Generations is a bit pricey, but the food is always excellent. I've never gotten better crab cakes anywhere!

The Pizza Fries. These fried dough "egg rolls" contain pepperoni and cheese and are served with a most excellent red dipping sauce. They used to be called Pizza Fryes which was a take on the Historical Dude Founder's name. The Wedding Soup was also a favorite. It was loaded with meatballs and all the other goodness wedding soup has. I had a bowl because I knew it would be good. The pizza wasn't my favorite, but I was already kinda full from the other stuff too, so it didn't get a fair chance. I was kinda bummed they didn't use pasta as a straw. So much fun drinking that way. Love the extra carbs, but I can understand why they went with regular straws. They still serve soda pop in mason jars though. Be Excellent to Each Other! And enjoy your trip to The Italian Oven.

Delicious Italian Comfort Food…read more The food here is really good in this Family Style Italian Restaurant. I visited on a Friday night and was seated quickly. Entrees come with salad and fresh bread. I ordered the Stromboli Deluxe and my wife ordered the Chicken Marsala. Both dishes were delicious and the portions were large. This is very good Italian food and the prices are fair. The restaurant itself is a bit old, but it was clean. The restaurant's decor could really use a refresh, and the men's room needs an overhaul. This is a nice place to eat.

It seemed like an average restaurant. I did greatly appreciate them taking notice of my seating preference. I noted when booking that it was for a birthday and when I called in advance they said they give a complimentary dessert with such. Unfortunately, this was missed and nothing was given after dinner. Service was average. The food options weren't vast and were extremely pricey. So I was hoping for amazing food. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. The complimentary bread and sauce was average. The chicken parm was not. Olive Gardens tastes better. I really hope this resort can spruce up the food options. Food is very important when visiting any place and can make or a break a facility. Especially by adding more ethnically diverse places with flavor to eat. Even if the ambience/environment isn't as nice, I love visiting hole in the wall places with extraordinary food. Unfortunately, this was not it.

Our server was so friendly and passionate as he walked us through the menu. We were there in July so we started with their Summer peach burrata salad, then tried the duck ragu, and got one of their beautifully plated desserts. Overall I thought all the food was delicious. The duck ragu could have used a bit more seasoning though. But, between the vibe of the patio, the wonderful service, and the thoughtful presentation of everything, it really was a wonderful dinner.

Here you can observe some of the local elites, tossing their blonde fake tresses and drinking expensive champagne while making sure everyone sees their brand spanking new Louis Vuittons and huge bosoms, and then there is the much more subtle and respectable old money clientele with their exquisite tailoring, indulging in one of the lovely Cabernets served here. And the Cabernet is lovely. The escargot is glorious, it is served with a little toasty roll that you use to dip up that glorious garlic sauce in the serving dish. I had the dover sole, which was straight in from, you guessed it, Dover! ;' ) I had it with fresh broccolini and parmesan risotto. G had sea bass with lobster risotto. Both dishes were cooked beautifully, the fish is flaky and light and the risotto were perfect. Our server Cody, who is absolutely wonderful by the way, tried to tempt us with desserts (one of which was a caramel hot lava cake!) but we were so full from dinner that we had to decline. Next time perhaps. And there will be a next time. PS: this is not the sort of place where you're going to whip out your phone and start photographing everything. Hence the lack of photos.

I talked into the meatball hoagie with a house salad with the house dressing. Can't wait to eat.... The house salad and Italian bread with soft butter were outstanding. By the number of ingredients, that salad was made with a lot of love. Waiting on the meatball hoagie.... The mixed peppers on the meatball with a large mound of melted mozzarella cheese. The sandwich was large enough that it was a struggle to get my mouth around it to take a bite and that's a good thing! The meatballs and red sauce were as good as ever. My sister had never been to Muriale's so she became an instant fan. After 8 years away this meal was great. Don't ever change and keep it classy. Thank you!

As we're temporarily home bound, a friend brought us delicious takeout from Muriale's. We shared two somewhat-similar and tasty entrees, (1) Eggplant Parmesan ($21) featuring lightly breaded and fried eggplant, fresh mozzarella, ricotta, house-made marinara sauce and (2) Veal Parmesan ($24), with lighted breaded and fried veal, fresh mozzarella, and house-made meat sauce. Both entrees were served with a side of spaghetti and tomato-based sauce, house salad, and garlic toast. Note that the house salad was excellent, consisting of fresh greens, onions, cheese, olives, tomatoes, pepperoni, and roasted red peppers. We chose the balsamic vinaigrette as our dressing. (Side salads in the Fairmont/Clarksburg area are often only iceberg lettuce and a shaving or two of carrots). Our initial thought was that the prices were a bit on the higher side. However, in seeing the high quality of the food, the generous portions, and the "extras" that were included (salad, garlic toast, etc.), we feel that it was a good value.

Shortly after our waitress stopped by for drink orders and another large group of women were seated right next to us. We could barely hear each other. The entire rest of the room was empty! But they got seated less than 2 feet away. I know they were having a good time, us, not so much. Hostess tip: in this type of instance don't stack people on top of each other. There was plenty of space to spread us out. We ordered appetizers and dinners. appetizers were delicious: peel n eat shrimp, spinach artichoke dip and calamari (my grandson wanted it!) Dinners ordered: Beef Wellington, salmon (ordered blackened), Cajun chicken Alfredo, child's beef tips and chicken basket. All the dinners were great, as well as the asparagus, BUT, the salads greens were brown. I even pointed it out to the waitress, but they didn't seem very concerned. I even thought they might offer a small discount, it was that bad. For the five dinner with tip was over $225. You certainly can eat for less, beef Wellington alone was $50. All in all, beautiful setting, cozy dining room. Friendly staff. We will go back sometime.
