there done that, over it. We have contacted the BBB and your CEO, not that it matters to you. There will be a time when individuals at Camping World of Akron will be sworn in and have to tell the truth....we will see if the lies continue then. **** I'm sure it's not the experience you would expect, however it is happening. Started off poor with advertising pricing on the website showing $12k, then we get there and they said "oh that is the national pricing and we actually don't go by it our price is $14k so it includes all the fees, etc. right off the bat" ..... Felt a little bait and switch, but okay we were really eager to get a camper and wanted to do it this day so we kept moving forward. Then after being there for 8 hours we finally get to speak with finance and somehow all theses fees are added in addition to the $14k. (thought those were already rolled in?!?)....Offered a measly $100 off for military discount, then now looking back at my paper work they didn't even include it in the final price even though its listed on the side. Asked what $1200 RP line item is and they said it was for "prepping" the unit like plugging in the battery, etc.....Finance manager was unprofessional calling her family member in the middle of our meeting (after we had already been sitting in the dealership for 8 hours) asking her about her family members that had similar last name as us. I would like to say the only positive experience we had was with the gentleman who did a walk through of the camper for us before we left. He seemed very knowledgeable and gave us helpful information. read more

I was skeptical to shop at Camping World based on former visit. However, Andrew Michaels was awesome to work with. I had found a camper online plus others. He took the time to show us all of them. We found we loved. Negotiated the price. We showed up pick up day. Unfortunately it took over 3 hours but not all bad. Jim Hatfield in finance was good. Bill Vaughn our walk thru guide was great. We had a hitch issue and they got a tech out immediately and fixed it. We we're actually very happy except it took way too long to walk thru and get in finance. read more

After asking the receptionist about speaking with a salesman, we were told that as soon as he was off the phone, he'd be right with us. As his Very Important Phone Call stretched into fifteen minutes, we decided to show ourselves around. After forty-five minutes had elapsed and he was still speaking with the Very Important Person on his Very Important Telephone Call, we showed ourselves the door. Ok so my sister Charlene has had this camper for a little over a year and now the furnace doesn't work and it blows breakers CONSTANTLY. Derek, our salesperson was great. The company itself is shady! I purchased a travel trailer from them on a Friday, I had my down payment and monthly payment given to me. Received congratulatory emails on my purchase. 5 days after I purchased, CW called me to tell me my monthly payment was changed to DOUBLE what we had agreed upon. I immediately asked why and demanded my deposit back. I contacted corporate and filed a complaint. They called me and told me that bc I had numerous bankruptcies my monthly payment DOUBLED and "you were a very nasty woman". BOTH OF WHICH ARE LIES! Bill Vaughn and Hatfield were awesome. However the rest of our experience was poor enough we will not return. The salesmen never came out to thank us or walk us through,. We checked in and went right to do the paperwork then with technician for walk through. Our unit was filthy at pickup time and we scheduled a week in advance, and had a reminder call the day prior. Was told 30 mintues paperwork 45 minutes walkthru We were there 2.5 hours teh first time and had to leave without our new camper it was still filthy and damaged items. Went back 3 hours later - was cleaner, but still wasn't done and damaged items werent fixed. Sat and waited for our sales rep for 25 minutes - never came. here to find out he was off and someone else was suppose to come out. Very poor experience. Another hour wasted. They were very disorganized, no respect of our time nor appreciation of our business. There is still gum on the garage floor. We left with the new camper. They'll have to deliver the replacement parts that are damaged and we'll do it ourselves. Hopefully we do not find more issues in the spring when we start to use it! It was already winterized and we had wanted to see it all operate properly then winterize it. Poor communication throughout the organization. read more

We drove 100 miles to look at campers to follow a salesman to a lot 15 minutes away to walk through mud and overgrown weeds to not even be able to Look at the campers we wanted to see because they were parked so close to each other that you couldn't even open the steps to get in them! Horrible way to do business I feel bad for your salesmen that lose commission due to it. Also before you put campers on the lot that people can see you should probably fix the falling down trim and wall tape that fell off it's a huge turnoff. read more

