Simply not good and such a waste due to the great location across the street from the closed beach! That's right, the beaches were closed due to algae blooms in the water. Very disappointed like the meal here. Poor service, we sat outside at a table on the sidewalk, poor food, my brat was served on a stale cold bun with a few slivers of sauerkraut. Other reviewers complained about the bathrooms which we didn't stay long enough to use, thankfully. I hardly ever write a one star review but it is well deserved in this case. Subpar food safety standards. One of the women in the kitchen was on her phone with food gloves on for a few minutes. Then proceeded to touch her necklace etc with gloves on. Then started putting food on the counter and handling tortillas for wraps - in and out of the microwave with the same gloves on. Yuck. I ordered a Heineken 0, waitress brought a regular Heineken; when I pointed this out to her, she stated she thought they were the same. We came here for breakfast and sat outside. It's a basic breakfast menu featuring mostly omelettes that was was perfect for our group! They were able to seat our party of 10 on a Saturday morning, which made us very happy. Surprisingly there aren't a ton of breakfast/brunch options in Lake Geneva. We were happy to find Speedo's was within walking distance of our hotel, near the lake and had something on their menu for everyone in our group. It's a cute little Wisconsin breakfast place and the service was wonderful. I'm saddened to see all the negative reviews. Take Speedo's for what it is--a bar that happens to serve food! Food was okay, our server was adorable but couldn't crack a smile but when I had to go to the ladies' room, which by the way is for customers only, I walked into an area with many doors not marked clearly. The first door I opened (should have been locked) there was a dark and dirty basement/cellar that would have been a very bad choice and potentially caused injury. The next door I opened lead to a long hallway with another door. Do I open it or go back? I opened it and walked into a horrible, dirty, restroom the size of an airplane bathroom. Dirty, rusty, smelly and so small I hit my head on the toilet paper holder when I bent over. If a restaurant can be gauged by cleanliness of restrooms, I should have run. Men's room was out of order. I thought I was being punked and looked for cameras but can't believe the Health Department doesn't shut them down if there were pictures. Do not go to this place unless you want to get sick. I couldn't even eat here because after 5 minutes of observation I was so digested. None of the servers/ kitchen staff wash hands or wear hair nets. They take back dirty dishes and then run food out. Ice bins are black and not cleaned. Multiple people playing with hair and then touching food and utensils. All the windows sills and bathrooms have filth and layers of grime. To top it off the cooks use the same cutting board for raw meats and vegetables and don't wash them/change gloves. I am praying that people do not get food borne illnesses, as there are major red flags all over this place. Business owners Please take immediate action as this is a serious safety issue. read more

Ordinary there Speedos famous burger with guacamole, how I wanted it cooked, I received the burger half cooked, and no guacamole. Had to find a waitress to ask for the guacamole that came on tbe burger. It was AT BEST, a $5 burger. McDonald Big Mac would have tasted better (I don't eat McDonalds) so that tells you something. $18 for a burger and fries. Never, will we eat there again. This was simply cafeteria food at best. First time trying Speedo's was a success! Not only does Speedo's have prime real estate right on Lake Geneva, but service was excellent as well! I ordered a cheeseburger and paired it with a Spotted Cow because in Wisconsin, you HAVE to! Similarly, my wife ordered a chicken sandwich. Additionally, both meals came with fries. In all, you can tell the quality was great - fresh and not frozen. The only critique I had for the restaurant were the bathrooms as they were a bit dirty. Not worth the money. We spent 75$ for sub par bland food and too strong cocktail. I got a burger and it wasn't special but definitely not worth the price they charged. I think they charged somewhere around 16$? That burger is school cafeteria level. My boyfriend got a cod sandwich and it was literally fried fish and bread. No veggies for the sandwich. Now we both like cocktails and aren't newbies with drinking. This martini was STRONG. And some think, "that's not bad?" Yeah but if I'm having a chocolatly dessert martini I want to taste the chocolate not only vodka.
