I wasted 3 weeks with this company and I might have to sue them for my down payment. A guy named "Brad" came to my home and negotiated a deal and told me it would take 3 weeks to get inventory. 3 weeks later, a guy named "Fernando "shows up UNANNOUNCED from Genesis looking to see the scope of the work. After a month from giving a deposit of $450 for a $4500 job, the original salesman "Brad" calls and claims they now want an extra $1k to start the job. I called Brads boss "Roger Goodman" and explained that it was not good business practice to renegotiate prices a month later and it was also very unprofessional to send a guy to my home without a scheduled appointment. Roger said he simply couldn't afford to do the job in the way his salesman "Brad" wrote the order. I WOULD NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL, VERY UNETHICAL, and they wasted 3 weeks of my time playing games. read more

Let me say I have no issues with the quality of work. I had my whole driveway done with pavers. They are beautiful I spent 8000.00 But, when I tried to add additional work (a wall) they wouldn't take the job it fell sort 800.00 of the 4000.0 minimum. The way I see is I already met the minimum and surpassed it. I have had other work done to my home and called the company back with jobs less then their minimum and they have taken the job as a matter of fact they told me it was just bad business if they didn't. We used Genesis Stoneworks on our new construction yard. It was just a dirt lot and now we have a beautifully paved useable space and a great synthetic grass area for our daughter to play on. We received quotes from multiple companies. however, Roger seemed to be the most honest man we met with. He was forthcoming, clear, and a wonderful deal. He didn't seem to try to take advantage or up sell. The contractor we dealt with while the actual work was being done was a GOD SEND! His name was Juan, he was a hardworker, didn't cut any corners, was just very meticulous with his craft. He would alert me of any future problems I may run into and would advise me on what he felt would be a good way to avoid them. Recently hired Genesis to replace my long driveway. This project was a big investment and I am very pleased with the work done by Genesis. The crew that showed up every day was amazing. As is to be expected with a project of this size, there were a few hiccups along the way. But the crew and the job manager handled everything very professionally. One of my motivations for writing concerns the reporting of poor response times for inquiries that I have read on Yelp. I want to say that when I had questions, Daniel, our salesperson, got back to me on so many occasions -- weekends, evenings, early morning -- literally within minutes. My other motivation is the fact that in quoting this second job, Daniel had these wonderful ideas for decorative touches for our patio. that turned out to be quite stunning. Contracted Genesis stoneworks to do stone pavers in back yard, pool deck, front door entrance way, pool remodel and back yard vinyl fence. Kevin our sales person was very helpful with design and paverstone color schemes. We went from plaster pool to a Stonescapes finish and the pool looks fantastic. Kevin and Ruben, the project manager were good at keeping the project moving along to finish in a timely manner, any issues and concerns that came up were quickly addressed and efficiently resolved. Genesis did a challenging job for us around our pool/spa. The concrete deck needed to be removed and new and better yard drainage installed under it. One end of the old deck was slumping downslope, and Genesis was the only bidder that had a way to fix that. All of the paver choices we saw from others were unattractive, but Genesis found a new and very attractive line of products in Arizona. Their design ideas were very good and enhanced the finished result. The crew was very meticulous about getting the new surface and subsurface drainage just right and sorted out the electrical and spa leak problems that emerged. The final result was fairly priced and exceeded our expectations for appearance and function. I highly recommend Genesis. read more

We basically remodeled our entire backyard. We had pavers installed, artificial grass and our pool resurfaced by Genesis Stoneworks. The process was pretty quick and painless considering all that was done. There were very specific crews for each part of the job. The paver and grass crew were very efficient and neat (cleaned up each night). They were also super friendly and courteous. The tile and stone crew was also impressive and very meticulous with the install process. The foreman took care to listen to what we wanted and had no problem altering the design (at our request) when we realized something could be done better than we originally planned. Just had our three-car brick-lined concrete driveway and walkway replaced with beautiful pavers by Genesis Stoneworks of Moorpark, CA. My wife and I were blown away at the speed and efficiency of their workman and craftsmenship. Not only does Genesis use the best materials from Angeles, they also have the art of installing pavers down to a science. The crew that showed up at our residence was powerful to say the least. The back-breaking effort it took to demo our existing driveway and walkway was daunting. These guys made it appear like a walk in the park. Next, came the actual site prep and install, which was done in an organized and efficient operation. This large project was completed in less than two full days. The result is stunning. My 1st good experience with Genesis was 2015 when they installed a large driveway for us (pavers). They were fast, did an excellent job and the drainage was perfect ( even in the January 9,2018 historic rain event). My next good experience was today 7-25-18 when Ruben Mora came to discuss sealing our driveway and also removing eucalyptus oil from the driveway. He was a wealth of information and cleaned an area where the eucalyptus oil was...it worked very well. Lastly, he refused a $25 tip saying, "no thanks, it's my job". I met with other paving contractors, but there was simply no comparison to the feeling of confidence and caring that I felt from Roger Goodman, President of Genesis Stoneworks. The result is beautiful. We hired Genesis and worked with Chad Fassler. He was timely, professional, courteous and accommodated our needs in an exceptional manner. I should add that we were definitely stumped about how to handle a couple of repairs in our yard and he was creative about problem-solving solutions with us! I read all of the negative reviews for Genesis Stoneworks after they gave me a written proposal for pavers and stacked stone for the entry of my house. I know, I should have done this before calling them, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Kevin was the salesman, and did the measurements, and prepared the proposal. Their price seemed reasonable, however, their pricing was all lumped into material, labor and profit. They claimed that they were giving me a beter than contractor price on the materials, but would not disclose what that was. I did my own shopping around and found out what contractor prices were for pavers and stacked stone. Genesis would not substantiate their claim. Regardless, I agreed to move forward with their proposal but wanted to see their price adjusted by their ad "$1000 off Jobs $7500+" in the March 2019 edition of Remodeling 101 Magazine, Page 19. My job was $15,000+. That's when I got a Text from Kevin that they did not want to move forward with the Job. The Owner's decision, I'm sure. They don't like when you ask for detail, or for them to honor their advertised discounts. Don't do business with them, unless you don't care about what you're paying for. Very unprofessional company. Does not do good work. We hired them to do stonework and landscaping in our yard. What was quoted as a 3 day job took them almost 4 months to complete. The sod they installed literally began dying 2 days after they installed it. It was a poorly executed job. Even though their company representative Alan, admitted they didn't have their "A team" work on our landscape and took full responsibility for our dead lawn, it took them almost four months to correct the problem. We will never do business with them again nor will we recommend them to any family or friends. I'd look elsewhere if you'd like quality work done in a timely manner. read more