We brought home a 22 Ozark FR 1650BHK on 2/22/22 a couple days later I noticed water on the nightstand so I got on the roof and seen the seals had a gap and the water has now warped our roof.. it's under warranty but won't be looked at for a month to than summit paperwork for an approval for repair. So I'm assuming we are looking at a few months for the entire process. I have asked to exchange the unit but they state that's not possible. Please everyone do your research there are lots of dealerships out there don't buy from camping world. I know the dealership does not make the camper the manufacturer does.. but camping world told me the unit passed inspection by a tech and now they are putting me on the back burner. I could give them a negative rating I would. We purchased an RV in Jan 2021, we have yet to use it without a MAJOR issue. We paid the $1000.00 to have it checked over before we took it off the lot (not sure why we had to pay $1k for a vehicle that should already have been checked before it was sold). The $1k was supposed to be a further service check to guarantee the RV was ready to take off the lot. Don't pay it. We have had NUMEROUS problems with the generator not working, The gas tank was for the wrong model (therefore wrong size...not one mechanic noticed?) so we had to have another mechanic zip tie it up to increase the gas flow until we got back to Akron service (we could only use 20 gallons of gas on a 55 gallon tank). The flooring was not tacked down and the slide out ripped it up the first time out. The carburetor was supposed to be the issue for the generator not working. We had it serviced but only to find out while we were across the country that the service dept in Akron never changed the carburetor. Now we are in a national heat wave, no generator, no air, no way to make food, cancelling our vacation and trying to find a service area. Many, MANY more issues followed that led up to today...the Akron service dept called and said it was fixed yet AGAIN (it is an hour drive for us). We drive there to find out the gas tank is still zip tied, the generator still does not work, the floor was not acceptable AND when we asked for our $1000 to be refunded...we were told that $1000 only insured the RV was working the DAY it was purchased on the lot. It did not provide any type of guarantee...not even for the issues we pointed out AFTER it was supposed to have been rechecked for the $1k. We were going to take the RV and leave today after driving an hour to pick it up, and were told we are not allowed to take it off the lot without paying for the service...the service that was NOT provided. I wish we would have researched the service center of Camping World as much as we did the type of RV to purchase. $$$$'s spent on an RV we haven't had a single good trip in, and the absolute worst service I have ever had. read more

Worst experience ever. My fiancé and I went there yesterday to purchase a camper. We walked in, he went to the restroom I waited by the front desk. The lady sitting there nor the salesman standing there greeted me. My fiancé came out of the restroom we walked through the showroom to the back lot, and walked around the back lot for 30 mins. Still no salesman came out to greet us or assist us with any thing. We walked back through the show room that is when the lady at the front desk asked how we were doing. I said freezing because we have been walking around your lot for 30 mins. waiting for a salesman to approach us and nothing.. she asked what kind of camper we were looking for.. I said no worries I will just help myself since your sales staff seems to busy to help people. Mind you the showroom at that time only had 2 couples looking at campers. We went out front to look at a few sitting out there. My fiancé said he wanted to go inside and talk to someone.. I went to the truck. He texted me to come inside because they had another lot where their fifth wheels are located. So I went in. But while sitting there talking to Bob the salesman, he informed us that he couldn't go to the 2nd lot with us because he was the only available sales staff.. so we went up alone to look. What was funny we were up there not even 5 mins when he comes up in his truck with an older couple with him. So you pushed us off to take care of them. My fiancé is a car salesman. We know what to look for and I'm sorry you guys totally failed. And lost our business. All because you prejudged us. Because he was wearing jeans and a hoody. read more

BAD Service and Worse Communication from the Service Department. In Early February 2023, I scheduled to bring my camper in for service. I knew of 2 issues that needed to be looked at. Low Level water lines and a leak on the top of the Galley tank. The camper was dropped off on February 10th. I didn't hear anything until February 23rd from the service rep. At that time I was told the Black Tank had a leak now. ($900 to replace). I asked about the original problems and was told they were fixed. The next communication I got was the next day where I was again told the Black Tank needs replaced and it would cost an additional $235. I asked what my total bill was at this time and was told it was $1500 before tax. Once month later (March 20,2023) I contacted the service department, and was ignored. I never heard back from Anyone. Every time I was told, "Let me check on that and I'll call you right back." NO Calls. No Communications. THEY NEVER Originated any Communication without me calling to find out what's going on. It is now 2 months later, and I am told they broke the seals connecting the Black Tank and needed me to pay an additional $250 to "Order" the parts. I was also told that there was a leak in the Galley Tank and Low Level lines.....The ORIGINAL Problem I brought it in for and was told they were fixed. I had scheduled a campout 6 months ago, and am now told I will not have my camper for that Non-Refundable reservation. IF I get my camper back in any kind of usable condition, I will not be returning for Service at this Camping World in Akron, Ohio. Even with the Good Sam Elite Membership, it will be MUCH more cost effective to either drive to Dayton or PA. If I want to use their service. I have another Campout scheduled for May. I don't expect to see my camper in any usable condition then either. Update: 4/13/2023 Par for the course, 95% of the problem is "I" have to initiate Communication. Their reply below wants ME to call Them. They should be contacting ME for resolution. read more

We bought our camper in May 2021, right off the bat things broke, I've been trying to get in for customer service, It takes 2 to 4 months to get an appointment, we want to use our camper in between. I called to get an early appointment for April 2023 now, she said bring it in and it will be put in a 4 week rotation before they even look at it, we bought the extended warranty they have to submit that and it'll take a few weeks longer and then up to 6 weeks to get the parts. We can take the camp back in between. We've owned campers before and I've never had this awful experience of trying to get it fixed in a timely manner! I will never buy a camper from them again. Customer service needs an overhaul. STORE: I found some items in the store, but couldn't get the lesser price (to save $10) without a club card. Women said it was only $27/yr. I told her I live 45min away and would never use it. She then pointed out the $50/yr membership. What? Why would I want to go up in cost? She started to explain the advantages of $50. I said never mind - left the items. As I am walking away -she continues to tell me why its a good deal. Even when I am 10 step away... shes still talking. clueless. SHOWROOM: friend was getting info regarding what he was interested in. Planning on purchasing 4-6mos from now. Just wanted to look at park models. The salesman could not tell us where they were on the lot. He stated since they got back from the RV show everything was all over the lot. Real? I doubt that you would just park all the RV in disarray order. I think because we were not buying right now he didn't want to help us. I had an issue with the hot water heater and coach heater combo not working. Called manufacture of unit and with their help was able to diagnose the issue, was told it needs main computer board and it is stock could be shipped next day. just to note I am ASE master auto technician and I did have my tools with me. I was on vacation when it quit, called Camping world 3 weeks before I would be home so I could have veh repaired when I was back home, Took RV in as scheduled, was told will be looked at within the week. Phone back a week and 1/2 later to check. Was told has not been looked at yet? This was after 4 weeks after I made the appointment. Called back week later was told they looked at it but unable to find part supplier. I called the supplier and was told they only sell to Winnebago dealers, camping world is not, nor was I told as I did buy this when I bought it used from then with 5,000 miles on it. Called customer service and went over this issue and stated I would pick up RV and take it to a authorized repair shop. Bottom line they did get the part, they had to pay for it with a credit card 1st. when I picked up RV it still did not work correctly, spent 3 hours in parking lot with service as they tried to complete the repairs. That is 48 days in shop and 33 of them working days, labor to repair was 3.5 hrs. an did not need diagnostic as it had been done and I gave them the case number from the manufacture. I would have to say this is not the fault of the mechanics but all the people above them. From the service, service writer, manager, and owner. Service should not have accepted the job as they do not know how to work on this model 2019 59K Winnebago. I just wish I had read more of the yelp reviews other then the 1st one as this may not have happen? read more

Service Techs could use better training and have a little pride in their work!!!!!!!! We bought a 2022 zinger in March of 2022. When early summer came and the weather turned HOT and we were packing the camper for a trip we found various problems with our camper. These were all manufacturing/warranty problems so we felt good about getting them fixed. Our shower wall seals were coming loose along the front seam and even bowing at one spot like it was sliding down the wall, our bedroom and bathroom door frames where also pulling away from the wall and the bedroom one was bowed so bad the door couldn't shut. We had eight items that needed fixed and they only fixed three but all were marked complete. And our shower was a disgrace. So we left it to be completed and then they delivered it to our house with no paperwork or chance to have a discussion about the work. Our shower is a little better but looks like my 11 year old grandson fixed it, and I don't think they touched the bathroom door frame and my bedroom door was worked on but still bowed and door still doesn't shut and now it's all bent at the bottom. So now it's worse than it was. This was all warranty worked so they don't care because they get paid no matter what and it's not their $50,000.