While they did a good job with the pavers and the new patio that we requested, I was very disappointed that the workers had little or no regard for my lawn. After the demolition, they left large heavy pieces of rubble on the grass which I had to move before it killed the grass. This debris could have easily been put on the side of the house where it would not kill the grass. The company also left a pallet of sand and supplies and a pile of dirt in our driveway for a couple of weeks. I think I would have gone with another company if I had known how little regard they had for our personal property. read more

Good outfit, highly recommend them. We had them install high-end Artistic Pavers (shells and stones embedded, great look when done) which require wet saw and are very hard to lay. Complex 2000 sf job on pool deck and a terrace above that. Genesis' price was competitive, lower than Alan Smith Pools, and they met expectations. We had issues with the materials and Chad the customer service rep was stellar in standing up for us with the jerk regional sales manager from Artistic. Their field crew was polite, neat and skillful, also handled drainage lines and outlets well, and fixed a final-stage problem at our pool skimmer housing which was cracked (as we were forewarned it could) during the demo of our huge concrete slab pool deck. (The pool company walked away on that one, and Genesis made good at no extra charge.) They came back at the end of the job to inlay white Canadian polymeric sand to fill in gaps in the paver edges, and ran the compactor a second time, giving us a very nice clean, finished look. The previously tilted coping around the pool was made level, and they were careful and clean in all their work. I given them an A on this job, and we're very fussy. And Chad Fassler is an A+, one of the best I've ever met in the home contracting business. He has photos of the finished job if you are interested. read more

Very disappointed service. As soon as we called for estimate, sales person showed up right away and kept calling and contacting us every day and night to let us sign the contract and make a deposit. We made a decision to sign the contract even they were more expensive than others because of their positive and aggressive attitude. Before we signed the contract, the sales lady said they will start working in 4-5wks and someone would call me to let us know for the starting date which never happened. Also it was very hard to contact with Genesis after I signed the contract. After 4 and half week that we signed the contract we were finally able to get in touch with sales person and she said they gave us too cheap estimates for every work that we wanted so they won't do the work and even they decide to do the work it would be after 4 months from now?! What?? Very bad service and no manners! Would NOT recommend this company to anyone! NEVER! read more

I have to say that I am REALLY disappointed with the company and their ethics. Erika came out here and was great! She helped create the design that I had wanted and then I dealt with the owner, Roger as well as 'the project manager,' Reuben. They did not deliver what they were supposed to. Meaning, it took them a really long time to finish the project, charged a lot of money and even tried to blame me on the fact that they did not return my calls (s). They chipped my wall and only when I threatened YELP, did the project manager call me back. The guys ruined my sealer that I had to pay an OUTSIDE company to do because they stopped responding or did not return my calls/emails and then showed up at my door without notice to seal everything - when it was already sealed! They planted like my 2 year old child would plant and even left their materials in my yard for over 2 weeks. This company is only one thing - money hungry. Stay away- read more

We purchased a new home and hired Genesis Stoneworks to install a paver patio, patio cover, seat wall, artificial turf, plants/trees, and outdoor lighting. From beginning to end, Genesis was a delight to work with and we couldn't be more pleased with the final result. The president Roger Goodman came out personally to give us a quote, and was very helpful and responsive when we had followup questions. We had a good feeling about his company from the beginning because he was very confident about his product, gave a very competitive quote, and didn't try and sell us anything we didn't ask for. He showed us samples of everything we picked, and was very patient as we changed our minds a few times on some details. When the crew came to do the work, they were very efficient, and made sure to confirm details with us when they had questions. Genesis just did our driveway, a small path, and 2 odd areas. Their price was well below the 2 competitors I checked, and I liked the materials better as they fit well with our existing slate walkways. Scott R. understood exactly what we wanted, and made some nice refinements to the design. Demolition (Day 1) was very quick and not as noisy as we would have expected. On day 2, Ernesto showed up with a crew of 7 and finished the entire project, including clean up! The next morning they picked up the leftover materials, after leaving us some pieces for future use,did some minor adjustments as we requested, and did final cleanup. Scott was here at times and in touch throughout, including 2 thorough walk throughs. Having done many interior and exterior projects over 25 years, this was by far the smoothest sailing we have ever had. I am in pleasant shock! Hate to park on the driveway since it looks so good, but will have to get used to that. read more
